RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE Ep 708 Recap: Trixie’s Back

On this week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race the drag queens talked about who they missed and who they didn’t, among those who have already been eliminated from the competition.

This week’s mini challenge was called Orange is the New Drag. Each drag queen was then given an orange prison jumpsuit for them to add their own personal touch to. After each drag queen modeled their jumpsuit, which they had to use to create a character that would be in prison, RuPaul declared Kennedy Davenport the winner of the mini challenge.

RuPaul then announced that “a” drag queen that had already been eliminated from the competition was coming back. That one drag queen turned into every single one that had already been eliminated this season, returning the original group in full. RuPaul said that the for this week’s maxi challenge each drag queen would be paired up with one of the returning queens. Each pair had to dress up as conjoined twins.

Kennedy Davenport was given the task of pairing up every drag queen couple, including her own. Each pair then got to work planning their conjoined twin costumes and RuPaul spoke to some of the pairs about their plans. Ginger Minj stated that if she was eliminated from the competition this week she wanted it to be because of something she did or didn’t do.

RuPaul noted that Mrs. Kasha Davis and Katya had problems working together because the week Mrs. Kasha Davis was voted out she was paired with Katya for that week’s challenge.

Kennedy Davenport said she felt Jasmine had a lot to add to the competition, which is why she chose to pair up with Jasmine. Ginger Minj said that though she was paired with Sasha, she was the one doing all the work.

On Elimination Day the conjoined twins had to walk the runway together. Kennedy encouraged Jasmine to succeed in the competition this time. She also said that everyone deserves a second chance and Jasmine had a lot to add to the competition. Tempest confessed that she had gone into therapy to try and become straight but she couldn’t do it. Trixie confessed he had issues with his stepdad because his stepdad didn’t support Trixie being a drag queen.

Leann Rimes was the guest judge for this week’s runway. Miss Fame and Kandy Ho came out attached at the waist. Jaiyden and Tempest were connected between Tempest’s groin and Jaiyden’s rear end.

Pearl and Trixie did a funny routine during their runway appearance where they were supposed to anger each other. Ginger and Sasha came out conjoined at their chest.

Each conjoined twin pair then appeared at once in front of the judges so they could give some feedback to each pair. Miss Fame and Katya were criticized because they were conjoined at the hip and the judges thought it wasn’t creative enough. Jaiyden and Tempest were told their concept for their costume was also very basic.

The drag queens were sent backstage so that the judges could discuss their choices. They said that Violet and Max were the best storytellers of the night. Katya and Mrs. Kasha Davis were praised for their costume meant to resemble the women who use the slot machines at Atlantic City casinos and go to Bingo halls for an evening of games. RuPaul then announced she had made her decision about who was going to be eliminated. Pearl was told she won the challenge for the week, so Trixie was back in the competition. Pearl won her own online store, her own website and a trip to NYC. Katya, Violet and Kennedy Davenport were told they were safe. RuPaul then announced that Jaiyden was being eliminated from the competition this week.

Are Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom Patching Things Up…Again?

khloe kardashian not ready to give up lamar odom yet 2015 gossip

The never ending Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom saga is still going on after they’ve been separated a little over 2 years  now and it appears that this time they’re actually trying to patch thing up…kind of.

Do the Kardashian’s ever do anything the easy way?

Khloe and Lamar separated in the spring of 2013 during the time that rumors started to swirl about his constant infidelity and reported drug use. It was clear from the beginning Khloe was not ready to let her marriage go as she didn’t file for divorce until December of 2013. On February 12, 2014 it was reported that Khloe started dating rapper French Montana. Although it seemed like a rebound relationship at first, they’ve been dating on and off for over a year now.

However, the fact that Khloe has still not moved on with the divorce proceedings are a clear indication she’s not ready to let her marriage end. So how in to French Montana can she possibly be?

khloe kardashian and lamar odom reconcile from divorce 2015 gossip

This story is getting even more complicated because as TMZ reported the two are talking again but not about reconciliation….they’re just talking. Apparently Lamar is still bitter about Khloe up and leaving him even though he may have been a growing drug addict and cheating on her. Sounds like a fair complaint. Of course Khloe is bitter about him being a poor husband, but neither one of them seem ready to sign those papers to officially close that chapter of their lives. In fact, it’s become so bad that the judge is threatening to dismiss her divorce filing because the case has been dormant for over a year. Apparently Khloe has told Lemar he needs to make a grand gesture in order to win her back, but so far he’s done nothing.

