2015 Emmy’s Fashion Winners & Losers

0

2015 emmys fashion winners losers collage imagesLast night’s Emmy’s was one big ole hot party. People came out from everywhere and you know the fashion was there as well. That’s one of the things I really love about award shows. Your favorite actors and actresses come together and just give all kinds of face and glam.

As with all fancy ceremonies, there were some winners and some losers. Here is a list of both.

Winners

kerry washington emmy fashion winners losers 2015Kerry Washington

Oliva Pope rocked the hell out of his Marc Jacobs silver blinged out mixed metals dress. It reminds me of one of Whitney Houston’s outfits from The “Bodyguard.” I absolutely love everything about this look. Kerry rarely gets it wrong.

jane lynch emmy fashion winners losers 2015Jane Lynch

She killed this look. I mean, the fit of the pants, the detail on the suit jacket her accessories. I am in love with this monochromatic suit. Like literally, she damn there wins the red carpet in my opinion.

andy samberg emmy fashion winners losers 2015Andy Samberg

I really like his look in custom Armani. I am a sucker for textures and print and I love that he is mixing both very well. Men don’t have the opportunities to play with their award show look like women and I love that he brought something different.

taraji p henson emmy fashion winners losers 2015Taraji P. Henson

Her custom Alexander Wang is a winner for no other reason that it was the most weather appropriate. It was hot as hell in Hollywood and this look is easy and breezy. I was on the fence about it because it does seem kind of plain but considering the hair and the simplicity of it all, it is a great look.

laura prepon emmy fashion winners losers 2015Laura Prepon

Her Christian Siriano choice is elegant and classic. The lace bolero and vivid red mermaid gown is a winning look. Her hair is perfect as well allowing attention to really be given to the detail of the bolero.

niecy nash emmy fashion winners losers 2015

Niecy Nash

I really like this look on Niecy. You don’t really see sleeves a lot at award shows and this Mark Zunino is beautifully detailed making the sleeves perfect. I mean the whole look of the gown, the way it looks on her, her hair… it is everything. She cleans up really well.

sarah hyland emmy fashion winners losers 2015

Sarah Hyland

As fashionable as her “Modern Family “character is, it’s only natural for her to be just as trendy in real life. Sarah’s Zac Posen off the shoulder dress is simply amazing. The way it fits her is great and while other dresses this simple can be boring, this one is not. And that has everything to do with its design.

ariel winter emmy fashion winners losers 2015Ariel Winter

Shades of red and mermaid designs were all over the red carpet and this look from “Modern Family” star is right on trend. She looks elegant, amazing and her jet-black hair is the perfect do. She went light on the accessories, which was the right thing to do. This dress didn’t need any help shinning on her.

jamie alexander emmy fashion winners losers 2015Jamie Alexander

The “Blindspot” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” star took a risk here in this intricately designed Armani Privé multicolor Swarovski crystal gown and it pays all the way off. The dress catches you off guard at first, almost making you say it doesn’t work but it does. It really, really does. I wish she had done something different with her hair but overall, a winning look for sure.

christina hendricks emmy fashion winners losers 2015Christina Hendricks

I absolutely love this Naeem Khon gown. Being that she is a voluptuous woman, people expect Christina to always show off her curves and dress a certain way. But this dress is sexy, it is sleek, it is beautiful and she nailed it.

Losers

heidi klum emmy fashion winners losers 2015Heidi Klum

I don’t care what anyone says, this is probably one of the worst Emmy looks ever. Yes models play with materials and take risks but no matter how you slice it, this canary yellow Versace is ugly. It actually makes me mad to see it, making this look the biggest loser of the night.

Amy Schumer emmy fashion winners losers 2015Amy Schumer

The funny lady definitely won big at the Emmy’s. If only she had on a dress that fit her accomplishments. Her Zac Posen blue/green dress was a dud. I wish that she had gone for something with a little more pop. Her make up was pretty though albeit her hair was a mess. It felt like she stepped out of one of her messy girlskits that are absolutely funny and jumped into a dress in time to pick up her award.

kristen schaal emmy winners losers 2015Kristen Schaal

The “Last Man on Earth” starlet’s dress just doesn’t cut it. The shape is not right for her body and it looks like it engulfs her. Also, her hair is flat and it looks like she didn’t put much effort into her makeup.

Dascha Polanco emmy fashion winners losers 2015Dascha Polanco

I was really disappointed in this Leanne Marshall dress the “Organe is the New Black” actress chose. She has a banging body and this number just doen’t show it. It actually doesn’t fit her that great and the front split and under skirt makes it look like a dress you’d wear for a day at the beach or poolside.

alan cumming emmy fashion winners losers 2015Alan Cumming

I am pretty sure “The Good Wife” star was trying to go for this look on purpose, I just don’t know why. I mean, he has on Crocs! I give him an A for being his own but that’s about it.

