Novak Djokovic Favorite to win 2015 ATP World Tour Finals

0

novak djokovic favorite to win 2015 atp world tour finals 2015 tennis imagesThe 2015 ATP World Tour Finals start on Sunday as the year-end event, which is exclusive to the Top 8 players on tour, will kick off from London. Unlike the huge majority of tour events, the finals are not presented in a straight elimination format. Instead, the eight contestants have been divided into two groups; they will play a round robin within those groups, and then the top four players will enter the semifinals. Let’s take a look at Group A, which is also known as the Stan Smith group.

In this group, we find Novak Djokovic, the current World No. 1 and favorite to win this year’s World Tour Finals. The Serb will be accompanied by Kei Nishikori, Roger Federer, and Tomas Berdych. Here’s the relevant head-to-heads for this group.

Djokovic vs. Nishikori: 4-2
Djokovic vs. Federer: 21-21
Djokovic vs. Berdych: 20-2

Djokovic compiled: 45-25

Nishikori vs. Federer: 2-3
Nishikori vs. Berdych: 3-1
Nishikori vs. Djokovic: 2-4

Nishikori compiled: 7-8

Berdych vs. Federer: 6-14
Berdych vs. Djokovic: 2-20
Berdych vs. Nishikori: 1-3

Berdych compiled: 9-37

Federer vs. Djokovic: 21-21
Federer vs. Nishikori: 3-2
Federer vs. Berdych: 14-6

Federer compiled: 38-29

Berdych is a player who has come on strong in the last little while. Uncharacteristically, he has won a couple of titles recently, and he has been troublesome to Federer at times over the years.

However, even with the recent titles, the Czech No. 1 has no convincing victories lately. Furthermore, he is 0-5 this season against players in his group. With such a terrible heads-up record against Djokovic, Berdych will need to bank on victories over both Nishikori and Federer to give himself a reasonable chance to advance.

Nishikori, when you look at head-to-heads, appears to be a dangerous player. A record of 7-8 suggests that he could win a match against his competition almost as easily as he could lose one.

However, Nishikori has not been at 100% in recent tournaments. He retired from his most recent match at the Paris Masters; he lost to Kevin Anderson in Shanghai, and Nishikori was not himself in Tokyo this season. There are no easy first-round matches at the World Tour Finals and, accordingly, Nishikori appears as though he will be very hard-pressed to win two of three matches – the benchmark to have a realistic chance of advancing.

Djokovic and Federer are the clear favorites to emerge in this group. Their head-to-head match may prove pivotal in determining who will go into elimination matches as the top seed. Conversely, the Nishikori vs. Berdych match may prove pivotal in deciding which of the underdogs has half of a chance of making it out of the round robin as well.

Play in this group starts on Sunday with Djokovic and Nishikori opening the event for singles. That will be followed at night by Nishikori and Federer.

With the format as it is, Djokovic and Federer could each crossover in the play-downs. That, in turn, could set up a Federer vs. Djokovic finale to the season in London.

19 – 0 Panthers Talk Begins with Don Shula

19 - 0 Panthers Talk Begins with Don Shula 2015 nfl imagesIt was just a matter of time before a member of the 1972 Miami Dolphins chimed in on the possibility of a 2015 NFL team running the table. It’s usually a bitter old man like Mercury Morris trying to hang on to a tidbit of fame that has something to say when a team gets close an undefeated regular season.

But this year we get to start the talk just after the midway point of the season. Most years the bitter old Dolphins of ’72 who went 17-0 including a Super Bowl win, like to root against another NFL team matching their feat of perfection.

However, Don Shula has come out and wished the best to the Carolina Panthers who are 8-0 currently.

Why the change in opinion from old man Shula? His son Mike is the offensive coordinator for Carolina so the Hall of Fame coach couldn’t help but wish the best for his kid.

At 8-0 it’s pretty early to be thinking about a perfect season. Just the thought of a perfect record usually wrecks the mindset of a team, and the likelihood only becomes real at about week 13.

Don Shula is jumping the gun quite a bit with so many weeks of football left to play. The Panthers do have a very favorable schedule left with teams like Dallas and Tennessee on the horizon. They also get to play my fast falling Falcons twice in December, which should result in two gift wrapped wins for Carolina.

Even though the road looks clear the next eight games for the Panthers, we all know how competitive the NFL is and how turnarounds can happen in the blink of an eye.

Atlanta could figure out what went wrong after their fast start and end up being an actual challenge. I can only hope.

Dallas will have Romo back soon so he could spark a resurgence along with Dez Bryant who looked great last week.

And all the hope in Carolina depends on Cam Newton being healthy. If he went down, they would be lucky to win more than one game the next eight weeks, no exaggeration. The manner in which Cam plays the game makes that possibility more likely than most pocket passers as well.

Just in case Carolina does make Don Shula proud by finishing the regular season undefeated, the postseason is where the challenge would really begin. There would be no easy matchups there. No Titans, no Bucs, no Redskins.