I think I speak for every independent woman when I say: GIRL MOVE THE HELL ON! A man can say he’s sorry all day and in every way, but actions without words are no good. Its clear that Khloe took this marriage very seriously. I think she hung in there much longer than the average woman would have when the rumors started swirling. We’ve all been in relationships that we’ve wanted to work so bad, that we put up with things we shouldn’t have.

Although Khloe is not still living with him and they don’t seem to be dating again, if she doesn’t go through with this divorce she’ll never be able to truly move on with her life. Marriage is serious business and despite what people say, that “ piece of paper” holds a lot of weight to it and it may just be weighing down her heart.

Khloe really needs to make up her mind about whether she wants to reconcile with her husband or cut the strings and move on…I’m personally rooting for the later.

Kei Nishikori Continues Momentum At 2015 Barcelona Open

0

kei nishikori continues momentum with 2015 barcelona open

ATP Barcelona 2015 featured two semifinal matches on Saturday involving Kei Nishikori, Martin Klizan, David Ferrer, and Pablo Andujar. Sunday’s championship final is now set after one, and only one, of the semifinals produced an upset result.

Ferrer and Andujar, both representatives of Spain, met in the second match of the day on Saturday. Ferrer, who entered the contest 3-0 against Andujuar, was a sizeable favorite against his lesser known countryman. However in a surprising result it was Andujar that claimed victory with the line score ending at 7-6, 6-3.

With the appearance in the Barcelona final the current World No. 66 is perhaps beginning to turn his 2015 season around. Andujar, a former champion in Gstaad and Casablanca, has been a threat on clay in recent seasons however he had not done that much in any event so far in 2015. He entered Barcelona with just a 3-9 record in all ATP and Grand Slam events combined. But with the win against Ferrer, it appears as though Andujar is returning to form and he’s a very legitimate threat to challenge for the fourth round at the 2015 French Open.

kei nishikori wins barcelona open title 2015

But Andujar will next face a player that could very well challenge for the final at Roland Garros later this season. Kei Nishikori, the defending champion from Barcelona, crushed Martin Klizan in straight sets earlier today. The line score in the match was 6-1, 6-2 and it thrust Japan’s top player into the final of the 500-series event on Sunday.

For Nishikori the Barca final represents a chance to continue the momentum that he’s had since making the US Open final. Furthermore, if Nishikori protects the 500 ranking points he earned from winning the Barcelona title last season, he would keep himself in serious contention of grabbing the World No. 2 position in the months ahead.

For Andujar, a much lesser talent, the Barcelona final actually represents a career-match. The 29-year old has never made the final of a 500-series event or better as all of his championship match appearances have come at the 250-level.

But Nishikori and Andujar met on clay at the 2013 Madrid Masters and it was the Spaniard who pulled off the upset in the quarterfinal round. Should he pull off an upset again on Sunday then the World No. 66 would actually be in serious contention for a seed at Roland Garros in May.

All considered, Japan’s top player is at the peak of his game and it will likely take much-much more than Andujar to curb his results. Tennis fans would be smart to jump on Nishikori’s side now so you don’t look like a bandwagon jumper later.

The End of Violence in Football

Just when will the violence in football end? Never, and I’m talking on the field as well as off. The recent conviction of wannabe and “actually be” thug, Aaron Hernandez showed the world just what football players are capable of doing when they get off track. Hernandez is an especially bad example of a football player, having been found guilty of murder and facing another trial for two additional homicides. Not every NFL or college team has this type of person on the roster thankfully. But to think football is not littered with guys who are perfectly comfortable being around violence is naive.

I hate violence. Most normal people do as well. I love football however, so I must enjoy violence on some basic level. Many so called experts say that football is the most popular U.S. sport because it is so violent. That is only partially true though. I love big hits, but I have always celebrated big plays more than a guy getting jacked up into unconsciousness. Seeing Russell Wilson twist the dagger in the heart of Green Bay in overtime last year was much more satisfying than seeing a linebacker rip Aaron Rodgers‘ leg off his hip.

