FULL HOUSE Less Full Without Olsen Twins But No One’s Surprised

mary kate and ashley olsen not returning to full house 2015

It was recently announced that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not be reprising their role as Michelle Tanner on what is sure to be a sickly sweet follow up to the show Full House airing on Netflix. Everyone is the cast returning know that they aren’t going to be making the money on this return that the producers made on the original, and they don’t seem to be surprised that the twins wouldn’t want to thank their fans by returning.

Sources on the set have already commented no one is really surprised as the twins have done everything possible to distance themselves from their humble beginnings sharing one role. “You would think that they’d be more thankful to their fans as these two would never have had the career they did if not for Full House. It’s sad that they’re turning their back on everyone here, but even sadder is it’s not a surprise.”

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family,” executive producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement. “It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.

john stamos with mary kate olsen as baby full house 2015

This announcement comes after last month when past co-star John Stamos announced the show’s return on Jimmy Kimmel Live. As fans of the sitcom rejoiced, the twins said they had not been made aware of the plan to bring the show back. Stamos took to twitter to thankfully say what we were all thinking: “bullshit.” The tweet was later deleted, but his real feelings were already known.

The show will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2016. The series picks up with D.J. Tanner-Fuller employed as a vet, yet pregnant and recently widowed while living in San Francisco. Stephanie is now an aspiring musician (still aspiring after all these years, huh) and Kimmy who is now a single mom to a trouble making teen named Ramona. All of them move in to help D.J. Take of her two boys and her soon-to-be-born baby. John Stamos will produce the show and appear as Uncle Jesse once again in a guest role. Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin are in talks to come back as cast members as well.

It amazes me how Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen became famous from being cute twins who uttered some corny lines half-way convincingly a few times per episode. The girls went on to do direct-to-video movies and specials with Dualstar Entertaiment and grew to super star status. Once Full House ended and the girls were older (they started the show at only 9 months old), they starred in two quickly canceled TV series. The twins haven’t acted in many years. Ashley’s last acting opportunity was an uncredited role in 2010’s I’m Still Here and Mary-Kate appeared in Beastly back in 2011. The girls have been focusing on developing their fashion lines.

Full House was a show we often laughed at for its awfulness in my house and then quickly turned the channel. It was filled with unrelateble story lines of a happy-go-lucky Caucasian family who’s problems usually amounted to no more than a tiff over “unfair grounding practices.” How these girls ended up with millions and millions of dollars is beyond me. They turned out to be very mediocre adult actresses, but they did prove something: branding is a powerful thing!

Netflix is so hot right now that an acting gig on one of their series could really revitalize their acting careers. Maybe their not interested in acting anymore, just pushing over-priced handbags. Whatever their reason, it’s not going to cause a hole in the stories plot line or cause true fans not to watch it so, doesn’t look like they’ll little snub will have much of an affect on anything anytime soon.

‘Charming’ Aaron Hernandez Making Prison Life Very Adaptable

aaron hernandez using charm to fit into prison 2015

Many people have had many different names for former New England Patriots football player Aaron Hernandez, but one man who knows him best can describe him in one single word, ‘charming’.

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson, who has spent time talking to Hernandez firsthand, says that the former Patriots tight end’s charisma is most likely helping him build a social network to support him behind bars.

“When he was with us, we had to handpick the officers we wanted to be around him, because he’s very manipulative,” Hodgson has said repeatedly in the media. “He has a lot of charm and uses that to get what he wants and position himself with others.”

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson said Hernandez knows how to use his charm and manipulate better than anyone he has ever seen. He said Hernandez was generally affable and polite and would try to use those qualities to get what he wanted at the Bristol County House of Corrections.

“He would make every effort to get extra sandwiches,” Hodgson said. “He would just try to convince the officers to give him more than what they otherwise could get.”

Staff members were directed to treat Hernandez like any other inmate, Hodgson said.

charming aaron hernandez making prison life adaptable
After Hernandez’s most recent appearance sporting a new “lifetime” neck tattoo and reports of the convicted murderer participating in a two-on-one prison fight, Hodgson said that Hernandez could be doing well socially in the Shirley correctional facility currently holding him.

“Knowing he’s in prison now for life, it shouldn’t surprise anybody that he will be trying to create a network of people in there, and establish his own sort of societal group,” Hodgson said.

When asked if Hernandez might be creating his own prison gang, Hodgson said: “He’s certainly somebody that has the capabilities.”

Hernandez could be disciplined for the new prison tattoo, but Hodgson said he doesn’t think the newly debuted ink is about rebellion. “I don’t see it as that, it’s more of a calculated attempt to establish himself among the people around him,” he said. “To make a lifetime allegiance of self-importance.”

Hernandez was convicted April 15 of the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee. He will ultimately end up at the maximum-security Souza-Baranowski state prison. A lawyer for Hernandez did not immediately return messages seeking comment on the sheriff’s remarks.

After the verdict was delivered, staff from Bristol County brought Hernandez to a state prison not far from Gillette Stadium, where Hernandez used to play football in front of tens of thousands of cheering fans.