Anna Chulmsky emmy fashion winners losers 2015Anna Chulmsky

I am not feeling this dress. It looks like it is not finished or the maker ran out of time and just decided to add material at the bottom and call lit a night. Her hair is cut though and she looks happy.

uzo aduba emmy fashion winners losers 2015Uzo Aduba

I did not want to do this. After her win, it just doesn’t feel right. BUT, her dress missed the mark. I like the color on her but the design just isn’t working for me. H hair is amazing and so are her arms, I just wish she picked a different design for this custom Jonathan Cohen dress.

Atlanta Falcons Week 2 Indepth NFL Review

0

atlanta falcons indepth nfl week 2 2015 imagesComprehensive Weekly Atlanta Falcons Recap

Atlanta Falcons 24   New York Giants 20

Game Summary:

The reports of a Atlanta Falcons demise were clearly exaggerated. Down 20-10 at the end of the third it looked very bleak for Atlanta who was in control early in this game in New York.

The Birds got on the board first with a TD catch from Hankerson which was reversed. No matter as Tevin Coleman ran it in from a yard out to make it 7-0. Check that. It matters if you had Hankerson in your fantasy lineup…I did not.

The Giants were willing to gamble in the second quarter with a fourth down attempt, which was successful. A penalty did nullify that conversion however.

Matt Ryan had a bad throw that should have been picked off in the second quarter as he tried to force it to Julio Jones.

With the ATL up 10-3, Eli Manning hit Odell Beckham for a 67 yard TD to make it 10 all. Beckham ended the game with 146 yards on seven catches and one TD. Still not a fan.

The Falcons defense turned the game around in the third quarter when they stripped Eli Manning as he had his Giants threatening to score inside the Red Zone. I’m no fan of Kroy Biermann, but he made the key play to give the Falcons life in this game. His strip prevented NY from adding the last nail to the Falcons’ coffin.

Down 20-10, Atlanta went right to work with a 41 yard completion to Jacob Tamme after the turnover. That drive ended with a 10 yard TD catch by Leonard Hankerson to get Atlanta within three.

Atlanta wasn’t done as the comeback on the road continued. Julio Jones was in destruction mode all game long. He lit up the Giants defense on this late drive as he hauled in a 37 yard TD catch that was eventually overturned. To the Falcons’ credit they were able to punch it in once again as Devonta Freeman stuck the ball over the goal line to give his team the lead 24-20.

Eli had a chance to bring back NY with a minute plus on the clock. Atlanta nearly got a sack on Manning as he barely got the ball out before being taken down. He had a long pass dropped, but also could have been picked by the Falcons on a tipped pass. Finally on fourth down and ten, Eli got the ball out under some pressure, but it fell incomplete.

Atlanta ran the clock out and headed south with the win, now 2-0 on the season.

Game Highlights:

Julio Going Julio

Makes me hate Beckham even more

Falcon’s Hankerson getting nice

3 Things:

  • Comebacks are good, but for a while it looked like the Falcons were gonna just fold. On the road, outdoors, it could have set a bad tone for week three. To Atlanta’s credit they rose to the occasion.
  • Julio Jones has looked like the best receiver in football with two weeks under his belt. I don’t want to see Ryan make mistakes by trying to force it to Julio too often. At the same time, I am OK with making Jones the focal point of the offense every week.
  • Atlanta’s defense isn’t Seattle just yet, but there is a better balance than in the past couple years. I still cringe when the defense takes the field, but they have done their part in the Birds’ first two wins this year.

Lowlight of Game: Matt Ryan trying to force it to Julio and nearly being intercepted. Ryan has to eliminate those throws without taking away from the Falcons’ determination to get #11 the ball as often as possible

Turning point: No question the game would have been over if Eli got his crew in the end zone late in the third. Kroy Biermann swiped the ball from the Giants QB, giving the Falcons a pulse, down ten at that point.

Julio Watch: 13 catches for 135 yards. Nice game for Julio, nice game in my fantasy escapades. Jones had a TD catch that got overturned as well. Kid had a great game and is seemingly unstoppable two games in.

He was targeted 15 times and look for that pace to be a weekly stat. Why not try to feed your best player as often as possible.

Tweets of the Game:

I hate to see bad things happen to teams on back to back weeks, but since I really have a deep hatred for the Giants, I kinda enjoyed back to back meltdowns.

https://twitter.com/nhlwildfans/status/645705557752463360

Turning point of the game, with Eli holding the hammer in hand, Biermann ensured his team had a shot.

Not good. Freeman did play well when he was needed. May be focal point of the running game next week.

Keeping Your Server Virus & DDOS Free

0

keeping your server virus free 2015How to keep your server virus free and protected from DDOS attacks

Keeping your server safe and secure is extremely important in order to preserve the integrity of the data or applications that are running on the system. In addition having a fully secured environment will ensure that the server is always fully functioning and online.

Aside from hardware failure the most common type of issue that a server can face is a security breach of some description. This security breech could come in the form of a virus, denial of service attack or simply an intrusion by a malicious third party.

Any of these scenarios could be potentially disastrous and could lead to loss or corruption of data as well as system downtime whilst the damages are repaired and the server secured.