I don’t want to persecute the sport I enjoy above all others too much. After all, there are murderers who have worked on Wall Street, rapists who used to be accountants, and doctors who have abused their wives. People are people and sometime they get sideways, have a bad day and do something awful like assault and battery. And some everyday people are just plain bad and commit violent behavior on a regular basis. I have to imagine that workplaces that have some connection to violence are more apt to have workers that commit violent acts. Football is a violent workplace. If you don’t think so, just listen to any practice with the coach verbally abusing the players or having the team attack each other in bull-in-the-ring drills. And that’s just practice! The games are the real deal as rivals are amped up to hit someone besides their teammates they have been sweating with for weeks during training camp.

aaron hernandez and rae carruth 2015

What can coaches and other leaders in the NFL and college do to weed out insanely violent people like Aaron Hernandez and Rae Carruth? These guys can’t do it themselves. They are too close to the players and they need to win ball games. Winning is and should be their main focus. Don’t win and they are no longer coaching. What they could do is have mental evaluations on every player or monthly counseling sessions to try and find a smaller problem before it explodes into a larger one. Perhaps some time on a psychologist’s couch early on in college would have kept Aaron Hernandez from killing multiple people, allegedly, after becoming a multimillionaire.

Is the onus on fans to turn away from the violence of football? I hope no one is depending on that happening. Football is not going anywhere anytime soon. Fans will keep watching no matter what. You can just check out how many Ray Rice jerseys were worn by female Ravens fans even after his punch went viral. No moral person wants to see murderers like Hernandez commit these heinous acts. Murder is a step too far for most fans. Domestic abuse is frowned upon as well, unless you can get 15 sacks a year. Just ask Cowboys fans who will be lined up to buy Greg Hardy jerseys if he gets off to a good start once he is eligible to play on Thanksgiving.

I will admit it’s easy to get caught up in the hype and glory of the game of football. Humans crashing into each other play after play and game after game can get lost in the mix of touchdown celebrations and heroic comebacks. Fans need a reminder that this game is not all fun, and well, games. People get hurt often and the long term effects are undeniable. And that is just the on field action. The junk that happens off the field as a result of the connection to constant violent aggression can’t be overlooked. Fans are appalled when a guy breaks a leg in a game or they hear about Rae Carruth murdering his pregnant girlfriend. What were they expecting, rainbows and unicorn drawings? Why do people watch NASCAR races other than to cure insomnia? Surely they don’t enjoy four hours of cars driving in circles. It’s the possibility of big wrecks of course.

In many ways football is the perfect sport. The team concept is on display on every play. There is the on field leader in the form of a QB working in tandem with the sideline general in the form of the head coach. There are athletic players with blazing speed who can wreck even the perfectly planned play. Football is simply awesome. But if a person dreamed up a perfect world, this game could not be part of that. Violence is one of the worst traits of mankind. Without that same trait, there is no football.

Of course football isn’t the only sport that has issues with violence off the field of play. Sprinters sometimes shoot their beautiful girlfriends through bathroom doors, NBA players have been known to try to strangle their coach, and even NASCAR guys have been accused of domestic abuse. Boxing is notorious for having their athletes involved in super violent acts. It is the nature of sport. Their guys are used to hitting others and getting hit. It is second nature, just like in football.

Can the leaders in the world of football do better? Absolutely. There are programs that can be instituted to help players deal with issues in nonviolent ways. Coaches, who many players look to as mentors, can make time for preaching the benefits of walking away from violent situations. A few minutes a week shouldn’t cut into the game planning too much. Even out-of-the-box solutions like having players in martial arts programs would be helpful for them to learn the benefits of self-defense while being taught how to respect their fellow human travelers.

There will always be random situations with guys like Aaron Hernandez. Some guys like the thug life and will be right at home in prison. You can’t prevent every act of violence, either in the world of football or outside it. There can be efforts made to improve the overall image of the game though. Steps have been slowly taken to tone down the super violent hits, although that took a billion-dollar lawsuit. Also, domestic abuse is finally under the microscope after 2014 was wrought with those cases in the NFL. Football may be slowly moving in a better direction, but don’t expect giant leaps to a gentle nonviolent pigskin future. The only future with nonviolent football would be one with no football whatsoever.