And if by some miracle they survived the playoffs and made it to the Super Bowl, that’s when the pressure would be compounded 100 fold. Not only would the team feel the hot spotlight of the most watched sporting event in the world, they would have to deal with constant questions about a perfect season.

No matter how confident or focused the Panthers would be at that point, perfection would get in their heads. They would be unable to block out the added dimension of making history by beating even the Dolphins’ record by two extra wins at 19 – 0.

I’m sure it would make Mr. Shula very proud for his son to be a part of something so special as an undefeated season. That possibility is very remote and week ten is way too soon to start the talk. I would imagine Mike Shula wished that his old man had never even commented.

When the Panthers do eventually lose their first game, there will may be a sense of disappointment from Don Shula because his kid’s team couldn’t match what the elder Shula’s ’72 team accomplished.

There will also be a giddy celebration among those remaining members of that Dolphins team. Even Don Shula won’t be able to hide his pride over another team failing to top what he did as a coach.

Bundesliga Week 12 Soccer Review

bundesliga week 12 soccer review 2015 images salomon kalouFormer Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou scored a hat-trick for Hertha Berlin to help them to a 3-1 win over Hannover and grab all three points in the process. The win moved the Berliners in the Champions League spot to fourth while their beaten opponents are lying 15th in the table.

Dominik Maroh grabbed a brace for 1. FC Koln to help them prevail 2-1 over Bayer Leverkusen. For Roger Schmidt’s side, former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Javier Hernandez grabbed the only goal. The defeat saw Bayer Leverkusen slip to eighth in the league table, whereas the Billy Goats are now seventh.

Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller were all on the scoresheet in the first 40 minutes against VfB Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena to help their side to a 4-0 win. The win keeps the Bavarian giants at the top of the standings with a tally of 34 points. Bayern Munich looks unstoppable in the Bundesliga and are odds on favourites to collect their fourth successive league title. They also hammered Arsenal 5-1 in the Champions League at home and it will take their opponents a lot to beat them.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s run of six successive wins was stopped at Borussia Park as they were held to a scoreless draw by newly promoted Ingolstadt. The Foals had lost their first five league games, which saw Lucien Favre leave his post as manager at the club. Under the stewardship of interim manager Andre Schubert, they are on a roll in the league and despite the draw they are lying in sixth.

Pablo De Blasis and Yunus Malli scored once each for Mainz against Wolfsburg to help them to a 2-0 win. The three points moved Mainz to ninth in the table while Wolfsburg; for whom summer signing Julian Draxler was sent off and has subsequently been banned for two matches for his infractions, are still in third.

Hoffenheim were held to a 0-0 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt at the Rhein-Neckar Arena. The solitary point gained from the encounter moved Huub Stevens’ men to 17th in the table, while Eintracht Frankfurt are 12th.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga put Hamburg ahead in the first half via a spot-kick, but Marcel Heller grabbed an equalising goal early in the second half to ensure that both teams shared a point each. Hamburg are in 11th.

Borussia Dortmund and Schalke played the first Revier derby of the season at the Signal Iduna Park. The match ended 3-2 win in favour of the Black and Yellows, for whom Shinji Kagawa, Matthias Ginter and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were on the scoresheet. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored both the goals for the Royal Blues. The win keeps Thomas Tuchel’s men hot on the heels of Bayern Munich with a tally of 29 points from their first 12 league games.

Former Bayern Munich forward Claudio Pizarro and Fin Bartels were on the scoresheet for Werder Bremen against Augsburg to help them to a 2-1 win over the side lying rock-bottom in the league table.

Mark Zuckerberg’s ‘Owe It To India’ Mission

0

mark zuckerberg owe it to india mission 2015 tech imagesWe Owe it to India

“If you really have a mission of connecting every person in the world, you can’t do that without helping to connect everyone in India… We take that very seriously… There are also about a billion people in India without Internet access, and that needs to change.”

Mark Zuckerberg

Despite being one of the countries at the forefront of Information Technology, a large percentage of India’s population still has no access to the internet. Now Facebook co-founder CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made it his mission to get that percentage connected to the internet. He considers it a moral obligation to have as many people in developing nations connected to the internet as possible. Is Mark Zuckerberg’s cries of ‘moral obligation’ just a marketing ploy for Facebook to expand into more countries?

“We all have a moral responsibility to look out for people who don’t have the Internet, and make sure that the rules that benefit us, don’t get twisted for people who don’t have a voice.”

— Mark Zuckerberg

Calling this goal of giving internet access to millions of poor people of developing nations such as India a ‘moral obligation’ has the makings of a massive PR stunt for Facebook and its partners. As CEO of a major Social Media and Information Technology company, Mark is going full steam ahead on promoting his company through this seemingly noble mission of bringing the internet to the poor. Internet.org is the platform that will make this goal possible by taking a chunk of the internet, downsizing it and putting it in one place to be accessed by places with very low bandwidths and devices with limited internet capability.