Having a solid security plan in place can help to minimise the risk of these scenarios from occurring.

Keeping your server virus free

Keeping your server virus free is relatively easy as long as you are following bets practices when it comes to security. Having an antivirus program installed on your server is the most obvious step and will go a long way towards protecting your system. Any business class antivirus program will protect your server but having a security application that is designed specifically for your system is the best option. For example if you are running a file server there are specific antivirus modules that will be best suited to the environment. If you are running a Microsoft Exchange server then there will be different antivirus modules that suit that environment.

In addition to having an antivirus program installed it is also important to have strict security measures in place for both administrators and users. Administrators should avoid granting themselves full system access unless explicitly needed. The alternative is to have several administrative accounts with different permission levels depending on the required access levels. Users should have restricted access as much as possible. In addition password policies and account lockout policies should be set in such a way that the system is as secure as possible. Having these measures in place minimises the likelihood of a virus or Trojan getting in to the system.

Keeping your system safe from hackers

There are many malicious people and organisations out there that will try to hack in to any servers that they come across. Just because you are a small company it doesn’t mean you are safe either; some hackers use tools that “sniff” around on the internet looking for weak systems and then attempt to hack in to them autonomously. Keeping your server fully up to date helps to prevent hackers from gaining access or even from seeing your server as a potential target in the first place. Updates are often released to patch the exact security weak spots that the hackers are looking for.

Preventing DDOS attacks

DDOS attacks or distributed denial of service attacks involve sending huge amounts of network traffic and other service requests to your system making it unable to respond to legitimate requests. Sometimes these attacks are purely malicious and designed to ruin your system. In some cases these attacks are simply a means of weakening your system and distracting your network team so that other attacks can take place such as attempts to steal data.

There are plenty of hardware firewalls on the market today that will prevent or at least detect and mitigate DDOS attacks. There are some expensive options but there are also some cost effective options. If you rent your servers and installing a hardware firewall is not an option then there are other online service providers that will help to mitigate or prevent DDOS attacks. Cloudflare is one such provider that offers a DDOS prevention service at a very affordable price, but I keep seeing many sites who use them like Klout that have issues and you see the Cloudflare 404 page come up. If I have a website where I’m paying for a service, the last thing I want is to have that service get free advertising off my back when they have issues. I only mentioned Cloudflare since it’s popular, but I’ve only had issues when using it. My recommendation to keep yourself fully protected is Incapsula which is a much more superior service that provides so much more, plus you won’t get their name popping up all over your site.

Candace Cameron Bure Talks Nurses & Joy Behar

rhobh kim richards birthday 2015 gossipLast night, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards celebrated her 51st birthday with her kids, friends and sister/fellow co-star Kylie Richards. This surprising reunion between Kim and Kyle came after several months of feuding between the two.

Back in January, Kyle told E! News that her relationship with Kim was “not great right now, but sisters do go through difficult times.” Later in July, sources revealed that the sisters were still not speaking to one another.

However it looks like things have changed in the last few months, as both Kim and Kyle posted pictures together on their Instagram pages on Saturday. The photos show the two at seafood restaurant Ocean Prime in Beverly Hills, as they celebrated Kim’s birthday.

Kim Richards, Instagram post:

Spent some fun?quality❤️time with my sister @kylerichards18 …. Life is Good?

Kyle Richards, Instagram post:

Right here, right now @kimrichards11 it's your birthday sister!!! ???❤️

A post shared by Kyle Richards Umansky (@kylerichards18) on

Although things seem to be getting better in her personal life, Kim is still facing community service after she was charged with public intoxication, resisting, delaying a peace officer or EMT and battery upon peace officer.

She was also arrested for shoplifting at a Target in April, but she has not yet commented on this incident.

When leaving Ocean Prime, TMZ asked Kim if she was nervous about starting community service, in which sister Kyle replied, “She’s got this.”

candace cameron bure talks nurses 2015 gossipAt Entertainment Weekly’s Pre-Emmy party, The View co-host Candace Cameron Bure spoke out about the nurse controversy that the show faced this past week.

The controversy began when hosts Joy Behar and Michelle Collins poked fun at Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson for being a nurse. This lead to a slew of criticism from the public (and a lot of nurses) and the hashtag #NursesUnite even began trending, as people defended the important profession.

Candace was not present when the comments were made (as she is busy filming Fuller Hourse) so she revealed, “I did dodge a bullet although I wish I were there because I would have had some other words to say, which were how much I appreciated nurses.” Going on to say, “We couldn’t do what they do. Doctors couldn’t do what they do without the nurses. I’m so appreciative and grateful of nurses.”

Since the scandal, ABC and The View hosts have been on major damage control. The show even invited nurses on as their special guests so they could make amends with those working in the profession. When asked about the nurses being invited on the show, Candace replied, “I’m glad they brought all of the nurses back on and they gave an apology to them and they celebrated them and that’s exactly what they should have done. I wish I were there and I could of genuinely apologized to them and told them how much I appreciate because I truly mean it.”