There, he told them, “I’ll miss you guys, but they got it wrong,” Hodgson said. “He didn’t really have much of a change in his demeanor. He pretty much still had a swagger in his step.”

Hodgson said the 25-year-old Hernandez has an ability to compartmentalize things and lock out the negative.

“He doesn’t really look at it as jail,” Hodgson said. “It’s more like training camp.”

Hernandez got into trouble from time to time in jail in Bristol County. He was accused of threatening to kill a prison guard and his family, and he got into a fight with another inmate.

Asked how he thinks Hernandez will do in prison, Hodgson said he thought he’d be OK.

“He’ll probably do fine. He’ll be able to talk his way through everything,” Hodgson said, adding that disrespect is a “hot-button” issue for Hernandez. “If someone’s trying to outwardly and aggressively disrespect him, that could create a problem.”

Hodgson said he had many conversations with Hernandez about his father, who died unexpectedly when Hernandez was 16. Hernandez would tell him how his father commanded respect whenever he walked into a room.

”His father was a huge, huge influence in his life and really his anchor,” Hodgson said. “If you disrespected him, it’s like you disrespected his father.”

Rafael Nadal Gets Tough Draw For 2015 French Open

Rafael Nadal has had the tennis world on his shoulders this season, and many times a weaker player would have just shrugged and given up, but not Rafa. Even after falling to fifth place, jumping up to fourth place and then tumbling to seventh in the tennis rankings have not stopped the Spanish powerhouse. He even had the good fortune of Novak Djovic pulling out of the Madrid Open only to be bested by Andy Murray.

At the Rome Open, both the world and he were shocked when Stan Wawrinka knocked him out of the quarter-finals. Now just as he’s set to enter the French Open that he’s won nine times, he is given yet another huge obstacle: Novak Djokovic in the quater-finals.

The draw Friday could hardly have been more unkind for the nine-time champion whose confidence and reign as “King of Clay” look shaky.

There were “oohs” and “aahs” in the auditorium as defending women’s champion Maria Sharapova plucked out Nadal’s name to set up another potential blockbuster encounter with top-ranked Novak Djokovic. Only this time, the finalists of 2012 and 2014 are on course to meet in the quarterfinals.

Just to get that far, Nadal could have to beat one of tennis’ rising stars, 10th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov, in the fourth round. And possibly lurking in the semifinals could be Andy Murray, the 2013 Wimbledon and 2012 U.S. Open champion who hasn’t lost a match since marrying longtime girlfriend Kim Sears last month.

Nadal has faced tough draws before. In 2011, 2013 and again last year, he beat three top 10 players on his way to victory. And his 66-1 record at Roland Garros, with his only loss coming in the fourth round in 2009, means he cannot be written off despite recent chinks in his usually iron-clad clay-court game and self-belief.

Still, if the June 7 final again finishes with Nadal biting the Musketeers Cup, this Roland Garros could be his crowning achievement, given the traps awaiting him.

“I think I can do it,” Nadal said Friday. “Do it is another thing.”

The 28-year-old Spaniard has fallen to No. 7 in the ATP rankings since coming back from a right wrist injury, appendix surgery and treatment on his back, dropping his seeding to six, his lowest ever at Roland Garros. That left Nadal more vulnerable than usual to the bad luck that bit in Friday’s draw. But tournament director Gilbert Ysern said there was never any thought of bumping up Nadal’s seeding to shield him.

“Everybody had their eyes on this potential clash between Nadal and Djokovic,” Ysern said. “Three or four years ago we thought about giving him a higher seeding when he dropped in the rankings because of a long lay-off due to an injury. But this year it’s different, because his ranking dropped mainly due to his results on court. We did not even think about it and he did not ask for it. It’s not his style to ask for anything.”

Djokovic has never beaten Nadal in six attempts at Roland Garros. Despite the prospect of meeting him again in the quarterfinals, the eight-time major winner was in jovial mood as tournament organizers feted his 28th birthday on Friday by delivering a beautiful tiered cake to his news conference, shortly after Djokovic had finished explaining that Nadal, because of his almost unblemished record at Roland Garros, is still “definitely right up there in top favorites to win.”

“Mmm,” Djokovic said as he tucked into a gluten- and sugar-free slice, as per his diet. “Looks like my wedding cake.”

Nadal has had his worst run-up ever this season to tennis’ second major, losing five times on clay, including straight-set defeats to Murray in a Madrid final and in a Monte Carlo semifinal to Djokovic.

“It’s not terrible. But if we compare with other years, obviously looks bad, no? That’s always going to happen when you achieve a lot in the past,” Nadal said.

In the women’s draw, 19-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams faces a potential third-round match against former No. 1 Victoria Azarenka, seeded 27th.

Williams will face a qualifier in the first round and said treatment has helped alleviate her painful right elbow. Her sister Venus got a tough first-round opponent in Sloane Stephens, a semifinalist at the 2013 Australian Open who has reached the fourth round for the last three years at Roland Garros.

The Williams sisters could then meet each other in the fourth round if they get that far. Fifth-seeded Caroline Wozniacki and sixth-seeded Eugenie Bouchard, who broke through last season by reaching the semifinals at the Australian and French Opens and the final at Wimbledon, also are in the Williams sisters’ half. So, too, is fourth-seeded Petra Kvitova, a two-time Wimbledon champion still without a final in any of the other three majors.