But to a large percentage of already connected people, this is simply Facebook’s intent on continued expansion to a large untapped user base. It’s a very strategic move on a business perspective where Facebook and Google are racing with each other to make it happen. To some people, it reeks of exploitation of the poor by big business. Give them a taste of the internet and they’ll want more, which is essentially the goal of Internet.org. If individuals and small businesses find the services and information within Internet.Org to be useful, they will then endeavor to invest on the real internet or convince their governments to give them real internet access. But that is business as usual. When there’s no more room to expand on the upper strata, you go lower and grab what you can from there. But hey, not-doing-so-well folks get to use Facebook on older devices and poor 3G connections.

Or maybe it’s the way around. That Mark Zuckerberg et al are really on a mission to give the internet to the poor. That they are sorry for India’s poor and those of other developing nations that they don’t experience the benefits of the internet such as access to information, better education, updated news and weather and better communications. That expansion is merely a positive by-product of such a venture.

If you base Mark’s real character to the way he’s portrayed in The Social Network, then he’s all for expansion. He wants to see if his move will stick and reap all the benefits later and not mind what others think. Aside from being an expansionistic goal, there’s the question of net neutrality. The goal of delivering information despite the limits of infrastructure is solved through Internet.Org but the information delivered is contrary to the principles of net neutrality. That not everyone can join or pitch in lite versions of their websites to the portal. That the stuff in Internet.Org are the things that will benefit Facebook and its partners the most. This issue of net neutrality further undermines Mark’s sincerity to the cause and his moral obligation to the poor. It’s arguable though that complete adherence to net neutrality may not be possible in some territories and that for a goal like Internet.Org to work requires adherence to a few rules or guidelines. Rules that may not apply to some websites.

But some benefit of a doubt needs to be given. Sincere or not, giving internet access to those without is better than nothing at all. Wikipedia is in there, which means better information for students; Accuweather, better weather info for farmers; Facts for life, better medical information; Messenger for free messaging more. After all, even poor people could use some of the internet which includes India, some places in Africa, Asia, and South Africa. The internet will get to them sooner or later. Making it sound obligatory though just doesn’t feel right.

Week 9 Results My 2015 Fantasy Football Blueprint: Watch Me Turn $100 into $0

Week 9 Results My 2015 Fantasy Football Blueprint

If you don’t learn anything from me in what was a horrific week nine outing on DraftKings, then there is no hope for you. All you have to do is pay attention to this week’s recap and you will know exactly how to jack up a lineup in head to head matches and how to finish about 90,000 places away from the top score in a GPP.

Don’t do what I do!

I didn’t get to play against some of the bigger sharks in the industry like CONDIA or Peter Jennings as they never accepted my invite for a H2H contest. Scared I guess.

I did line up three players that had a ton of contests open though so that meant they were very good and we’ll get to the results of shark on fish crime.

As you can tell I sucked it up in week nine. I will say in my defense that I had very little time to spend on my lineups this week. I did use Fantasy Labs as it was the last week I would be paying up for that premium service so I could write a review. It just didn’t work out this week.

If I had taken Marcus Mariota, who was the top rated player when I checked Fantasy Labs, maybe things would have worked better this week. Mariota got off against the Saints and was a real bargain on DraftKings. I went with Big Ben who had a decent game but left hurt in the fourth quarter. I feel like he should have stayed in the game….for me if not his teammates. I had a whole dollar on him after all.

Here’s a look at all my contests.

fantasy football blueprint 2015 movie tv tech geeksI wagered $10 and lost all but $1.80 of it. So I was negative $8.20 for week nine, not exactly the way to set up a DFS retirement plan.

I fell way back in the GPPs I entered after being in the money into Sunday afternoon. Things turned bad about Sunday night though and byMonday, someone else had my $8 I was supposed to win in those tourneys.

Here’s the lineup that yielded the highest score for me this week. Not enough!

As you can see the entire Bronco’s team let me down by losing to the Colts. The defense failed, and Ronnie Hillman would have had more fantasy points had he never left the team hotel. I think you get two fantasy points for not ordering porn on the hotel TV.hi score fantasy football blueprint 2015 movie tv tech geeksThe head to head matches went bad too. I knew that was coming once I decided to pick a fight with three sharks. Jpres429, TheZachAttack3000, leafs93, and cfthomason all whipped my ass. I thought that only three of those four users were DFS sharks but may have been wrong.

Either way I lost to each one and only beat adamlopez00 who has probably cancelled his DraftKings account by now and moved on to a sewing class. Sewing is something that I should consider as well since it’s becoming clear how unskilled I am at daily fantasy football.

Here’s the lineup that got me the sole win this week.

win h2h linup fantasy football blueprint 2015On a positive note, I did slaughter my opponent in my season long league on ESPN. I am now 7-2 and tied for the best record after nine grueling weeks in that league of fellow degenerates.

Before I set my lineups for next week, I will take a few steps to make sure the final week in my ten week DFS blueprint is a success.

