BACHELOR IN PARADISE 205: Joe Plays True Or False With Juelia

bacehlor in paradise 205 joe sam pool action 2015Season 2 Episode 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise brings us right back to Clare who is in the midst of having a meltdown during the rose ceremony, as she doesn’t feel like she has made a connection with anyone. Host Chris Harrison works his magic and calms her down and Clare decides to give her rose randomly to JJ, which is good because JJ is actually really funny this season.

Juelia ends up giving her rose to Joe, even though both Mikey and Jonathan did try and warn her she is being played. This means that Mikey, Jonathan and Michael (who was only there for a few days) were sent packing.

The next day, Samantha from Chris Soules’ season is added to the mix. This is guaranteed to mix things up, as Joe has said time and time again that she is the one he is really there for.

Immediately, she gravitates to Joe (surprise, surprise!) and asks him to go on a date with her. They end up having a romantic photo shoot together and Joe says it’s the best first date he’s ever had.

bachelor in paradise 2015 joe roseWhen Joe returns back to camp with Samantha, they are already hand in hand and acting completely smitten with each other. Obviously, Juelia realizes she has been played and expresses her frustrations with the other cast members. Both Jared and Tanner beg Joe to talk to Juelia and just explain everything that happened so she isn’t so depressed. Joe once again shows his mean streak and expresses little-to-no remorse about hurting Juelia and is even hesitant about taking the time to talk to her.

Meanwhile, Megan from Chris Soules’ season also shows up and joins in on the festivities.

At the same time, there is some trouble in paradise for the more established couples as well. Dan realizes that Ashley S. might not be as normal as he had hoped. He says he has witnessed two emotionally out of character situations with her, which he doesn’t feel like he could put up with in the long run. This leads him to questioning whether he is wasting both of their time by staying committed to her and not exploring his options. He ends up expressing these emotions to Ashley S., who is rightfully shocked and upset. Right away, she tells Dan off and even threatens to leave Paradise.

In contrast, Carly and Kirk who paired off from the get go seemed to be going strong for the most part. Kirk does show some initial hesitation, as he feels he hasn’t been able to explore other options. However, all of these fears seemed to be squashed as Kirk and Carly share the first fantasy suite of the season.

Back at camp, Tanner reveals that Joe had actually been talking to Samantha before the season started and that is why he was so certain that she would be joining them in paradise. However, when asked by Jared if they had talked before Joe straight up lies and acts offended that Jared would assume that’s the only way he could have gotten her date card.

After enough badgering, the guys are able to convince Joe to talk to Juelia and he ends up defending his actions with, “We had a great time and we had a great connection, but Samantha and I have a better connection. True or false?”

Juelia, who was upset, is now pissed off but realizes she can’t guilt Joe, as he is pretty headstrong with his actions. However, she does realize that she is in a good place to potentially ruin his new relationship with Samantha by telling her what a player he is. She reveals that she is going to tell Samantha everything tomorrow!

Back at camp, Dan who is freshly out of his “relationship” with Ashley S. sets his sights on the newcomer Megan. However, Megan admits she not only has her eyes on Dan but Jared and JJ as well. Ultimately, she chooses JJ for her one-on-one. Since Dan is still open season, Ashley S. decides she is going to stay in Paradise to “fight” for Dan.

Sneak peak:

On Monday night, we get to find out how Samantha reacts to Juelia telling her everything about the villainous Joe, however, from the preview it doesn’t look like she is too bothered by his behavior.

Andy Murray Breaks Tennis Drought With Rogers Cup Title

0

andy murray win rogers cup breaks drought 2015Andy Murray is back into the winner’s circle at the Canadian Masters as the Scot defeated rival Novak Djokovic in the Montreal final on Sunday. Djokovic, who entered the final as the favorite, did not appear razor sharp at all points in the tournament. However the outcome in Montreal still hasn’t done all that much to change the complexion of the 2015 US Open favorites.

Murray, who is now ranked No. 2 in the world for the first time since August of 2013, is still considered the second favorite to win the final Grand Slam of the calendar year. Bet365, for example, have Murray at +350 (7/2) while Djokovic is priced pretty short at +105 (21/20). In my opinion, those odds appear to over-rate Djokovic quite drastically.

It’s true that the Serb has compiled an amazing record so far in 2015. His 52-4 record has seen him win six titles, including biggies at Melbourne Park and the All England Club. However, keeping in mind that Djokovic was not at his best during the North American summer hard court swing last season, I think his form may dip down just a little bit in the tournaments ahead. It’s very hard to keep playing at a high level through an entire season and we’ve seen Djokovic blip here and there over the years.

Last summer, for example, tennis fans will recall Djokovic’s surprise losses to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Tommy Robredo, and Kei Nishikori in Toronto, Cincinnati, and New York respectively. With the surprise loss to Murray on Sunday and the surprisingly close match against Ernests Gulbis on Friday, perhaps there are a couple more upsets coming for the Serb in the month ahead.

