The Fourth Phase' Teases Some Stunning 4K Documentary Footage 2015 imagesRed Bull Media House is collaborating with The Brain Farm to bring The Fourth Phase, a documentary film following iconic snowboarder Travis Rice. While the film has been in production since 2013, it has been kept tightly under wraps. However, the studios have finally released a trailer.

The Fourth Phase is meant to be a follow-up to 2011’s award-winning documentary, The Art of FLIGHT. Once again, audiences get an in-depth look, as Travis and several other notable snowboarders take on some of their biggest challenges yet.

In an interview, Travis explains, “It has taken everything I have learned over my life to prepare for what the past several years have challenged us with. Immersion into the winter wilderness with a few trusted comrades and a vow to not ride anything we have ever ridden before has made this the most exciting project yet. We have a team of some of the most committed riders and a production crew that has gone all in. We’re headed back into the field soon, but before we go dark again, we wanted to share a taste of what we’ve been working on.” Evidently, the team behind The Fourth Phase is still hard-at-work, as they push themselves to the limits for the project.

The film follows Travis, along with some of the most innovative riders in snowboarding, which include Mark Landvik, Mikkel Bang, Eric Jackson, Pat Moore, and Bryan Iguchi. Together the athletes explore the slopes over multiple seasons and take on some of the most remote locations ever ridden.the fourth phase teases some stunning documentary footage 2015 imagesScott Bradfield, Head of Production and Development for Red Bull Media House recounts the previous success they had with their collaboration for The Art of FLIGHT. He says, “We redefined the action sports film genre and dramatically expanded the audience with “The Art of FLIGHT. Working with a team that can reach the world’s most daunting environments, combined with Travis’ vision and a highly cinematic narrative; we hope to raise the bar again with our biggest feature film to date.”

By teaming up with production company The Brain Farm, Red Bull Media House is ensuring that they pull out all of the stops when it comes to the visuals for the film. The film uses the latest in camera technology, as they capture all of the action and stunts in 4K ultra high-definition. In addition, they are giving the movie the ultimate Dolby treatment so the sound quality can also help deliver a captivating cinematic experience to the audience. Curt Morgan, CEO of Brain Farm and co-director of The Fourth Phase, explains, “Making this film has been one of the most challenging, yet gratifying experiences in my life. Our team has pushed deep into the backcountry with new technology in hopes to capture snowboarding in a way it has never been seen before. From the adventure to the outstanding athleticism, to the very real story that unfolds this film will undoubtedly be unique.”

The first teaser for the film begins with Travis Rice lying on the icy ground, spread out with his eyes shut. The narrative then begins, as it tells the story and cycle of snow as it goes through the glaciers to the vast ocean and then evaporates into the air. It goes on to state, “this process we follow, this cycle we ride.”

After this, the teaser cuts away to various shots of the snowy mountaintops. It also shows Rice and his fellow snowboarders embarking on huge journeys, as they ascend through treacherous conditions, in order to push their own boundaries and comfort levels.

With the help of boats, helicopters, snowmobiles, trucks and multiple other modes of transportation, Rice, and his crew find themselves in the most isolated and visually incredible places on Earth.

Towards the end, the trailer gives a peek at some of the mind-boggling stunts the snowboarders attempt. As they send themselves flipping off of huge cliffs, they’re talent visually rivals the captivating environment around them.

While this may be a film for a niche market, it is one that is filled with visuals and most likely a story that can be enjoyed by all. By using the latest technologies in filming and production, The Fourth Kind brings audiences to places that few humans ever get a chance to go.

The film is still being finalized and will be released globally on October 2, 2016.

‘The Wiz’ Review 2015

the wiz review 2015 imagesThere are so many reasons why NBC’s live version of The Wiz worked as well as it did. From the vibrant colors to the acting to the story, it was nostalgia of the best kind.

First let me start off by saying that The Wiz succeeded because black people support black people. I know that we get a bad rep sometimes about not giving credit where it’s due, in particular to our own, but there is no denying the talent and production we saw in The Wiz.

But this is not a black and white thing. It is, however, the perfect example of what happens when you take a great story, great actors, a lot of energy and put it all together. All of that coupled with the hard work and preparation was a recipe for success.

If you are wondering if it is worth seeing, the answer to that is a resounding yes. I know a lot of times things don’t translate well onto the small screen, but this just works because it goes back to it’s roots- the original stage play from 1974.