Kei Nishikori Wins Barcelona: Andy Murray & Roger Federer Updates

0

kei nishikori wins barcelona open title 2015

Kei Nishikori, a player who is enjoying a ton of success at this point is his career, was back in the winner’s circle at the ATP Barcelona 2015 event on Sunday. Nishikori defeated Spain’s Pablo Andujar in the championship final of the 500-series event in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

The win represents a title defence for Japan’s top player and, accordingly, Nishikori defended the 500 ranking points that he earned in winning Barcelona 2014. He will remain the World No. 5 when rankings update on Monday. Those following his season can next expect to see him contest the 2015 Madrid Masters draw, a tournament that will begin in early May.

Andujar, despite the loss to Nishikori, promises to be an interesting player to watch during the remainder of the clay court season. With an appearance in the Barca final the Spaniard, who is gaining some momentum after a poor start to the season, will jump up about twenty-five spots on Monday. The Barcelona runnerup will likely be ranked in the World No. 40 to World No. 42 range and a seed at the French Open is not that far out of his grasp.

Andujar is in next week’s ATP Munich draw however you have to wonder if he will withdraw from the event following tiring efforts in Barcelona. If not, then not much should be expected of the Spaniard as he picked up a tricky draw in Munich, one that will see him face Joao Souza in the first round and, surviving that, Gael Monfils in the second.

In total the ATP will feature three tournaments ahead of the 2015 Madrid Masters. This upcoming week ATP Munich, ATP Estoril, and ATP Istanbul will all be played. All three of those events are mere 250-level tournaments however they have still managed to bring out a couple of the best players on tour.

andy murray headlining munich open 2015

Andy Murray, for example, will headline Munich as the top seed. The Scot, playing in his first tournament as a husband, is staring down was has to be called a pretty soft draw. Murray will enjoy a bye in Munich’s first round, he’ll face no one more proven than Jan-Lennard Struff in the second, and then Murray will likely face either Florian Mayer or Lukas Rosol in the third round. The other main contenders in Munich are Monfils, David Goffin, Roberto Bautista Agut, and, if he’s playing good, Janko Tipsarevic.

roger federer playing atp istanbul draw 2015

Roger Federer will also be in action this week as his name is in the ATP Istanbul draw. Federer does not appear to have a threat on his half of the draw unless Jurgen Melzer, a former French Open semifinalist, can turn back the clock a few years. But in the championship final Federer could face either Grigor Dimitrov or Pablo Cuevas.

In Estoril, there are no top-tenners in the players list. However the final could still produce a match-up between Feliciano Lopez and Kevin Anderson, the top two seeds in the event.

All of the clay court events to be played in the weeks ahead lead up to the 2015 French Open in late May and early June. Touted as a showdown between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, it might end up as a showdown between Djokovic and Nishikori.

GRIMM LOVE: A Bizarre True Life Love Story That Misses the Mark REVIEW

Grimm Love follows a graduate student who currently resides in Germany as she researches Oliver Hagen, a cannibal, for her thesis. This cannibal situation is unlike anything she’s ever heard before. Hagen finds a man through the internet who willingly wants to be eaten. As student Katie Armstrong continues to submerge herself in the case, her life becomes equally as Grimm.

The plot line of this movie is like a nasty train wreck. No matter how badly you’re disgusted by it, you still feel like you have to watch it. One of the major forces behind wanting to watch this film for me is that it’s a true story. Yup, it’s a true story based on the case of Armin Meiwes who found someone online who willingly wanted to be cannibalized.

It’s an unbelievably bizarre, morbid and sad story that gives you much to think about. During the main character Katie Armstrong’s monologue, questions about how far we’re willing to go to be truly understood and loved are talked about. Although this is a good question to ask, I’m not sure it’s the most important. I would have also liked them to explore whether the killer is truly a killer if he kills a willing victim and if the willing victim is even able to consent to such activity due to possible mental illness.

One of the movie’s highlights is that it does follow the original story pretty closely as I learned through doing a little digging myself and watching a documentary about the life of the killer as well as the victim. The movie does itself a big disservice however by including the fiction research student Katie in the story. Her story line gives the movie no purpose and no drive. I actually found myself greatly wanting to fast forward through some of her scenes to get back to the main plot line. At the end of the movie this becomes impossible and her presence just feels annoying.

grimm love review 2015

The movie tells the story through effectively emotional flashbacks that give you a real sense of who the killer and victim were even if you can never wrap your mind around why two people would ever want to do this. I enjoyed the sequences about the killer and the victim as they were moody and a disturbed feeling pretty much poured out of every scene. The scenes with Katie however, slowed down the flow of the film greatly and left my attention disjointed at times. This is the biggest reason why it misses the mark. They clearly used actress Kerri Russell to sell the film to American audiences, not to help make a good film.

