Top 5 Most Overrated College Basketball Players 2014-2015

most overrated college basketball players

There are a number of college basketball players across the country that are deserving of mention as the best in the land. There are some with accolades that might not be so well deserved. Here’s a look at five players that have yet to live up to their billing.

cliff alexander most overrated college basketball players 2014

Cliff Alexander, Kansas

Along with Jahlil Okafor who now plays at Duke, Alexander was one of the top recruits in the nation last season out of Chicago. At 6-8, Alexander is athletic, can score, rebound, and was considered the perfect replacement for Andrew Wiggins, the Jayhawks star a year ago who left after one season for the NBA. While he is just a freshman, Alexander has yet to live up to the hype that followed him to Kansas. He plays just over 18 minutes a game and averages 8.2 points and 5.4 rebounds. While the potential is there for Alexander to be one of the best players in the nation, it hasn’t shown this year.

karl anthony towns most overrated college basketball players 2014

Karl-Anthony Towns, Kentucky

Year after year, Kentucky head coach John Calipari routinely brings in the best freshman classes in the country. This year is no different. One of the super freshman is 6-11 Karl-Anthony Towns from New Jersey. Towns was regarded as the top prospect in the United States coming out of high school. Currently, Towns averages 8.7 points per game and 6.9 rebounds, not eye-popping numbers. Yes, Calipari does use a platoon system that limits the minutes that Towns plays, but one would think that Towns could do much more in his 20-plus minutes per game.

georges niang most overrated college basketball players 2014

Georges Niang, Iowa State

He is 6-8 and 230 pounds, powerful, and can score. He averaged 16.7 points a game last year and was a big reason why the Cyclones advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament last year. Niang broke a bone in his foot in the tourney last year but has returned. Maybe the injury has slowed him some or maybe it is just the quality of the rest of his team. Niang does lead the team in scoring with 14.9 points a game, but his performance down the stretch will determine if his inclusion on this list was correct. The Cyclones are 12-3 so far with a loss to No. 22 Baylor. Niang played horribly in the 74-72 loss shooting just 4-of-13. If Iowa State is to have shot at a Big 12 title, Niang will have to play like the hype says he should.

olivier hanlan most overrated college basketball players 2014

Olivier Hanlan, Boston College

There was talk prior to the season that Hanlan would have the kind of year that would win him the ACC Player of the Year. Midway through the season, the Eagles 8-8 and haven’t won a game in conference play. Maybe you cannot fault Hanlan for Boston College’s poor play, but the 6-4 junior guard’s performance has dropped off from a year ago. As a sophomore, Hanlan averaged 18.5 points a game. This season, he still leads the Eagles in scoring averaging 16.4 per game, but he is shooting just 26 percent from three-point range and only 66 percent from the free throw line. Elite players just don’t do that.

kelly oubre jr most overrated college basketball players 2014

Kelly Oubre, Kansas

I know, I know. How can one school have two of the most overrated players in the nation? Easy. When you’re Kansas and year after year bring in the top talent in the country, that talent is expected to produce. Kelly Oubre, who in all likelihood will be a top 15 pick in this year’s NBA draft, was a five-star recruit out of high school. Like Alexander if Oubre stays at Kansas, he will likely be one of the premier players in the country. Right now…he doesn’t even play 18 minutes a game and averages just 7.9 points and 4.3 rebounds. Maybe he would score more if played more and he is just a freshman, but an overrated one as it stands right now.

10 Worst Football Injuries

10 worst football injuries ever

My love of football does not blind me to the violent nature of the game. Over the years I have seen my fair share of bad injuries. That is unfortunately part of the game. It would be nice if every player could escape each game unscathed. But that is a fantasy. Big fast guys running directly into each other repeatedly is a recipe for disaster and it shows up on the injury report. Here are ten of the worst injuries in football that I have come across.

willis mcgahee worst football injuries ever 2015

  1. Willis McGahee got his knee bent in an abnormal fashion in a National Title Game when he was balling for the “U”. His gruesome injury may have kept him from being the pro player he could have been, but he ended up with a decent NFL career anyway.

marcus lattimore knee injury worst football in history 2015

  1. Marcus Lattimore was a promising NFL prospect at running back, maybe the best in the country at one point. He got his knee twisted basically backwards in a college game that paid him zero dollars. Just another point for paying college athletes.

ed mccaffrey leg break worst football injuries ever 2015

  1. Ed McCaffrey was a good receiver for the Broncos back in the days of Elway glory. He unfortunately jacked his leg up to the tune of a compound fracture on Monday Night Football in 2001.

tim krumrie leg worst football injury ever 2015

  1. Tim Krumrie’s leg got jacked in the biggest of games. A Super Bowl stage is a bad place to get hurt like this man did. As if there is a good place to have your leg snapped.

napoleon mccallum leg worst football injury ever 2015

  1. Napoleon McCallum was a super fast back for the Raiders until he suffered one of the worst leg injuries not involving a train. His Monday Night Football injury ended his football career.

joe theisman bone pop out worst football injury ever 2015

  1. Joe Theismann was so injured by bloodthirsty sackmaster Lawrence Taylor, that medical help was summoned by the Hall Of Fame LT himself.

dennis byrd paralyzed worst football injury ever 2015

  1. Dennis Byrd was temporarily paralyzed by the game he loved. He was able to walk again but football was no more a possibility for him. This is a serious game folks, lest we forget.

