REVIEWS

The reviews of the DBPOWER Hawkeye-II FPV Wi-Fi G-sensor Control Quadcopter show the versatility and amazing fun you can have.

One reviewer states, “Both my husband and I have had a ton of fun taking turns flying this too. It took us a few charges worth of time to start getting the hang of it. I had a bad habit of hitting walls, ceilings, my glass cabinet, my husband, and the ground outside. I accidentally chopped up some paper towels a few times too. Everything survived my bad flying, well except for the shredded paper. There isn’t even a scratch on my Drone though. My first flying attempt I was actually really nervous, my first impression didn’t say this product would hold up. It’s proved me wrong time and time again in the last two weeks”

Flying the DBPOWER Hawkeye-II FPV Wi-Fi G-sensor Control Quadcopter is also great for beginners or experts to flying as one reviewer says, “This is an excellent product. It is absolutely perfect for entry level/beginner flyers. It’s extremely easy to use and has 3 different modes for different experience levels. With the tap of a button, you can make it fly slowly and gingerly while you figure out the controls and get used to flying it, or you can put it on a super-fast and agile mode. The instruction manual is very clear and very detailed. The camera is surprising pretty good. For its small size, I was actually very impressed. I have even included a video that I filmed with it outside so you can see what it will look like”

So the DBPOWER Hawkeye-II FPV Wi-Fi G-sensor Control Quadcopter appears to pass all the tests! For flying and being able to take still photographs and view as you fly with a durable and great responsive controls choose the DBPOWER Hawkeye-II FPV Wi-Fi G-sensor Control Quadcopter! 2015 Hottest Holiday Tech RC Toys: Axial AX90034 SCX10 Jeep Wrangler G6 RC Review

2015 Hottest Holiday Tech RC Toys axial ax90034 scz10 jeep wrangler hottest tech toys 2015 imagesWith so many different RC (remote control) vehicles on the market, it can be hard, if not downright difficult, to keep up with all of them. If you are just a beginner in the RC world, picking the best one out in a short amount of time won’t exactly be easy. There’s the Axial AX90034 Jeep Wrangler G6 that I recently came across and was astonished by what I read. In fact, I liked it so much (and it seems the reviewer liked it as well), that I decided to report my findings to you all.

Jeeps seem much more bulky and like they’re designed for the rough and tumble of curb edges. If you enjoy the technical side of remote control vehicles, the Axial AX90034 SCX10 is definitely a kit to look into. Unlike other models out there, you can’t just take it out and off you go. It requires a little more commitment than that, and a bit of time to learn exactly how it works.

Once built, the model itself looks pretty sturdy and realistic and has a nice finish to it – as well as the pride of building it yourself. It’s great for people who don’t want to drive them too, allowing it to be built and placed on a shelf without the need to try it out on the road or carpet.

Don’t forget to check out our Cool Stuff reviews for the inside scoop and reviews of everything everyone in your life will want this holiday season and beyond. Also, keep checking here for daily Goldbox Deals and more that can really keep your holiday budget in check.

In the box:

  • A complete kit
  • Foam inserts
  • Shock oil
  • Decals (stickers)
  • Wheels
  • Tires

This isn’t the kit for you if you like to be able to take a product out of the box and have it ready to go in under ten minutes.

What you get in the box is what you need to start building your Jeep Wrangler,  but not everything you need in order to get it moving and running very quickly. You need to spend the time to put it together before it can even be considered to use it.

It’s a great gift for yourself or anyone who enjoys a little bit of manual labour or a challenge when it comes to building and engineering, with a little bit of electrical work. Luckily, if it is something you’re interested in, you don’t necessarily need experience in it as it comes with a very detailed manual to ensure that you can get up and running as quickly as you’re capable of.

If you’re unsure, too, there are instructional videos available online on places like YouTube so that you can get the basic idea of what you’re doing.

Getting It Running

Once it’s built, in order to actually use it – if that’s your aim – it does require you to buy the additional parts, such as the controller and the transmitter. You need to get the radio separately, too. The only thing that comes in the box is the stuff to make the model, not the items to run the model.