As far as the actors that played each character, I am not going to say that they were the ideal or perfect match (well some of them) but I am going to say that it worked. From Amber Riley’s Addaperle the Good Witch of the North to Elijah Kelley’s Scarecrow, you can feel the connection of the characters and that is what draws you in.

With that, I do want to talk about Shanice Williams. The 19-year-old New Jersey native has definitely made a major splash onto the Hollywood scene. But if I am honest here, I wasn’t that impressed with her as Dorothy. Don’t get me wrong, she is a cutie and had a lot of energy, I just wasn’t totally convinced. Even with the spunk and attitude she brought, I don’t feel like she fully owned the role.

Other notable roles are Kelley’s take as the Scarecrow. He has a palpable energy he brings to the table, and his singing is out of this world. He is great as the creature with no brain as he captures the physical essence of the role. David Allen Greer as the Cowardly Lion is a hoot and he actually pulls off the singing quite well. Or rather well enough that he doesn’t sound horrible. He is funny, he is charming and able to keep up with the rest of the crew and for that, he get’s an A in my book. Mary J does a great job as the Wicked Witch of the West. She takes on the role, and it is clear that she put her all into the role.

Uzo Aduba as Glinda is refreshing. Not just because she is full of grace, but because of things like she wore a natural hairstyle and not the golden wig we saw in the promotional pictures. And her singing isn’t bad either. She is so sweet and gentle which means she nailed the role. I love that we get to see the depth and versatility of her acting ability.

Now for the character I didn’t care that much for- The Wiz. It is more so Queen Latifah‘s interpretation of him. I just didn’t like her in the role. I mean as The Wiz she was okay but as herself, she was boring. It was like seeing her act for the first time. I know that she is a better actress as she came off cheesy.

Other than that criticism, the Wiz was an enjoyable ride. Along with the cast doing their part to make the live show a success, I have to mention the casting of the supporting actors as well. I LOVE the fact that they weren’t all cookie cutter types that don’t represent reality. There were thick girls, not so trim boys, some queens and black people of various complexions. Some people may ask what’s the big deal with that, but you have to understand that most of the time, all we see on TV are skinny, big booty “yellow bone passengers” and those types of black folks are just a segment of the black community.

The fans and those who watched The Wiz are just as much responsible for its widespread appeal as the people playing the parts. We wanted it to win, and it did… big time.

Top 10 Sexiest Female Celebrity Santas for 2015 Holiday Season

top 10 sexiest female celebrity santas 2015 holiday season imagesIt is mere weeks from Christmas. I know it seems like the 2014 version of the holiday season was just a few months ago, but rest assured “it” has arrived again.

Time to panic!

Enjoying the Christmas holiday is not as easy as it once was. As a kid you could hardly wait for the big day when your parents would spend more money than they should have just so you could have the latest gadget or cool toy.

And back in the day Christmas was a relaxing time when friends and family could get together to enjoy each other’s company. Now it seems like Christmas get togethers involve running from house to house to make sure every relative is visited even though that means everyone is in a rush and ends up in a bad mood.

Let’s take a step back for just a moment. Let us forget about the credit card bills that will hit us in the grill come January. Let us ignore the stress from eating a Honey Baked Ham at our step sister’s madhouse of a home.

Instead we should focus on the positives of Christmas. Now, I’m not talking about eggnog and stories by the fire. I know you all are gonna be hitting the Bud Light cans and warming yourselves with the electric thermostat set at 72 degrees.

I want to focus on one of the best parts of Christmas.

Sexy Santa suits. What else?

Here are the hottest celebrity ladies I could find that took the time to dress up like old St. Nick. Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

sexy female santas gisele tom brady 201510. Tom Brady lives a truly charmed life. He wins Super Bowls in amazing fashion and will likely be POTUS at some point in the future if he so chooses. And he gets to come home to this…even on the holidays.

sexy female santas victorias secret 20159. This Victoria’s Secret model could have easily made the #1 spot. But since she is not a nationally known celebrity she fell to #9. No shame in that. She just needs to follow the path of Beyonce or Pam Anderson and grab some attention for herself. Congrats, whatever your name may be.

sexy female santas beyonce destinys child 20158. Remember Destiny’s Child? I do, if only vaguely. Of course Beyonce came out of that group to rule the world of Pop. As you can see from the picture, the trio ain’t bad. Beyonce was certainly the centerpiece though.

sexy female santas katy perry 20157. Katy Perry can make any costume look good. Yes, even the ridiculous ensemble she sported at last year’s Super Bowl. When she isn’t selling out concert events or making the guys on College Gameday a nervous wreck, she has no problem making Christmas miracles happen like below.