darryl stingley worst football injury ever 2015

  1. Darryl Stingley was headed to the top of the receiver ranks in the NFL when a vicious hit left him paralyzed for the remainder of his life. It is amazing that more injuries like this one have not happened.

junior seau brain worst football injury ever 2015

  1. Junior Seau was a great linebacker that had severe depression after the game of football was over for him. See #1 on the list to see the same fate Seau would suffer.

dave duerson worst football injury ever 2015

  1. Dave Duerson was a hell of a football player and a standout among the best of the best. He was a big part of the best defense of all time, the ’85 Bears. This man killed himself with a shotgun to the chest so that his brain would be intact for medical study per his written request. The findings were that Duerson had brain damage consistent with CTE. He knew something was wrong and couldn’t fix himself. He impacted many with the way he tragically ended his life and wanted others to find out what happened to his mind as a result of a long football career.

10 Things That Bother Me Most About College Football

college football bothers me 2015

I love college football, just like most Americans. The school pride, the competition, and the excitement of the games is hard to rival. I have spent more than my fair share of Saturdays watching these games for eight or more hours. That is not something I am too proud of now that I think about it! But I do love the game itself. There are however a few things that bother me about college football. I hate to complain about a great sport, but here go.

college football marching bands bothersome 2015

  1. Marching bands are a waste of time. They are outdated, sort of like parades.
  1. I love conference title games. However, good teams get punished for losing that last game of the year more than an early season loss. And teams have to sometimes face an opponent that they have already defeated in the regular season.
  1. Some teams get by on their historic reputation. I don’t want to name names….OK I really do. Notre Dame and Ohio St play no one and get all kinds of love in the polls.

marc may espn big tool football

  1. Mark May of ESPN. I don’t need to elaborate. Just watch him.

ncaa boycott logo season 2014 images

  1. The NCAA itself. The governing body of college football is so bloated and unnecessary that it is pitiful.
  1. Players should get paid. If the game is so pure, why do coaches and college presidents make millions?
  1. So many games, so few great announcers. I love the plentiful games, but the broadcasters are not top of the line on each matchup.
  1. Polls to decide who plays for championships is so ridiculous it amazes me that they are still used.
  1. I hate the term “student athlete”. 95% of college football players are there to play ball. Class is the last thing on their agenda.
  1. Showing the same people in the crowd over and over. We get it. The star linebacker’s dad is in the crowd. He is a former NFL star. We saw him the first 14 times.

Celebrity Gossip Roundup: Naya Rivera’s Douche, Chris Brown Revoked & Nick Cannon Free

celebrity gossip round up scott disick katy perry

This week’s celebrity gossip news begins with rumors that everybody’s favorite train wreck, Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s Scott Disick is reportedly drinking and smoking weed again after having previously attended rehab to address this very issue. Scott reportedly crashed with friends at Aspen, Colorado’s Hotel Jerome and ordered over $1400 worth of liquor within the span of 48 hours. A friend of Scott’s allegedly even swiped a bottle of liquor worth $400 before the group had even been checked into the hotel for 24 hours. As if that wasn’t enough to get Scott and his friends in hot water, other hotel guests also reported that when walking past the room the group was occupying they detected an overwhelmingly strong scent of weed,

Another of this week’s celebrity train wrecks is, once again, Chris Brown. At a recent court appearance, his probation was revoked by a Los Angeles judge. The reason for this is reportedly that recently Chris was present at a nightclub when five shootings took place in one night. The court is currently looking into whether or not Chris played any part whatsoever in the nightclub shooting. He is scheduled to appear in court again in March.

In the long time coming divorce of Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, Cannon has filed the necessary paperwork following Mariah Carey’s failure to attend rehearsals for the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting 2014, which was blindingly obvious during her much talked about performance. As recently as two months before that Cannon had done an interview with Meredith Vieira in which he stated that he and Mariah Carey were still “doing all the things together that we’re supposed to do together.”

Mariah Carey is moving on from the impending divorce by agreeing to perform a regular show at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. On a recent appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show Carey stated that her number #1 hits were her inspiration behind agreeing to a Las Vegas residency, which means her show at Caesar’s Palace will be ongoing. It is rumored that the reason Mariah Carey is stepping in to do her residency is that Celine Dion had been the one with a residency at Caesar’s Palace until she had to take time off to care for her ailing husband. Mariah Carey taking the place of Celine Dion could last as long as a year.

naya rivera calls justin bieber douche bag images 2015

Proving that cattiness isn’t just directed towards women, by women, Glee star Naya Rivera recently co-hosted The View and talked about what a douchebag she thinks Justin Bieber is. Her comments stemmed from a recent Instagram photo showing Justin Bieber in nothing but a towel after the teen heartthrob came under fire by those who were convinced the Calvin Klein ads he has appeared in are photoshopped to make him look more buff than he really is. Rivera also bashed Bieber for constantly looking in the mirror and said that girls don’t want to date guys that do that.

lady gaga at gym

Though Lady Gaga may be wonderfully bizarre, she is at least focused on keeping fit. While many stars of her caliber party all night and loaf all day (Lindsay Lohan instantly comes to mind,) after a recent night of drinking whiskey, the next day Lady Gaga headed straight to the gym to work it off. Her exercise of choice is Bikram Yoga, which may be as weird as she is, but keeps her social drinking from catching up with her.  It turns out Lady Gaga also regularly stays focused on (believe it or not) benefitting from her friendship with the legendary Tony Bennett.