  • Step one: Watch Pacino’s halftime speech in Any Given Sunday to set the tone.

  • Step two: Try to scrounge up $29.99 for PFF Fantasy Gold. I should be able to find it in my truck since it looks like a homeless person resides there now that I have devoted so much time to fantasy sports.

  • Step three: 20 minutes of meditation to clear my head of all the narratives of the week that could lead me away from cold hard stats.

So week nine will see me seek out five fresh fish for H2H contests that I actually have a chance at winning. Playing the sharks was a good idea as I thought it would be cool to beat multiple pros. Good plan, bad execution.

I will also go for five more GPP tournaments. Maybe something good will happen in one of those so that I will actually come out ahead for the ten weeks I have been entrenched in DraftKings heaven (or maybe it’s hell). Maybe even a few hundred thousand ahead.

If that happens, don’t worry. I’m going to keep working and covering fantasy sports. I’d eventually have to start back working anyway once I mismanaged the theoretical big money I won off of DraftKings.

NCAA Has LSU Investigating Leonard Fournette’s Family Business

ncaa has LSU Investigating Leonard Fournette's Family Business 2015 imagesUh oh! Here comes the NCAA to regulate another college football superstar. Leonard Fournette is being investigated by LSU to see if any NCAA rules were broken because of a website business started by his family back in 2014.

LSU is doing what most universities would do. They are trying to get out in front of any NCAA issues so they can minimize any punishments that would come from the school ignoring any violations.

The website was put together by Paul Price, who is Fournette’s family’s manager. That’s code for agent, allegedly. That’s cool by me, but the authorities over at the NCAA aren’t really down with that.

The website was set up to sell merchandise related to a catch phrase, ““BUGA Nation,” associated with the LSU tailback. Fournette’s mom says the site was shut down 24 hours after it was first launched at the start of the 2014 LSU football campaign.

Of course, the NCAA isn’t down with players selling anything with the player’s image or name on it. Basically, the NCAA believes they own the player and only the university, and the NCAA itself should be able to rake in the cash generated by these “student ATMs.”

We saw this last year with Georgia’s Todd Gurley getting suspended when he was paid to sign some autographs that were later sold on ebay. If a man doesn’t own his own signature then who does? Apparently UGA did, and they bowed down to the NCAA for fear of angering the football gods that make the ridiculous policies for college athletics.

It was a couple years back that Johnny Manziel was accused of making money off some autographs as well. His suspension was only a half of a game, but the theme is clear. Every single college superstar is under the microscope.

If there is money generated by a top ten player, it will be found out. And that player will be punished. It’s a disgusting reality, and now Leonard Fournette is going to be put under the hot lamps to see if his family made a few sheckles off his fame.

This trend is going to get worse. There is a TMZ type prick around every corner that is hoping get a little fame by catching a Todd Gurley, Johnny Football, or Leonard Fournette taking some cash improperly. I can even see some violent acts happening in the future because of some idiot trying to blackmail a player over improper benefits.

So what’s the answer here? All college superstars should follow the rules? Hell no! All college superstars should break the rules like this before Saturday. Make that every single player on every team.

Each player should accept a dollar bill for a signed t-shirt this weekend from fans as they enter the stadium just to show how ridiculous these NCAA rules are. Make the NCAA do something about it.

Suspend every man for a few games.

Wait that won’t work. Who’s going to suit up and perform for the millions who’re ready to watch some college football if all the players get suspended?

I’m an idealist and realize that kind of solidarity won’t happen across the nation. It could happen at LSU though. Why couldn’t every LSU player sell a piece of merchandise with his name on it to show support for Leonard Fournette? It would force the hand of the university. The school would have to stand up for players’ rights to sell their own merchandise or suspend every player they have, basically canceling the rest of the season.

I know that’s not happening either.

If I were advising Leonard Fournette though, I would simply tell him he doesn’t have to lay down to LSU or the NCAA.

I would tell him the truth. He is playing for free and is the best running back in college football.

I would tell him to simply walk away from college football if his university won’t support him against the NCAA. The NFL awaits with bags of cash, similar to the amounts that his coach Les Miles makes to eat grass and coach the team up.

Even if that means waiting until 2017 when Fournette is actually eligible for the NFL draft that’s still a better option than playing for free in a system that punishes players for basic principles of capitalism.

If Leonard Fournette ends up suspended like Gurley in 2014, he needs to extend the suspension to the rest of his college career and wait for the chance to play in the NFL. The pro league isn’t perfect by any stretch, but at least he will be able to participate in capitalism, a system that the NCAA thinks is bad for the athletes but great for everyone else involved in amateur sports.

Serie A Week 12 Soccer Review

0

serie a week 12 soccer review emanuele giaccherini 2015 imagesThe 12th week of Italian Serie A kicked off with Bologna registering a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona. Emanuele Giaccherini and Godfred Donsah grabbed the goals for Bologna. It was a second successive win in the league for Bologna and their upsurge in form has moved them out of the relegation zone. They are currently lying 16th in the league standings.