sexy female santas pamela anderson 20156. Pamela Anderson was one of the hottest women ever. She may not be what she used to be, but time takes a toll on us all. She was not the most gifted actress ever, but she was very gifted with other talents that sometimes ended up on video.

sexy female santas mariah carey5. What can you say about Mariah Carey? The lady seems ageless, has one of the best voices in history, and is the very definition of buxom. I looked it up and found the pic below.

sexy female santas mean girls lindsay lohan 20154. Sure Lindsay Lohan is currently a trainwreck, but not at the time that Mean Girls came out. This group photo of Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert (good Lawd!), and Amanda Seyfried sets the standard for multiple Ms. Clauses.

sexy female santas barbara pelvin 20153. Know who Barbara Palvin is? Neither did I until just now. Glad to meet her! A little more name recognition and she would have been at least number two on the list.

sexy female santas kate upton 20152. Not a full Santa Claus suit? Who cares. It’s Kate Upton and her two best friends.

sexy female santas tyra banks 2015Tyra Banks. Top 10 historically when it comes to pure beauty. She could be wearing a Santa suit or a burlap sack. The resulting drool from guys would be about the same. She tops the list for 2015 even though she is on the backside of a great modeling career.

There you have it folks. Feel free to disagree or simply applaud my efforts. It’s not easy to research hot celebrities wearing Santa suits. It’s been a painstaking process that may take me a few days from which to recover.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

What the NSA Should Have Been

0

what the nsa should have been 2015 tech imagesThe National Security Administration shouldn’t have been the massive data-collecting snoop it is today. It’s supposed to be a well-oiled agency actively scanning communications of perceived external threats, and not passively and indiscriminately collecting data from the citizenry and very slowly looking for domestic threats or trace back any attack after the fact. Several reports have stated that the agency should have detected many red flags before high-profile terrorist attacks such as 9/11 and Boston occurred but didn’t; because they’re drowning in the huge amount of the data they collected. More data than they’d know what to do with. The NSA could have been better if they didn’t trade security for money according to other NSA whistleblowers.

“[Trailblazer] was the largest failure in NSA history… Fundamentally they traded your security — mine, and everybody else’s — for money. It’s that simple.”

— William Binney, former NSA technical director

Yes, it wasn’t just Edward Snowden. There were others. In fact, these guys came before him. These guys inspired him. One of them was William Binney, former NSA technical director who quit because the project he was spearheading, project Thinthread was junked in favor of a more expensive and more intrusive system called Project Trailblazer. The Trailblazer program is what apparently would get more funds from Congress as we see in a lot of movies; it’s all about the funding. Binney out of principle as he very much believed that Thinthread was a more efficient, less expensive and less intrusive way to scan for any threats. Instead, the NSA took up the Pokemon craze. Gotta catch ‘em all. Information that is.

Thinthread was developed by Binney and fellow whistleblowers Ed Loomis and Kirk Wiebe. Instead of collecting metadata as well as content from everyone, Thinthread uses metadata of phone calls and email, combined with geolocation matches up the data taken from people on the government watch list. The system allegedly paints a clearer picture of who was communicating with whom, when and where and with little expense compared to current NSA programs. Trailblazer itself was discontinued after a few years. Binney goes far as to claim that Thinthread could have prevented 9/11 as many post-9/11 documentaries suggested if the government just looked a little closer.

“It cost $3.2 million to build it from scratch… And it was fully automated, and it didn’t require people to run it. It was electronically downloadable… it wouldn’t take any money to deploy it.”

–William Binney

With the threat of ISIS looming on the horizon and its mass data collection put on hold, the NSA now has more time to sift through all the data they’ve collected. As previously suggested, they’ve missed a lot but with careful search into that mountain of data they might still catch part of a long-term terrorist plot in the works.

“That’s why they couldn’t stop the Boston bombing, or the Paris shootings, because the data was all there… the NSA is great at going back over it forensically for years to see what they were doing before that… But that doesn’t stop it.”

–Binney

The NSA would also need a new approach to information gathering as the US, and other countries have become more sensitive to privacy. It was said in a show on the History Channel a few years ago that the NSA collects over 21 terabytes of data per day composed of metadata, email, and voice calls. The sheer cost of the hardware needed to collect all of it and to store all that data to is staggering. The time and manpower needed to sift through that data even more so. It’s basically the situation faced by a friend, in charge of the company CCTV when his boss’ car was vandalized while parked for a week in a corner of the company parking lot. The CCTV collected videos all day but was not actively monitored. A large scratch was noticed on the car’s paint job when his boss decided to take the car out. The scratch could have been put there anytime within that one week period, made by some employee with an axe to grind. The guy in charge of the CCTV had to scan a week’s worth of footage before he found the perpetrator on the sixth day. The job took two days including all his other duties.