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD 104 Not Fade Away Recap

fear the walking dead 104 not fade away recap madison images 2015Things kind of looked like some form of normalcy had come back in this week’s “Fear the Walking Dead” as we saw Chris lounging in the pool and Travis going for a jog. Not exactly. That is unless you consider martial law and your subdivision being enclosed in a fence normal.

A little bit of mystery this week as Chris is video documenting what’s going on as the army makes its passes through the neighborhood. He sees a flashing light out in the distance past the fence where the army says there should be nobody.

Not sure how the army would say there’s no life out there. So nobody survived in the whole state except for the 12 safe zones mentioned later in the show? That’s kind of hard to believe. Actually it can’t be true, because somebody is signaling from the other house!

During a zombie apocalypse is not good time to bicker with your significant other. We see Travis and Maddie having a little bit of a spat and Alicia finally tells them to stop acting like everything is normal with stupid little arguments. This girl gets it. She understands just how bad things are.

Travis is trying to act like everything’s fine and going to be ok now the army is in town. That’s not anywhere near the truth.

We get a closer look at the army leader as he’s giving his morning update to the community. He asks them for cooperation and gives them some limited information. He’s not big on Q&A sessions. At the end of his little speech he says “Be nice so I don’t have to shoot you.” Good advice. These people should take it.

Imagine you’re in a disaster like this and army does move in to help. That help can be a double-edged sword. Before, you could go out past dark, use the power whenever you wanted to, etc. But now you have a group of people with machine guns telling you when you can leave your house and where you can go. It’s a different scene. Think Katrina.

Travis’s neighbor Doug is has having a meltdown and he doesn’t want to go through with the house screening. Doug better get with the program because in this world, might makes right.

I can see trying to make things seem normal when the world’s a wreck, but I’m pretty sure I would not be painting my living room like Maddie suggests. People hate painting anyway. I’m sure they wouldn’t want to do it when folks are dying all around them and the army has occupied their neighborhood.

Travis tries to talk to his neighbor Doug. But that doesn’t go very well. The big man is in freakout mode and he does not want to seem weak in front of his family. This man knows everything is not going to be ok and he doesn’t know how to go about telling his family that.

Travis’s ex wife Liza is checking on the sick even though she’s not exactly a nurse. She’s the closest thing this little community has and the people think she is a nurse so that’s close enough now that SHTF.

It was good to see Nick hitting a new low this week. It’s one thing to steal some pills to feed your habit. Quite another to yank the IV drip out of a sick man’s arm and stick it in between your toes to get your fix. Cannot wait until this dude is turned into a zombie. Check that, he’s already a zombie. He’s just not infected yet.

When shit hits the fan you will use any tool at your disposal. That’s exactly what Ofelia Salazar is doing with this army guy she’s flirting with. Maybe she really likes him, maybe not. All I know is she needs medicine for her mama and this guy is the closest link to getting that medicine. I’m afraid she’s going to have to step up her game though because the guy is not coming through yet.

I’ve got a bad feeling about what “headquarters” means. That’s where Doug has ended up according to the army Sgt. Doug had the bright idea to drive his car after hours inside the fence, two no-nos. Travis found his car and checked with the Sgt. and he told him that Doug was at headquarters. For all I know Doug is dead, or worse.

Oh and Travis mentioned the light signal to the Sgt. and this guy couldn’t have cared less. He says there’s no life out there. I’m starting to get the feeling this military group is just a rouge crew.

The good news is there’s a doctor on the scene now. Dr. Exner knows Liza is not a real nurse, but tells her she’s been doing good work. These two are going around checking on the sick and at the same time Maddie has slipped outside the fence to see what’s going on in what used to be the world. She probably wishes she’d stayed inside and stuck with the painting. What she sees is pretty disturbing stuff. It was bad enough to see the wall plastered with missing people fliers similar to 911. Then she got a whiff of the dead and that was a bad scene.  She’s pretty lucky not to have been shot, raped, or turned into a zombie during her outing. The fenced in neighborhood may suck, but at least it’s somewhat safe at the moment.

Well there’s bad news for Mrs. Salazar…going to have to amputate that foot. Dr. Exner tells her there’s a facility just 15 minutes away and her husband will be able to go with her. Both lies. If there were a facility so close I’m pretty sure the sick would have already been taken from the neighborhood to the facility. The army does not have the situation under control. The Sgt. may have a nice golf swing but he has no clue how to fix this zombie problem.

We find out that Daniel Salazar saw terrible things as a child. He knows what the government can do when they’re pressed into action. He asks Maddie to tell him what she saw on the outside. He gives her similar advice that Tobias had given her earlier this season, “If it happens, it happens quickly.”

While this is going on Alicia thinks it’s a good idea to give herself a tattoo. I get that she misses her boyfriend but there’s probably a better use of her time.

The highlight of the show this week without a doubt was when Maddie slapped the piss out of Nick. The kid’s looking for dope while everything around him is falling apart. Not only is he of no help, he is a burden. It’s about time he got some tough love.

Later on we see Maddie melting down herself, hitting the bottle out in the car, which has been a sanctuary for her and Travis evidently.