AC Milan were held to a scoreless draw by Atalanta at the San Siro. The draw halted the Rossoneri’s three-match winning run in the league, and a point from the encounter means that Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men are now sixth in the league table with a tally of 20 points from their first 12 league outings.

Geoffrey Kondogbia scored the only goal in the encounter between Inter Milan and Torino to help Roberto Mancini’s men grab all three points from the game. The three points scored from the match see the Nerazzurri on 27 points from their 12 games and puts them second behind Fiorentina in the league table.

Former Manchester City and Bosnia and Herzegovina international Edin Dzeko and ex-Arsenal forward Gervinho grabbed a goal each for AS Roma against Lazio to help them to a 2-0 win in the first Derby della Capitale of the season. The match saw the ultras of both the teams boycott the game in protest of proposed changes to the seating arrangements in the Olimpic Stadium. Roma are now occupying third place in the table, while their beaten rivals Lazio are ninth.

Mario Mandzukic, Patrice Evra and Paulo Dybala scored a goal each for Juventus as they won 3-1 against Empoli. The win moved the reigning Italian champions and 2015 Champions League finalists to seventh in the table as they continue their gradual rise up in the standings after a torrid start to their league season in what is the second year at the club for former AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri. Empoli, who was led by current Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri last term, are now occupying 13th spot.

Newly promoted Frosinone and Genoa played out a 2-2 draw at the Matusa on Sunday. Leonardo Blanchard and Mobido Diakite scored once each for Frosinone while Leonardo Pavoletti and Serge Gakpe were the scorers for Genoa.

Former AC Milan forward Alberto Gilardino grabbed the winning goal for Palermo against Chievo Verona in a match that finished 1-0 at the Renzo Barbera. For Sassuolo Nicola Sansone was on target against Carpi to help them to a 1-0 win. Sassuolo have continued their remarkable run in the league and are lying fifth in the table, while their vanquished opponents are left staring at relegation as they sit rock-bottom in 20th.

Gonzalo Higuain continued his remarkable goalscoring form for Napoli and helped them to a 1-0 win over Udinese. Sarri’s men are now lying in fourth in the league table with a tally of 25 points are just two points adrift of table-toppers Fiorentina.

La Viola won 2-0 against Sampdoria to move top of the standings on goal difference ahead of Inter Milan.

RHOC Brook Ayers Cancer Hoax & Gigi Hadid’s Victoria’s Secret Struggle

rhoc brook ayers cancer cancer hoax 2015 gossipReal Housewives of Orange County cast member Brook Ayers has been under fire for a couple of months now, regarding his claims that he is battling cancer. The show documented that numerous of the housewives believed Brook was lying.

On Tuesday, E! News released a statement from a hospital worker at City of Hope cancer center, who confirmed that Brook had never been treated at the facility. This is a contrast to an interview Brook did last week, where he showed documents that he had received treatment from City of Hope in California. Evidently, there were some fallacies in Brook’s story.

Today, Ayers finally broke his silence about the controversy. He told E! News, “words cannot express the deep regret that I have in fabricating documents to ‘prove’ to the world that I, in fact, have cancer. What I did was wrong and inexcusable. I acted alone, without Vicki [Gunvalson]’s knowledge, to produce documents for a reality TV show in hopes of putting doubts about my cancer to rest.”

Needless to say, many of the RHOC cast members were not surprised by the recent revelations. Housewife Tamra Judge commented on it to E!, saying, “I can’t say I am shocked, I’ve always said, ‘If he has cancer I hope he gets better and if he doesn’t…I still hope he gets better.’” Meghan King Edmonds also said, “I pray for him. I would want to tell him that I hope he finds the truth somewhere in his life. The truth will set you free.”

gigi hadid worked to get in victorias secret 2015 gossipEven for the it-model of the moment, Gigi Hadid, getting a spot in the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show took some work. On Tuesday, Gigi was seen strutting her stuff down the prestigious runway showing off two different looks. However, Gigi’s Mom, former model and Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster revealed that Gigi was turned down twice in the past by the lingerie brand.

While at the event, Yolanda explained her reaction to the video of Gigi landing the gig. She said, “I still get emotional thinking about it. I’ve seen it 100 times and every time I see it, I start crying because I know it is something that she wanted so much, and she worked so hard to get it. She’s only 20 years old. She tried out twice and didn’t get it and to get it the third time; it was just so special.”

Later in the night, Yolanda took to Instagram to share how proud she was of her daughter. Along with a picture of Gigi from the show, Yolanda captioned, “Hard work does pay off, and dreams do come true…#ProofIsInThePudding”

‘American Horror Story Hotel’ 506 Room 33’s Back

american horror story hotel 506 room 33 2015 imagesAmerican Horror Story: Hotel returned tonight with the 6th episode of the season, “Room 33.” While this episode wasn’t necessary the most thrilling, scary or goriest of the series, or season for that matter, it did manage to link some characters together and paint a more comprehensive picture of the AHS world.