The Pros

  • Fun to build
  • Great detail
  • Upgrades available in the kit
  • Flexibility to customise it

The Cons

  • Not out of box ready
  • Additional parts needed in order to run it

Overall

This is one that I’d suggest more for people who like the models more than the remote control aspect of it, as it can be costly once you’ve bought all the pieces. If you have the money to spare, however, it’s worth looking into as it has much more flexibility on what pieces you can use, and what power you can give it.

It’s a great model, with brilliant design and attention to detail and looks sturdy once it’s been built up, but it can take a bit of time and might require additional research to ensure it’s all working correctly.  Check here for the best deals as these pricey toys can be had for great bargains during holiday times.

Eagles of Death Metal Visit Paris Theater They Survived

eagles of death visit paris theater 2015 gossip

Band members of the Eagles of Death Metal returned to the ravaged Bataclan theatre in Paris one month after surviving a massacre by Islamic extremist suicide bombers.

Solemn and silent, they came to the now-shuttered Bataclan Theater in eastern Paris, whose facade has become a shrine to the 89 people killed inside. Band members laid flowers at the site under a persistent December rain, some embracing as they stared at the wreaths, notes and banners heaped high in mourning and tribute.

Singer Jesse Hughes covered his face as he paced pack and forth. Drummer Julian Dorio wiped away tears.

On that fateful Friday night, the band members dispersed to escape the carnage, one running upstairs, others slipping out a side door. They all ended up at the police station.

Drummer Julien Dorio said in an emotional interview with Vice and HBO that he “bailed off my stool” with the initial shots.

“I saw two guys out front, and that might be the most awful thing ever, is them relentlessly shooting into the audience,” he said.

Co-founder Hughes said in the interview that he wants the group to return to the Bataclan when the concert venue reopens.

The band made a surprise return to Paris and performed with U2 on Monday night, their first onstage appearance since the Nov. 13 attacks that killed 130 people overall in Paris.

U2 were playing the last of four concerts in Paris, two of which had been postponed when France announced a state of emergency following the attacks.

U2 frontman Bono told the audience they said he wanted to introduce “some people whose lives will forever be a part of this city of Paris. These are our brothers. Our fellow troubadours. They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago, and we would like to offer them ours tonight.”

The two bands then played the Patti Smith song “People Have the Power.”

The other co-founder of Eagles of Death Metal, Joshua Homme, not present in Paris on the fateful night, said in the Vice interview that the band was struck with the “shared heroism” of Parisians, as injured fans helped each other and others came from their homes to help.

“We represent the fans that did not make it, the people that did not make it, whose stories may never get told,” he said.

On Monday night, Hughes told U2 and the crowd, “We love you too, so much for giving us this opportunity. I look around and what do I see, nos amis, our friends. I f—ing love you guys so hard, and I will never stop rocking and rolling.”

Steph Curry Defends Wife, NeNe Leakes Cool On RHOA & Omarion Quits

Omarion and Arpyl Jones are quitting “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood,” NeNe Leakes is hedging her bets and kept her other NeNe from lashing out at the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and Steph Curry took up the Twitter fight for his wife Ayesha.

omarion arpyl jones quit love hip hop hollywood 2015 gossipOmarion and Arpyl Jones Not Returning to Love and Hip Hop Hollywood

If you thought it a little suspicious that Omarion and his baby momma Apryl Jones were not at the Love and Hip Hop Hollywood reunion show, you were right to think so. According to her, they will not be returning for a third season next year. Apryl told Essence,

“We’ve never been worried about the ‘show curse’ because when we walked into Love & Hip Hop we were prepared for what they were going to put us in and they had a lot of respect for Omari and I. We knew we would be okay walking in and walking out.”

It is clear that the couple didn’t really fit the dramatic profile of the show. Maybe last season when Apryl was pregnant and had her issues with Omarion’s mother, but this season, the entirety of their storyline focused on their lack of sex after the she had the baby and Apryl wanting to get back to making music.

To say that their drama-less segments were refreshing goes against the grain of the show. There’s no doubt that Mona Scott Young is about ratings by any means necessary. So the real question then comes down to were Apryl and Omarion fired or did they leave the show willingly?