In regard to Djokovic and the US Open, it’s important to remember that he has only won the tournament one time. The World No. 1 is a great hard courter but, based on title counts, the conditions in Melbourne in January seemingly favour him more than the conditions in New York in August/September.

Following the Montreal result, one that saw Murray negotiate his way through a pretty tough draw, I think one has to consider the World No. 2 as a mild favorite to win the 2015 US Open. For true odds, I would price the Scot at about +250 with Djokovic more like +400.

Other favorites for the US Open include Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, and Rafael Nadal. But of that trio Wawrinka is the only one that bettors can have any confidence in at this point (14 to 1 with Coral). Federer no-showed Montreal this season while Nadal did a bit of damage before bowing out in the quarters to Nishikori. It’s somewhat unclear where Rafa is at right now however his ranking of World No. 8 could probably be taken at face value. Accordingly, he seems over-rated in the US Open market as well, priced at +900 with Betway.

Montreal, besides hinting that Murray may be playing his best right now, also showed us that Gulbis might be getting back to stronger tennis. The Latvian, following his quarterfinal appearance, is now ranked 68th in the world as he looks to be getting back to the Top 25 on tour.

Jeremy Chardy was the biggest surprise in Montreal as the Frenchman made an uncharacteristic run to the semifinals of a Masters Series event. He’s now up to the World No. 27 position, nearing his career high ranking of World No. 25.

The Cincinnati Masters are up next. With Djokovic and Nadal perhaps a bit off and with Murray and Nishikori perhaps a bit tired I think the tournament will go to a Swiss player. Both Wawrinka and Federer enter the event on more than enough rest and they are both capable of putting big dents in the draw.

NFL Preseason Week 1 Winners & Losers

0

The NFL is back! I know it’s just preseason football, but the excitement is still there after enduring a long summer of other sports that just don’t do it for me or the rest of America. I will take a preseason NFL game over a regular season baseball game any day. The exhibition football game may not mean much, but does the 12th matchup of the year between the Braves and Nationals really matter?

We got a slew of games this past week, so we need to run down the list of Winners and Losers to see which players and coaches made the highlight reel for the right reasons versus the ones who would have preferred to make no news at all.

NFL Grown Man of the Week: We’ve got plenty of idiot athletes making the news for all the wrong reasons. This week we highlight an NFLer who made a positive impact on the world. Everyone knows at least one person close to them who has been affected by cancer. It was tremendous to see Eric Berry of the Chiefs back in uniform after being declared cancer free. You can tell how much he appreciates not only being able to play football again, but how thankful he is to just be alive.

Berry: “I’ve got to take advantage of this opportunity because it’s bigger than football. … It’s just amazing seeing how everybody else gets so much hope just from seeing me strap on the pads even before I could get on the field. Just to see me practice and see me out there on the team does so much for them. So I’ve got to go hard. I’ve got to give everything I’ve got.”

NFL Child of the Week: Gotta hold ballers’ feet to the fire when they act like unruly children. This week’s dishonor goes to Geno Smith of the Jets. It wasn’t enough for him to get punched in his grill which led to a broken jaw that will keep him on the sidelines for up to 10 weeks. This former first round pick though it wise to play catch shirtless with a buddy outside his home. The eye black put the icing on the cake. Todd Bowles was none too happy with his quarterback and will have a short leash for him going forward. Smith has made Bowles’ first few weeks as a head coach very eventful in all the wrong ways.

Some are predicting Smith has played his last down in New York. That’s possible, but it of course depends on how the remaining quarterbacks, with jaws intact, perform.

Winner: Tim Tebow is back on the scene after not playing in the League since 2013. You excited? He had a nice gig on the SEC Network but preferred to take another stab at a QB career in the NFL. Chip Kelly is an imaginative guy so maybe he can keep Tebow on the roster once the real games start. He could always just be the hype man for the crowd that seemed to love him. The former Gator got a standing ovation and had to ask Eagles fans to tone it down so he could call a play….in a preseason game!

Tebow did fine as his passing ability looked more polished than last we saw him. He made a great touchdown run, which comes as no shock. The man hasn’t forgotten his best skill, namely finding the goal line and first down markers.

Loser: Chip Kelly and the rest of Tebow’s teammates. These guys will now have to deal with Tebowinsanity. ESPN’s First Take is licking their chops as Stephen A. and Skip are downing extra pots of coffee so they can yell at each other about Tebow for the next few weeks.

Winner: Phillip Rivers just got paid. Dude likely doesn’t even remember his preseason stats after he ended up signing an extension that will pay him $65 million guaranteed! Not bad for a guy that can’t seem to carry his team to the big game. Great regular season QB that just isn’t Tom Brady when it’s money time.

Loser: The Chargers. That is a lot of cash to tie up in a quarterback who is not on his way up to his prime. Letting him walk sounds crazy and no team likes to start over with a rookie QB, but sometimes you got to hit rock bottom before getting to the ultimate destination, a Super Bowl.