The episode begins with a flashback to 1926. Here, we see Mrs. Johnson aka The Countess visiting the Murder House from season 1. She claims that she is three weeks pregnant (although it looks as if she is a lot further along than that) to Dr. Montgomery, owner of the house (who you may also recall from the first season). The doctor agrees to take care of The Countess’ “problem.”

The Doctor and his nurse perform the operation. However, the baby manages to survive the attempted abortion and ends up being some sort of demon child – murdering the nurse. The Doctor hands The Countess her new baby boy.

Back to present day, The Countess is busy hooking up with the new hotel owner, Will Drake. When Will can’t get himself aroused, The Countess calls in her other lover, Tristan Duffy. The Countess orders Duffy to get Drake, who is gay, aroused.

Detective John finds himself in a mess, as he follows his son Holden into the hotel’s coffin room. Here, he sees his wife Alex laying in one. However, Alex knocks John out and convinces him that he had a psychotic episode. John doesn’t fully believe it was all simply a hallucination, however when he makes his way back to the coffin room, it is empty (Liz Taylor cleared it out after Alex told him what happened).

Meanwhile, Iris, Ramona and Donovan are plotting their revenge against The Countess. Iris tries to track down all of the vampire children (as she plans to kill them to spite The Countess), while Donovan runs into the two tourists we saw in the first episode, Agnetha and Vendela. Donovan explains to the two women that they are trapped in the hotel forever. He tells them they must find a purpose – like terrorizing the guests – or else they will find themselves stuck “in an unbreakable chain.” At the same time, Ramona makes her way to Room 33, where The Countess’ baby boy Bartholomew is.

Ramona makes her way into the bedroom. However, it is clear that Bartholomew isn’t one to mess with – as he attacks her. Afterwards, Liz Taylor sees that room 33’s door was left open, and The Countess’ boy had gotten out. Later on, Liz bumps into Ramona, who has a scratch on her face from Bartholomew. Liz tells Ramona that he can’t have any “upsets” with The Countess, so Ramona must leave. He goes on to explain that he has fallen in love with Tristan and thinks The Countess will understand if she is in a good mood.

Afterwards, we see the two female tourists Agnetha and Vendela finding their “purpose.” They seduce an unsuspecting, young male hotel guest and end up murdering him by brutally stabbing him after sleeping with him. Alex Lowe ends up walking into the room and listens as the two girls explain they don’t feel their purpose is killing people. Alex tells them that they don’t necessarily have to kill their victims; they could just break their minds.

Meanwhile, Detective Lowe goes to another murder scene in a church. Lowe is adamant that this is another crime committed by the Ten Commandment Killer. However, his boss is angered as Detective Lowe was laid off the case and was not supposed to be intervening any further.

Upset and drunk, the Detective stumbles back to the hotel and runs into Liz Taylor. He confesses he loves his kids and wife, but he is bad at loving them. Liz tries to help him to his room, but John freaks out. Agnetha and Vendela confront John and seduce him. They proceed to have a threesome, but one of the girls scratches the other till she begins to bleed all over the bed, which freaks John out.

After John gets everyone to leave his room, he is visited by the late Mr. March. He welcomes him to the hotel, which sends John into a tirade. John packs up his things and hops in the shower. While he is showering off the blood, it is implied that The Countess’ evil baby jumped into John’s suitcase.

Back at home, John finds out that his daughter Scarlett hasn’t seen her mother in two days. Scarlett opens her dad’s suitcase and sees blood everywhere. John tells her it’s nothing.

Shortly after, John walks Scarlett to the TV room, and when he returns to his bedroom, he sees his suitcase torn apart. He takes out a gun and shoots presumably The Countess’ baby in the kitchen. Scarlett hears the gunshots and freaks out.

Back at the hotel, The Countess expresses her adoration to Will Drake. Soon after, she runs into Liz Taylor, who confesses he is in love with Tristan Duffy – one of The Countess’ “mild” lovers. The Countess shows understanding of Liz’s feelings and says they will talk to Duffy.

Alex returns home, where she talks with Detective Lowe’s boss, Andy. Andy tells her that he thinks her husband is unwell.

NFL Week 10 Fantasy Football Start & Sit: Cam Newton & Chris Johnson

nfl week 10 fantasy football start sit cam newton 2015 images

Week 10 is here, my friends, and—unless you live in New York in which case your all-mighty government has saved you from the devil that is one-day fantasy sports—it’s time to set those lineups!

By the way, if you do live in New York, when you sign up on DraftKings, just put that you live in Wyoming, and you’ll be fine. Hell, use a VPN if you need to. Fight the system! Check out what my fellow sports writer Shane McLendon had to say about this, and he’s always got plenty to say.