On Sharapova’s side of the draw, eighth-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro looms as a tough potential opponent for the second-seeded Russian in the quarterfinals. If both get that far, Sharapova and the losing finalist she beat last year, third-seeded Simona Halep, could meet in the semifinals. Sharapova begins the defense of her title against 49th-ranked Kaia Kanepi.

Nadal, as defending men’s champion, was called upon to draw out the names of the seeded women, with fingers on his left hand already taped. Nadal rubbed his chin and looked less than comfortable as Sharapova drew out names of the men.

With Djokovic, Nadal, the third-seeded Murray and 2013 runner-up David Ferrer all in the same half of the draw, the road for Roger Federer on the other side opened up.

“There is a chance to go very deep,” the 17-time Grand Slam champion said. “How deep remains to be seen depending on the level of play.”

To reach what would be his sixth final in Paris, and first since losing to Nadal in 2011, the 2009 winner could have to overcome 2014 Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals.

Fifth-seeded Kei Nishikori and fourth-seeded Tomas Berdych are also in Federer’s half. They could meet in the quarterfinals, with a potential semifinal against Federer or Wawrinka to follow.

Now back to Nadal:

“Not nice Maria,” joked Toni Nadal in a French radio interview on Friday.

Or maybe Uncle Toni wasn’t joking. As defending women’s champion at the French Open, Maria Sharapova had the honors of pulling the names out of the trophy for the draw of this year’s men’s tournament.

The result of her handiwork? Toni’s nephew Rafael Nadal, the nine-time French Open champion, is in the same quarter of the draw as Novak Djokovic, who is the rightful favorite this year to win the only Grand Slam singles title he lacks.

That could mean a match in the quarterfinals with the gravitas of a final. That did not feel like much of a birthday present for Djokovic, who turned 28 on Friday, and it might not feel like much of a birthday present for Nadal if they play on June 3, which would be his 29th birthday.

Neither man seemed terribly surprised by the turn of events.

“I would love to arrive to that match; that’s my reaction, no?” Nadal said. “I don’t see an easy way to arrive to that match. I am focused on the things that I have to do before that. If I arrive to that match, we’re going to have two days to talk about it.”

“I would love to arrive to that match; that’s my reaction, no?” Nadal said. “I don’t see an easy way to arrive to that match. I am focused on the things that I have to do before that. If I arrive to that match, we’re going to have two days to talk about it.”

“I said a lot of time in my career, I’m not gonna lie if it’s not 100 percent necessary,” he said, sparking laughter in the press room with his caveat. “And that’s it. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, but at the end of the day you can lie here but you cannot lie on the court.”

The truth so far in 2015 is that Djokovic is back in a league of his own, sweeping nearly all before him on hard courts and clay: winning the Australian Open and four Masters 1000 tournaments in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo and, most recently, Rome.

“He’s head and shoulders the best player in the world,” said Brad Gilbert, the coach and analyst. “He’s maybe playing better tennis than anyone I’ve seen play the game.”

That is quite a statement in an era when Roger Federer is still ranked No. 2 and when memories of his best days are still fresh. But Djokovic is a suffocating presence when he is hugging the baseline, making the court look intimidatingly small to his opponents, who can find no apparent weakness.

Djokovic has been a ruthless finisher this year. He was pushed to a third set in three matches in Miami and won those decisive sets 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0. In Rome, he was pushed to a third set in three matches, too, and won the decisive sets: 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1. That is a reflection of great fitness and of great confidence, and though the oft-injured, oft-battered Nadal does look fit, at this stage, his self-belief clearly has a few dents and scratches.

Feeling shaky and feeling drained of hope and desire are different matters. Nadal still looks hungry, even after nine titles on the red clay of Paris and a career record here of 66-1 that looks like a typo.

“He always had a big title on clay coming into Roland Garros and it wasn’t the case this year, so it is probably a bit different approach for him,” said Djokovic on Friday. “But regardless of that, I think he still is playing his best tennis on clay courts in Paris. He has lost only one match in his entire career here, and I think that speaks enough.”

Djokovic has beaten Nadal 20 times (and five times on clay) but never at Roland Garros, where the only man to beat Nadal remains Robin Soderling, who did so in the fourth round in 2009.

If any place is Nadal’s restorative spa, this is the place. From the moment Nadal arrived on Wednesday, he has been logging the hours on the main Philippe Chatrier Court and swatting the ball with the intensity of a man who is not simply tuning up for the real thing but trying to make significant gains in practice.

“When you lose more than other years, it’s obvious the confidence is a little bit less,” Nadal said, adding that “since January, day after day, I think I improved a lot.”

Djokovic is not Nadal’s only challenge in a draw so top-heavy that no engineer would approve it. Though his first-round opponent, the French wildcard Quentin Halys, casts a small shadow, Nadal would next face either Nicolás Almagro or Alexandr Dolgopolov. He could play Grigor Dimitrov, the No. 10 seed, in the fourth round and Andy Murray may be waiting in the semifinals.