taylor swift sends fan care package images

In one actual heartwarming piece of gossip that proves not all celebrities are self -absorbed, Taylor Swift recently made the news for sending one of her biggest fans a care package full of personal items, along with a check for a whopping $1,989, which Taylor gave her fan in order to help the young woman pay off her student loans.

usher gay engaged to grace miguel images

Usher recently became engaged to his business partner and long term girlfriend, Grace Miguel. However, the couple has kept details of their engagement very hush hush. Usher even went so far as to give Miguel an engagement ring that not many people would believe is actually an engagement ring. There has been no speculation as to why the couple is keeping so quiet about their engagement.

nick jonas wants to marry demi lovato images 2015

Romantic news for the couple in question, it might break the heart of Nick Jonas’s many fans that he has recently publically stated in a radio interview that he would be very willing and happy to marry ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato because she is the one ex he would prefer to spend his life with over all the others.

john mayer katy perry back together again

In more romantic news, on-again off-again couple John Mayer and Katy Perry is apparently on again, after having previously broke up in February of last year. The couple was recently spotted at a Beverly Hills dinner party together and has reportedly been inseparable since that party. A source stated that even when the couple was apart they were still friendly with each other and still speaking to each other on a regular basis. The source also said that since John and Katy have gotten back together they have been spending as much time together as possible.

britney spears ex john sundahl killed 2015

Tragic news came to Britney Spears today as she learned a man she dated for five months in 2007 has passed away. The man, John Sundahl, was in Alcoholics Anonymous with Spears in 2007 and reportedly helped her get clean. Sundahl was killed in Kabul, Afghanistan, when the Taliban shot down the helicopter he was flying in. The two had reportedly remained friends after their five month relationship ended. In the wake of his death it is not known if Spears will release a statement addressing this tragedy. Even non Britney Spears fans are likely to feel her pain over the loss of her friend and one time romantic partner, especially since he had helped her recover.

Top 5 Most Underrated College Football Players

most underrated college football players 2015

There were several players during the 2014 college football season that became household names by its end. Fans surely recognize names like Mariota and Winston, but what about those who had outstanding years but did not gain the kind of notoriety they deserved? Well, here are the five most underrated players of the 2014 college football season.

tevin coleman most underrated college football players 2015

Tevin Coleman, RB Indiana

At 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, Coleman is a sprinter in a running back’s body. Blessed with great speed and the opportunity to play in the up-tempo spread offense of head coach Kevin Wilson at Indiana, Coleman set a school record when he rushed for 2,036 yards this season. He averaged 7.5 yards a carry and scored 15 touchdowns for a Hoosier team that went just 5-7. For his efforts, Coleman was selected as a unanimous All-American and was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, which went to fellow Big Ten running back Melvin Gordon of Wisconsin.

alvin bud dupree most underrated college football player 2015

Alvin Dupree, DE Kentucky

Easily one of the best college football players that no one has heard of, Dupree is a likely first round draft pick in the upcoming 2015 NFL Draft. At 6-4, 267, Dupree possesses all the tools of a great pass-rushing defensive end. While Kentucky is more known for its basketball squad, Dupree did his best to help the Wildcats turn the corner in the SEC. He finished the season with 7.5 sacks and 74 total tackles. He was the lone bright spot in an otherwise poor defense that was one of the reasons why Kentucky lost its last six games in a row.

taylor kelly kentucky most underrated college football players 2015

Taylor Kelly, QB Arizona State

Playing in the Pac-12, Kelly gets overshadowed by the likes of Oregon’s Marcus Mariota and Brett Hundley of UCLA. Even though he missed three games due to injury, Kelly was one of the keys to a brilliant Sun Devils season. Kelly finished the year with a 145.7 quarterback rating after throwing for 2,114 yards and 22 TDs. He threw just five interceptions in the 10 games that he played and was masterful in the Sun Devils’ thrashing of Notre Dame. Kelly completed 17-of-28 passes for 224 yards and three TDs as Arizona State beat the Irish, 55-31.

cody kessler usc most underrated college football players 2015

Cody Kessler, QB USC

If you think Kelly get overshadowed, try being Cody Kessler. Who? Exactly. The USC quarterback had a remarkable junior season completing 315-of-452 passes for 3,826 yards and 39 touchdowns. The Trojans finished 8-4 with three of the four losses to teams ranked 19th or higher. Kessler led USC to wins over then No. 10 Arizona, then No. 13 Stanford, and a 49-14 drubbing of rival Notre Dame. In the Irish victory, Kessler threw for 372 yards and six touchdowns. He will return for his senior season along with some of the best young talent in the nation making the Trojans one of the teams to watch in 2015.

drew hare most underrated college football players 2015

Drew Hare, QB Northern Illinois

Hare is another in a long line of Northern Illinois dual-threat quarterbacks. After Chandler Harnish and Jordan Lynch ran the show for the better part of a decade, Hare emerged as the starter this, his sophomore, season. He showed flashes of what is to come the next two years throwing for 2,322 yards and 18 touchdowns. Hare also was the team’s second-leading rusher with 900 yards on the ground and another eight TDs. He guided the Huskies to yet another MAC championship and an 11-3 overall record.

Will Windows 10 Make Windows 8 Haters Happy?