*Disclaimer: Movie TV Tech Geeks News and its affiliates do not condone breaking the law*

We won’t tattle, though, we promise. So here’s a little help with those lineups for Week 10:

Start: Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers—Newton is in MVP mode right now, and with 38 points last week against the Green Bay Packers, he’s got to be feeling himself. Even better, the Panthers play the Tennessee Titans this week in what could easily be Newton’s best game of the season.

Newton hasn’t been fantastic on the road, with only one score of at least 20, but the Titans are a great matchup for rushing quarterbacks. Newton has five touchdowns on the ground this season, and the Titans have given up two.

Not convincing enough? What if I told you the Titans gave up more than 20 points to Brian Hoyer in Week 8. BRIAN HOYER. So if you don’t play Newton, you’re basically saying Hoyer is better than him. Your move.

Bench: Chris Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals—The Seattle Seahawks haven’t played at home since their Week 6 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Jonathan Stewart had 78 yards and the only two touchdowns that running backs have been able to score on Seattle this season. Also, Bobby Wagner was out that game.

Outside of Stewart, no running back has been able to find the end zone or finish with 100 yards.

Don’t get me wrong, Johnson has really turned back the clock this season, but the Seahawks aren’t going to let that happen on their watch. Johnson will have to split carries with David Johnson and Andre Ellington, and it just isn’t a recipe for success. You may want to look for a better value back this weekend.

‘Empire’ Stumbles With 207 True Love Never Wins Recap

empire 207 true love never 2015 adam rodriguez imagesOn Empire this week, we plunge deeper into the drama that is the Lyon clan. Let me say here too that this has to be the most uneven episode in recent memory. From the storylines to the purpose of various scenes, a lot of the action and drama is forced, and you can feel it; But on to the recap.

Cookie and Alex talk about work after getting it on in her “king sized” bed. They have actually been there for three days eating and sexing. During one of their “breaks,” he shows her a flyer for a summer jam event he’s promoting and offers her a spot. She tells him no because her artists are not going to be little font names at the bottom of a list. From this, though, she gets the idea to do her own Lyon Dynasty summer jam and just like that, Alex is in even deeper.

Jamal makes new music but get’s “writer’s block.” He texts his mother for help with the song he’s working on and she tells him to “flip the perspective.” He does and of course now the track is fire.

While Cookie helps her son get his shit together, Alex leaves out to meet with one of his goons who is pissed that Alex has been MIA. He tells him to “lay off the kid” and assures him that they are going to get “ten times” what they want because of the ideas he’s putting into Cookie’s head. She is going to have to come to him for everything.

Speak of Hakeem, he has a showcase for his girl group. As they perform, it is clear that Carmen is coming for Laura as she pushes and cuts her off during the performance. Cookie tells her son to bump her up over Laura because Carmen has the star appeal. But Hakeem is determined to keep his crush up front.

He enlists the help of Tiana to show Laura how to stand out and be a diva so that she can keep the spotlight. Keem is feeling her and wants to make her a star. After their session, he takes Laura into a park and makes her sing. She winces but he pushes her. “Command their attention.” She warms up, and a crowd gathers around her.

Later at another rehearsal, this time Laura does not take Carmen’s shade and shows her who’s boss, causing Cookie to give her and Keem the thumbs up.

Lucious has a meeting with the board of Empire including Andre and Mimi. Stocks aren’t looking good, and investors aren’t happy. Mimi suggests partnering with another the streaming company Swift Stream, but Dre advises his dad against it. He doesn’t listen of course and sets up a meeting to make it happen. But before things can go through, there is an issue with one of the artists on the label, so Lu tasks his son with paying a visit to the deputy mayor, Raquel, his sometime lover.

Because of this, Dre has an emergency meeting with his reverend to help him decide what to do. For a second it sounds like he is telling him to sleep with the deputy mayor. He then explains to Dre that God chose him and that there are ways to get what you want and need without compromising his marriage.

Dre visits Raquel abut the gang injunction being removed for the artist, and she is glad to do so, for a price. As she puts her moves on him, he tells her he’s not doing that anymore which she does not want to hear. He then pulls out a video showing her doing something that freezes her in tracks. This is one of the scenes that was pretty confusing. Plus, I’m pretty sure blackmail is unchristian.

While out to dinner with Jamal to celebrate the hit they made, Cookie convinces him to come around the corner to Lyon Dynasty and lay some tracks. Even though it will piss his dad off, Jamal gladly does it. He has some issues getting the song the way Cookie wants, and as she tells him what to change, Hakeem walks into the studio. She runs to her son to distract him from Jamal leaving. No one can know she is in cahoots with the enemy.

Lucious and Mimi pay a visit to the owner of Swift Stream Jaygo, at a boxing gym. He invites him into the ring and things go okay until he says something that pisses Lu off and daddy Lyon knocks him out.

Later, Mimi and Lu pay Jaygo a visit in the hospital. From what I can gather, since this is another uneven plot twist, they put something in his IV drip that makes him agree to their terms. Lu hurries him on the phone to call his guy to draw up a contract.