Winner: Dan Quinn is a hit in Atlanta….after four quarters of preseason play. I will say that the Falcons looked like a different defense, flying around making plays. But I’m not going to get caught up in the hype just yet. I need to see the defense getting sacks, stripping the QB, and actually being a help to the ATL offense when the regular season rolls around.

Loser: Kevin White and the Bears are both hurting after this top ten pick fractured his shin. White will miss significant time and possibly even his entire 2015 rookie season. This is bad news for the Bears coming off a 3-13 season in which Jay Cutler showed he needs all the help he can get at receiver.

Winner: Rex Ryan, who was quick to pick up Ikemefuna “Jawbreaker” Enemkpali after the Jets dismissed him for wrecking their QB plans. This linebacker may not even make the BIlls final roster, but if he does, Ryan has a player that will show ultimate loyalty. Big difference from being unemployed and having a second chance with a pro team.

Loser: Ray Rice is still without a team. It looks like it will take a franchise full of desperation to take on his baggage. If the Texans didn’t bite after losing Arian Foster, I don’t know what could constitute more desperation that that.

Loser Tweet: Participation trophies are turning Americans into entitled softies and losers, according to James Harrison. No doubt!

Winner Tweet : This would be most sane folks’ reaction to RGIII saying he is the best QB in the NFL.

Chris Brown Sad Again & Yandy Smith Stands Strong

Monday is here people so you know what that means. Chris Brown is moody again, Yandy Smith is standing by her man Mendeecees when he goes off to prison, and theaters were scared of “Straight Outta Compton” so they hired excess security. Funny how “Trainwreck” had less security and way more press attention for the lack of security.

janelle monae cut off from today show 2015 gossipJanelle Monae Silenced by Today Show

What is really going on with the world today? Can an artist not express himself or herself in the way they see fit without being told to “shut the hell up” or “you can’t say that?”

Janelle Monae is the most recent black artist to be silenced (or at least they tried to silence her) during a performance on the Today Show. She sang three songs with several of her label mates, one of which, “Hell You Talmbout,” is an ode to the black lives that have been lost. At the end of her set, during her speech, the Today Show quickly cut from her to one of its anchors speaking over her saying,

“We’ll have much more from Janelle Monáe … coming up.”

You have got to be kidding me!

Why is it taboo for black people to show their anger about black people being killed? NBC doing that shows that they side with those who believe that we should keep quiet and it’s pretty damn disrespectful.

Why are does it seem we the only ones to care that Black Lives Matter (BLM) too? Now if the BLM movement really wants to make a fuss like they did in Seattle, how about at the next Today Show performance they get up there and interrupt. They’ll bring some attention for sure.

chris brown moody again 2015 gossipChris Brown- The Light Skinned Lover’s in the House

Chris, Chris, Chris… always wearing your heart on your sleeve. It can be somewhat endearing at times and other times it can be annoying. Why is the crooner all in his feelings this time? We don’t really know.

I mean it could be the drama going on with his baby momma but, what more did he expect from that situation. It could be that his ex and “real love” Rihanna has moved on to racecar driver Lewis Hamilton. Or it could he just wants Karrueche Tran back.

We can’t put our finger on it, but based on his latest twitter posts, I’m leaning toward relationship issues.

“When u allow me to be the man for you everything else will fall in place. I can’t be a fuck nigga all my life… U fear me only because of the potential!”

Whatever it is that is going on, let’s just allow him to work through it so he can do what he does best- make music.

yandy smith stands by Mendeecees for prison term 2015 gossipYandy Smith Stands by Her Man

I know, I know. We got caught up in the whole VH1 Love and Hip Hop wedding special for Yandy and Mendeecees back in May. We loved the flowers, we loved the dresses, we loved the space… we forgot that Mendeecees is heading back to prison.

Well at the time, it was uncertain but it looks like now it may be a little clearer what’s going on which has caused people to question if Yandy can handle it.

Even in the midst of what seems to be the worst, Yandy is hopeful and positive because as she has said before, no one knows what’s in the future.  She married for the long haul.

“What I tell people is I’m not getting married because it’s good for right now. I’m not getting married because it’s bad for right now. I’m getting married for the long haul. I’m getting married… this is forever…it’s the good, the bad, the ugly, the unsure…That’s why you get married. You don’t get married only because someone wakes up cute cause I don’t wake up cute and he still loves me.”

This is all very interesting because the fact of the matter is, her man is charged with operating an Upstate New York drug ring. I mean, he took a plea deal but the reality it, this guy was like James St. Patrick from Power. That kind of crime comes with a lot of consequences and the sentence can span decades.

But kudos to her for standing by her man.

Straight Outta Compton theater issues 2015 gossipStraight Outta Compton Causing Issues at Theatres?

Oh America! How you continue your obvious yet at times subtle display of racial division.

Straight Outta Compton is in theatres and you best believe, since I lived in Los Angeles during that time, I was right there opening day to see the movie. It was great! I mean really, really good. Everyone in the theatre was excited. We sang along with the songs, we cheered when we heard diss songs (like it was the first time) and we cried with Eazy died (oh come on you know he’s dead). You know what we didn’t do though? We didn’t worry about someone coming in with a gun to shoot up the place.