0

Windows 8 in itself is a good operating system. The core system is faster, more robust, and more secure and has less resource requirements than its predecessors, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Its new, fresh takes on the user interface has done two significant things in the computer industry. First, it popularized hybrid computer systems because of its new tablet-centric touch interface where laptops can become tablets and tablets can become laptops.

Not that it’s a new concept but Windows 8 made it more mainstream. Second, is that it polarized consumer preferences for operating systems, again, because of its new tablet-centric touch interface. Practically, more or less half of Windows users made it no secret that they dislike the interface. Older users are reluctant to let go of their Windows 7s and even Windows XP while others have gone on to purchase Macs and Chromebooks.

Microsoft, at first adamant of its interface changes has made several compromises through Windows 8.1. It’s like Windows 3.0 all over again with 3.1 and 3.11 being the better versions. But not even Windows 8.1 can stem the exodus of once faithful users or the reluctance of business migrations to the new Windows version. Windows 10 is just around the corner. There is no Windows 9.

Like in Star Trek, Microsoft is counting on this new even-numbered version to be a hit among consumers but unlike Star Trek, the previous even-number backfired. And unlike Star Trek, Microsoft has no rhyme nor reason to its version names and numbers. Again Windows 10 is just around the corner. The previews are already here and it looks promising. The Windows faithful are keeping their fingers crossed and Microsoft hopes to bring back its previous user base.

Question is, what does Windows 10 have to offer? What features and innovations have earned it the privilege to skip one whole version? What can we expect from Windows 10 and will it make Windows 8 haters happy? The answers are listed below.

windows 10 start menu images 2015

The Return of the Start Menu – What Windows 8 haters hated the most was probably the loss of the all-familiar Start Menu which was present since Windows 95. What replaced it was a colorful tiled version of the ‘iconic’ desktop present in Windows 3.0 which seemingly had no central point of reference to locate all Windows programs. The Start Menu pointed users to practically everything in the Windows System while the new tiled Start Screen seemed all over the place or all over the screen. The tiled Start Screen also gave Windows 8 a schizophrenic reputation.

When the Start button is pressed on the keyboard to summon the Start Screen, users are unceremoniously taken away from the desktop with the mistaken impression that their work might be lost. While some Windows users know better, those users do not share Microsoft’s view of aesthetics and find the Start Screen to be ugly. Now, Windows 10 has brought back the Start menu slightly improved and includes a smaller view of frequently used tiles. Microsoft has not given up on their tiled interface and hopes Windows 10 will further ease users’ transition to their own interface paradigm. The new Start Menu has also integrated the universal Search that was present in the Start screen. The Run prompt in Windows 7 Start menu used to search only through the whole computer. It now also searches the web for whatever was typed.

Continuum – Not all Windows 8 users like the new system but have adopted and become used to the touch interface. Microsoft has taken them into account as well as those who actually liked the change. Continuum refers to Windows 10 adapting to the presence or absence of an attached keyboard. Windows 10 automatically becomes a tablet OS, adopting the Start Screen when hybrid systems are put into tablet mode. When Windows 10 detects a keyboard, it automatically boots to the desktop and adopts the Start Menu.

Snap or Automatic Screen Tiling – Windows 8 initially allowed only two Metro or full-screen apps to be visible at the same time through Snap. This was in no way attractive when using small screens. The new version of Snap allows more than two apps and desktop programs present on the screen at one time. This works great especially on big screens especially now that full screen apps are windowed and scale themselves depending on the window size. Previous Windows Versions didn’t support automatic tiling of applications on the desktop. Snap now automatically divides the screen into quadrants for better multitasking. This and the new ability to create multiple desktops, Windows 10 will redefine multitasking in Windows as we know it.

windows 10 multiple desktop screens now available 2015

Multiple Desktops – is a long overdue feature for Windows. Users can now group their apps or programs into multiple desktops. Users can create a desktop exclusively for work, for play and even for the web and social media and be able to easily shift from one desktop to another.

A Better Browser – codenamed Spartan, Microsoft announced that it will be present alongside Internet Explorer and that it will be simpler, it will be faster, include grouped tabbing and built from the ground up. For a better consumer browsing experience, users can use Spartan. For backward compatibility with business web apps or just plain old nostalgia, there’s still Internet Explorer.

A faster Operating System – Now that the Start Menu is back, users will lose focus on it and will actually notice performance improvements that Windows 8 first offered.

People clamored and Microsoft listened. Microsoft remains adamant and confident that Windows will still be the leading operating system for business and consumer use and that their efforts with Windows 8 were not in vain. Windows 10 will be similar if not better to the user turn around when they replaced Windows Vista with Windows 7.