While the film’s subject was completely dark and bleak, I don’t think it can be called an out and out horror film. Even though the DVD comes with a Fangoria Frightfest label across the top, it serves more as an extreme psychological thriller. The scenes are almost always shot in dark, gray or beige scenes covered in blackness or shallow light. It’s effectively eerily. As the two men get closer and closer to finding each other through their fetish, your dread grows deeper. From reading about the movie you’ll know what the end of it will be, but it’s still hard to accept it. There are some seriously disturbing scenes although none of the abhorrent violence is shown directly.

There are clearly disturbing moments in the film scattered throughout, but the most heart pounding moments come within the last 20 minutes of the movie. The scenes that bothered me the most weren’t necessarily the most violent ones, they were the ones that implied the depth of the depravity in their short and unusual relationship.

grimm love armin meiwes review images 2015

This movie is definitely worth the watch although the ending does a terrible job in giving you a sense of closure at the end of the film, another thing that makes it less enjoyable. However, if you’re looking for the most unusual love story of the century give this underground film a try.

2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Wild Canadiens Move Forward & Lightning vs Red Wings

wilds and canadiens move ahead for 2015 stanley cup playoffs images

The 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs continued on Sunday and two more teams advanced to the second round.

In the early game of the day, the Minnesota Wild hosted the St. Louis Blues in St. Paul. The Wild carried a 3-2 series lead into game six and they were able to close out the series behind an impressive defensive performance. Devan Dubnyk, the goaltender for Minnesota, stopped 30 of 31 shots, allowing the Wild to eliminate the Blues with a 4-1 game six victory.

The goal scorers for Minnesota were Zach Parise (2), Justin Fontaine, and Nino Niederreiter. T.J. Oshie, in a losing effort, had the only goal in the game for the Blues. The Wild will next face the Chicago Blackhawks, a team who eliminated Nashville earlier in the weekend.

In the late game on Sunday, the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Ottawa Senators in game six of their series from Canada’s capital. Fans of the Canadiens must have let out a collective sigh when their side completed the series without being forced to play a decisive game seven. Montreal had let an early 3-0 series lead slip away a bit as Ottawa closed the gap to 3-2.

However Carey Price, in posting a shutout in game six, made forty-three saves in earning top honors for the game. That kind of defensive performance was what it took to end a valiant Ottawa run, one that started in the closing months of the regular season. Montreal still await their opponent in the second round as they look to make it to the conference finals for the second straight year.

While most of the first round series are over, the fixtures for the second round are not yet all set.

The Lightning and Red Wings are scheduled for a 7pm ET time start on Monday night for what will be game six of their series. Furthermore, the New York Islanders and the Washington Capitals will play at 7:30pm. Should the Red Wings win, they would advance to the second round behind a 4-2 series victory. Should Tampa Bay win, it would force a decisive game seven and prolong the first round just a little bit longer. However the Washington/New York series is guaranteed to conclude on Monday night with the winner to face the New York Rangers.

Cleveland Cavaliers Sweeps Boston Celtics: Kevin Love Injury Could Hurt with Bulls

0

cleveland cavaliers beat boston celtics nba 2015

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers completed the sweep of the Boston Celtics with a 101-93 victory in Game 4 of the first round matchup. The Cavs will move on to play the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

With the win, LeBron James improves to 10-0 in first round matchups, which is nothing less than impressive; however, LeBron is more focused on bringing a banner back to Cleveland. Well, his team may be a little short-handed for their second round series against the Bulls as his teammates face injury and possible suspension.

There is still some uncertainty surrounding superstar Kevin Love, who was injured on a dirty play by Kelly Olynyk. Olynyk wasn’t going for the rebound when Love was injured, he was nowhere near the ball. Players’ arms get tangled all the time, but you can see Olynyk tug on Love’s arm twice, pulling his shoulder out of place on the second attempt.

kevin love shoulder injury for cavaliers 2015

“I thought it was a bush-league play,” said Love after the game. “I have no doubt in my mind that he did it on purpose.”

Maybe Olynyk is upset that he’s been an absolute nobody in the NBA since coming out of Gonzaga in 2013, whereas Love has finally been receiving the attention he deserves as a superstar player.