It baffles me that theatres around the country have gone to the measures of checking purses and bags at the door for weapons for those going to see the movie. I literally cannot fathom why they would do that. Because the content of the movie talks about a certain level of violence or because it talks about civil disobedience toward police?

Tell me when was the last time someone shot up a theatre for a movie like Straight Outta Compton because all I can remember are shootings at movies about super heroes ad white girls living that Trainwreck life.

It’s all just too much and is a revealing, slap in the face. It is more appropriate to beef up security at police stations or other law enforcement agencies that at a place people to go to enjoy the telling of a good story.

Get it together America.

SENSE8 108 Recap: We Will All Be Judged

Although I have seen numerous episodes of the series, it still feels like I am just starting “Sense8.” The reason for that is that the underlying narrative has progressed little since I began watching the show. I began to realize that the show was not the sci-fi thriller I had hoped it would be a few episodes ago and now I am wondering what is left.

In the eighth episode “We Will All Be Judged by the Courage of Our Hearts,” the show continues to focus on the smaller details of the characters’ personal lives.

Sun is shown having a conflict with a fellow prison inmate. Yet again her martial arts skills are showcased, as she is able to defeat a fight that ends up being against multiple other women.

sense8 108 recap images judged by heart 2015

Meanwhile, Will has a “visit” from Riley as he is in his Chicago apartment. This leads to a steamy kissing scene between the two characters, which have seemingly had a connection in previous episodes. Although this does showcase the connecting abilities between the strangers, it isn’t really anything new or incredibly intriguing. At this point I would much rather see them sharing their intelligence or skills to get out of risky situations, not their ability to “visit” one another for date night. However, it was funny seeing Will’s police partner walk in on Will making out with the air in front of his apartment window.

Unfortunately, Lito doesn’t have as much happiness or humor in his storyline this episode. Hernando and Lito meet up with Daniela who is working on getting back her phone and the explicit pictures that her ex-boyfriend, Joaquin, is blackmailing them all with. She shows up with a severe black eye and explains to Lito and Hernando that she has agreed to marry Joaquin in exchange for his silence. Lito silently accepts this fate for her as he feels it is the only way to save his career in Hollywood.

Later in the episode, Hernando decides to visit Lito on set and expresses his concern for Daniela. He does not agree with Lito’s choice to let Daniela return to her abusive relationship with Joaquin. Hernando explains his inability to stay with a man who would willingly allow another person be hurt for his own interest. Lito is torn between Hernando, the love of his life and his movie career (and therefore maintaining his heterosexual image).

Will begins connecting with Nomi in an attempt to solve what is really going on with Whispers and Dr. Metzger’s various lobotomies. Together, Will, Nomi and Amanita discover that Whispers is part of the Biologic Preservation Organization and that they were paying Metzger to travel the world to lobotomize people, such as Nomi.

Shortly after this discovery, Whispers shows up at Amanita’s mom’s house where Nomi and Amanita are staying. Nomi is able to escape out the window while Amanita tries to distract Whispers and his crew, who are aggressively seeking Nomi throughout the house.

sense8 108 judged by courage of our hearts 2015 recap

This brings us – finally – to one of the most action-packed scenes of the series. As Nomi is finally found and stopped by two of Whispers’ men at gunpoint, she cries out for help and sure enough Sun takes over and uses her martial art skills to allow Nomi to escape.

Nomi ends up finding herself a getaway car, where she tries to get away from a series of cop cars, which are now after her. Here, another connection is made as Nomi expresses that she cannot drive thereby tagging someone else to enter the ‘ring.’ In that instant Corpheus shows up with his established driving abilities and he’s able to lose both the police and the agents chasing Nomi.

The episode ends by jumping back to Kala’s story in Mumbai. She is with the father of her fiancé, Rajan, who is known as Papa-ji. He, Rajan’s father, is telling Kala to call off the wedding. As she tries to assure him she wants to be wed to Rajan, Papa-ji tells her he knows that it is not true and she should not wed Rajan if it is not what she feels is right. This conversation is abruptly ended when a group of masked men stab Papa-ji, out of nowhere, leaving Kala screaming in shock.

Although this episode had a few action scenes thrown in, the connections role seemed to play a very superficial part in them. The car chase was just that, with a few characters being thrown in and out as their skills are needed. For the most part, this episode once again was building the identity of the characters, instead of building the main narrative. Now with only four episodes left, I have a feeling Sense8 will end before it ever evolves into the true sci-fi series it seemed to be from the marketing.

America Ninja Warrior 711: Pittsburgh Finals

american ninja warrior 711 geoff britten pittsburgh finals 2015“American Ninja Warrior” made a stop in Pittsburgh for another city finals event, this one featuring a very tough obstacle in the form of Floating Monkey Bars. We witnessed a superhero competitor, an impressive old gymnast, and one female runner. Other than an all-time great defense in the late 70’s I have no idea where Pittsburgh got their rep for being such a tough city. I don’t think they have invaded and conquered other cities, but no Steel City sporting event can go on without the commentators talking up the toughness of the citizens there.