Top 5 Most Overrated College Football Players

jameis winston most overrated college football players 2015

Jameis Winston, QB Florida State

The 2013 Heisman Trophy winner. Winner of 29 straight games. How can he be overrated? A year ago, Winston, and the Seminoles benefited from the play of wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin and a much stronger running game. Minus those two features, Winston struggled. Sure, FSU still went unbeaten during the regular season, beat Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship game, and qualified for the College Football Playoff as the No. 3 seed. But, it was on the biggest stage in the national semifinal where Winston showed his true colors. He failed to get in the end zone on a fourth-and-goal from the one, threw a costly interception, and fumbled as he was flushed from the pocket only to watch an Oregon’s Tony Washington return the miscue for a 58-yard touchdown.

bo wallace most overrated college football player 2014

Bo Wallace, QB Ole Miss

Yes, the Rebels had a tremendous season, Yes, Wallace was a big part of it. But in the end, Wallace was one of the prime reasons why Ole Miss fell from its shot at a berth in the first-ever College Football Playoff to a 9-3 regular season. Nowhere was it more evident than in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl where threw two interceptions that resulted in TCU going up 14-0 on its way to a 42-3 victory. Wallace would go 10-for-23 for a measly 109 yards on the day to go with three INTs. Wallace did lead Ole Miss to victory over Alabama and to a 7-0 start, but he and the rest of the Rebels faltered down the stretch going just 2-4 in their final six games. The Wallace-led offense generated just seven points in a loss to LSU and were shut out by an unranked Arkansas squad.

christian hackenberg most overrated college football players 2014

Christian Hackenberg, QB Penn State

“If he were eligible, he would be the top prospect in the draft.” Statements like these have been made about Hackenberg since he became just the second true freshman in school history to start the season-opener. Yes, it’s true that the Nittany Lions had some injuries in their offensive line that made Hackenberg’s sophomore season a bit rough. The 6-4, 234-pound QB completed just 55 percent of his passes and threw only 12 touchdowns for the season. It wasn’t like his teammates were scoring either. Penn State had one of the worst (120th in the nation) rushing attacks in college football and averaged just 20.6 points per game. In a game where you are measured by wins and losses, Hackenberg and Penn State lost six of their last eight regular season games.

devante parker most overrated college football players 2014

DeVante Parker, WR Louisville

When you think of Louisville football, you think of Bobby Petrino’s pass-happy offenses that usually generate a lot of points, some pretty good quarterbacks, and a wealth of capable receivers. One such receiver is Devontae Parker. Parker (6-3, 209) is long, lean, and a great athlete. He also happens to be the Cardinals best wide receiver. So, why is it that the best receiver in a pass happy offense, a returning All-ACC player nonetheless, catch just 43 balls for 855 yards? That’s barely over three receptions a game. Yes, the Cards had some quarterback issues, but they still threw for over 250 yards per game. Parker may excel at the next level, but he sure didn’t turn many heads during his senior season.

kenny hill most overrated college football player 2014

Kenny Hill, QB Texas A&M

Hill was the heir apparent to former Aggies Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. He beat out five-star freshman Kyle Allen to win the starting QB job last fall. He then proceeded to break Manziel’s single-game record when he threw for 554 yards in a season-opening win over South Carolina. Now, he’ll likely transfer. Hill had seven turnovers as Texas A&M lost three straight games in the middle of the season knocking them out of SEC and national championship contention. Hill was then suspended for two games for violating team rules and then eventually gave way to the Texas high school phenom Allen, who led the Aggies to a Liberty Bowl victory over West Virginia throwing for 294 yards and four touchdowns.

UNDERCOVER BOSS: EmpireCLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services Recap

On this week’s Undercover Boss David Seelinger, EmpireCLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services CEO, went on a mission to uncover the inner workings of his own company and determine what they are doing right and what they are doing wrong. Headquartered in Secaucus, New Jersey the company services customers in the U.S. and other countries.

David Seelinger assumed the identity of Sonny, a man trying to get started in the chauffeur business. In his first undercover mission he worked at Executive Las Vegas (an affiliate of EmpireCLS Worldwide with an unsuspecting chauffeur named Jackie. Her first impression of Sonny is that he looks like a truck driver in a suit. Upon transporting his first passengers of the night, Sonny gave them a bumpy ride. When this job was finished Jackie said Sonny had done a terrible drive and that he didn’t smile at his customers enough.

She also stated it was a miracle the customers tipped him and if she had been the customer she wouldn’t have. Jackie told Sonny he was going to have to loosen up for the next job. Sonny stated that he thought Jackie was the perfect chauffeur to be working in Las Vegas and that she should train all the chauffeurs. Jackie then told Sonny that she loves her job but that she also works a construction job. They also talked about marriage, divorce and being able to move on without feeling blame.

His second undercover job was also at a different Executive Las Vegas location working with the Assistant Fleet Director, Swan. Sonny stated that this position in the company was particularly important because the people in this position are ultimately responsible for the quality of the service the company offers. Swan took Sonny to a course that all chauffeurs working for the company must be trained to drive safely. As Sonny and Swan supervised Mr. Wue, one of the company’s drivers navigating the course, Mr. Wue did a terrible job and failed the test before he had even finished it. Yet he was already an employee of the company, in the position of a chauffeur. Sonny then stated he needed to find out the reason this man was allowed to work as a chauffeur for the company.

Sonny and Swan then inspected one of the company’s cars that were not working. While they were inspecting the car they talked about Swan’s past and Sonny asked her if the job she has now is her dream job. Swan replied that her dream job would be to rescue animals. At the end of the day Sonny stated that he wanted to ensure that each of the company’s chauffeurs was being trained and supervised properly.