But Nadal has always seemed to enjoy the chase more than the meal, which is surely one of the big reasons why he has nine French Open trophies.

On Friday, shortly after the draw, he was back on the Chatrier court, practicing with the American Donald Young. At one stage, Young hit a flashy drop shot and then a flashier passing shot on the run that Nadal stabbed for a winner. Young shrieked, grinned and wheeled in the red clay to share the fun with Nadal.

But there would be no eye contact. The Spaniard already had his back turned and was returning briskly to the baseline. More than ever, he is all business, but anybody who has watched Djokovic lately knows even that may not be enough.

Andy Murray Ready For More Clay Court Action: 2015 French Open

andy murray read for clay court action at french open 2015

Andy Murray surprised many people, including himself, when he rose to the challenge of the clay court season and winning two back to back Titles at Munich and then Madrid. He also learned the valuable lesson of pacing yourself as he wound up getting to the 2015 Rome Open quarter-finals only to withdraw due to exhaustion. He took a short break, and now he’s ready to take on more clay court action, and he should be prepared since he could be going up against Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic pretty soon in the open.

Roger Federer was lucky to have drawn where he’s on the other side and won’t see one of the super three pack until further down the line. Murray even say the betting odds on him fall as he’s proving himself to be more than capable on clay.

The Briton won his first title on the surface in Munich earlier this month and followed up with victory over Rafael Nadal in the Madrid Open final.

Murray, 28, is the third seed at Roland Garros and will face qualifier Facundo Arguello of Argentina in round one.

“It’s probably the best I have played on clay, for sure,” said the Scot, twice a semi-finalist in Paris.

andy murray at 2015 french open

“I never really felt particularly comfortable on the surface. Sometimes by the time I got to the French Open I started to feel good, but obviously winning tournaments and beating good players helps with the confidence.

“I just feel like I have an idea of what I’m doing on the court. Sometimes in the past I have not really known what was happening on the court and felt like I was struggling with my movement.

“This year it doesn’t feel like that. I feel like I’m moving well. I feel a lot freer on the court, my body feels good. That’s positive.”

Murray is in the same half of the draw as nine-time champion Rafael Nadal and top seed Novak Djokovic, who could meet as early as the quarter-finals.

“I think Novak for me goes into the tournament as the favourite now,” said Murray.

[pdf-embedder url=”http://movietvtechgeeks.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/roland-garros-first-round-draw-2015-schedule.pdf”]

“But on that court Rafa’s record is ridiculous. It’s completely possible that he gets out there and feels great, especially if he gets himself into the tournament and wins his first few matches.”

Murray is in Paris with French coach Amelie Mauresmo, who experienced the pressure of being a home favourite as a player but never made it past the quarter-finals in 15 attempts.

Andy Murray’s potential route to the final

Round one: Facundo Arguello (Argentina, ranking 139)
Round two: Vasek Pospisil (Canada, ranking 51)
Round three: Nick Kyrgios (Australia, seeding 29)
Round four: John Isner (US, seeding 16)
Quarter-final: David Ferrer (Spain, seeding 7)
Semi-final: Novak Djokovic (Serbia, seeding 1) / Rafael Nadal (Spain, seeding 6)
Final: Roger Federer (Switzerland, seeding 2)

“For me, that’s one of the benefits of working with a player that’s just played in the slams and done well in the slams,” said Murray.

“They are also aware of the pressures and stuff that comes with trying to win an event like this.

“Amelie obviously put a lot of pressure on herself there, which probably wasn’t beneficial for her performances, and can obviously give me advice and input based on her experiences of playing in these tournaments.

“So it’s good to have experienced ex-players around I think at these times of year.”

Dominic Thiem vs Leonardo Mayer: 2015 Nice Open

Number 42 ranked tennis player Dominic Thiem has knocked out American John Isner at the 2015 Nice Open putting him in the finals to fight it out with fourth seed Leonardo Mayer on Saturday.

Dominic Thiem hit 11 aces Friday to upset second-seeded John Isner and set up a final against Leonardo Mayer at the Open de Nice.

“It’s going to be a little bit different than last year, when I played in front of my home crowd,” said Thiem. “Tomorrow I will be more experienced.

“You don’t play a final every week, so I am really happy. But if I lose tomorrow, I won’t win the tournament. I will do every I can to win my first title.”

The big-serving Isner also had 11 aces and saved seven of eight break points in the first set but lost the first three games of the second set to slump to a 7-6 (5), 6-3 loss at the clay-court tournament.

The 42nd-ranked Thiem is chasing his maiden ATP tour title. “You don’t play a final every week, so I am really happy,” he said. “But if I lose tomorrow, I won’t win the tournament. I will do everything I can to win my first title.”

The fourth-seeded Mayer defeated Borna Coric 6-4, 6-3 in the other semifinal after fending off 11 break points.

He will now look to clinch his first ATP World Tour crown, having finished runner-up to David Goffin in August last year at the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel.

Isner saved seven of eight break points in the first set, before Thiem won the first three games in the second set. Both players hit 11 aces, but it was Thiem who converted his second match point opportunity for his 15th match win of the season. World No. 17 Isner is now 18-12 on the year.