“In the second season they put me with a group of people but I got along with everyone. I don’t like to gossip or be in other people’s problems. There wasn’t much that I was going to give even if I were to be put in those [dramatic] situations and [the producers] knew that.”

Either way, I think it’s safe to say that the two got what they needed from the show as Omarion’s music career has been revived.

nene leakes tones it down on rhoa 2015 gossipNeNe Leakes Cool on RHOA… Calls Out The View Hosts

Last night, NeNe Leakes appeared on Watch What Happens Next and was surprisingly… nice. It seems like a far-fetched idea for someone like her who clearly thinks she is above and beyond the other ladies (a lot of ladies) on the show. But when asked by Andy about various storylines on the show, she kept it classy and cool.

This was a surprise to a lot of people because she is more known for shade than for being nice, but don’t get it twisted, her new found peace can be lost the moment someone tries to come for her.

Along with giving her thoughts on the current season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, when asked about the drama that took place on The View when she appeared on the show November 17th, she didn’t hold back. According to her, there were all kinds of shade and negativity thrown her way and she wasn’t having it.

When Andy asked, “What happened on The View” she replied,

“Oh, yes, honey. Let’s read The View. What do you need to know…Well, I didn’t see any of those ladies that’s on the panel until I actually walked on the panel. And I felt like they were not kind to me. I just…honestly, they weren’t kind. It’s not even ‘felt like.”

Most of the heat came from Joy Bahr who thought it nothing to ask NeNe some pretty rude questions, but Raven Symone apparently drank her cup of haterade that morning too.

“It was more than Joy…Now, Joy was definitely throwing a lot of shade, but there was someone else on the panel that threw shade as well, as far as looking me up and down. Now, we were live, so as far as what the cameras shot or showed, I don’t know. But I could tell you that there were a couple of people on that panel who were very shady.”

Talk about not holding back and in true NeNe fashion, she ended her take on the ladies of The View with some signature shade.

“I know all of them are tired: their hairstyles are tired, their makeup is tired. Whatever.”

Steph Curry Defends Wife ayesha 2015 gossipSteph Curry Defends Wife after Twitter Backlash Over Modesty Comments

While Steph Curry didn’t respond via his own social media on what his wife said that sparked all kinds of hate and shade, he did tell reporter Rosalyn Gold-Onwude his thoughts, who then shared it via her Twitter.

“Steph Curry said all Ayesha did was express her style preference. It was not a judgment.”

According to Gold-Onwude, Steph is proud of his wife “because she stayed upbeat through the attention. She didn’t let the negativity in.”

Ayesha Curry commented on the state of fashion and how she prefers to wear clothing that covers her body because she believes it is for her husband. Women criticized her for everything from her slut shamming to accusing her of thinking she is better than women who choose to take their clothes off.

Haters! Don’t come for her because she told the truth. Have some class.

10 Things Every Hardcore Sports Fan Wants This Christmas

10 Things Every Sports Fan Wants This Christmas 2015 iamgesSports fans can sometimes be the easiest and hardest people to please during the holiday season as they know exactly what they want, and beware if you give them something less. When it comes to sports memorabilia, it’s a very tricky area as there as so many shysters out there willing to sell you what appears to be genuine articles, but they are far from that.

Well, we decided to help save you some time by putting together a list of the top 10 hottest trending sports memorabilia gifts for 2015. There’s something for fans of every sport on here, and we even put together a budget-friendly version for those of you trying not to break the bank this season.

Don’t forget to check out our Cool Stuff reviews for the inside scoop and reviews of everything everyone in your life will want this holiday season and beyond. Also, keep checking here for daily Goldbox Deals and more that can really keep your holiday budget in check.