For his third undercover job Sonny went undercover at the Secaucus, New Jersey to work at corporate headquarters. His job was to work with the company’s dispatchers, specifically one named Anthony. Sonny confessed that the greatest fear he had about working in the corporate office is that someone would recognize him. The first call he dealt with was from a driver whose passenger wanted to make a second, unscheduled stop. Anthony took over the call when he told Sonny to speak to the chauffeur and Sonny kept speaking to the customer instead. Sonny was not happy that Anthony stated he wanted to talk to the driver and NOT the passenger. He was also not happy that Anthony asked the driver if he had him on speaker phone because he didn’t want the customer to hear what he had to say. He then told the driver that since the unscheduled stop the customer wanted to make wasn’t on the way to his destination they didn’t have to agree to make that stop. Anthony then got into an argument with the customer, even going so far as to accuse the customer of lying, and this angered Sonny, who then stated that the customer is always right. When they went on break, Anthony said that he enjoyed the people he works with but implied that he doesn’t actually like his job. He also told Sonny that the company makes millions of dollars but they don’t look after their employees.

For the fourth undercover mission Sonny went to Los Angeles to work with more of the company’s chauffeurs. He then met with Frank, the chauffeur he would be working with. Their first job was to pick up a passenger at LAX. Sonny noted that the conversation Frank was having with the passenger during the drive was inappropriate. He then stated he would have to talk to Frank about the issue. When they went on break Frank confessed to Sonny that he had been hooked on drugs in the past but that he was happy with what he was accomplishing in his job.

undercover boss david seelinger with phone for worldwide chauffeured services

When it was time for Sonny to meet each of the employees he worked with and come clean about his undercover mission He told Anthony that he had come close to revealing his identity while they were working together. NFL Championship Game: Rob Gronkowski vs Colts 2015

Championship Weekend is here in the NFL, and as the top four teams try their best to earn a trip to Super Bowl XLIX the best talents in the league will be matching up against each other for their chance at the big game. The New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Indianapolis Colts are arguably the most talented squads in the NFL; so needless to say there is a lot to look out for. With that being said there is one big matchup that sticks out above all for the Championship Games this Sunday:

rob gronkowski flying over colts for championship nfl 2015

Rob Gronkowski vs the Indianapolis Colts Secondary: This is by far the biggest matchup of the weekend. Rob Gronkowski is the sole reason the Patriots offense has had a pulse this season. Gronk is the most dominant tight end in the NFL and the best player on the field at any given point in time. Gronkowski does two things for the Patriots offense when he takes the field: first, Gronk becomes literally the easiest target to hit in NFL history. Obviously Tom Brady is overrated, but even he can’t miss Gronk. At 6’6 with 265 pounds of pure muscle Gronkowski is an absolute freak of nature. The second, and arguably most important, thing the Gronk does for the Pats offense is help out Brady by drawing coverage off of everyone else. The Patriots have one of if not the best receiving corps in the NFL, but that’s not enough for Brady. In fact, Brady really can’t do much without Gronk. Well, with Gronk drawing two to three defenders per play, Brady simply has to decide which single-covered receiver he wants to throw to. Or he can just go ahead and throw it to Gronk, because he’ll catch anything in the area. When the Patriots played the Colts earlier this season, Brady looked incompetent as ever throwing to Gronk in the first half; however, by the second half he remembered he has other receivers which the Colts couldn’t cover. The only way the Colts can pull off the upset this weekend is to hope that Brady doesn’t learn his lesson like he did after the first half. Very unlikely, but either way Gronk wins this matchup ever time.

Downfall Of Google Glass

google glass fails 2015

This past week Google announced that Google Glass was going on hiatus which in any industry means, big giant failure. Not so says the big G, they are just taking them off the market and coming out with a new version next year meaning goodbye Glassholes out there. Even I noticed that the celebs that were first running around wearing them and showing them off have suddenly stopped. Google is great for being ahead of its time with many things, but this is one of those products that just isn’t ready for Primetime yet. So here’s a breakdown of what went wrong.

When Google first announced that it will be launching Smart Glasses called Google Glass, most of the consumers were quite excited due to its innovative nature. When the Google Glass was finally launched, many did purchase it but received the feedback in form of being called ‘Geeky’ and ‘Nerd’. Moreover, Google Glass ended up becoming a threat in public places as well since it had the ability to capture pictures and videos without anyone knowing.

Google has recently announced that the essence of Google Glass is still important and it will remain committed towards improving it, although the product Google Glass will no longer be produced. Google still thinks that such innovative idea deserves to be in the possession of consumers due to which the company will be working on some future versions of Google Glass. Moreover, the Explorer program that the company launched recently will also be shut down. Through this program the developers of software for Google Glass were basically receiving Google Glass at a discounted price. But unfortunately, the new software developers will not be receiving such discounts since the product is coming to an end. The current owners of Google Glass should be cautious but they have little reason to throw away this unique product since Google has claimed that the technology will be supported in the future on the company. However, it must be noted that the company will not take further orders of Google Glass.

The future of Google Glass

The team of Google Glass has now moved to another division of the company that is called Google X. The team is currently working on the blue sky research and this research has allowed the team to work independently under a new manager and executive. The team is directly reporting to Tony Fadell who is the CEO of Nest, a company that was taken over by Google not too long ago. The Glass team has come up with several important insights during the research and has stated that Google Glass remains a ground breaking product but it has told the company what the consumers really want. The team is currently working on the future versions of Google Glass but the executives or spokespersons of the company have refused to give any deadline for the launch of the new products.

Why it failed?

