SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE Trailer Throws Everything In

0

Hollywood’s newest venture into the zombie phenomenon takes a more humorous look at the idea of a Zombie Apocalypse. The trailer for the movie “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse” has been released, as the film’s marketing ramps up in anticipation for its upcoming Halloween release.

Just like previous films in the horror-comedy genre like Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse tries to bring in laughs while capitalizing on the blood and gore of the horror movie business.

The movie was co-written and directed by Christopher Landon, who has previously worked on several of the Paranormal Activity sequels as well as Disturbia. Landon has taken a leap from the horror genre, but not too far as he is still uses plenty of his prior techniques within his newest venture.

The movie is about a group of Boy Scouts, who make it their goal to get into a party that is being thrown by the town’s cool kids. However, this plan goes horribly wrong when they find out there are in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Tye Sheridan, who is also staring as young Cyclops in X-Men Apocalypse, leads the pack of scoutsAlongside Tye, is Logan Miller and Joey Morgan and Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, Arnold’s son) as the leader of the cool kids.

From watching the trailer, it is obvious that the movie is trying to capture a similar type of humor that was seen in Superbad. With a main cast of teenage boys, there is no doubt that this movie will be filled with swearing, offensive jokes and plenty of nudity (some of which can be seen in the trailer). The fact that the trailer includes a scene where the boys are watching a stripper who turns out to be a zombie, kind of gives the audience a sense of what direction they were trying to head with this film. However, from the trailer I have my doubts that the movie will be able to capture the comedic appeal that Superbad was able to through its R-rated themes.

Unfortunately, the film also was fairly low budget and this is evident in scenes such as the one where the Scouts are being attacked by zombie cats. Since the film itself doesn’t seem to have my substance in terms of innovative comedy and wit, it is hard for it to get away with scenes where its low budget becomes very apparent.

It seems Paramount Studios is aware of the film’s potentially limited appeal that could stem from its low budget and niche comedic approach, as they have decided to release the movie on Video on Demand just 17 days after its initial theatric release.

Despite its shortcomings, the trailer does manage to jam-pack a slew of insane gore filled scenes, over-the-top humor and all the stereotypical sexual innuendo you would expect from a team of teenage boy scouts who team up with a tall blonde cocktail waitress in attempt to save the world.

In addition, although the film stars mainly young up-and-comers, it does have some cameos from more prominent comedians such as Cloris Leachman, who has been on numerous comedy sitcoms (including Malcolm in the Middle and Raising Hope), as well as Anchorman and The Office’s David Koechner.

Furthermore, although Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse may not be bringing the most innovative and witty humor to the screen, it does deliver on over-the-top, NSFW comedy that is evidently appealing to some.

It will probably draw in the crowds that will take any excuse they can from being dragged to the latest “based on a true story” horror flick. So come Halloween, it is up to you whether you want to see teenage boys blowing up zombie strippers or “real-life” ghost stories caught on a family’s video camera (which you can see inParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension that comes out around Halloween as well).

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse will open in theatres on October 30th, and will be available to stream on-demand on November 16th.

Soccer Deals: Pedro to Chelsea & Nickolas Otamendi to Manchester City

pedro moves to chelsea soccer 2015 imagesNickolas Otamendi and Pedro have joined the ranks at Manchester City and Chelsea respectively, ending the speculations linking them with the Premier League giants Manchester United.

In the pre-match conference before the Newcastle game, United’s Dutch manager Louis van Gaal trashed the rumors by suggesting that media created the rumors and the club was never interested in both the La Liga players.

Otamendi was included in La Liga Team of the season 2014/15and he can form a regular pairing with Kompany in the heart of City defense. Manuel Pellegrini is glad after signing the Argentine center back from Valencia.

Pellegrini said, “I think we needed another centre-back. We analysed different options and we decided he was the best. He is a very good player, who is improving every year. He will be important for our team.

“He is an established international for one of the best nations in world football and I have no doubt that he has the right mentality to fit into a squad where he will find many familiar faces, including Eliaquim [Mangala] and Fernando, who he played alongside in Portugal.”

Otamendi, who was allegedly keen to move to Manchester United, put pen to paper a five-year deal worth £32m and also claimed that joining City was a dream come true for him.

“To be here inside a club that looks so wonderful from the outside is a dream,” said the 27-year-old ex-Porto player.

It is also believed that the former Premier League champions are in advanced stages of signing Kevin de Bryune from Wolfsburg. The former Chelsea player has been City’s target throughout the summer transfer window and will soon complete the deal which is believed to be of more than 50mn pounds.