As if the possibility of losing one starter weren’t bad enough, J.R. Smith will more than likely be missing at least Game 1 of the second round after swinging at Jae Crowder’s face, causing Crowder to fall to the ground and sprain his knee in the process. Not a smart move at all by Smith in a game that the Cavs were never really in danger of losing.

On a less-serious note, the Cavs may also lose Kendrick Perkins for a game, after pushing Crowder to the ground while “setting a pick” earlier in the game. Perkins only played two minutes in Game 2 before coming into Game 4, so it wouldn’t be a huge loss; but the Bulls do have a lot of size and Perkins could definitely prove somewhat useful in the next series.

Safest Picks for 2015 NFL Draft

0

2015 nfl draft safest picks images

The 2015 NFL Draft is coming up, and all the talk is about quarterbacks Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. The sad truth is, picking a quarterback in the first round of the draft is a gamble. The Indianapolis Colts were fortunate that Andrew Luck turned out well, whereas the Washington Redskins are still trying to recover from the lasting damage trading up to acquire Robert Griffin III caused to the franchise.

Winston and Mariota could turn out great, but they could easily belly flop in the pros. Fortunately for teams picking in the first round, there is plenty of reliable talent out there. Let’s take a look at some of the best NFL prospects for the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft:

amari cooper safe 2015 nfl draft pick 2015

Amari Cooper, wide receiver, University of Alabama: Let’s start with arguably the most raw-talented player in the draft. Cooper comes from a Nick Saban pro-style offense, so he’s already knowledgeable and prepared to run the sort of routes he’ll need to know on Sundays. And boy does he run those well. He has the speed to beat defenders down the field, the agility to make them miss on the first tackle, and the size and hands to make a play on balls thrown to the middle of the field. Cooper is a star ready to contribute on day one for any team that picks him; and the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins, and New York Jets could all use a receiver to help their struggling quarterbacks.

leonard williams safe 2015 nfl draft picks 2015

Leonard Williams, defensive line, USC: There’s a reason Williams is being consistently rated as the top prospect in the 2015 Draft. Williams has shown tremendous consistency in his talent, giving coaches at the Scouting Combine exactly what he gave fans on the football field. With 21 sacks over his collegiate career and 36.5 tackles for loss, Williams is ready to be a force in big leagues. Plenty of teams need a big body on defense, so don’t expect Williams to drop out of the top five. In fact, if Williams makes it past the Tennessee Titans, the Jacksonville Jaguars will snag him up for sure.

kevin white safe 2015 nfl draft picks 2015

Kevin White, wide receiver, West Virginia: White comes into the 2015 NFL Draft right alongside Cooper in terms of talent, making wide receiver arguably the safest position to draft in the top 10 this season. With a 4.35 40-time and a little more size than Cooper, White was absolutely uncoverable in 2014, scorching defenses for 1,447 yards and 10 touchdowns. For a lot of teams picking early in the draft, White is exactly what they need and can improve their offense immediately. Whether Cooper or White is the first receiver drafted, teams can expect great things from these two men.

trae waynes safe nfl 2015 draftpicks 2015

Trae Waynes, cornerback, Michigan State: At 6’1 with a 4.31 40-time, Waynes is easily the top cornerback in this year’s draft. He’s a very physical back which can be frowned upon in the NFL, but with his talent he will quickly find a way to adjust to the pros. Waynes has the potential to stop some of the best receivers in the league as early as Week 1. With big hands and strong arms, Waynes is fantastic in press coverage; and he does a great job disrupting receivers on the line of scrimmage and forcing them to readjust their routes. Waynes had three interceptions and 46 tackles this past season for Michigan State, but because of the other players available he may drop just outside of the top 10. If so, the Minnesota Vikings will certainly pick him up at No. 11. Either way, Waynes will be the first cornerback called; and the best one in the class.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Lifts Bucks over Derrick Rose & Bulls in Game 4

Giannis Antetokounmpo leads bucks to beat bulls game 4 nba 2015

The Milwaukee Bucks will live to see another day in the 2014-2015 NBA Playoffs after a fantastic Game 4 ended in a 92-90 Bucks victory. The Bulls may still lead the series 3-1; but a playoff victory can go a long way for a young, developing team like the Bucks.