Speaking of axes to grind, Binney and company, said they didn’t quit because the government rejected their system. Their departure wasn’t out of sour grapes but because they believed that billions of tax dollars didn’t need to be wasted on systems that intruded on the privacy of the United States’ own citizens. They also didn’t want anything to do with the leadership whose corruption put money first over the safety and security of the United States. They left jaded after 9/11 thinking they could have done something to prevent it.

Now, with fewer options, the NSA might do well in giving Thinthread a try. Update it and modernize it for the new millennium then maybe, everyone will be able to sleep at night without worrying whether their NEST thermostat is spying on them or if someone armed with a pressure cooker is going to blow them up.

NFL Officiating Approaching Replacement-Referee Level Low this Season

0

NFL Officiating Approaching Replacement 2015 imagesIt’s easy to blame the refs. Tom Brady does it after literally every loss. But sometimes even sore losers like Tom have a point.

NFL officiating crews have had more of an impact on the outcome of games this season than any other time in recent memory.

There are way too many examples from this season, unfortunately. The first big controversy this season was the illegal ball batted out the back of the end zone at the end of the Detroit Lions at Seattle Seahawks Monday Night Football Game in Week 4. Things have only gotten worse in recent weeks, however, with at least one issue in each of the past three weeks.

In Week 10, the NFL admitted that the official screw up the end of the game and the Baltimore Ravens should have defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Week 11 saw an erroneous whistle which resulted when the ref “lost track of the football” and prevented Danny Amendola from taking a short pass all the way with nothing but green in front of him. The New England Patriots can’t complain much though because the game ended on another poor call.

At the end of the game, Sammy Watkins caught a pass and fell backward out of bounds without being touched. The zebra nearest him kept the clock running because he forgot he wasn’t officiating a college matchup.

I’m sorry, what? How do you accidently apply a college football rule as an NFL referee?

Week 12 also held more than its fair share of blown calls. Tennessee Titans interim head coach Mike Mularkey complained on Monday that the defensive holding call on B.W. Webb, which kept the Oakland Raiders game-winning drive alive, was an overall “poorly officiated play.”

“The play never should have started,” said Mularkey. “It should have been fourth-and-13.”

Mularkey pointed out a false start by Michael Crabtree on the play, offensive pass interference by tight end Andre Holmes, and the lack of contact between Webb and Amari Cooper. The NFL apologized for the call, but that doesn’t give the Titans a win.

As if that weren’t enough, the officials in Monday Night’s matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers were so outrageously bad that the crew has actually been demoted from next week’s Sunday Night matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers.

No, the Sunday Night matchup up between the Patriots and Denver Broncos does not make this list. There were just as many calls in the Pats favor as there were “bad” calls against them. Brady just has to find something or someone to blame for every loss.

Regardless of Brady’s typical complaints, the overall shift towards replacement-refs-from-hell style needs to be halted and reversed. Now.

The problem is, it’s not just one thing. It starts with slowing the turnover. 23 new refs have joined the herd over the past two seasons—that means nearly 20 percent of the refs in the league today have less than two full years of experience in the pros. Maybe that’s why they confused the rules with those of the college game.

NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino certainly hasn’t helped the matter either. Roger Goodell absolutely touted Blandino when he appointed him back in 2013, but clearly putting someone with no on-field officiating experience in charge of all NFL officials wasn’t the best idea. Whatever your opinion on the matter, league-wide errors appear to be on the rise.

Blandino’s biggest failure seems to be the NFL centralized command center introduced last season.

“The goal of the system is to apply a consistent standard in terms of making these decisions,” said Blandino. “Anytime we can centralize that and have a small group of people manages that process; I think we’re going to be more consistent.”

Oh, really? Then what’s a catch? When is it pass interference? It’s different in every game, every week.

It may be a good idea on paper, but I think nine out of ten fans would agree that the command center has been an absolute flop through its first two years in the league.

I’m not saying Blandino should be fired, but I’m also not saying he deserves to keep his job after this year. All I know is if things continue the way they’re heading, Goodell has failed the sport of football once again with this hire.