Jose Mourinho won’t be happy to see yet another former Chelsea player play for their title rivals. The Blues boss has had a tough start to the season. The West Londoners lost to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in the Community Shield and have earned only a point from the opening two games in the league.

The newly crowned champions need to get back to the winning ways and their latest signing could be the catalyst to yet another silverware winning season for the Blues. Pedro has won it all with club and country and he has joined the Londoners for more game time. Pedro will wear number 17 jersey, whereas his fellow new signing Baba Rahman will now wear his preferred number 6 jersey.

After completing his move to the Stamford Bridge, the diminutive Spaniard told the official club website: He said: “I am very happy to be here. I am very excited to start my adventure at Chelsea and I am here to keep winning titles.

“Thanks to the club and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to put the blue shirt on.

Manchester United are believed to divert their attention to Thomas Muller and Greizmann after ending their interest in Barcelona’s star man.

Arsenal vs Liverpool: Barclays Premier League Preview

0

premiere league arsenal vs liverpool 2015 imagesYet another treat for the English Premier League fans as on Monday Arsenal invite the Merseyside giants Liverpool for a crunch tie at the Emirates Stadium. Both the English giants have equally good squad and none of them would want to concede defeat in their first big match of the season.

Brendan Rodger’s Liverpool have won both their league games so far but the Gunners stuttered in the opening match of the season. Wenger’s men defeated the Premier League champions Chelsea in the Community Shield but lost to Slaven Bilic’s West Ham. They picked up three points in their second fixture of the season, where they traveled to Selhurst Park to face Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace. Liverpool fared well in their test against Stoke City, the team which beat them 6 – 1 in the last match of the 2014/15 season.

Liverpool won both the fixtures with a marginal 1 – 0 wins. Coutinho saved Brendan Rodgers’ blushes in the 86th minute against Stoke City while the new signing Christian Benteke netted the winner against the newly promoted Bournemouth. Over the last six matches, including the pre-season friendlies, Liverpool have a very slight upper hand over their opponents this week. Liverpool have won all matches except a 1 – 1 stalemate against Malaysia XI last month. Arsenal have won five but they dropped points after the loss to West Ham.

Although the North Londoners have a very good recent record against the Reds. Arsenal have lost only one game out of seven while playing Liverpool (W4 D2 L1). Arsenal’s French striker Olivier Giroud will be making his 100th appearance for the club on Monday. Giroud has scored 42 goals in 99 matches for the Gunners. Only Henry (59), Wright (56) and Adebayor (44) have better record than Giroud, if we consider the number of goals in the first 100 matches. Although, Giroud can take over Adebayor if he scores a hat-trick in the game versus Liverpool. This particular fixture has seen more hat-tricks (5) than any other match in the Premier League history.

Liverpool have a great defensive record so far in the league this season. Brendan Rodgers’ men have allowed the opponents a combined three shots on target, which is fewer than any other side has managed.

In terms of results it’s been pleasing,” Brendan Rodgers said. “In terms of our defensive organisation it’s been good. I think as we grow the fluency in our game will become better and the level of our football will improve, but that’s just time.”

The former Swansea manager has also praised their new Belgian acquisition.
“I thought Christian was a real handful. His hold-up play is outstanding. He has a wonderful touch for a big guy and can control the game… I’ve not had another who could do that up front in the three years I’ve been here. It is one reason we brought him in. Once the players get used to that and see it, it will give us more opportunities. That will grow over the coming months.”
Arsene Wenger, on the other hand, showered praise on Theo Walcott who has completed nine years at the North London club.

“He is a man today; when he arrived here he was a boy, a little boy who discovered a world where he did not know anything about it.

“Of course he had to go through bad injuries and disappointments and I believe he is a man today, a man who knows what he wants and has been faithful to our club. It was a great signing.”

Novak Djokovic vs Alexandr Dolgopov: Cincinnati Masters 2015

0

novak djokovic beats wawrinka cincinnati masters 2015The quarterfinals were played at the 2015 Cincinnati Masters on Friday, four matches that featured most of the top players in the world. With the results, Saturday’s semifinals are now set with Sunday’s final to follow.

The first match of the day featured World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in what appeared to be a challenging match-up against French Open champion Stan Wawrinka. It was the first meeting between the two players since the Swiss No. 2 defeated Djokovic in the Roland Garros final a couple months ago.

However, in Cincinnati, Wawrinka failed to recapture the magical tennis that he had in Paris earlier this year. Djokovic had little trouble in dismissing the Swiss, winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.