Things get really sideways when the doctor comes for Mrs. Salazar. She has two names on her list to go and the second one is not Daniel Salazar. This causes a major freak out in the house and lots of people having machine guns pointed at them. There are two names on the list to go to the medical facility, but the second one is Nick’s. The army is here to remove the sick and the weak. That may actually be the best way to control a situation like this, but it sure would not be an easy pill to swallow if your family is being hauled off one by one.

We should get a look at this so called medical facility next week through Liza’s eyes. She hopped on one of the trucks to head out to the facility. The doctor told her they could use her help and seems sincere so Liza finally decides to go with them.

So Maddie somehow blames Liza for Nick being hauled off by the army. I know Nick is her kid but they’re going to be a lot better off without him trust me. I’m not sure she and Travis are going to be heading to the backseat of that car anytime soon though. She’s pretty pissed.

This episode wrapped up as Alicia read aloud the letter she had found from her neighbor Susan. It was written for Susan’s husband as she saw everything going to hell. She said she saw something “Godly and overdue” as if she thought this was a punishment from God.

Travis heads to the rooftop to get some alone time and he sees the same signal that Chris had seen. Whether he believed what he told Chris or not, it’s pretty obvious now that it is a signal and not some flashing metal just dangling in the wind.

There’s only two episodes left in season one so I would imagine next week we’re going to see a lot more from what’s outside the fence. Seeing more home improvement projects is not going to be too exciting so I would think we will find out who sent the signal from the house outside the fence.

Six episodes is a short run for this season but season two is scheduled to be 15 episodes. I guess it’s a lot smarter to start out slow to make sure there’s a big demand instead of producing 15 episodes in season one if no one cared.

NFL Week 2 Shockers: Jaguars, Raders & Redskins Win Sunday

0

nfl week 2 shocker jaguars raiders 2015Yeah, you read that right. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers all won Sunday.

Go ahead, refresh the page. Fact-check us on NFL.com. No one will blame you.

The Jaguars were led over the Miami Dolphins 23-20 by wide receiver Allen Robinson’s six receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns in the surprising upset. Well, surprising to almost everyone:

“From our point of view, we expected this outcome,” said Jags quarterback Blake Bortles.

The other 7 billion on the planet are still trying to figure it out though.

The Raiders managed to further the shock with their 37-33 victory over the Baltimore Ravens (who are now 0-2) fueled by a clutch TD from Derek Carr. The second-year QB went 7 of 9 for 65 yards on the final drive, capped off by a 12 yard touchdown pass to Seth Roberts. Looks like Carr may finally be coming to his own as a pro.

On second thought, let’s not get carried away just yet.

“It was special,” said Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio. “I had to focus on taking my mind elsewhere so I didn’t get all choked up. Very special for me.”

A win isn’t something you come by often in Oakland. Cherish it, Jack.

And finally—and arguably the most surprising of the weekend—the Redskins absolutely picked apart the St. Louis Rams on both sides of the ball for a 24-10 victory.

The keys to their great success? Keeping the ball out of Kirk Cousins’ hands as much as possible, which in turn limited the turnovers. Cousins got his fair share with 203 yards and a touchdown to Pierre Garcon, but Matt Jones and Alfred Morris really ran the show (pun intended), outrushing the Rams 182-67.

Jones and Morris can also thank their offensive line for the performance. Even Cousins only got sacked twice one week after this defensive line brought Russell Wilson to the ground on what seemed like ever play.

All I know is, if anyone out there correctly called these three games, said person should probably start selling betting picks. Hell, I’d buy them.

KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS Mother Armenia Recap

keeping up with the kardashians mother armenia recap images 2015The fall return of Keeping up with the Kardashians is here. This week, season 10 episode 14 “Mother Armenia” was all about Kim and Khloe’s trip to Armenia to find more about their family’s heritage.

The episode begins with Kim and Khloe packing up as they venture to Armenia. Both of them are excited as they reveal their late father Robert Kardashian Sr. always wanted to take his family there one day. Therefore, they both decide it is finally time to visit where their family was from.

When they arrived in Armenia, the crowds of screaming fans shocked them. Although they were prepared for some notoriety, the sisters were amazed by the enthusiastic reception they received. Khloe noted that Kim especially was treated like, “an Armenian princess.” Going on to say that if Kim ever “lost some fame back home all she would have to do is move to Armenia and she would be set for life.”

While Kim and Khloe have some one-on-one time together, Kim decides to let the cat out of the bag and reveals that she is officially pregnant with her second child.

Meanwhile back in California, Kourtney expresses concern over her little sister Kylie. Kourtney says that Kylie hasn’t been communicating much with the rest of the family and she believes it may be partially due to Caitlyn’s transition.

However, Kylie insists that everything is okay and she is simply caught up in her own life.

Nonetheless, Kourtney ends up sending Scott (who at the time was her boyfriend) to track down Kylie and see what’s really going on. He ends up walking in on Kylie having lunch with her friend. However, Kylie is obviously upset with Scott’s impromptu visit and quickly gets him to leave without discussing any of his concerns (aka Kourtney’s concerns).