Kim Kardashian’s ‘Blank’ Robert West Baby Boy & One Direction Gets Emotional

Kim Kardashians Blank Robert West Baby Boy 2015 gossipThe Kardashian family continues to expand, as Kim Kardashian gave birth to her second child with husband Kanye West. On Saturday morning, Kim revealed on her website and app that she gave birth to her baby boy.

Although the baby was set to arrive on Christmas day, many are not surprised about his early arrival. Kim delivered her first baby, daughter North, six weeks early after a difficult pregnancy.

A source close to Kim reveals to E News! “the last few days were very stressful…it was time.” Over the past while, Kim has opened up about her struggles with being pregnant, including a health scare that had her getting tested for gestational diabetes. Fortunately, Kim tested negative for the condition, but she did have numerous other issues throughout her second pregnancy.

It has been reported that Kanye, Kourtney, Khloe and Kris were all there for Kim as she gave birth.  While there, several of the family members also took the time to visit Lamar Odom, who is in the hospital recovering from a serious drug overdose.

Fortunately, just a few days ago Kim announced that she had opted to undergo a procedure to get her soon-to-be son flipped around, as it was in breech position. She explained, “This weekend I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called ECV, which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position.” Adding, “[the procedure] was probably more painful than childbirth.”

Nonetheless, it seems that the pain and obstacles she endured over the past few months was worth it, as she was able to welcome a healthy baby boy to the world.

While the baby’s name has not been announced, some outlets are reporting that they have chosen to give him the middle name Robert, after Kim’s late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.

one directions emotional last gig 2015 jingle ball gossipOn Friday night, the boys of One Direction graced the stage at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball. Here, the four band members got emotional as they performed their last US concert before they head on their planned hiatus.

Liam explained the significance of their performance that night to the crowd, saying, “to be honest with you, this show is kind of an important one for us. This is going to be the last time for a little while. I feel myself getting a little emotional.”

While the boys are preparing their fans for their break, they are putting effort into assuring them that they will be back onstage in the future. Towards the end of their performance Liam also exclaimed, “we will see you very soon.”

Afterwards, in an interview with 102.7 KIISFM’s Jojo Wright, the boys discussed the significance of their iHeartRadio show. Liam admitted he hadn’t even processed that they wouldn’t be performing in America again until after their hiatus. He confessed, “I hadn’t even thought about that. Now I’m sad. But it’s not our last show ever. That’s the important thing the people need to get. This is our little crescendo.”

Niall added in, “It’s not a bad way to go out…Jingle Ball you know?”

Speaking of Niall, after the concert on Friday night the young singer was spotted packing on the PDA with fellow entertainer Selena Gomez while attending Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s 35th birthday party. Sources claim that the two were seen dancing, kissing and hugging throughout the night at Bootsy Bellows in Los Angeles.

While it looked like Justin Bieber was pulling out all the stops to win Selena back, it appears Gomez has chosen to move on from their rocky relationship.

Terrelle Pryor Is Mike Pettine’s Security Blanket For Johnny Manziel

0

terrelle pryor is mike pettines security blanket for johnny manzielMike Pettine to Use Terrelle Pryor as Security Blanket to Prevent Johnny Manziel from Playing

The Cleveland Browns may be 2-9 right now and only a few weeks away from earning the first overall pick and firing everyone associated with the organization, but for some people *cough* Mike Pettine *cough* being right is much more important than winning or being logical.

I won’t lay into the Browns head coach too much since we’ll only have to deal with him for a few more weeks, but with Josh McCown out for the rest of the season, quarterback Austin Davis was named starter over Johnny Manziel despite continuous calls from the fan base (and from common sense based on Manziel’s performances this season).

It didn’t stop there—the Browns went out and signed washed-up former Ohio State star Terrelle Pryor. The 3rd round supplemental draft pick by the Oakland Raiders back in 2011 hasn’t been on a regular season roster since the Raiders came to their senses in 2013. Pryor is extremely athletic, no one will take that away from him, but he simply wasn’t successful as an NFL quarterback.

The Browns initial plan seems to use Pryor as a wide receiver, but if anything happens to Davis, Pryor will more than likely be under center.

“Terrelle looks like he’s in great shape,” said offensive coordinator John DeFilippo. “You would never know he wasn’t in an NFL building working out and running and practicing.”

As Pryor’s quarterback coach in Oakland, DeFilippo should know exactly why he hasn’t been in an NFL building…

“At this time of the year, a lot of the guys that have been here that have been playing ball, he has fresh legs, so he looks a little bit faster than those guys.”