The Bucks were definitely ready to play in this game going on a 21-2 run at one point, but Jimmy Butler kept the Bulls in it throughout the game, putting up 23 in the first half.

In the end, the game was won after a Bucks steal and a heads up timeout by head coach Jason Kidd turned into a fantastic, well-executed play drawn up by Kidd. Jerryd Bayless’s last second layup won them the game.

milawaukee bucks beat bulls game 4 nba 2015

We learned a lot about both teams in this game. First, the Bucks are turning into a legitimate competitor. They aren’t there yet; but Giannis Antetokounmpo, Michael Carter-Williams, and the injured Jabari Parker are the young talent and future of this franchise. On top of that, they have a deep bench, veterans like O.J. Mayo, and a heck of a coach in Jason Kidd. Look for the Bucks to get better over the next few seasons.

As for the Bulls, everyone was raving that they would be the team to beat with Derrick Rose healthy again. That may be the case, but they certainly didn’t show it in this game. Milwaukee did a fantastic job shutting down Joakim Noah in this game, allowing them to focus on Rose and the other members of the Bulls. Butler and Pau Gasol kept the team in the game, but with his team totaling 28 turnovers it wasn’t easy for him.

aaron brooks shot for bulls losing to bucks game 4 nba 2015

Down 3-1 in this series, the Bucks don’t really have much of a chance to save their season. However, the fast-improving Bucks just may find themselves in a position for revenge in the first or second round next season.

Moving forward, the Bulls will need to learn to take care of the ball if they want to put up a fight against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round.

It wasn’t exactly pretty, but the Brooklyn Nets got it done at home in the Barclays Center to cut the Atlanta Hawks lead in the best-of-seven series to one, 91-83.

The Game 3 victory was huge for the Nets. They proved that although they may be the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference, they do pose a legitimate threat the struggling Hawks.

The Nets got it done with a little help from everyone. Three Nets starters finished with double-doubles: Joe Johnson with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Thaddeus Young with 18 points and 11 boards, and then Brook Lopez with 22 and 13. In fact, Deron Williams was the only starter that struggled in the game, finishing 1-of-8 for only 3 points.

The turning point in the game came with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, when the Nets began their 18-0 run, more to the Hawks demise than their credit. The Hawks could see a single shot through the hoop. Sharp-shooter Kyle Korver finished with 2 points in over 38 minutes on the court, missing every three-point shot he attempted.

The biggest thing to take away from this game is the dominance in the paint by Lopez. The Hawks simply cannot deal with size, and given their recent struggles the Nets can definitely exploit this fault in the Atlanta defense for a legitimate shot in the series. The Nets didn’t feed Lopez in Game 1; but in Game 2 in Atlanta they did a much better job of getting him the ball down low, resulting in a much closer game.

Only five 8th seeds have ever upset the top seed in NBA history; and since it’s possible, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that Brooklyn has a legitimate chance here. Another win in Game 4 to even it up at 2-2, and suddenly it’s anyone’s series again. If Deron Williams can get going and they continue to feed Lopez on the post, the Nets just may find themselves moving to the second round.

GAME OF THRONES Ep 502 Recap: Arya’s Black & White Surprise

The opening of this week’s Game of Thrones episode was a magnificent scene with Arya Stark sailing through the awe inspiring entrance to Braavos. She is seeking out her personal assassin, Jaqen H’ghar. She doesn’t have a lot of people to turn to since seemingly everyone she is connected to ends up dead. The person who would provide her the most safety, Brienne, Arya wanted no part of after seeing her battle The Hound last season. Braavos is a very busy place with lots of commerce and people hustling every which way. Arya makes her way to the “House of Black and White” to no avail as she sits outside waiting and waiting, reciting the names of those she wishes dead. After her patience runs out, she tosses the coin given to her by Jaqen into the sea.