After the run-in with Scott, Kylie decides she will open up to Kourtney, as she just wants to get her family off her back. Kylie heads over to her sister’s house and reveals why she has been so secretive lately. Kylie tells Kourtney that she has been spending a lot of time with Caitlyn and she feels that being secretive about it is her way of protecting her mom (who is clearly still struggling with the whole situation). Kourtney realizes that she totally judged the situation wrong and it is not Kylie who is having a hard time with the Caitlyn situation, it is her mother Kris.

Meanwhile, Kim and Khloe go to visit the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, to honor the 100-year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, where over 1.5 million people were killed.

Kim Kardashian, Instagram post:

Surprisingly, Kanye even had his own scene in the season premiere. The usually private rapper was shown touring an Armenian school, where he interacted to students in both the robotics and music program. He took the opportunity to share one of his Kanye conspiracies and warns them that 3D printers will ruin textiles like “the Internet ruined music.”

The end of the episode featured mom Kris Jenner being a lot more vulnerable about how she is truly feeling relative to when she appeared on I Am Cait. While face-timing Kim, Kris breaks down crying, as she is visibly still emotional and fragile from Caitlyn’s decision to transition after their long marriage. Fortunately, Kim is able to turn Kris’ mood around as she reveals that she is officially pregnant once again.

Kris exclaims, “That’s the best thing I’ve heard in so long.”

Check out next week’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E! Network, Sundays at 8pm.

Sneak peek:

Kim and Kanye’s daughter North West gets baptized in Jerusalem. The sisters get upset over Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair article. There is trouble in paradise for Scott and Kourtney, as he is photographed getting close to his ex-girlfriend.

EMPIRE’s Cookie Lyon Fashion Do’s & Don’ts

0

The season two premiere of Empire is only days away and the excitement is growing. I look forward to the plot twists and the juicy drama but just as much, or perhaps maybe even more, I look forward to seeing what Cookie is going to be wearing.

I am fashion chick and there have been countless outfits she’s worn that have taken my breath away. Taraji P. Henson is styled perfectly for her character and has inspired a whole generation of divas.

With that, I gave you my most favorite Cookie Lyon looks. Now, I want to give you some do’s and don’t based off of her wardrobe and taste, because she’s just that fly.

Play with them. You can even mix leopard print with leopard print. Fashion should be fun just as much showy, flashy, trendy and appealing. If you usually stay away from prints or if you don’t believe in print mixing, take a step back for a minute and consider all the ways Cookie did it well.

Prints- Don’t…

Get carried away. I am not talking about wearing leopard, polka dots, plaid and gingham at the same time (although from what we saw at last week’s NYFW, that may be the norm for spring 2016). Remember, you are a diva and you want to be smooth and fly with your print mixing, not tacky and homely.

White- Do…

Wear it. People don’t like to because it gets dirty, among other things, but don’t let that stop you from rocking some really hot white ensembles. I love, love, love Cookie’s Gucci white jumpsuit she wore to the all white party but her white fur trench coat was everything as well. Find something you like and sport it.

White- Don’t…

Give in to cliché’s. “Don’t wear white after Labor Day” is so twenty years ago. I mean, what is WINTER white then? Last time I checked, winter happens way after Labor Day. As far as I am concerned, you can wear white whenever you want. Now there may be better items to choose according to the season, but don’t sweat the details. Just do it.

Statement Pieces- Do

Try things out to see what works for you. Sometimes, things just don’t go and that’s okay. Don’t try to force something because there is nothing worse than wearing something that you are not comfortable in and that just doesn’t go with who you are.

Statement Pieces- Don’ts

Not try them. You never know how things will be unless you try them. Cookie had some amazing statement pieces especially necklaces and earrings. Some may feel that statement pieces are only for the extremely fashionable but you can take a simple black dress and make it bomb with a statement necklace that sky rockets it to the next level.

Dresses- Do…

Wear them long and sexy. Minis and body cons are not the only fly dresses you can wear. Cookie had some amazingly killer long numbers including a Holy Balmain rhinestone tiger-stripe blinged out dress with high split. Get out of the notion that short is the only sexy dress you can rock because when you got it, you got it and is shows no matter the length.

Dresses- Don’t

Wear oddly shaped dresses. Another key to fashion is making sure that what you have on flatters your body. You want to make sure that your best assets are highlighted in the most flattering way. Just because something is cut or looks good on a model doesn’t mean it will translate over in the same way when you wear it. That’s okay. Just move on and find one that does work for you.

Boots – Do

Have a variety of them on hand and in different textures and colors. Cookie has some bad boots like her Over-the-knee Guess Boots snakeskin heels that are probably my favorite from the first season.

Boots –Don’t

Buy them if you can’t walk in them. Understand this, boots are meant for walking so if you can’t, don’t tarnish your diva reputation trying to look cute because you will end up really just looking stupid. It is fine if you can’t wear sky-high boots (I surely can’t). You can find some that are just as nice, just as sexy and just right for you.