The Browns face the 9-2 Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, and if Pryor plays, he will be expected to give his best Josh Gordon impersonation. And, if anything happens to Davis, Pryor could very well be the quarterback for the Browns until the end of the season.

Is it possible for a 2-9 team to finish 0-16? Because the Browns are trying to find out.

Aaron Hernandez Shanks His Way To Segregation

aaron hernandez shanks way to segregation unit 2015 nfl images

Aaron Hernandez is proving to be just as difficult whether he’s behind bars or not. The former New England Patriots tight end has been involved in multiple fights, possible gang-related activity and now it appears that he was working his way up the ladder of prison disobedience. The troubled former football star has reportedly been moved to a segregation unit after a prison-made knife, often referred to as a shiv or a shank, was found in his cell Thursday.

Hernandez is serving a life sentence at a maximum-security prison in Massachusetts after being convicted of the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who was said to have been dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend. The ex-Patriot is also awaiting trial for a double murder that occurred in 2012. This trial is scheduled to begin in early January.

According to Boston TV station WHDH, prison officers found the knife while doing a shakedown of Hernandez’s cell block. He was reportedly moved out of general population and into the segregation unit, which houses inmates thought to be a danger to others or in danger themselves.

Hernandez was involved in a violent incident at that facility in May, when he was alleged to served as a lookout during a fight between inmates with gang ties. According to CNN, he was also in a 2013 brawl at the jailhouse where he awaited trial in the Lloyd case. All three of the inmates were disciplined, and Hernandez was put into a special managed section of the prison.

And in 2014, Hernandez was indicted in an alleged jail assault in which he and an inmate being transported from an infirmary at the Bristol County House of Correction in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, allegedly exchanged words. Hernandez allegedly punched the inmate and knocked him to the ground. Neither was injured.

The 26-year-old Hernandez played three seasons with the Patriots, who drafted him in 2010, the same year the team took Rob Gronkowski. New England released Hernandez, who had been an all-American at Florida, within two hours of his arrest on the Lloyd murder charges.

Massimiliano Allegri plays down rumors linking him to Manchester United

0

Massimiliano Allegri plays down rumors linking him to Manchester United 2015 imagesMassimiliano Allegri dismissed the rumors linking with a move to Old Trafford and stated that he is completely focused on his job in Turin.

The 48-year-old led Juventus to two major silverwares last season and also guided them to the Champions League final against Barcelona in Berlin. But the Serie A champions haven’t had a perfect start to the 2015/16 campaign and are currently fifth in the league table, with seven points distance from the league leaders Napoli.

“I’m focused on objectives, which is more important than rumours,” he said. “I have a contract here until 2017, and I am very happy to coach Juventus.

“I remain fully focused on achieving the very important targets that we have here.”

“Next month it will be the January [transfer window] and you will be moving players [not managers] from one place to another – we are just thinking about what we have to do this year.”

Louis van Gaal’s job at Manchester United is under threat as the fans aren’t content with the style of play the Dutch manager is implementing at the club. Despite United’s results and position in the Premier League, they are being branded as boring. It is believed that the Manchester hierarchy are looking for a suitable replacement for Van Gaal.

Juventus face Lazio on Friday and the former Milan manager is convinced that it will be a tough fixture to grind all three points.

“It will be a complicated and difficult match,” Allegri added ahead of Friday’s clash with Lazio.

“Against Empoli, they did not deserve to lose the game and against Palermo they played well, so it’s going to be tough.

“They are out for revenge because of Shanghai and the Coppa Italia, while we can’t afford a slip-up in the league because of the situation we’re in.”

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Latest Trailer Brings Doomsday

0

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Latest Trailer Brings Doomsday 2015 imagesYet another superhero movie debuted its trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! This week actor Ben Affleck stopped by Kimmel’s show to premiere the newest official trailer for his upcoming movie, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Jimmy enlisted his security guard sidekick Guillermo to shine the bat signal into the air over Hollywood Boulevard, and sure enough Ben Affleck (aka Batman) appeared amongst the studio audience. Jimmy and Ben played up a funny little skit before introducing the action-packed trailer. Much of the Internet noticed that Ben looked a lot more put together than he has in the past while (as he announced his divorce from ex-wife Jennifer Garner over the summer). It looks like he is beginning to put his game face on, as he enters the final stretch of promotion before the film is released in theatres.