Back at the studio, Cookie almost makes a deal without Hakeem. He comes in to negotiate since he has an equal stake in the Lyon Dynasty. He takes charge and gets the services on his terms. He later tells him mom to watch out for “pretty boy” (Alex) because he doesn’t trust him. Listen to your son Cookie.

In the end, Mimi and Lu “celebrate” Jaygo going into business with them; And by celebrate I mean having a threesome, with a girl they meet in the club. Then there is this really uneven scene where he grabs Mimi’s phone, as whoever she is talking to has her crying, and goes off on them. It’s a weird scene because he falls to his knees telling her she deserves better. They then return to their piece of candy but Lu freeze when he opens her legs and sees a tattoo of a gun on her thigh. This causes him to go into his “chamber,” get his gun, have a flashback about his mother playing Russian Roulette in front of her, call Freda to come into the studio and re-record their song.

This episode was all over the place and literally, shows how far Empire has fallen. But that’s just my two cents.

UPDATE: Vivica A. Fox and Lee Daniels have hinted that there be an Empire spin-off, but FOX and the production studio are swearing that they are focusing solely on this season and not looking that far ahead. You know what this means; if ratings continue dropping for the show, no spin-off, but if ratings steady up, a spin-off will be in the works. Hollywood hates it when people spill the beans before they can and Vivica spilled plenty of beans and tea on What What Happens Live.

Young Thug Future Metro Boomin Twit Beef & Amber’s Rosey Words

Tamar Braxton has to leave “Dancing With the Stars,” Young Thug Future & Metro Boomin get it twisted up in their Twitter beef. Amber Rose offers some words of wisdom to Time Magazine.

tamar braxton out of dancing with the stars 2015 gossipTamar Braxton Quits Dancing With the Stars

A lot of people were rooting for Tamar Braxton on Dancing with the Stars. She had been doing so well, but it all has come to an end thanks to a very serious medical condition. She posted a messages to her fans on her Facebook page this morning.

“After yesterday’s final #DWTS performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia, but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.’s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs)”

But choosing to the leave the show is not the only thing her doctor told her she needs to do.

“With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of ‪#‎dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem.”

It is a good thing that she is being smart about this because blood clots are no joke. And when you over exert yourself, it can have lasting effects on your body and health. I am sure Tamar will bounce back and be her old self in no time.

All this comes after she was hospitalized on Monday causing her to miss most of the live show. She showed up, however, in the last 20 minutes, danced her ass off and thus was not eliminated.

young thug future metro boomin twitter beef 2015 gossipNew Twitter Beef Between Young Thug, Future and Metro Boomin?

There is no secret that social media is the place for famous feuds to unfold. From Drake and Meek Mill to Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, the drama never seems to end. The latest case of beef looks to be between three rappers.

As the story goes, thanks to some “pro-future” tweets by Metro Boomin, Young Thug felt a certain kind of way about his applause for the rapper. According to hotnewhiphop.com and Rap-Up, the Metro “discouraged” other rappers from trying to “keep up” with the quality and rate of Future’s music.

“Everyday I wake up, new mixtapes are falling out of the sky… I think we all know where the trend came from lol… And for all you internet niggas who like to tweet like you know everything, I’m not saying he’s the first to do it… All I’m saying is… putting out five tapes in a year won’t make you heat up like Future. That was just his path. It’s not for everyone.”

Um, are we listening to the same songs Metro? That nonetheless, pissed Thug off, so he responded to Metro and dissed Future in the process.

“Hey @MetroBoomin who u referring to ???? Put some names on that shit lil boy @MetroBoomin… A nigga music couldn’t ever sound nowhere near mines…. ((IM MICHEAL)) he’s ((TITO))… It’s ok to ride a nigga dick, but don’t agitate another one lil nigga.”

Now being that we all know how Future rolls, of course, he was not going to let it slide. He tweeted,

“U will never have the juice like that.”

Thug sent out a series of Twitter posts after Future’s low key shade, and the mixtape loving rapper hasn’t responded since.

amber rose wisdom 2015 gossipAmber Rose Offers Words of Wisdom

Just because people say you are “nothing but a stripper” doesn’t mean you don’t know a thing or two about making money. In fact, you know a lot about it. Amber Rose is proving that despite the negativity of her early beginnings and even the drama she finds herself in now and then, she is perfectly fit to give advice on how to get money and wisely spend it.

Amber told Time Magazine,

“I feel like I’m in a position to give advice to women because I’ve made all of these mistakes.”

She goes on to tell how she stupidly spent all of her $1 million in 2011 and what she learned from that very big mistake.

“One of the biggest financial mistakes that I ever made was making a lot of money—I wanna say I made $1 million in 2011—and I spent all of it… And then after that, I had to pay taxes, and I did not have money for the taxes, and I was like, ‘I cannot believe I did this.”

She talks about her adventures in making money as well as a host of other things in her book How to Be a Bad Bitch.

“Being a dancer definitely was like being in business school.”

More power to Amber Rose. She is proving everyone that she is more than a big butt and a pretty face.