Mayer beat Coric at the tournament for the second straight year, coming through 6-4, 6-3 having saved all 11 break points he faced.

Mayer defeated Thiem 6-3, 6-2 at Hamburg last year.

Thomaz Bellucci vs Joao Sousa: 2015 Geneva Open

thomaz bellucci vs joao sousa geneva open 2015

Thomaz Bellucci has had a pretty easy time at the 2015 Geneva Open after only dropping one set to Marcos Baghdatis, but that has been about the only drama he’s encountered here. The world No. 60 also boasts victories over Denis Istomin, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, and Santiago Giraldo. Bellucci is 3-2 lifetime in ATP finals (3-1 on clay), while Sousa is 1-2 (0-1 on clay). Based on both finals experience and current from (Bellucci is 16-5 in his last 21 matches), a slight edge may go to the Brazilian.

Thomaz Bellucci reached his first ATP World Tour final in two-and-a-half years on Friday.

The 27-year-old Brazilian beat Colombian Santiago Giraldo for the fourth straight time in their seventh tour-level meeting 6-3, 6-4 over 71 minutes at theGeneva Open.

“This is my favourite place to play, actually,” said Bellucci. “The court condition for me, I like it. For my serve, it’s good as well. Maybe I feel very relaxed here.”

Bellucci is now 15-14 on the season and will next attempt to capture his fourth ATP World Tour title.

His last title match came in October 2012 at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow (d. Seppi), while he last lifted silverware in July 2012 at the Swiss Open Gstaad(d. Tipsarevic).

Bellucci will face Joao Sousa in their first ATP World Tour meeting in Saturday’s final after the sixth seed outlasted Federico Delbonis.

A week that began with Sousa’s first-ever showdown against Joao Souza could end with his first-ever title on clay. That will be the case if the world No. 50 can win one more match on Saturday in Geneva. So far this week he has taken out Souza, Jurgen Melzer, Pablo Andujar, and Federico Delbonis. It has been an eventful trek through the draw for Sousa, who opened against the guy with basically the same name, endured a heated controversy involving Melzer, and recovered from 6-2 down in a final-set tiebreaker versus Andujar.

Sousa needed one hour and 52 minutes to win 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. The player from Portugal, who saved four match points on Thursday to beat third seedPablo Andujar, broke the Argentine’s serve to clinch the victory.

It is the fourth ATP World Tour final for Sousa (1-2 record) and his first since Metz in 2014 (l. to Goffin). He captured his maiden title in 2013 at Kuala Lumpur (d. Benneteau).

Cabal/Farah Reach Final

Second seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah advanced to their second final this year after beating Alexander Bury and Denis Istomin 4-6, 6-2, 10-8. The Colombians won the title in Sao Paulo in February, their third team title.

Bill Cosby is falling deeper and deeper into legal trouble as actress Janice Dickenson has now filed a defamation lawsuit against him. The lawsuit stems from Dickenson’s accusation stating that she suffered emotional distress because of Cosby. Dickenson’s lawyer has publically stated that the defamation lawsuit stems from Bill Cosby’s representatives accusing Dickenson of lying about an alleged rape she suffered at the hands of the now 77 year old actor/comedian.

Roger Federer French Open Betting Odds Jump After Draw

roger federer odds increase for french open 2015

The 2015 French Open betting odds have probably not seen this much action in a long time as long-time favorites have slid down and higher betting odds players are changing that. Andy Murray changed everything recently after winning two back to back clay titles and now his odds aren’t as lucrative as they’ve changed to 7/1.

Roger Federer had an extremely favorable draw for the Roland Garros as he’s got a pretty easy ride since the other three top opponents are lumped together to battle it out before the victor gets to him. This has jumped his betting odds from 15/1 to 11/1

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have all been placed in the same half of the draw but Federer has avoided the trio and appears to have a much easier route to the final.

The Swiss opens up against a qualifier and he could meet either the Czech Republic’s Tomas Berdych or Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals.

Djokovic remains the odds-on favourite at 3/4 and will meet Finland’s Jarkko Nieminen in the first round. Nadal, now 7/2, will play Frenchman Quentin Halys in the first round while Murray faces a qualifier and is9/1 to go all the way.

The British number one, seeded third, could meet either Djokovic or Nadal in the semi-finals with the pair possibly facing off as early as the last eight.

It represents a tough draw for Murray, who suffered a straight-sets defeat to Nadal in the French Open semi-finals last year and lost to Djokovic in the Australian Open final in January.

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios is the first seed Murray could face in round three before potential clashes with American John Isner in the last 16, and Spain’s David Ferrer in the quarter-finals.

In the women’s draw, 9/4 favourite Serena Williams plays a qualifier in the first round and the American could meet her sister Venus in the last 16 before a potential semi-final against Canada’s world number sixEugenie Bouchard.

Reigning champion Maria Sharapova is 17/4 to retain her title and will begin her defence against Estonia’sKaia Kanepi. She is in the same half of the draw as Romanian third seed Simona Halep.