Let’s break down the action….

Not the best athlete? Just make an awesome interview video to get on ANW like Danny Johnson. This guy poked himself in the eye early on the course, a most unusual tactics, then fell into the drink with a casual dismount. More focus and less video editing sir.

Pavel Fesyuk is likely the first pest control guy to be on Ninja Warrior. He took the time to make viewers dislike him early on as he took a selfie. He had a decent, yet ugly run. His luck ran out when he was dropped by the Floating Monkey Bars. He would be one of many victims of this portion of the course

P.J. Granger was a crowd favorite from the tiny town of Bedford, Indiana. This guy is just a regular Joe working in construction. He took weeks off work to get his shot at Ninja fame. No small sacrifice when most folks live week to week. The recovering alcoholic had folks donating to help him pay for the trip and he really inspired his community. The Monkey Bars took P.J. out, but not before he grabbed a spot in the nationals.

It’s amazing to hear the stories of multi day waits in line just to run in the qualifiers. This obstacle course means a lot to so many athletes and their families.

Sean Darling-Hammond had a super clean run going. This idealist was easy to root for as he made it all the way to Doorknob Arch. His early dismount cost him as his run ended so close to getting a shot at the Invisible Ladder.

This guy named Luciano didn’t even make it past the first obstacle, which no one even knows the name of so we will just say he fell off the Entrance Ramp. Pretty embarrassing.

I have a soft spot for the old guys, since I can relate. 56 year old Miles Avery is a beast just for making the city finals. He just lost his balance on the very difficult Snake Crossing. This was no cake walk and bit more than a few competitors, ending their shot at Vegas.

Jamie Rahn was a real character. He evidently loves NBC as he had an entire superhero suit with the TV network letters on the front. The guy was real fan favorite and with his five yearsexperience, a favorite to win in Pittsburgh. He made it all the way to the Invisible Ladder, and with an awkward style came within a few feet of finishing the course.

You have to know your body so when you get to this last obstacle, you can choose to rest, hoping to finish. Or if you are 90 percent sure you are gassed, just jump on the Ladder to save precious time.

Geoff Britten was a phenom. His workout video featured a one armed Salmon Ladder climb! Dude is strong as hell. His forearms were big as his biceps. His grip was something special and the man could probably choke a full grown baboon to death with his bare hands. He made short work of Doorknob Arch and the architects of that obstacle started redesigning it as soon as he destroyed it! Dude climbed the Invisible Ladder with ease and whacked the buzzer to finish the very tough course. There was a 15 minute delay as workers installed a new buzzer after this physical freak pounded it.

I’ve got no problem with a little showboating, but it sure could cost a runner some crucial time. Mike Bernardo was a six year vet who should know better. It didn’t hurt his placing however. He wound up at number seven and will take his fireman act to Vegas. He had a solid upper body that was more suited for flexing than for passing the Doorknob Arch.

It’s cool to watch Ninja Warrior just to see the different jobs these people have. Who would think a crash dummy engineer would be good at running obstacle courses? Adam Mihm was very good and will head to Vegas after a fast run that ended at the Floating Monkey Bars. Kid needs a better nickname. Can’t just use an initial then stick “train” at the end.

The lone female competitor on the night had a short run. Michelle Warnkey thought long and thought wrong on the Snake Crossing. This little tilting bridge is not impossible to walk slowly across (easy for me to say). Her leap was way off, leading to an epic fail and disappointment.

It would be nice to see more women do well in this sport, but I know they would not want an easier course designed just for female athletes.

america ninja warriro joe moravsky pittsburgh 711 2015The crowd got a real treat as last year’s best Warrior made an appearance. Joe Moravsky was super smooth, making it hard to believe he is a weatherman. The crowd was jacked up for this cat! He barely made it past Doorknob Arch then struggled up the Invisible Ladder. Even after losing his grip on one ring at the top, this super athlete managed to hang on with his feet and one hand to reach the platform to ring that buzzer. Moravsky had an epic run, but still paled in comparison to Geoff Britten, who made it look sooo easy. He finished second, behind only Britten.

Elet Hall flew through this course. That would be my strategy. Not many finish the entire course, and most fail on the same portion. I would just go as fast as possible hoping to outpace at least 15 of the others. His insane training video made me wonder how this guy doesn’t stay hurt. He was pretty amazing to say the least. His run was about as impressive as his training vid, but he lacked the strength to get past Doorknob Arch. If this thing came down to a tiebreaker arm wrestling match, Geoff Britten would slaughter Mr. Hall.

Check back next week as ANW heads to San Pedro for The Military Finals. Can’t wait to see what these real life Warriors can do!