After the match Djokovic claimed that it was the best tennis he’d played in the Western & Southern Open this season:

“It was the best performance I had so far this week,” the World No. 1 stated. “It came at the right time against one of my biggest rivals and the guy I lost to last time we played in the finals of the French Open.”

Wawrinka, whose next match will be in Flushing Meadows, made the following comments after the loss:

“I’m generally happy with my tournament,” he said. “I know where I am. There are a lot of positives to take from this week winning two tough match without playing my best tennis, fighting, staying there. I think my level is there. I’m happy with what I did this week. I’m excited for US Open.”

Djokovic is currently trying to become the first player to win all nine of the Masters Series events. With two more victories in Cincinnati this weekend, he would do just that.

novak djokovic vs alexandr dolgopolov cincinnati masters 2015 imagesNext up for Djokovic is a somewhat surprising semifinalist. Alexandr Dolgopolov, a qualifier in Cincinnati, may be getting back to the kind of tennis he played in the earlier parts of this decade. The Ukrainian defeated Tomas Berdych 6-4, 6-2 on Friday to advance to his first Cincinnati semifinal. Looking ahead at that semifinal, one would certainly expect Djokovic to advance to the championship match. He owns a 4-0 record against Dolgopolov, although the Ukrainian managed to take a set when they met in Miami earlier this season.

On the bottom half of the draw both Andy Murray and Roger Federer advanced. Murray advanced at the expense of Richard Gasquet, winning the match in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. By the end of the match the Scot seemed as though he was labouring on court, perhaps tired after playing in so many matches recently. Tennis fans will recall that Murray won the Canadian Masters just last week and, accordingly, he could be nearly spent as the semifinals loom.

Federer, who has won in Cincinnati numerous times, was very efficient in claiming his spot in this year’s semifinals. The Swiss No. 1 defeated Feliciano Lopez in straight sets, something Federer has often done when the two players have met over the years. Federer commented after his victory over the Spaniard:

“I did feel good, especially in the first set,” he claimed. “In the second set a little less maybe. It was also an important game to hold being down Love-40. That’s exactly the kind of match it can become. As an experienced tennis player, I’m aware that matches can turn around extremely quickly.”

Federer holds a 13-11 winning record against Murray. When one factors in that the World No. 3 should be the fresher of the two players, it further implies that it will be Federer that will be in the final on Sunday.

The Order of Play for Saturday is as follows:

CENTER start 1:00 pm (EDT)

ATP – [1] N. Djokovic (SRB) vs [Q] A. Dolgopolov (UKR)
ATP – [3] A. Murray (GBR) vs [2] R. Federer (SUI)

Ellen Page Takes On Ted Cruz & One Direction Drops One

ellen page takes on ted cruz 2015 gossipJuno star Ellen Page has made some headlines as her confrontation with Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz went viral. You can check out the entire unedited clip just below.

The State Senator was at the Iowa State Fair on Friday when the 28-year-old actress, who came out as gay in February 2014, decided to question him about some of his bold stances against the LGBT community.

Previously Cruz has talking about persecuting gays in the workplace, as well as limiting the rights of the LGBT community. He has been strongly opposed to gay marriage and is a big supporter of the controversial religious freedom bill.

ABC News released the video where Ellen is heard asking Senator Cruz, “What about the question about LGBT people being fired for being gay-trans?” In which he answers. “Well, what we’re seeing right now, we’re seeing Bible-believing Christians being persecuted for…”

Page then interrupts, finishing his sentence with, ”discriminating against LGBT people.”

Ted responds, “No, for living according to their faith.”

After Page then asks, “Well, would you use that argument in segregation?”

Senator Cruz tries to avoid the argument with Page replying, “Now I’m happy to answer your question, but not to have a back-and-forth debate.”

However he continues to explain his views to her saying, “No one has the right to force someone else to abandon their faith and their conscience. Imaging, hypothetically you had a gay florist and imagine two evangelicals wanted to get married and they decide, ‘you know what, I disagree with your faith and I don’t want to provide flowers.’ The gay florist has every right to say ‘If I disagree with your faith, and I don’t want to participate, you know what, there are lots of people you can buy flowers from’…Just like we don’t have the right to force a Jewish rabbi to conduct a Christian wedding.”

According to onlookers at the fair, Page and the Senator went back and forth for over 5 minutes. In addition, Senator Cruz was apparently unaware that the person asking him the questions was well-known actress Ellen Page.