Remember, it is not just about what you wear it’s how you wear it. You can follow what’s hot like Cookie Lyon does, but make sure that is works for you. If not, just let it go.

Kylie Jenner Sorries Jessica Alba & Nicole Arbour’s Nurses

jessica alba sorried by kylie jenner bodyguards 2015 gossipjessica alba sorried by kylie jenner bodyguards 2015 gossipEarlier this week actress Jessica Alba, 34, appeared on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, where she explained how she got body-checked by Kylie Jenner’s security team.

Jessica told host Andy Cohen that she was at the Opening Ceremony runway show at New York Fashion Week, when she was shoved by two of the 18-year-old reality star’s bodyguards.

Jessica explained, “[The shove] was by two of [Kylie’s bodyguards].” I was like, “Whoa! Whoa! What’s happening?’ I thought there was like a fire. ‘What’s going on?’ But I guess someone was leaving the building. So yeah, I don’t know. It was really shocking.”

Although Jessica was taken back by the situation, she did reveal that she didn’t blame Jenner for it, as she mostly likely “[didn’t] know when it was happening.”

However, Kylie seemingly caught wind of the story as she sent a gift as an apology to Jessica. On Friday, Jessica shared on Instagram a picture of a vase filled with white roses, orchids and hydrangeas. Along with the picture, Jessica wrote a caption thanking Kylie saying, “Wow! Came home to the most beautiful flower tree I’ve ever [seen]! Thank you [Kylie Jenner] you are a sweetheart!! So thoughtful.”

nicole arbour michelle collins nurses 2015 gossipThe View continues to make headlines this week.

Youtuber Nicole Arbour, who became known after she posted the controversial video “Deat Fat People,” was a guest on the talk show this week. After her appearance Nicole did an interview on SiriusXM Radio’s Opie and Jim Norton Show, where she claimed that the hosts (particularly Michelle Collins) continued to bad mouth nurses backstage. Nicole alleged, “When the cameras weren’t rolling, Michelle [Collins] was like, ‘Yeah, that’s not a real profession. They’re wannabe doctors.”

However, since Nicole made these claims the shows network (ABC) has come rushing to Michelle’s defense. An ABC representative stated that Nicole’s story was completely falsified, saying:

“Nicole and Michelle were never backstage at the same time. Michelle was on the stage from the moment the show started until after the show ended. Nicole was brought down to the backstage area after the show started.”

If this is true, it means that Nicole was lying and trying to further drag out the nurse controversy that Michelle Collins and fellow host Joy Behar faced this week (after they poked fun at Miss America’s job as a nurse). Some believe this may be the case, as Nicole may be trying to take some of the heat off of her following her “Dear Fat People” video, which caused huge public backlash. On the other hand, the ABC representative could very well be continuing the damage control that has been going on at The View the last few days.

Analysing Spanish Soccer Teams in the Champions League

Unai Emery has done a tremendous job with the Andalusian outfit and has guided them to successive Europa League triumphs over the last two years. They overcame Benfica in the 2014 final and then successfully defended their trophy after defeating Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the final earlier this year.

Their triumph this year came with a ticket to the group stage of the Champions League and they will be eager to show the rest of the world that they indeed belong to the biggest stage.

They certainly have the squad to have a deep run in the tournament and a quarter-final spot is not beyond them.

Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone’s side spent a lot of money in bringing new players to the Vicente Calderon this summer and most of them look tailor-made for the Argentine schemer.

They saw the return of David Luiz, as well as quality additions of Matias Kranevitter, Jackson Martinez, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco and Luciano Vietto amongst a host of others.

With the wealth of resources at his disposal, Simeone should be expected to guide his side to a strong Champions League campaign and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they repeat the heroics of the 2013/14 season when they made the final.

Barcelona

The reigning Spanish and European champions have added Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal to their ranks in the summer transfer window, but they won’t be able to field the duo, owing to the FIFA-imposed registration ban that they are under which remains in effect until January next year.

It may just turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Catalan giants as they will have two top quality players to call upon who would be in prime health.

Barcelona will surely fancy their chances of retaining the title they won in Berlin this year.

Valencia

The Spanish giants enjoyed a great campaign under manager Nuno Espirito Santo as they went on to finish fourth in the league standings to qualify for the Champions League.

They have brought in the likes of Santi Mina, Zakaria Bakkali and Danilo to the Mestalla in the summer to further strengthen their squad ahead of what promises to be a long season for Los Che.

Valencia showed their credentials in the ease with which they dispatched Monaco in the Champions League playoff and a knock-out stage run cannot be ruled out for the Spanish club.

Real Madrid

The ten-time European champions have added Danilo, Kiko Casilla, Diego Vazquez and Mateo Kovacic amongst others to their first team in the summer transfer window to add more depth to an already strong squad.

Los Blancos also have a new manager at the helm in Rafael Benitez, who has proven Champions League credentials having guided Liverpool to the toppy in 2005 as well as the final of the competition in 2007.