I AM CAIT 104: Kim Kardashian Confronts Caitlyn

i am cait kim kardashian confronts caitlyn 104 images 2015Episode 4 of “I Am Caitis called “Family Interference,” and shows Caitlyn confronting her family, Kim and Khloe specifically, about some issues that arose after her Vanity Fair article was published.

Kim is the first to visit Caitlyn, as she wants to try and mend some of the issues that were putting a wedge between the family members. Kim explains to Caitlyn that some of what she said in her interview came off differently then she probably thought it would.

Kim first points out that the way Caitlyn described her daughters Kylie and Kendall as “distractions” was hard for them to read and although she didn’t mean it to come off that way, it did. Next, Kim brings up the quote from Caitlyn where she said she would still be with her ex-wife Kris Jenner if she were truly accepting of who she was.

Kim explains how upset this has made Kris and how unfair it is of Caitlyn to say; She explains, “If you’re a woman, [Kris] is not a lesbian. She does not want to be with a woman. That is not fair to ask.”

Although Caitlyn remains adamant that what she said in the article was how she was truly feeling, she reveals to Kim that she doesn’t want to hurt anybody or tear the family apart. She is especially concerned with Khloe, who recently sent her intense texts following the article, as she was upset with the way Caitlyn had portrayed Kris.

Kim and Caitlyn agree that there has to be steps made in order to have the “family unit going again.”

This week, Caitlyn is also invited to an all-girls sleepover at trans-actress Candis Cayne’s house, Caitlyn, who is rumored to be romantically linked to Candis, enjoys herself as she tries on some of Candis’ lavish gowns and flashy dresses.

However, when it comes to dating Caitlyn admits she has no idea how she is going to go about it.

The next day, Caitlyn sits down with Susan Landon who works for the L.A. Transgender Center. She begins discussing her relationship with her family since her transition. Caitlyn reveals she has had very minimal communication with her family since her transition went public. She emphasizes that Khloe is having the hardest time with the transition, mostly because of what she said about Kris in the Vanity Fair article. However, Caitlyn feels as if she is not getting a fair chance from her family for acceptance, as they are only listening to Kris’ side of the story at this point. Susan, who has worked with plenty of family’s going through the same process before, tells Caitlyn that she “can’t force acceptance.”

Later in the episode, Caitlyn and Candis go to the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles to sit in during a Transforming Family meeting, which is a support group that helps families of gender diverse kids. Chaz Bono, who also came out publicly as a transgender, facilitates the group. Caitlyn and Candis are able to listen to the stories of kids transitioning and talk to their families about how they can support their journey.

Although this episode was heavily focused on the issues amongst the Jenner and Kardashian clan, the show still manages to demonstrate how Caitlyn is immersing herself into the trans-gender community and trying to make a difference.

khloe kardashian i am cait 104 recap 2015At the end of the episode, Caitlyn goes out to Khloe’s house to try and sort out the conflict between them. Initially the two seem to be fine as they talk about going to get eyelash extensions together, however things get more intense as they begin talking about Caitlyn’s VF interview and the “tough” texts Khloe sent to her following it.

Khloe explains that the family is there to support her, however no one felt it was necessary for her to bring Kris into the article. However, Caitlyn tells Khloe that Kris constantly made her “hide” who she was. Nonetheless, Caitlyn doesn’t blame Kris and wishes she would stay in contact with her. Khloe expresses confusion to why they aren’t still talking, especially as they were married for 23 years and share two kids together.

kris jenner on i am cait with caitlyn 104 2015Caitlyn then brings up her comment about Kylie and Kendall being a “distraction.” She says that she meant this as them being a distraction from her “true soul,” not just a distraction in general. Khloe says she understands this, but they had a hard time reading the comment, especially Kendall in particular.

Caitlyn reassures Khloe she didn’t mean to be malicious in anything she has said and the two seem to clear things up. At this point, it seems Caitlyn has realized that she is going to have to be the person who reaches out in order to bring her family together once again.

Sneak Peak:

The next episode features Caitlyn taking on a Pride event with Candis, accepting her award at the ESPYs and being confronted by Kris for saying their life together was merely a “distraction” from who she truly is.

Andy Murray Wins 2015 Rogers Cup Beating Novak Djokovic

andy murray beats novak djokovic rogers cup 2015Andy Murray broke his losing streak to number one ranked tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic. It took him nearly two years to get back to his former glory, but he was able to win the 2015 Montreal Masters by taking out the one player who seems to get in his head the most.

Andy Murray recorded his first win over Novak Djokovic in more than two years on Sunday, beating the world number one 6-4 4-6 6-3 in the final of the Rogers Cup.

Murray snapped an eight-match losing streak to Djokovic with his first win over the Serb since the 2013 Wimbledon final, then dedicated the victory to his coach Amelie Mauresmo, who gave birth to a baby boy earlier in the day.

“I’m not sure she will have stayed up to watch this one but, Amelie, this one’s for you,” Murray said.

The Scotsman climbed a spot to number two in the world rankings after capturing his fourth title of the year in a major boost to his confidence ahead of the U.S. Open, starting in New York at the end of the month.