The Hollywood Reporter has claimed that the exchange will appear on an upcoming show Page is hosting for Vice Media called Gaycation with Ellen Page.

one direction drag me down 2015 gossipOne Direction surprised fans, as they dropped their music video for “Drag Me Down” early Friday. This marks the bands first music video since Zayn Malik quit. You can check out the video just below.

The video is shot at NASA’s Johnston Space Center in Houston where the boys were filmed in a full-scale replica of the Orion spacecraft. Niall, Louis, Harry and Liam all don orange spacesuits that match the ones seen on real astronauts during launches and landings.

Each of the band members gets their own personalized segment in the video. Niall, 21, is seen strapped into the Partial Gravity Simulator, Liam, 21, is shown working inside a replica of the International Space Station laboratory, Harry, 21, interacts with a human-like robot and Louis, 23, steers the Space Exploration Vehicle rover.

Since dropping the video, “Directioners” have been flooding social media with praise for the boy band’s latest work. Some of the tweets include:

No Glory, Gene Simmons Child Porn Raid & Dr Dre Sorry for the Hits

Friday is here and this has been a very interesting week in the world of celebrity news and gossip. Glory Johnson gets no support from Brittany Grier, Tamar Braxton feels the IRS heat, Gene Simmons house gets raided and Dr. Dre apologizes many years too late.

glory johnson denied spouse support 2015 gossipGlory Johnson Denied Spousal Support

Look I get it. It’s one of the oldest plays in the book. You marry someone with money, it doesn’t work out, you ask for alimony. But really Glory Johnson, you wanted Brittany Grier to pay you how much a month?

The insane monthly request of $20,000 denied by an Arizona judge (and rightfully so) was only for temporary spousal support, but honestly, Johnson asking for anything at all is a slap in the face. I mean, they both are WNBA players, they both make pretty damn decent money and probably the biggest “I mean” they were only married for 28 freaking days before it all fell apart! But as the trooper she is, in the face of the court’s decision, she’s good.

“I feel relieved and thankful now that this stressful situation is coming to an end. I was honest throughout this entire painful experience, and I have no regrets. Now, I feel like I am finally free to focus on the things in my life that really matter.”

Her spirits are up and she does have a lot of things to look forward to. She is going to be a mom to twins and she still has her basketball career. Plus a family that I am sure will be there for her.

As for Griner, she of course argued that she could not afford that much a month and is overjoyed for the ruling. Especially since the judge’s overall ruling says that she owes her NO money for alimony purposes or attorney’s fees.

tamar braxton tax problems 2015 gossipTamar Braxton and Husband hit with $600 Thousand Tax Lien

The advantages of being rich and famous are many and can take you to places that others only dream. On the downside, the disadvantages at times can be unbearable for anyone, regardless of their bank account.

The Real co-host Tamar Braxton is once again in the hot seat over money and this time, it’s nearly one million dollars that has her seeing red. Reports are swirling that Tamar and her husband Vincent owe the IRS back taxes in California and New York, which total just a little bit over $600,000. That’s a lot to digest.

It’s always so interesting to me when these super stars owe money to the IRS. Clearly they don’t have the right people around them to make sure they have their shit together. I just hope she and her boo take care of this before it gets to the point of no return.

gene simmons child porn raid house 2015 gossipGene Simmons House Raided for Child Porn?

Is this the norm in Hollywood? These famous people with a whole bunch of money don’t have anything else to do (because they’ve done it all) so they turn to child porn?

With the shocking revelation of ex-Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle accepting a plea deal for child porn charges, the most recent celebrity “busted” for a similar situation is Kiss bassist Gene Simmons.

Well, he wasn’t exactly busted for child born but a search warrant was served to his Los Angeles home. However, the rocker and his family are not considered suspects. As the story goes, the search warrant has something to do with a possible crime that was committed on his property in 2014 while he was away on tour.

Details are still forthcoming about what exactly occurred and how/why it happened as his home, but the very fact that child porn and Gene Simmons are mentioned in the same sentence is definitely not a good look.

dr dre sorry for hitsDr. Dre Apologizes for History of Abuse Against Women

There was obviously really no way for Dr. Dre to get around not addressing the fact that he left out a lot of damning facts about his own personal history in the blockbuster movie Straight Outta Compton. The film has gotten mixed reviews from people on all sides with the movie glossing over Dr. Dre.’s woman abuse being one of the main reasons why.

While he tried as long as he could to dismiss it, he could no longer get away with it and thus has released a statement pretty much apologizing for what he has done in the past.

“Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did. I’ve been married for 19 years and every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way. I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again.”

His statement was very much needed and while it probably isn’t enough for some people, I am sure that Dre’s hope is that people will accept it, move on from it and let it go.

National League Winners & Losers Week 19 MLB

jason degrom national league bulge winner week 19 2015The question many fans asked entering the 2015 Major League Baseball season was which team would come out on top? That question has yet to be decided but one thing is for certain and the top candidate to fill in that list is the St. Louis Cardinals from the National League Central.

While we have had them on this list for a few weeks now all they do is find a way to continue to win ball games. The team’s recent stretch including winning six of there past ten games including picking up series wins against division rivals the Pittsburgh Pirates as well as the Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants.
As the Cardinals have landed on the National League Winners list another top team has landed on our Losers List. That team is once again the Washington Nationals who continue to disappoint there fans as well as the experts all over the country who had them as the best team in the National League.

That has clearly not been the case for parts of this season including the team’s recent stretch. Over there last ten games, the Nationals have managed to pick up just three wins. Those wins came against the Los Angeles Dodgers and two against the Colorado Rockies. The seven losses included losing four straight to the Giants in San Francisco.

That being said here is our list of the top winners and losers around the National League over the past few ten days.

National League Winners:

National League Central: We could have easily put the Cardinals, Pirates and Chicago Cubs each on this list by themselves. In the end we elected to just put the entire division on there simply because of these three teams. Entering Thursday, The Cardinals held the best record in all of baseball while the Pirates had the second best record in the National League while the Cubs were tied with the first place Dodgers for the third best record. This was a division that many people wondered who would win the division and be the sole representation for the Central.

Kyle Schwarber, Chicago Cubs: For Cubs fans this should be one of the most exciting seasons they could remember in a long time. Not only because of how well they have played on the field but also for all the top talent they have gotten a chance to watch this season including players like Kris Bryant as well as Schwarber. Schwarber has not put up the big batting average number over the past seven games but has connected for ten home runs and 10 runs driven in.

Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants: The hunt for October is on and big game Bumgarner has turned on a switch once again over his last three games. In that stretch, the Giants ace has picked up three wins while allowing just two earned runs over 25.1 innings with 35 strikeouts.

Jacob deGrom, New York Mets: Yes the Mets continue to find a way to hold on to the top spot in the National League East. Much of that success can be put on the shoulders of the teams pitching staff including deGrom as well as the rest of the rotation. The Mets starter has allowed just one run over his last 14.2 innings while not allowing more than two runs in his last seven starts and no more than three runs in his last ten starts.

Other National League Winners include Clayton Kershaw, the Miami Marlins, Jake Arrieta, the San Diego Padres, Stephen Strasburg, Dexter Fowler and Dee Gordon.

National League Losers:

Atlanta Braves: Since we already talked about the Nationals in the top part the other team that has struggled of late has been the Atlanta Braves. After sticking around in the division for a while this team just can’t win after dealing away much of there top talent during the offseason. The team’s recent stretch includes losing four straight as well as eight of there past ten ball games.

Tom Koehler, Miami Marlins: The Marlins starter turned in another horrific start in his last outing against the Milwaukee Brewers. In that start, Koehler managed to work just 4.1 innings while allowing nine hits including two home runs and seven earned runs while walking four Brewers. Koehlers season earned run average ballooned over four while his record dropped to just 8-11 on the season.

Jay Bruce, Cincinnati Reds: After seeing Bruce heat up before the Major League Baseball trade deadline. That heat wave has cooled of late as he has seen his season average drop to just .240 over 115 games. Over his last seven games, Bruce is hitting just .136 with three hits over 22 at bats with zero extra base hits and zero runs driven in. Are these struggles due to Bruce or has the losing in Cincinnati brought his moral down? One thing is for certain is the team might have lost out on a few nice pieces after failing to pull of a trade.

Dominic Brown, Philadelphia Phillies: After dealing with an injury the Phillies outfielder just can’t get things to go his way on the field. This includes finding himself playing as a platoon role type role including appearing as a late replacement while picking up just one hit in four of his last five games. Much of this is due to his two hits over his last 23 at bats with one of those going for a home run. The Phillies outfielder is hitting just .229 on the season with four home runs over just 53 games.

Other National League Losers include the Colorado Rockies, the Cincinnati Reds, Marlon Byrd, Buster Posey and the Philadelphia Phillies.