Batman v. Superman marks Ben’s first attempt at portraying the iconic hero. When the movie is released in 2016, it will be four years since the last Batman movie hit theatres (Dark Night Rises). The past few movies have starred actor Christian Bale, therefore many fans have been critical of the casting of Affleck. Nonetheless, Affleck has proven himself a capable actor in recent projects such as Argo and Gone Girl, so hopefully he will be able to win the diehard fans over as he embodies Bruce Wayne.

The premise of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is that the people of the world have mixed feelings towards Superman. After the events that occurred in the Man of Steel, some people are singing his praises and labeling him a hero, while others are hesitant and perceive him as an incredibly dangerous threat. Batman, who witnessed Superman’s climatic battle with General Zod and the destruction associated with it, is part of that latter group and doesn’t trust Superman. Therefore, Batman decides to do whatever it takes to stop Superman from doing any more damage. Unfortunately, this leads to trouble when an even greater threat arises.

Once again, actor Henry Cavill will be reprising his role as Clark Kent, aka Superman. In the upcoming film, Superman will be continuing to try and find his place on Earth, while dealing with the consequences of his detrimental actions in Man of Steel (where he wound up destroying a good chunk of Metropolis and its citizens).

Meanwhile, Batman is expected to return to the screen with a bit of a different attitude than previous films. Director Zack Snyder recently revealed that Ben would be portraying the hero as, “tired and weary and seasoned.” In addition, the film will dive into how Batman was deeply affected by the destruction of Metropolis and subsequently, his strong desire to seek revenge.

The trailer begins with showing Bruce Wayne entering a prestigious event, where journalist Clark Kent interviews him for The Daily Planet. From the get-go, you can feel the tension between the two characters as they exchange criticism about each other’s home city heroes (i.e. each other).

Soon after, we are introduced to Jesse Eisenberg’s version of sly super villain, Lex Luthor. “Bruce Wayne meets Clark Kent,” he exclaims as he awkwardly positions himself into their conversation. Jesse’s quirky portrayal definitely brings a new twist to the character.

Afterwards, the trailer goes heavily into visual effects as we see Batman and Superman using all of their powers to try and defeat one another. The teaser ends off with a glimpse of the big threat that will ultimately cause Batman and Superman (and Wonder Woman, play4ed by Gal Gadot) to work together, Doomsday.

Unfortunately for Warner Brothers, the trailer did not garner as much hype as the previous teaser. In addition, it also did not fair as well as its competitor, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. While some speculate that this is simply because it’s the third trailer that they have released for the film, others claim that the trailer was disappointing.

While the fact that Superman and Batman hash things over at some point in the film isn’t all too surprising, it definitely should not have been revealed in the trailer. Since the previous marketing was focused on the big battle between the two forces (Batman v. Superman), it doesn’t make sense for them to spoil it all. Many fans took to Twitter to advise others to skip this last trailer, as it could potentially detract from their viewing experience when the film is actually released.

Fan, Twitter post:

Overall, Batman v. Superman is undoubtedly going to be a must-see action movie, but it looks like the studios went a little overboard trying to sustain the hype surrounding it. In doing so, they upset some of the people who matter most when it comes to making money at the box office. Ultimately, I suggest you skip this last trailer but go see the movie!

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.

Packers Eddie Lacy Is Blowing It

Packers Eddie Lacy is Blowing It 2015 images nflThe Green Bay Packers could use the services of former boxing trainer Angelo Dundee right now; God rest his soul. Dundee sparked his fighter Sugar Ray Leonard to a win in a fight that he was about to lose when he uttered the words, “You’re blowing it, kid.”

Dundee is not around anymore, so Green Bay needs to find someone to light a fire under Eddie Lacy’s fat ass. The kid is blowing it.

Lacy has regressed in this his third NFL season, after gaining over 1,000 yards in each of his first two years in the League. The guy has been banged up and to the outside observing smart ass like myself, it’s easy to say the man is out of shape. It sure looks that way in high def.

But there is more to the story. Lacy was barely part of the game plan on Thursday night when the Pack came back from twenty down to get a big win in Detroit. He didn’t start and only carried the ball five times for four measly yards.

Lacy was left out in the cold after missing curfew on Wednesday night along with fellow running back Alonzo Harris.

Harris’ punishment was more severe as he was cut. In the real world, that means fired. And that’s where Lacy is headed. He needs someone to get in his ear Angelo Dundee style and tell the 25-year-old that he is expendable. Running backs are a dime a dozen.