Play at the second grand slam of the year begins in Paris on Sunday.

Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic In 2015 French Open Quarters?

rafael nadal vs novak djokovic french open 2015

Many people in the media are counting Rafael Nadal out already at the 2015 French Open as his tennis slump year continues and he slips further down the tennis rankings. The draw was chosen on Friday for the Roland Garros and Rafa could be facing world number one Novak Djokovic who he’s been avoiding on the courts of late. Stan Wawrinka shockingly knocked Nadal out of the Rome Open not allowing him to face the Serbian tennis player.

If Nadal does what he’s been doing late, he should easily make it to the quarter-finals in a match that everyone will be clamoring for tickets for. Djokovic has set his eyes on one of the few titles he hasn’t won yet, and this is a big one for him along with having a winning streak that is tied with Roger Federer.

It was the match that everyone was waiting to see: Who Nadal would face in the quarterfinals. The Spaniard, lacking his usual form in 2015, is 17-5 on clay this year and without a major title on the surface. Nadal is currently 66-1 at the clay court major championship.

Nadal will open against Frenchman Quentin Halys, then potentially gets Nicolas Almagro, the former world No. 9, in round two, No. 30 seed Adrian Mannarino in the third round and rising star Grigor Dimitrov, seeded 10th, in the fourth before he’s slated to face Djokovic.

The men’s draw served up plenty of drama before the tennis has even begun (the main draw starts Sunday), as Andy Murray, the No. 3 seed, is on the top half of the draw along with Djokovic and Nadal. Murray could face No. 7 seed David Ferrer in the quarterfinals should they both make it that far.

It was the match that everyone was waiting to see: Who Nadal would face in the quarterfinals. The Spaniard, lacking his usual form in 2015, is 17-5 on clay this year and without a major title on the surface.

Sixth seed Nadal will open against Frenchman Quentin Halys, then potentially gets Nicolas Almagro, the former world No.

Nadal, on the other hand, is seeking an unprecedented 10th title at Roland Garros. He’s 66-1 at the tournament in 10 appearances, and has won 35 consecutive matches here since 2010.

Third seed Andy Murray, who is in the same half of the draw as Djokovic and Nadal, plays a qualifier in the first round. The 2011 and 2014 semi-finalist has a 10-0 record on clay courts this year, including two ATP World Tour titles. He is in the same quarter of the draw as seventh seed and 2013 runner-up David Ferrer, who challenges Lukas Lacko, and ninth seed Marin Cilic.

Second seed Roger Federer, the 2009 champion (d. Soderling) who will be making his 62nd Grand Slam championship appearance, will play a qualifier in the first round. He could potentially meet Gael Monfils, the No. 13 seed, in the fourth round. The pair has met three times at Roland Garros (2008-09, ’11), but Monfils has won their past two clashes. Eighth seed Stan Wawrinka, who takes on Marsel Ilhan, could be a quarter-final opponent.

Fourth seed Tomas Berdych, who has reached the quarter-finals or better at every tournament he has contested in 2015, may need to beat No. 28 seedFabio Fognini and No. 14 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga prior to a quarter-final against fifth seed Kei Nishikori. Berdych faces a qualifier in his first match, while Nishikori will meet Paul-Henri-Mathieu. Feliciano Lopez, the No. 11 seed, may be a fourth round opponent for Nishikori.

Top American John Isner, the No. 16 seed, will open against Andreas Seppi, an Italian ranked No. 39 in the world. They are 1-1 head-to-head, Seppi winning their only meeting on clay in 2012. Isner, should he make it that far, could face Murray in the fourth round, the British No. 1 having a stellar year on clay, going 10-0 and winning two titles.

No American man got an easy draw on Friday, in fact. Jack Sock, who won his debut title on the ATP World Tour on red clay in Houston last month, has a tough ask in Dimitrov, while Tim Smyczek faces No. 15 seed Kevin Anderson and Steve Johnson gets No. 29 seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Seventeen-year-old Frances Tiafoe, making his Grand Slam debut, will meet world No. 35 Martin Klizan, the first player not to be seeded here. Donald Young meets dirt ballerSantiago Giraldo and Sam Querrey faces Borna Coric, an 18-year-old tapped as one of the stars to watch in men’s tennis.

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios, the No. 29 seed, will look to add to his Grand Slam shocker list, having beaten Nadal at Wimbledon last year and making the quarterfinals inMelbourne in January. The 20-year-old will face No. 3 seed Murray in the third round.

The men’s first round match to watch could be No. 25 seed Ivo Karlovic, the big server, up against the dynamic talent of Marcos Baghdatis.

It’s Memorial Day weekend, but that isn’t stopping Real Housewives of Atlanta NeNe Leakes’ sister from call out her crocodile tears and when you’ve got a huge family like those Christian Duggars, there’s bound to a bad apple in the bunch and Josh Duggar turned out to be the one.

NeNe Sister Calls Her Out About Breaking Down On the RHOA Reunion

It was too good to be true. NeNe Leaks actually giving a damn and showing some kind of emotion over some other than shade and gossip. On part three of the Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion, things got heated when Dr. Jeff was brought on stage. Somehow, the subject of NeNe’s mom and dad came up and she did a total 180, broke down crying and ran off the stage. Well, her estranged sister Kenya Sherman, is saying that it is all an act.