The team look stronger than ever and it would be no surprise if they make the final at the San Siro next year.

Analysing Premier League Soccer Teams in the Champions League

0

analysing premier league champions soccer 2015It wasn’t the best of opening days for the English Premier League sides in the 2015/16 as three teams lost by identical 2-1 scoreline, whereas the fourth registered an emphatic 4-0 win, albeit against a relative European Cup newbies.

Manchester United

The Old Trafford residents returned to the group stage of the Champions League after a year’s absence and played their first game against reigning Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven. Memphis Depay, who moved to the Red Devils this summer, returned to his old home and marked it with a goal, but two headers from Hector Moreno and Luciano Narsingh ensured all three points for the hosts. More than the result, Louis van Gaal’s side were inflicted by the loss of defender Luke Shaw, who suffered a double fracture in his leg after a tackle from Moreno early in the first half. The left-back is expected to be out for a minimum of six months.

Manchester City

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have enjoyed a sizzling start to their Premier League campaign as they have won all five of their games and have looked extremely comfortable against all of their opposition. More importantly, they have put 11 goals past their opponents, but are yet to concede any. On the other hand, their first round opponents Juventus have endured a difficult start to their Serie A campaign and have scored a solitary point from their first three games, having lost two matches out of three. Yet, the Old Lady looked like a side that have enjoyed a better start to the season as they went about their Champions League business in a methodical fashion and strangled the Citizens to a 2-1 loss at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal

Arsene Wenger’s men travelled to the Maksimir Stadium in Croatia to take on Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opener and were pegged back by an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain own goal in the 24th minute of the match. Junior Fernandes doubled the hosts’ lead near the hour mark that left the Gunners facing a prospect of an opening round defeat. Theo Walcott pulled one back in the 79th minute, but the equalising goal never came as the Gunners succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to start their European journey on the back foot. The north Londoners have Bayern Munich in their group and also a difficult away trip to Olympiacos of the Greek league, meaning they cannot afford any more slips if they are to reach the next round.

Chelsea

The west London outfit kept aside their Premier League failings and registered an emphatic 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in their Champions League opener at Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourinho’s men are languishing in 17th spot in the Premier League standings after three defeats from their first five league games, but their domestic form didn’t come in the way of their European campaign as a goal each from Willian, Oscar, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas gave them all three points.

Champions League First Round Soccer Review

0

champions league soccer first round manchester city vs juventus 2015On the opening night of the 2015/16 Champions League season, Manchester City were afflicted by familiar failings when they came up short against last season’s finalists Juventus and succumbed to a 2-1 loss at home. The Citizens completely failed to replicate their Premier League form and were handed a lesson in tactical football by the Old Lady.

In the same group, reigning Europa League champions gave a strong performance against Borussia Monchengladbach with a comfortable 3-0 win over the Germans to show that they indeed belong to the highest echelons of European football.

Angel di Maria, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Manchester United in the summer, showed what he is capable of as he opened his Champions League goalscoring account for the Parisians in a stupendous display that helped his team to a 2-0 win over reigning Swedish champions Malmo.

Cristiano Ronaldo continued from where he left off in the Spanish league and scored a hat-trick against Shakhtar Donetsk in a 4-0 win for Los Blancos.

At the Phillips Stadion, Memphis Depay marked his return to his old stomping ground with a goal, but in a match marred by a horrific injury to left-back Luke Shaw, PSV Eindhoven clinched all three points with a 2-1 win.

VfL Wolfsburg marked their return to the Champions League after five seasons as they registered a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow of the Russian league.

Benfica won 2-0 against Champions League debutantes Astana of Kazakhstan and Atletico Madrid inflicted a defeat by the same margin on Galatasaray courtesy of a brace from Frenchman Antoine Griezmann.

Bayer Leverkusen ran away 4-1 winner against BATE Borisov of Belarus in Group E. And in the other match of the group, Barcelona managed to get a 1-1 draw against an ultra defensive Roma that deployed six-man defence at times to throttle the Catalans’ attacking verve. Alessandro Florenzi scored the goal of the first round with a stupendous long range effort that flew over and beyond Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen.

Dinamo Zagreb defeated Arsenal 2-1 at the Stadion Maksimir to cause one of the upsets of the first round, while Bayern Munich were comfortable winners 3-0 against Olympiacos courtesy of a brace from Thomas Mulller and a 90th minute strike from Mario Gotze.

A goal each from Willian, Oscar, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas helped Chelsea inflict a 4-0 defeat on Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel Aviv in their Champions League opener played at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Dynamo Kyiv and Portuguese giants Porto played out a 2-2 draw in the second match of Group G.

Reigning Belgian champions Gent were held to a 1-1 draw against French Ligue 1 rivals Lyon at the Ghelamco Arena.

In the second match of Group H, Zenit Saint Petersburg travelled to Valencia and went ahead 2-0 by half time courtesy of two glorious goals from Hulk. The Spaniards drew level, but the Russians scored a third to secure a 3-2 win – their first Champions League win over a Spanish league opponent.