Without further ado, here’s the Movie TV Tech Geeks News Top 10 Sports Memorabilia List for 2015:

buster posey signed baseball batBuster Posey Signed Baseball Bat:

Normally winning the World Series makes you pretty popular. The San Francisco Giants may not have won it all this year, but Posey’s high-demand hasn’t totally worn off just yet. Any SF Giants fan would be glad to wake up with this under the tree. You should be able to find a nice MLB bat signed by Posey for about $450 and up.

tom brady autographed patriots helmetTom Brady Signed Patriots Helmet:

Some things just never go out of style. No better example than Manning and Brady memorabilia. Any New England Patriots fan would break down in tears at the sight of one of these beauties. Brady doesn’t come cheap, however, otherwise everyone would have one of these. Think of the $1000 price tag as a buy-in for an exclusive club of Brady helmet owners.

petyon manning signed footballPeyton Manning Signed NFL Football:

Manning is in the same boat as Brady in that his stuff just doesn’t go out of style. With all the records he’s been breaking, there’s never been a better time to grab a Manning autograph. In fact, the Manning signed football was the No. 1 seller from the 2014 season. A Manning ball will be around $500, but I would highly recommend going for one of the great inscribed balls out there. “NFL Rec 55 TDs 5,477 yds” is my personal favorite ($750).

floyd mayweather manny pacquiao glovesFloyd Mayweather Jr & Manny Pacquiao Signed Boxing Gloves:

It doesn’t get much better than a set of boxing gloves signed by the two greatest boxers of our generation (or ‘The Best Ever’ if you ask Mayweather). You could even frame them with some pictures of the fight. The pair will probably run you about $500-800 depending on the deals you can find. Not bad at all for two legends of the sport. Muhammad Ali’s signature is a good $2000 right now.

mike trout baseball sports memorabiliaMike Trout Signed Baseball:

You know we had to get the Los Angeles Angels slugger and 2014 AL MVP on here somewhere. Trout has only been in the MLB since 2011 and he already has an awards list longer than half the league combined. The best part is, a Trout baseball is only about $200. A great balance of price and amazing.

jordan spietch golf ballJordan Spieth Signed Golf Shirt, Flag or Golf ball:

Here’s another on top of his sport right now. Sorry, Tiger, but Spieth is the hottest golfer right now (well, Rickie Fowler is pretty cute too), so it’s time to pick up one of those badass golf polos signed by No. 1 in the world. The auto will run you about $800, but can you really put a price on a golf fanatic’s smile? Yeah, you can…$800.

anthony davis pelicans signed shirtAnthony Davis Signed Pelicans Jersey:

Anthony Davis is quickly emerging as the best in the world. In fact, most people already consider him top three. Unfortunately, you aren’t early enough to grab a couple of cheap autos before he takes off. A signed New Orleans Pelicans jersey will be about $550, but you may be able to find a Kentucky jersey for about $450. A LeBron James jersey is about $900, so consider it an investment.

aaron rodgers autograph 2015Aaron Rodgers Signed Anything:

I would say Aaron Rodgers signed football or Aaron Rodgers signed jersey, but anything this man touches nowadays turns to gold. Aaron’s autograph will run you about $250 for a photo, but you can bring that all the way to about $600 for a signed Packers helmet.

steph curry ball autographedSteph Curry Signed “NBA Champs” Basketball:

The Chef remains one of the hottest buys in the basketball world. It’s been a couple of months since he took home the Larry O’Brien, but a “World Champs” or “NBA Champs” inscribed ball is still a must-have for any Golden State fan (or any LeBron hater that hopped on the bandwagon). The signed ball with the inscription starts at about $500.

LeBron James Signed Jersey:

The King is back. Not like he went anywhere. I guess I should say The King is still No. 1. No basketball fan, even a huge James hater, would turn down one of these. There are plenty of options out there between the current Cleveland Cavaliers jerseys, throwbacks, Miami Heat, Team USA, All-Star, etc. You can expect to pay around $900 for the hottest piece of the year.

‘The Voice’ 924 Madi & Jordan Steal Show While Blake Chows Down On Gwen

the voice 924 madi jordan steal show while blake chows down on gwen 2015 imagesTonight was the biggest night thus far for the contestants on NBC’s The Voice. In the Live Semi-Finals, the 9 remaining artists took the stage to perform for a spot in the Top 4. Subsequently, this means that it will be the end of the road for 5 of the artists tomorrow night, depending on how they perform.