Security and Privacy

Google Glass was initially backed by the founders of the company and it looked like a promising prospect. Not only did it allow people to get directions while walking or driving but it also tapped into the lives of the consumers on the entertainment perspective as users were wearing it during sky diving adventures while recording the whole experience. Google Glass soon started to become stagnant when the consumers realized that it was not evolving enough to accommodate the needs of the consumers. Many on the other hand had privacy and safety issues due to which there were several public places such as restaurants that banned Google Glass.

The look

A survey was conducted among the Americans and they were asked how exactly Google Glass looked on the faces of the people. It was surprising to know that around 90% of them responded negatively and said that it looked quite awkward. This could be the reason why many people did not buy this product. Only the other hand, more than 70% of the people stated that it raised privacy issues and would not buy it.

Competition

While Google was busy in launching Smart Glasses, there were many other companies that were dedicating their time towards coming up with other smart devices in the wearable market. Many did come up with smart watches that were not only cheaper than the Google Glass but were also looked trendy. These watches came with many smart features and were somehow fulfilling the needs of the consumers. Some of the prominent smart watches that were flowing in the market were mostly built on the Android platform, a platform that most consumers in the market are familiar. It could be said that Google itself contributed towards the downfall of Google Glass since Android is a product of Google itself.

Developers

The availability of software in Google Glass is another issue that contributed towards its downfall. Usually when new platforms are introduced, the companies give the developers a demo version for which the applications can be made. For instance Apple rolled out the new version of iOS exclusively to the developers so that the popular applications could be made ready for the new software update for the consumers. Google did similar thing before rolling out Android Lollipop, and similarly Blackberry has also done the same thing in the past. This act of bringing the software developers on board was lacking with the Google Glass. Moreover, the developers had been waiting for quite a long time since the announcement of Google Glass and the waiting period forced them to shift towards developing applications for the more dominant products such as smart watches and new phones on updated platforms.

Hesitancy from the consumers

When Google announced the idea of Smart glasses to the market, the consumers were quite excited mainly because it was a unique idea and it was something that looked quite desirable. Although Google Glass did look very attractive when it was launched, the potential consumers of Google Glass were quick to identify the disadvantages that it came with. Moreover, it is common knowledge and consumers are often hesitant to buy new products that have barely been tested. This did hurt Google Glass a lot. One main disadvantage of Google Glass was its track pad. The consumers had to keep the track pad with them in order for the Google Glass to work, and the track pad had to remain in one’s pocket. Moreover, if the track pad was not kept in the pocket, it could essentially get damaged.

Moreover, Google Glass was revealed at a time when the use of social media was at its peak. This does benefit the people in some way, but most people were afraid that by using Google Glass they would be trapped in a virtual world that would consist of them and the social media. This did threaten the lifestyle of the consumers as Google Glass has the ability of restricting social interaction of a person. Even without Google glass most people are not able to interact fully even when in groups due to presence of smart phones. Imagine the damage Google glass would do in terms of social interaction then.

The cost of Google glass is another factor that contributed towards the downfall of Google Glass. Google Glass was priced at around $1500 which means that Google was only targeting customers that are in the higher income bracket. With that kind of money a person can easily buy a new Apple iPhone or a powerful gaming PC. This high price of the product provided the customers an opportunity to look for alternatives in the market. Many consumers in this modern age prefer to go for technological products that are in the budget category mainly because technological products go obsolete quickly. But this did not happen in the case of Google Glass and it failed to replicate its expected success in form of sales due to the pricing factor.

Google Glass also broke some code of ethics due to which it is banned in many public places as well, as stated earlier in the article. The main issue that Google Glass has is that it allows a user to record something without notifying someone. Moreover, Google Glass does not look like traditional glasses and one can spot it with some effort in a crowd. This immediately raises concerns in public spaces since you never know whether you are being recorded or not. It is quite obvious that people who would wear Google Glass in public would be followed by suspicious eyes all over this place. Perhaps this could be the main reason why Google Glass faced an immediate downfall since this is the main reason why many consumers would feel hesitant to buy it.

Has Google Glass ended?

Although the company has released an official statement that it would not produce Google glass and would not take any further orders, Google did gave consumers hope that the company would not stop researching on a similar product. There is no doubt that Google Glass made the consumers very excited and this is what has given hope to Google. People would definitely like to see a product that makes lives easier and now Google has the opportunity to eliminate all the disadvantages Google Glass came with. The research team that Google currently has dedicated towards this project should definitely give good results and looks promising which gives the consumers some hope that something unique is still set to come in future that should focus on making lives easier while being unique and revolutionary.

What Caused Green Bay Packers Meltdown Against Seahawks?

packers vs seahawks nfc championship 2015

It is easy to put all the blame on the Packers for not finishing the job against Seattle. And I will get to that shortly. But first I want to give credit to Seattle for doing what it took to get back in the game and rip victory from the jaws of sure defeat. The Seahawks proved their mettle as reigning Super Bowl Champions. They came back against a tough Packers team in the biggest game of the year for them. The game was incredible and I feel bad for the losers and can’t imagine the elation of the guys on the winning side.

Now for the anatomy of the meltdown. Green Bay was in control from the start of the game. The defense was on point, setting up the Packers offense at every turn. They did not give up a single point to the Hawks offense until very late in the game. The special teams are to blame for the touchdown given up on the fake field goal by sneaky Pete Carroll.