Sherman twitted during the reunion episode and was not shy about hiding what she thought of her sister’s display of fake emotion on screen.

“Dr Jeff she turn her back on her mom so these others don’t mean SHIT OK!!”

She apparently doesn’t like the fact that NeNe keeps telling the sob story about how her mother didn’t raise her. She further went on to retweet others who clearly were not fooled by NeNe’s antics.

“#RHOA Really Nene? Way to try to steal the show… now you’re an actress… playing the victim role. Not buying it… it’s fake.

I have to admit that when I saw it, I too was skeptical about it. She went from 0-100 real quick with it. In fact, a “celebrity bodyguard” who saw the whole thing go down on the reunion taping told The Real Mr. Housewives that Leaks pretty much “Scripted this with her ‘fake for TV Dr.’”

All I can say to this whole situation is why… just… why?

Kandi Burruss On NeNe’s Breakdown and Her Family’s Beef with Her Husband

Speaking about the Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion, Kandi Burruss spoke on why she didn’t console NeNe with the rest of the housewives during her reunion breakdown.

“Overall, Nene and I have been arguing that whole day and I am not the person that she would have wanted to console her. And secondly, if the shoe was on the other foot, she would not have come to console me.”

For the record, I agree with her. I felt like her actions were in line with how she felt and it’s more important to be true to that than to be fake and pretend you care for the cameras.

“If I got up to console Nene, I would be fake. So I just chose to be real with myself.”

She wasn’t the only one by the. Claudia did not get up either.

kandi burruss husband todd vs her family 2015 gossip

Now that RHOA season 7 is over, that does not mean Kandi’s life is drama free because there is still the issue of her family not getting along with her husband Todd Tucker. Always about her money, she is doing a special called Kandi’s Ski Trip (Don’t know why that is a two part special but whatever) where we see her family accusing Kandi of neglecting them after she got married to Todd.

She explains and finally takes up for her husband (kind of) that she stopped going around her family so much when they got married because they were mean to him and he didn’t feel comfortable going around them.

It is obvious that they feel he is a gold digger but the truth is if Kandi is happy with him, they should leave it alone, accept him and let it be. It is their place to love and support her and it doesn’t seem like they are.

Josh Duggar Admits to Molesting Young Girls

What do you say when a person who, after touting his righteousness and that of his family’s and has made millions from a wholesome, “Godly” persona, has been found to be a child molester? Well if you are Mike Huckabee and other brainwashed conservatives, you stand by him. But the rest of us normal, level headed, non-double standard having folks aren’t having it.

Josh Duggar, one of the children of the ridiculous and “holier than thou” family who have made a killing off the fact that they have 19 and use some kind of religious ideology to support it, came clean that 12 years ago he confessed to his parents wrongdoing that he committed. The 19 and Counting star released this statement:

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends…”

This is the thing that pisses me off. While Christian zealots like Huckabee and others rush to his side to show their support because “he’s sorry and has made amends for his sins,” these are the same damn people that will condemn a black person for their “wrongdoings” and not extend any kind of hand of restoration. Yes… I went there because it happens too fucking often.

Maybe because I grew up in an extremely religious organization and I have seen and known of people in leadership who confess one thing and make you feel guilty about small stuff but are hiding the fact that they molest little boys is why I feel a little too strongly about this situation. But the fact is, Josh Duggar does not deserve our sympathy. Whatever he loses as a result of this goes along with the territory of these kinds of situations…Plain and simple. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

Josh Duggar’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who are named in the police report, also spoke out Thursday.

“Back 12 years ago our family went through one of the most difficult times of our lives. When Josh was a young teenager, he made some very bad mistakes and we were shocked. We had tried to teach him right from wrong,” they said on Facebook.

“That dark and difficult time caused us to seek God like never before. Even though we would never choose to go through something so terrible, each one of our family members drew closer to God.”

The “19 Kids and Counting” series began in 2008 when the Duggar children numbered 17. It’s one of TLC’s top-rated programs, and the show was heavily featured during a presentation to advertisers last month.

It’s unclear whether or not the show will go forward. Last season’s premier of “19 Kids and Counting” was the highest-rated debut yet, according to TLC.

But some note that the network cancelled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” after a tabloid linked a character on the show to a convicted child molester.

TLC declined to comment on the Duggars’ statements Thursday.

Since retaining the Bundesliga title last month, Bayern Munich’s form has dropped to embarrassing levels. Pep Guardiola’s men have lost five games out of six in all competitions.

Bastian Schweinsteiger scores for bayern munch 2015

Bastian Schweinsteiger opened the scoring against Freiburg on Saturday. But the hosts came stronger and won 2 – 1. Mehmedi and Petersen netted one each in the victory over the Bavarian giants. The former Barcelona boss conceded that his team lacked the will to win.

“Congrats to Christian Streich and his squad,” Guardiola told reporters. “Freiburg showed the will to win this match, more than my squad.