American League Winners & Losers Week 19 MLB

chris davis adam jones pie face american league winners week 19 2015The American League action continues to heat up as we cruise through the month of August. After seeing players and teams put together a great start to the 2015 Major League Baseball season now we are seeing them pace themselves for the 162 game grind.

As we see these players and teams heat up our list of American League Winners continue to grow. On the flip side players and teams who are taking a turn for the worst will find themselves on our American League Losers list. As we get started this week the list of candidates include a great list filled with late inning heroes, big break out games and even teams who just seem to keep finding a way to win late.

One of those teams that continue to be red hot of late is the Baltimore Orioles who have won three of there past six games in a walk off fashion. The first started on Friday Night as Manny Machado connected for a walk of home run in the bottom of the 13th. One night later Chris Davis joins that list connecting with his own walk off and the magic wrapped up this past Wednesday as Henry Urrutia connected on his first career home run coming in the bottom of the ninth to win the game for the Orioles.

All of the walk off magic earns all of them a spot on our weekly American League Winners list while a team like the Oakland A’s not only were swept by the Orioles over the weekend there bullpen allowed two walk of home runs before the team was blown out on Sunday18-2 at Camden Yards.

That being said here is our list of the top winners and losers around the American League over the past few ten days.

American League Winners:

Jackie Bradley Jr, Boston Red Sox: After a some what disappointing season from the rookie, Bradley has been red hot of late. That includes picking up ten hits in his last 20 at bats over the past seven days. In that stretch, Bradley has connected on five doubles, three home runs and 11 runs driven in. The best performance out of the Red Sox outfielder came back on August 15th, 2015 as he picked up five hits in six at bats against the Seattle Mariners including three doubles, two home runs and seven runs driven in.

Hisashi Iwakuma, Seattle Mariners: The 2015 Major League Baseball season hasn’t gone right for the Mariners in a season which many experts predicted they would compete for the division. One thing that did go right took place on August 12th, 2015 at Camden Yards as Iwakuma threw his first career no hitter in the teams 3-0 win. Iwakuma turned around in his next start allowing just two runs in seven innings against a hot Texas Rangers ball club as he improved his record to 5-2 on the season.

Kansas City Royals: Entering Thursday, the Royals had been one of the hottest teams in all of baseball including winning ten of there past twelve games. That included winning five straight games twice including taking three of four against the Los Angels Angels and two of three against division rivals the Detroit Tigers. In seven of those ten wins, the Royals pitching staff allowed three or fewer runs.

Chris Davis/Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles: The Orioles have been fun to watch of late as you never know which player next will be the hero. That being said the team’s top two players have been red hot of late as Davis picked up a walk off home run over the weekend. The two have combined to hit .321 over there past seven games with seven home runs and 14 runs driven in.

Other American League Winners include the New York Yankees, Alex Rodriguez and Johnny Cueto.

American League Losers:

Felix Hernandez, Seattle Mariners: We have all heard before that losing is very contagious and the same can be said about struggling. That happened for the Mariners ace in his last outing against the Boston Red Sox. In that game, Hernandez could not find a way to get out of the third inning as he would allow ten runs on 12 hits including three home runs.

Los Angeles Angels: Despite holding on to the second spot in the American League West, the Angels continue to hurt there own playoff hopes with there struggles. The recent stretch included winning just four of there last ten games. This stretch included being swept in Chicago by the White Sox before losing three of four to the first place Royals before returning the favor to the White Sox with a three game sweep this week.

Torii Hunter, Minnesota Twins: The long time veteran had put together a brilliant first half of the 2015 MLB season together. The same could not be said of late as he had only picked up one hit over his last 16 at bats. The recent stretch also moved his August totals to just five hits in 45 at bats with only five runs driven in. Hunter is currently batting just .235 on the season with 18 home runs.

Trevor Bauer, Cleveland Indians: Bauer had turned in some solid performances prior to his last two outings against teams in the American League East. In starts against the Red Sox and Yankees, Bauer lasted just five combined innings over two starts with 11 earned runs while seeing his earned run average ballon to 4.62 on the season.

Other American League Losers include the Oakland A’s, Minnesota Twins, Adam LaRoche and J.J. Hardy.

Josh Duggar’s Ashley Madison Confession & One Direction’s Zayn Malik Diss

one direction zayn malik diss 2015 imagesOne Direction sparked some feud rumors after they posted a “Throwback Thursday” picture on their Twitter of a screenshot from their music video for “Steal My Girl.”

The video came out in 2014, when Zayn Malik was still a member of the band, however the twitter picture only showcases the four current members – Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall.