The much hailed Packers offense was to blame for not helping their defense out more. Sure they put up points in the first half against the NFL’s best defensive unit. I will give them that credit. However, they have to score touchdowns in that first half. They were in position to get six but failed. I think McCarthy should have went for it on fourth and inches on the goal line, but I am not going to kill him for that decision like many analysts will do today. If he went and they failed to make it, it would be a big story as the media mainly looks at results when judging play calling. The Packers players are to blame for not sniffing out the goal line when they were close. You have to score when you are in the midst of a run or catch that is anywhere near the end zone. It is a simple statement, but players don’t realize how their failure to go an extra two feet can turn a game around eventually.

The Packers led at halftime 16-0. A comfortable lead with their defense playing so well. Once the team gave up a touchdown on the fake field goal, they were not panicking, but some seed of doubt had to be planted. They added a field goal themselves to go up 19-7 with only five minutes left in the game. After that is when the Green Bay defense joined the offense in playing not to lose. Seattle marched down the field behind the running of the hardest balling man in the NFL, Marshawn Lynch. They capped the drive with a Wilson run to make the score dangerously close at 19-14. You see, touchdowns add up quicker than FGs Mr. McCarthy.

The next play was the onside kick in which the Packers’ Brandon Bostick will be forever remembered as the goat of the game. He did screw up in a major way as he didn’t block as instructed. He tried to field the ball instead letting the hands guys behind him snatch it. But he is not solely to blame. To do so is like putting all the blame on one wrong move in a game of chess. The meltdown was team wide and stretched throughout the entire 60 minutes.

Once Seattle got the onside kick, I had little doubt that they would score a touchdown….even with Russell Wilson having the worst game of his young life which included four interceptions! The Packers defense could not stop the Seahawks offense any longer. They were done. Lynch put Seattle up 20-19 with a huge 24 yard run after playing the best game any back could imagine himself having in such a big game.

The two point conversion was as big as the onside kick miscue. Russell Wilson was under crazy pressure, yet somehow escaped, miles behind the line of scrimmage. He then lofts up a duck that Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, collector of Wilson passes on the day, fails to make a play on. The joke was on Ha Ha this time as Luke Wilson made the grab to increase Seattle’s lead to three.

To the Pack’s credit, they did make it down the field to get the thing knotted up at 22 with a long field goal from their clutch kicker in the rain. McCarthy should have ran some more time off before the kick, but that didn’t come back to bite him luckily.

The last domino of the meltdown fell when the Seahawks won the coin toss. The updated overtime rules of a few years back would not help Green Bay in this game. The champions were emboldened by their success in the last five minutes of regulation. They made a few plays to put the Packers on the ropes, then Wilson delivered a perfect pass to Kearse for the touchdown which ended the game right then and there. I feel kind of sorry for the few uneducated Packers fans who must have thought that Aaron Rodgers would have advance to match the score. That is not the case of course with a TD so #12 never made it back on the field. Game over. Meltdown complete. Champs move on. Packers go home. Thanks for coming.

NFL Down To Four: Seattle, New England, Indianapolis & Green Bay

nfl final four champions 2015

Seattle. New England. Indianapolis. Green Bay. These teams stand on the edge of glory. One more win and they get a trip to the Super Bowl. But obviously that win will not come easy, as all these teams are scrapping for their place in history. Legacies will be on the line, especially for the field generals in Sunday’s Conference Title games. Rodgers, Wilson, and Brady all have some Super Bowl jewelery. Luck has yet to get a shot at his ring. But is all this talk about history and pressure to be a champion just media driven?

These four quarterbacks would have you believe that they prepare for a big game just like any other. That is what coaches have driven into their football brains since high school. That is the best way for them to prepare because it is just another game. The field is the same. Each side of the ball has 11 men. There are no special goal posts flown in for the NFC or AFC Championship Games. But in the backs of these QBs’ minds there is an added pressure. To be considered among the best ever, they need to win Title games then do the same in the Super Bowl. They can act like there is no added pressure, but it is there.

Even the quarterback who ends up with the Lombardi Trophy in a couple of weeks won’t be satisfied. Neither will the fans or we in the media. It is never enough to win a Super Bowl. The talk of multiple rings is always mentioned once the next season starts. Historic greats like Joe Montana are hard comparisons for players still trying to make their mark. Whatever these stars do, it will never be enough. Even Tom Brady gets a little flak for failing to get his team to another Super Bowl victory after winning three very early in his career.

The score board is all that matters in the end and no fan will care if Rodgers loses the NFC Title Game on a blocked field goal. Not one writer will worry much about a failed fourth and inches attempt by a running back late in the game that could cause Brady to miss another Super Bowl try. The scoreboard will be all that most remember in a few weeks and whether their quarterback was able to get the job done or not. FYI, three of these guys won’t get the job done in the end. Only one will end up a winner after the last second ticks off the Super Bowl clock. A game of inches is hard on all players, especially quarterbacks.

I will admit that all this legacy talk is mostly for us in the media. But it is in the backs of the minds of each quarterback that takes the field Sunday. They have no choice but to be in the “moment” of these Title Games. Thinking ahead even a little is a good way to have an awful game. They must focus on each play, situation, and drive, in order to keep their team’s march to the Super Bowl alive. But each of these guys have a sense of history and want their names mentioned with the best of all time. They can’t think about that stuff right now with games still to play. Rest assured all those thoughts will be prevalent once the off season begins though, just ask Peyton Manning. That off season will start Sunday night for two of these elite quarterbacks.