“They are fighting relegation and this win was very important for them. For us, it was not easy. We conceded a late goal again, like in Barcelona.

“The matches after the win of the championship are not easy. One match against Mainz is left and then we will take a holiday.

“Congratulations to Freiburg because of this win. I hope they will stay in the league this year.”

freiburg beats bayern munich bundesliga 2015

With a win over the biggest team in Germany, Freiburg have reached the 14th position on the league table but they are still in danger of getting relegated. Three points on the last day of the Bundesliga against Hannover will ensure their safety. Bayern, on the other hand, will face Mainz in the final match of the season.

borussia dortmund vs werder bremen 2015 bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund will go head to head with Werder Bremen in their last fixture. Augsburg, who are only three points ahead of them and are much behind on goal difference, will face Borussia Monchengladbach. Monchengladbach are in great form and they are expected to beat Augsburg. A better result against Wolfsburg at the weekend could have guaranteed Dortmund a place in the Europa league.

“If I was sitting here with a point, I would feel around 800 percent better,” said Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp at the postmatch news conference following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg on Saturday.

Following the win over the 2013 Champions League finalists, Dieter Hecking said, “Today we were a little bit lucky. More than Dortmund.

“Our second goal was offside, so we were lucky. I think this was the difference today.”

“These are the moments that made the difference today. This is what you need,” the 50-year-old said. “In this season we have been more lucky than Borussia Dortmund and these situations were decided for our side.  But we should not forget, we reached the qualification for the Champions League last week…that was sensational. My players should be proud of that and we have to continue this performance in Cologne next week because our aim is to be runner-up.

“[Borussia] Monchengladbach are in the race too. But we want to reach this aim.

He added: “We had a bit more luck than Dortmund today. All in all it was a great match and we can look forward to the cup final.”

Wolfsburg are second in the league but their position on the table can also be challenged on the last day. The second place Monchengladbach are only two points behind them. Wolfsburg will travel to Cologne on Saturday.

The Premier Champions League never ceases to amaze every year and this season has been no different. We take a look at some of the winners and losers of the Champions League in this year’s road to Berlin.

Juventus

After the match fixing scandal and finishing 7th in Serie A, Juventus have come a long way from those dark days, having won their fourth straight league title recently.

However, there was something missing that really would put them on the world stage and that was performing in the Champions League. The last two seasons they were in it, they got knocked out in the quarterfinals and failed to reach the round of 16 respectively.

Max Allegri came in and after finishing second in their group this season, are now in the Champions League final.

While their path was relatively straight forward facing a struggling Dortmund side in the round of 16 and newcomers Monaco in the semifinals, Juventus performed admirably and did what many didn’t expect them to – knock the holders Real Madrid out via a 3-2 aggregate score and reach the finals for the first time since 2003.

They now await Barcelona.

Monaco

Having to cope with FFP, Monaco loaned out their biggest star, Radamel Falcao and sold James Rodriguez while not bringing anyone high profile of note in.

Despite this, Leonardo Jardim’s side have exceeded expectations in their return to the grand stage of Europe. Not only did they top their group featuring the likes of Zenit, Benfica and Leverkusen but they only conceded one goal in their six group games.

Coming up against Arsenal, many thought this would be the year the Gunners would finally reach the quarterfinals but Monaco surprised everyone but defending and countering well, eventually winning the tie 3-3 via the away goals rule thanks to an impressive 3-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Monaco’s journey ended against Juventus and only because of dubious penalty decision but they can be proud of what they’ve achieved this season.

Barcelona

After the disappointments of the last few seasons against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, Barcelona finally reached their first final in four years and they did it in style.

The trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez have simply been explosive with a combined 25 goals so far in the competition while Ivan Rakitic and Marc-Andre ter Stegen have also been inspired signings.

It’s hard to bet against the Catalans this year.

Losers

liverpool losers of premier champions league soccer 2015

Liverpool

After a great end to the 2013/2014 season, despite not winning the title, Liverpool exceeded expectations by finishing 2nd, let alone qualifying for the Champions League.

And while they sold Luis Suarez in the summer, given that they still had the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling as well as a lot of investment in the team, many expected them to at least finish second in a group which contained Real Madrid, FC Basel and Ludogorets.

Unfortunately, they failed to do even that as the Swiss side finished above them, putting Rodgers’ side into Europa League obscurity which is where they’ll be returning next season as well.

Real Madridreal madrid biggest losers of premier champions league soccer 2015

The reigning champions looked as commanding as ever in the competition until the group stage ended. While they beat Schalke comfortably in a 2-0 win at Germany in the round of 16, the return leg ended in a shocking 3-4 loss for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

It didn’t get any better as Los Blancos just about scraped a 1-0 aggregate win over derby rivals Atletico Madrid who had Arda Turan dubiously sent off in the quarterfinals.

Their luck wasn’t going to continue against Juventus as the Serie A champions not only exposed them but gave no space for Ronaldo to operate to his usual level. The absence of Pepe and Luka Modric was a blow but one still expected Madrid to go through before the tie had even started.
Their poor showings in the knockout round and eventual elimination in the semifinals confirmed a trophyless season and may just cost Ancelotti his job.