Back to back 1,000-yard seasons were nice, but not Adrian Peterson-like.  There are guys waiting in the wings to take over. Lacy’s curfew-busting buddy was replaced by a practice squad guy who is probably elated to have the opportunity to be on the real roster.

Lacy is not above being replaced. If he believes otherwise, he can just look at another former great Alabama tailback to see how fast an NFL career can end. Trent Richardson blew each chance he got in the League and lost the best-paying job he will ever have.

I always say that running back is the worst job in the NFL, but if you like getting big paychecks, you might want to put all you have into the job. If not you will wind up on a broke athletes documentary eventually.

I know it’s easy to sit back and criticize Eddie Lacy when in the regular workplace there are guys and gals who underperform every day. There are accountants who just coast through each work week in order to get that check. I see city workers just standing around waiting for the five o’clock whistle each day so they can go home and forget about their miserable jobs for a few hours.

Look around your own workplace. It’s easy to spot the unmotivated folks. If you can’t spot them, you’re the unmotivated slacker that needs to be cut from the office team.

Working at a job you’re not thrilled about sucks. But we all have to produce income to stay alive. Most of us will never come close to Lacy’s yearly salary of $848,000. And many of us would kill for such a salary. But there’s no doubt some of us would become unmotivated even as an NFL running back making huge money.

It’s human nature to relax and coast once you feel comfortable. Some positions allow a level of comfort. The city workers I mentioned don’t have to worry about being fired for laziness. Their supervisors are usually even more slothful and never bother to check to see if the workers are getting anything done.

The unproductive accountants can sometimes hide in a large company where it’s hard to notice just one worker falling off the pace.

In the NFL, a quarterback can get paid for over a decade just by being a serviceable backup. There are just so few guys that can be trusted to run an NFL offense without wrecking a season when the starter goes down. See the Romo situation this year.

As for running backs, this is not a position for the lazy or unmotivated. A dime a dozen. Just too many hungry guys willing to run head first into 300-pound linemen for their shot at a million dollar contract. If Eddie Lacy isn’t interested in playing football anymore, then that’s cool. He can just walk away.

What he can’t do is just coast by on what he did his first two years as a Packer. He has to produce, or he’ll be cut. Stats don’t lie, and NFL teams are funny about tracking the production of guys they are paying nearly a million dollars a year.

Another team would take a chance on him were he ever cut, but the word would be out and the leash short. Ask Trent Richardson, who could be working at a car wash eventually.

Hopefully, Lacy can pull himself up by his bootstraps back to the player he was in 2013 and 2014. Most likely he needs someone to get in his face to tell him just how badly he is screwing up. Maybe he doesn’t even care at this point. But the kid needs to be told he is, in fact, blowing it.

Fantasy Football Quarterbacks to Avoid in Week 13: Russell Wilson & Philip Rivers

Fantasy Football Quarterbacks to Avoid in Week 13 russell wilson 2015 imagesFor most teams, the quarterback can make or break you every week. For example, Drew Brees broke me last week, but anyone with Russell Wilson was singing a different tune. Luke McCown did well against the Carolina Panthers so that Brees will get the benefit of the doubt, but Russell Wilson is on the sit list for this week. Here’s a little help on who NOT to play in Week 13:

Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks: I know he’s done well for you the last two weeks with 31 against the San Francisco 49ers and 44 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it’s time to sell high.

The Minnesota Vikings defense is much better than both of those teams, and although they’ve allowed over 20 points to quarterbacks a few times this season, no one has ever managed more than 23. On top of that, only four quarterbacks managed more than one passing touchdown against the Vikings. Minnesota has also been consistently good at containing QBs this season with only Colin Kaepernick managing more than 20 rushing yards.

Wilson’s numbers historically drop off pretty significantly on the road, and in fantasy he has only put up more than 17 points on the road in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers. If you’re in a two-QB league, maybe you could justify starting Wilson, but it’s probably safest to avoid him.

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers: It took the Jacksonville Jaguars to pull Rivers out of his slump, so just use your imagination for this week’s matchup with the Denver Broncos top-rated defense. As if that weren’t bad enough, Rivers only managed 11 points at home last season against the Broncos back when their defense was still atrocious under Jack Del Rio.

Andrew Luck and Tom Brady are the only two quarterbacks to score more than 17 points against the Broncos, and that’s only because neither of them runs the ball. Rivers will have Melvin Gordon taking a few carries, so 20 points is a long shot.

Bottom line, I don’t trust Philip Rivers against good defenses, especially with the best pass rush in the NFL. Play him at your own risk.