In addition to the Top 9 artists performing, The Voice also welcomes artist Ellie Goulding to sing her hit “On My Mind,” and coach Blake Shelton – aka the Cowboy – takes the stage to sing his new song, “Gonna.” Blake also showed a little PDA with Gwen Stefani tonight too.

So here is the recap of the performances from tonight:

Barrett Baber

Team Blake

“Ghost” by Ella Henderson

The first performance of the night was from Barrett Baber, one of the remaining country artists in the competition. This week he decides to take on a pop song and put his own country spin on it.

Unfortunately, the whole performance was hard to watch and listen to. Not only were Barrett’s vocals off-putting throughout, but also the overall execution – including the visuals, background instrumentals, and out-of-place choir – were lacking cohesion. I wasn’t a fan of Barrett before this week and I think this is finally the performance that will send him home.

Of course the judges can’t say any of that and pile on the disingenuous praises to Barrett – as they do with 99% of the time. It is times like these that I miss the good ol’ Simon Cowell days on American idol, where he wouldn’t shy away from giving his blunt, honest – often harsh – opinion. Nonetheless, we are stuck with the Blake-Adam romance, Pharrell’s weird fashion sense and Gwen’s ever-changing hairstyles (she seemed to be channeling her inner Legolas today).

Shelby Brown

Team Adam

“Even God Must Get the Blues” by Jo Dee Messina

Shelby chooses to sing one of her favorite songs, but fears that it might not be the wisest choice, as not many people know it. Adam advises her to go for it and “make people know the song.” However, I think Shelby had the right gut instinct and could have made a much more suitable song choice as she tries to win a spot in the finals.

Nonetheless, she moves ahead with “Even God Must Get the Blues,” but has troubles during rehearsals due to a lack of confidence. Adam claims that Shelby is one of the – if not the – best singer left in the competition, but her overthinking takes away from her talent.

Shelby delivers a nearly flawless vocal performance, but she continues to lack any spark or personality while on stage, which I think will ultimately be her downfall. In addition, during her big run at the end she hit a sour note or two, which I think she even noticed. Shelby’s voice got her this far, but I don’t think it will be able to get her any further as we approach the big cut tomorrow night.

Jeffrey Austin

Team Gwen

“Believe” by Cher

Jeffrey decides to create his own version of the Cher classic, “Believe.” During rehearsals, Gwen notes that it almost becomes like an “Elton John song,” as Jeffrey incorporates a slower, more laidback vibe to the hit.

I really liked Jeffrey Austin in past weeks, but I didn’t particularly feel tonight was his best. There were quite a few times where it sounded like he was missing the notes – but it could have easily been from his attempt to force his artistry into the song as much as possible. In addition, they had people popping out of lit up doors behind him, which was more distracting than anything else. If it helps, Jeffrey definitely won for weirdest background visuals of the season.

Ultimately, I still like Jeffrey as a singer so I wouldn’t be upset to see him in the finals. He definitely got some glowing reviews from the coaches (surprise, surprise), which might help him win over some voters.

Braiden Sunshine

Team Gwen

“Amazing Grace”

At this point, I think even Braiden realizes he is singing on borrowed time. In his tape from the week of rehearsals, Braiden cries and claims that Gwen is like a “mom” to him. Evidently, trying to grab the audience in any way possible. You’re not fooling me Braiden!

He hopes to evoke his emotional connection with the gospel hymn. From the get-go, Braiden’s eyes seem to be glistened over. Surprisingly, he makes it through his performance without choking up. Although his vocals were relatively stable and stronger this week, the song choice was bland and just didn’t add any appeal to him as an artist  – especially one that is trying to make it in today’s music industry.

Zach Seabaugh

Team Blake

“The Climb” by Miley Cyrus

Zach decides to shake things up this week with a Miley Cyrus hit. Although in the past weeks Zach has relied heavily on his visual performance, this week he is attempting to showcase his vocals – seeing as he is on The Voice.