Djokovic suffered just his fourth loss this year and his first in a Masters Series finals since falling to Roger Federer in Cincinnati in 2012.

andy muray wins rogers cup beats novak djokovic 2015“Andy is deservedly a winner today on the court,” Djokovic said.

“I thought what made the difference was his serve and my serve. I didn’t serve well the first set and a half.

“But not taking anything away from him, from his victory. He deserved it. He stepped in, played some great shots. Most of all the moments when he needed to, he served very, very well.”

Murray got the decisive break in the second game of the final set but had to survive an 18-minute service game to consolidate his lead in the fifth game before claiming his third title on the Canadian hardcourts, and first since 2010.

“We’ve played many matches like that, especially in grand slams,” Murray said. “If this was the U.S. Open, we’d have to play another couple of sets like that, which isn’t easy.

“He’s obviously one of the best returners in the world and he obviously has a lot of confidence to stand and fight right to the end, so you have to play right to the end of the match and weather the storms when they come, and I managed to that today.”

Born just a week apart, Murray and Djokovic have known each other since they were children, attending the same training camps and competing against each other in junior events.

Fierce rivals on the court, the pair embraced at the net after a three-hour battle of attrition that left both men exhausted as courtside temperatures reached 40C.

“Everybody wants me and Novak to dislike each other and people always try to stir things up between us,” Murray said.

“It’s impossible to be extremely close when we’re playing in these sorts of matches because it’s so mentally challenging and physically demanding and you need to try to still have that competitive edge as well. “But it’s not easy, not only because we get on but because he’s bloody good, he’s number one in the world and he hasn’t lost in a Masters Series this year. To win against him is extremely tough.”

Jason Derulo Hates Real People Treatment & Ben Affleck Family Birthday

Jason Derulo and his crew had some trouble on Saturday while trying to board a flight in Reno, Nevada.

It apparently began when the singer and his entourage requested for an airline worker to come escort them so they could get through security faster. However, when he was denied, one of his friends became angry and began yelling at the airline workers.

Following the incident, the airline security decided that Jason and a few of his friends could continue and get on the flight, but denied access to the ones who were disruptive and aggressive towards the workers.

“His team requested an escort and were denied and they believed they were being treated unfairly,” several sources have said. “When they voiced their concerns to the airline they were told they could not fly and proceeded on the plane anyway. At that point the Southwest agent called the authorities and removed them.”

However, once Jason and the others who were initially allowed onto the flight boarded, they were reportedly soon after escorted off as security decided to ban the entire crew from the flight.

Since Jason had a show in Los Angeles that night, he was forced to get a private jet in order to make it back in time. Jason posted a video to his Instagram showing himself on a private jet, with a friend behind him saying “you can’t get me off this. ”In addition, sources close to Jason say that he is “pretty mad” about how the whole situation was handled.

Southwest Airlines quickly responded:

“According to our employees, the group refused to follow boarding procedures,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “Initial reports indicate that several customers complained about the group’s behavior. Our crew, responsible for the Safety and comfort of all customers on board, attempted to diffuse the situation; ultimately, local authorities were called and the decision was made to deny boarding to the group.

“The group sought alternate transportation and their tickets were refunded.”

Jason Derulo, Instagram post:

“I had to fire my travel agent for booking me somewhere I wasn’t supposed to be,” he says from his airplane seat in the black and white clip. “But now we’re here, we’re good.”

The camera pans around the private jet to his friend, who adds “They can’t kick me off of this!”

Probably would have been easier and much faster just to go through normal security like every other passenger. Funny, there are so many much bigger celebrities that wouldn’t whine and moan about this, but just work with the issue rather than against it. Can’t wait to see what his contract rider agreement looks like…I’m sure plenty of pretty flowers and those little baby soaps and perfumes.

ben affleck jennifer garner together for birthday 2015 gossip

Despite their recent divorce announcement, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, along with their kids, spent Ben’s 43rd birthday at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida on Saturday.

This surprised many as it had been previously reported that the two weren’t on the best of terms following the surfacing of #nannygate, which refers to the claims that Ben had been having an affair with their former nanny. Although, Ben has denied these accusations on numerous occasions and has actually threatened legal action on a couple of media outlets that have been spreading the rumors.

However, sources at the park said:

“They looked like they were having a great day together smiling and the kids looked very happy and adorable too. The family was just walking around the park like normal people.”

This latest appearance shows that both Ben and Jen are committed to ensuring that their family transitions into their new dynamic as smoothly as possible and trying to keep things as normal as possible for their children. A source close to the family reveals:

“Jen and Ben are still in communication. They are working through the separation for the kids as a family. Ben’s focus has been on his family and his work – with family coming first.”

Jennifer and the kids have been staying in a house in Atlanta, Georgia for the past few weeks while she films a movie. Ben has also been staying on the same property in the guesthouse so he can be close to the kids.