The tweeted image is a cropped version of a shot in the video where all 5 of the former members, including Zayn, are present. However, Malik is notably missing from the band’s recent post.

Some fans have tweeted at the band, criticizing their decision to cut Zayn out of the throwback saying:

“@Onedirection you can crop Zayn out of a picture but you can’t crop him out of our memories and more than 4 years of being in the band…”

And,

“@Onedirection where’s zayn he might not be in the band anymore but he was in the video and I don’t know this video without him tbh.”

While, the band has claimed that Zayn’s departure earlier in 2015 was amicable, he has engaged in some feuding with Louis Tomlinson over Twitter after he revealed he was working with music producer Naughty Boy on some solo music.

Zayn had a following out with Naughty Boy and seemed to be once again civil with his former band mates.

Although, this latest “dig” by One Direction seems to imply that there may be some bad blood between Zayn and his former boy band crew.

One Direction, Twitter post:

josh duggar ashley madison confession 2015 gossipJosh Duggar is once again the subject of various headlines after rumors surfaced that he was a member of the site Ashley Madison, which is designed to set people up to have an affair. The site was recently hacked and therefore the information of its members was posted for the public, enabling Josh to be identified as a user.

On Thursday, the 19 Kids and Counting star took to the Duggar’s family website to confirm his membership and explain:

“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addition and I became unfaithful to my wife.”

Josh’s initial postwas soon taken down and his mention of pornography was taken out and replaced with comments about his molestation scandal that happened earlier in the year.

Social media has blown up since Josh’s new revelations and many are questioning what the fate of his marriage with Anna is. When Josh’s molestation scandal became public, Anna was quick to defend her husband and show support for his changed ways, however at this point she has remained silent about his latest Ashley Madison scandal.

Although many are begging Anna to leave Josh, it is difficult as the couple share four young children together and they are both deeply committed to their faith (therefore making divorce a very unfavorable path).

BRING IT! 217 Selena’s Makeover & Infamous Dancerettes Return

bring it selenas makeover vs infamous dancerettes recap 2015The Dancing Dolls (DD) are back this week on “Bring It” and for the summer, Miss Dee is revamping things at the Doll House every chance she gets. They compete in the Buck to the Beat competition with Ken Janae doing the solo since she is a strong hip-hop dancer. Their biggest rival this week is the Infamous Dancerettes (ID) and their coach John, who last time they met, stole their moves (DD still won though).

As the girls practice, Diana gets on the twins, Sky and Star, for their dancing, plus she can’t tell them apart which really frustrates her. Selena feels a certain kind of way about how Diana talks to her daughters and for the life of her can’t understand how Diana can’t tell who’s who. So she comes up with the brilliant idea to give them a makeover.

Meanwhile, in practice the captain battle is also up for grabs and it’s between Crystiana and Makalah which Mimi, as usual, can’t handle because her sweet Carmyn is not in the running this week. Ugh… get over Mimi. She is really becoming annoying. The girls compete against each other and Makalah gets the upper hand winning the captain stand battle spot for the week.

Following through with her grand idea, Selena takes her girls for the make over (their daddy goes too). She is determined to do what she feels has to be done to differentiate her girls. As a result, Star and Sky are late for practice, making a grand entrance with their dad escorting them in. Miss Dee is not impressed and since they did came in late, they don’t know the dance moves thus, they run the risk of being cut which one of them is- Star.

Kayla doesn’t stay for the whole practice, as she has to get ready for the prom. Her parents go as chaperones since Tina didn’t get a chance to attends hers because she was watching baby Kayla (she had her at 16). As they walk out the door all dressed up and glamorous, her dad stops them, gets down on one knee and asks Tina to marry him. It is a really sweet moment because they have been together for twenty years. Tina looks beautiful and they are a cute little family… going to prom.

bring it ken janae solo recap 2015 imagesThe day of competition is here and DD is ready to compete in the solo and stand battle competitions. John has a lot to say about Diana since they lost to them at their last meeting. Ken Janea’s solo is up and John feels a certain way about Dianna’s routine since the whole team is on the floor. “Captain’s solo” he yells across the room during their performance. No rules have been broken, however, as it says in the competition guide lines that the whole team can be utilized in the intro and exit… and Dianna makes sure we are aware of that in her confessional.

After their solo routines, Dianna and John run into each other in the hall and of course they have words, arguing back and forth about who stole who’s moves and so on. Oh the art of trash talking.

As ID goes on the floor for stand battle, DD parents and Dianna say how much better they look this time around. They battle a team from New Orleans first to determine who makes it to the final round and of course, ID advances to battle DD.