Speaking of Brienne, she is still kinda emo as her and Pod make their way and end up in the same inn as Littlefinger and Sansa Stark. Once again, Brienne’s help is refused by one of Catelyn Stark’s daughters. Sansa is content to stay with Petyr at this point, and who could blame her. I’d take my chances with him and his band of guards over a single lady and her squire. Brienne and Pod get separated after they flee the inn and she ends up saving him from a couple of Petyr’s guards. Brienne may be the best fighter among the main characters at this point, with the Kingslayer forced to fight southpaw and the Mountain nearly dying at the hands of Oberyn. Bronn may have an edge on the lady knight, but not by much.

game of thrones 5 jamie with cersie black white recap 2015

Cersei is all over Jaime, and not in an incestuous way. She is fearful for the life of her daughter that Tyrion had sent away to Dorne. Cersei blames Jaime for their kid being there in the first place and sees him as being unable to protect any of their bastard children. Cersei figures the rulers in Dorne would do what she would, namely slaughter an innocent child to avenge the death of their prince. If Oberyn’s lover, Ellaria Sand, had her way then that is exactly what would happen. She is quite pissed about seeing her prince’s head splattered all over the ground. Oberyn’s brother, Prince Doran Martell, won’t hear of it as “they do not mutilate little girls in Dorne.” Also he knows that his brother was not murdered, but killed in a trial by combat that he had volunteered to be involved in. Some people in this universe are actually civilized. Too bad they seem to be going extinct rapidly.

One of my favorite characters made an appearance this week. Bronn is seen strolling along with his lady on the beach in front of his new castle, which is pretty great. Cersei set him up nicely in exchange for him not being Tyrion’s champion. Bronn made out like a bandit on that deal, as I’m not too sure he would have taken on the Mountain in that fight anyway. Too little to gain and too much to lose. Jaime offers the mercenary an even bigger castle if he helps him get his daughter home safely from Dorne. Bronn is going to go since this sets up a good road trip between two very interesting characters. Does Bronn really need a larger castle though? Oh and the Lannisters’ power is shaky at best right now, so Jaime may be writing checks with his golden hand that his crumbling family cannot cash.

Cersei is basically ruling in Tommen’s stead. She has begun paying for the heads of little people who look anything like Tyrion. She is a vicious person to have in charge of a bounty hunting scenario. She wasn’t even too unhappy with the wrong heads being handed to her. She felt like the bounty hunters were making a good effort and didn’t want to dampen their enthusiasm. What a psycho!

I can’t believe Jon Snow would turn down Stannis when he is offered the him the name of Stark along with lordship of Winterfell if he simply fights for him. Snow is too loyal for his own good. He is intent on keeping his oath to the Night’s Watch and that damn wall! As the Watchmen vote in a new leader, having lost the former one in the wildling battle, Sam nominates his boy Jon for the leadership role. Sam also clowns the bald guy, Janos Slynt, who cowered in a hidden room as the battle with the wildlings raged on. Sam is not the pushover he once was and I like the new confidence.

The vote ended up a tie between Snow and Ser Alliser Thorne, so Aemon Targaryen put his deciding vote on Jon Snow. Quite the endorsement. Nice that Snow is the leader, but he is still at this miserable place leading a bunch of rejects. Better to have a lion leading a bunch of jackasses than a jackass leading a pack of lions I guess, but not better for the lion in charge. It appears that the wall would have to be completely over run and everyone there killed in order for Jon Snow to get out of his oath to the Night’s Watch.

Daenerys continues to struggle with her leadership. There is no right or wrong way to handle these weird scenarios she faces. If she does nothing to the former slave who kills one of the masked men that is awaiting trial, then her authority and her laws have no teeth. But if she beheads the newly free young man, which is exactly what happens, then the former slaves turn on her for not showing mercy. The crowd wide hissing was pretty scary even before the stones started flying toward the platinum haired queen. She cannot appear weak even when she does something unpopular. Rulers can’t second guess themselves or have anyone else doing so in public.

Dany’s inner circle wanted to guard her during the night after the riot resulting from the execution she ordered. But she declined, went to the roof of the pyramid for some clarity, and low and behold, Drogon had returned, perched above her. Daenerys touched the giant flamethrower briefly before he took flight once again. This dragon is huge at this point and will wreak havoc on any city he chooses. It’s just a matter of who controls him. Dany’s control is getting shakier just like the Lannisters’. Her people and her dragons are not falling in line like they once did. Ruling ain’t easy girl, especially when you have a conscious.

Next week should heat up a bit as the table has been set. I like the prospect of Jaime and Bronn hitting the trail together and we are in store for more great things from the duo of Varys and Tyrion. I don’t like the fact that Jon Snow will be staying at the wall, but it could set up to be even better than him fighting in Stannis’ army. I don’t see how that’s possible, however last year’s battle at the wall was one of the best episodes of the entire series.