Top 10 Reasons Why ESPN Earns Hatred

0

espn earning hatred nfl nba 2015 imagesYes, ESPN is the best thing to ever happen to sports, just ask anyone in Bristol. They would love to tell you how they have made sports better and more accessible to fans all over the globe. But being a behemoth comes with a price. ESPN also gets to be the worst thing to ever happen to sports.

With football season ramping up we will get to witness both faces of the four letter network. The goodness of ESPN will shine through with awesome coverage of great college football games in high def, complete with the passion that fits the college game. Then there is the NFL side of things where ESPN will have all you can eat stats, as well as plenty of pregame coverage to get you set for the action.

All of us can get behind the benefits of 24 hour a day football coverage. But the start of football will also put ESPN’s blemishes on full display. With more eyes paying attention to the most popular sport in America, the network goes into hyper drive with the negative side of their business.

ESPN doesn’t need me to tell them how to run things, even though I am available to do so. I can be had for a price, just like Jason Whitlock. They know how to make money and things are going just fine for them, so why change?

Just because ESPN benefits financially from some of their tactics doesn’t make it OK. But why change when the money’s rolling in and all the employees are fat and happy? That’s no shot at ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, who is both. If you need to Google the spelling of this guy’s name, just use “fat reporter Lebron’s boy,” like I did. His image is the first to pop up…not a joke.

This article isn’t for the average sports fan who thinks ESPN’s word is gospel. The normal sports fan just likes sports and wants to see home runs, touchdowns, and game winning three’s. They are not concerned with the way their favorite sports are covered, as long as the picture looks good and the contests are compelling.

This article is for sports fans that care about what’s being said before, during, and after the contests end. The ones that can tell the difference between a historically great game and one that is just really good for this decade. This is intended for fans that know when two talking heads are arguing just for the hell of it, not because they believe what’s coming out of their mouths.

To break it down simply, here are ten reasons I hate ESPN. I won’t bother going into a top ten reasons I love the 24 hour sports network. That’s easy. I love sports and they provide the most coverage. They also have some show hosts, in game analysts, and experts that I enjoy. I still watch PTI on occasion, though mostly for Wilbon. I love Highly Questionable, a truly original show that doesn’t take sports so damn seriously. And Bomani Jones is one of the sharpest sports personalities on the planet.

  1. You can find MMA coverage on ESPN, but it takes some digging. They could do more to highlight this growing sport. If they have time to show kids’ baseball and the WNBA, surely there is some wiggle room for more MMA.
  2. Sports Center may be the staple of the company still, but there are too many reruns. This isn’t 1995 when it was OK to loop the same show ten times. Mix in an Outside The Lines rerun to break up the monotony.
  3. Mark May isn’t at Skip Bayless loathing level, but he is inching closer with each college football season. May is one of the smuggest analysts on the network and is so condescending to Lou Holtz that I can barely stand to watch.
  4. I get it. ESPN has to have a huge build up to the games. Keep moving forward is the name of the game. But the postgame coverage pales in comparison to what all the experts predicted for the three hours leading up to the games. How about more content that shows why the game ended like it did instead of useless score predictions beforehand.
    espn bill simmons
  5. With ESPN being so influential, they could use guys like Bill Simmons to say what’s already on the minds of fans. Getting rid of Simmons just shows how unwilling the network is to rock the boat, especially when it comes to the NFL.
  6. PTI was great because Wilbon and Kornheiser are best buddies. They can’t just stick personalities together for a debate of the day and expect the same success. Fake debate themes leave us with disgusting bits of Stephen A. Smith “fighting” with Skip Bayless.
    espn lebron james coverage 2015
  7. There is way too much focus on the loser superstars. If LeBron‘s team loses in the Finals, his face should not be on my screen most of the time. I don’t care if he is the “best player in the world.” I want to see the best team at that moment highlighted, not the team / player the media is in lust with.
  8. Perhaps ESPN could hand out some prosthetic balls to commentators so they could take a stand like Jay Bilas on college athletes not getting paid. After all, so many ESPN employees make their living off the backs of college players who play for free. ESPN could move college athletes closer to proper compensation if they would simply decide to have some courage. To paraphrase a quote from my boy Yoda, “If so powerful you are, why run (from the issue).”
  9. Cowering to the NFL. This is where money comes into play. I’m not blind to that, but it’s just a bad look. We see where taking a stand against Roger Goodell eventually landed Bill Simmons. I don’t expect commentators to threaten Roger Goodell with physical violence (though that’d be great), but it would be nice if the talking heads could say what’s really on their minds when it comes to The League.
  10. Knee jerk reaction is obviously not the best way to report the news. This isn’t only a problem with ESPN, but with TV news in general. ESPN tries to make each great game into “the best ever.” “Best catch ever, best Super Bowl ever, best World Series finish ever, best horse ever.” It’s lazy coverage and it’s just dishonest. Fans don’t need a commentator to tell them that a certain game was the best to happen since humans have been on Earth. A great game that got fans pumped up and gave them something to talk about with their friends is good enough. Stop lying about historical significance on a weekly basis.