I was pleasantly surprised by Zach’s vocals this week. With all of his dancing and other antics, I never took him to be a serious vocal artist. However, with this song he was able to showcase his strong lower register. Unfortunately, it did begin to drag so I am not too sure about his fate in the competition.

Madi Davis

Team Pharrell

“Big Girls Don’t Cry” by The Four Seasons

Madi tries to go back to her gigs from before The Voice, with a song that she is very comfortable with. Although Madi has a strong voice, it is nice to see her take on a more light-hearted tune, where she almost gives off Amy Vachal (Team Adam) vibes.

With an elaborate café set-up on stage, Madi shows off her versatility and dynamics flawlessly throughout her performance. I was starting to doubt whether any singer would really stand out tonight, but then Madi took the stage. Simply. Amazing.

Emily Ann Roberts

Team Blake

“9 to 5” by Dolly Parton

17-year-old Emily decides to take on one of her idols, Dolly Parton’s most well known songs. Blake advises her to keep her blue-grass vibe when performing the song.

This week, Emily’s performance was very up beat and fun to watch. She definitely looks like a country star.  Although her vocals are as close to perfect as one can get, I still think she has some work to do in terms of stage presence and connecting with the audience. At times it looks like her eyes are staring blindly ahead as she tries to imagine what lyrics come next. Fortunately, she did get more and more comfortable as the performance went on.

Amy Vachal

Team Adam

“Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan

Braiden wasn’t the only one crying during her video confessional; Amy also couldn’t help but get emotional, while thinking about her whole experience on The Voice. Unsurprisingly, Amy opts for another slow-paced, light performance but hopes to evoke sincere emotion this week.

Unfortunately, I didn’t think her performance tonight was as memorable as her past few. She didn’t incorporate as much of her own artistry as I was expecting – but she did have a few really raw, beautiful moments. Nonetheless, she has been in the Top 10 on iTunes for 3 weeks now, so I think (and hope) she will make it to the finals.

Jordan Smith

Team Adam

“Somebody to Love” by Queen

Of course, powerhouse Jordan is the last performer of the night. He decides to pull out all the stops this week with a gospel rendition of “Somebody to Love.”

And of course, he kills it. It is insane how he is able to nail both powerful high notes and deep low notes. He seemed extra energized this week; I am guessing it is because he knows he’s got it in the bag at this point. Hands down, best performance of the season thus far.

Catch the Live Eliminations tomorrow December 8 on The Voice on NBC at 8pm – where the Top 9 will be cut down to the Top 4 Finalists.

My Predictions (or at least who I am rooting for) for Top 4 (in no particular order):

  1. Jordan Smith
  2. Madi Davis
  3. Amy Vachal
  4. Emily Ann Roberts

With Jeffrey Austin and Zach Seabaugh as backup.

crayola color alive animation studio review images

Is the Crayola Color Alive Easy Animation Studio Worth Buying?

There is no doubting the quality of the Crayola Color Alive Easy Animation App. It is an absolutely fantastic development and one that will keep many children engrossed for countless hours. The only issue here is that you don’t really need to buy the Easy Animation Studio in order to play with the software. The Easy Animator App is actually available for free download, so considering it when purchasing this set is somewhat redundant.

While many parents have reported feeling deceived by this fact, as they only realized after purchasing the set, the reality is that this is not an expensive set. It is priced extremely affordably. Taking aside the free app, you get a coloring book full of characters and backgrounds for use in your animations. Additionally, there is a set of twistable crayons, and the posable mannequin for use with the app. The only thing truly unique here is the mannequin, and that is not entirely necessary to play with the animation app.

Keeping all that in mind, is the Crayola Easy Animation Studio worth buying? Short answer – yes it is. While it might be true that you can download the app for free, this is not an expensive set. The real joy of this app is using the mannequin to see your very own creations come to life on an animated screen. It is possible to play with the app without this set, but if your child has an interest in animation, why not embrace it? For a small cost, you can offer your child hours of endless fun. That is worth it, in spite of Crayola being underhanded about the inclusion of a free app. Forget about the deceit, and enjoy this set for what it is. Check here for the best prices on the Anki Overdrive Starter Kit as they’ll keep going down through the holiday season.