In the end, DD wins the solo competition with ID taking second place. John says that he is okay with that because they did their best. I think he’s not too worried about the solo category truthfully because it is clear that stand battle is what’s most important. Tensions run high and just about everyone in the room hold their breaths as the MC announces the stand battle winner- The Infamous Dancerettes!

Yep, DD lost this week. It is a hard one for the girls but a stark victory for John and his team. Back in the locker room, Dianna tears into the girls telling them that they missed the mark among other things.

“Ya’ll gave that away today… everybody messed up… there were too many mistakes out there today from everybody. I’ve never seen ya’ll dance so terrible… Ya’ll beat ya seleves today”

No doubt those words sting coming from Dianna as the girls sit in silence listening to her speak. Makalah in particular feels the heat as she didn’t do her best as captain for the first time.

It was a tough lesson to learn this week, but the Dancing Dolls know how to recover and reclaim their place as the top dance squad. We’ll see what happens next week.

BIG BROTHER 1724: Vanessa Slides By Again

big brother 17 24 vanessa slides again 2015 images recapVanessa proves she’s playing a great game on Wednesday night’s edition of “Big Brother,” Austin said that John made a deal with him and then flaked on it. John said he knew Vanessa was throwing him under the bus and she is his only enemy in the house and the only one he’d go after. Steve told John to stop fighting with Vanessa and get some sleep. Steve said he wanted to help John in the game because he knew John would stay loyal to him.

big brother 17 24 hoh breakdownLiz said it’s been a rough week so she wanted to pamper herself and enjoy being the queen of the house. Liz said she needed to speak to John to determine if he could be trusted. John said he had to play dumb with Vanessa so she wouldn’t blow up is game. He also said everyone who has had a blowup with Vanessa has now been evicted. John said if he aligned himself with Austin and the twins they could take out Vanessa. Liz said that the information John was giving them about Vanessa meant John could work with them.

Liz called the veto competition to a start. The randomly selected players were Austin, Meg, and Steve. Julia questioned why Liz got house guest choice and chose Austin over her to compete in the veto competition. John said he didn’t care whether or not he won the veto competition, he just wanted to show Austin and Liz that he trusts them and wants to work with them. Becky called herself a one hit wonder and said she wasn’t a well-rounded player.

This week’s veto competition was called Otev The Rock n Roll concert. Each round included one song about an evicted house guest and players had to find the stick of butter named after the evictee. Becky said winning the veto is the only way to guarantee she will stay in the game this week. John said it was best for him not to win so he could show Liz and Austin his loyalty to them. John was the first one eliminated. Austin said he had to find Shelly’s butter as soon as possible. Liz said she was scared Becky was going to take the competition. Steve said he didn’t want to win power of veto because he didn’t want to be a target for eviction. Steve was the eliminated from the veto competition. Becky fought Austin to get the correct butter, which was Clay. She said she was frustrated with herself and this competition might cost her the game. Becky was then eliminated from the veto competition. Liz said if she won power of veto Vanessa better keep her mouth shut. Meg was then eliminated from the veto competition and Becky said this sealed her fate in the game. Austin was then eliminated from the power of veto so Liz won that competition.

John said going forward he had to avoid making waves in the game. Becky said even though she lost the power of veto competition she was still going to fight to stay in the game. Liz told Vanessa she thought Becky was a threat to her. She also said that Vanessa was starting to remind her of Audrey. Austin said Vanessa was getting too nervous and questioned if he could trust her in this game.

John said it looks good for him this week because there are other people in the house that are bigger targets than him. Austin said his connection with Liz was growing. Julia asked Liz about the hickey on her neck that Austin left there. Julia said Austin is not the kind of guy you bring home to mom and dad. Vanessa told Steve she was sad and not in a good mood. She said that she was lonely and she felt like she was being targeted for eviction. Steve offered to play chess with Vanessa so she wouldn’t feel lonely. Vanessa told Liz she felt like a fourth wheel to the twins and Austin. Liz said Vanessa needed to get a grip and everyone was “sick of the show” Vanessa was putting on. Liz said she was scared that Vanessa was questioning Austin because she wanted to get him evicted and Liz didn’t want that.

Liz called the veto meeting to order. Becky told Liz that she and her allies were comfortable putting her up for eviction. John said he didn’t want to get evicted this week. Liz said she wasn’t using the power of veto on either Becky or John. Liz said she was keeping Vanessa in the game to protect her and Julia’s position in the house.
