Celebrity Gossip Roundup: NeNe Leakes Wendy Williams Fluff Up Terrence Howard Expensive Penis Pics

What do you get when two messy ass women call themselves “beefing?” A messy ass mess. NeNe Leakes and Wendy Williams apparently have been feuding for a while and it came to a head over the weekend with an incident in Atlanta at the Ultimate Women’s Expo. At the Georgia World Congress Center, William’s husband Kevin Hunter started the mess when he demanded that organizers move Leaks’ dressing room away from his wife’s. I mean this dude was adamant about his wife being nowhere near NeNe.

Then to make matters worse, NeNe threw some major shade at the talk show host when she mocked an anecdote she used during her speech, interestingly titled, ““10 Rules Every Woman Should Live By.” Hmmm, I wonder if one of them is no beefing.

Her husband blew all the way up back stage after the jab and you kind of can’t blame him. I mean NeNe got up there after Williams and said,

“I’m your home girl — I live my life as an open book, and I’m happy I don’t need 10 rules to live by!”

Now I thought Peter from the Real Housewives of Atlanta got in females business too much but from what it is reported Hunter said, he takes the cake. Right after NeNe dissed Wendy, he exploded backstage saying to get her “motherfucking ass of the stage” and “turn that bitch’s mic off.” Damn Kevin, mad much? He defiantly needs to chill in the future and just let women have their squabbles. There really is no need for him to act that way.

The real kicker though is NeNe’s attitude after it all happened. She told Andy Cohen during an interview on Watch What Happens Live Sunday “I didn’t even see Wendy or her husband today.”

Met Gala Fashion: Beyoncé Ruled the Red Carpet

Say what you want about Queen Bey. When it comes to making a statement and taking people’s shine, she does it without apology. The 2015 Met Gala also known as the Costume Institute Gala, is an annual fundraiser to benefit the “Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute in New York City.” Each year there is a theme and this year it was “China: Through the Looking Glass” and there were several “looking glass” dresses.

However, none of them stood out as much as Beyoncé’s. Now people are saying that she was doing the most and that it was unnecessary, etc. but there really is no denying the fact that she looked absolutely amazing. From her hair to her shoes, she slayed the damn thing. And really, can you expect anything else from her? Bey’s look way absolutely breathtaking.

You know, it always makes me wonder when people openly and vehemently hate on her and others about what they wear and what they do. I think it is all from a source of hateration and people just need to stop. Don’t get me wrong though, some people deserve the criticism they get (Kim Kardashian… cough).

jamie foxx national anthem panned by everyone 2015 gossip

Jamie Foxx on National Anthem: “I Was a Little Off”

You’ve got to love someone who can look at him or herself and say whatever one else is thinking (and saying). Jamie Foxx has finally broken his silence on the outcome of his rendition of the national anthem at the Mayweather Pacquiao fight.

Very aware that his stab at the song was less than enjoyable, he spoke with Ellen on her show Tuesday jokingly telling her,

oprah shocked at jamie foxx national anthem

‘Now some people were a little upset about how it went down. But here’s the thing first of all, anytime a black person sings the national anthem you know we gotta – “Oh sayyyyyyy can youuououou.”

He went on to further kind of “blame on or or or or or or or organ” saying that he couldn’t really hear it over the crowd and that messed up his “inner ear.” He then says,

“So some of it was a little off, but in the arena it killed. The telecast was a little off. But ya know we still love America!”

Oh Jamie Foxx, brushing off how he fucked up with humor and charm. There’s a reason he is rich and famous.
terrence howard ex wife extortion for naked pictures 2015 gossipTerrence Howard Extorted by Ex Wife

And another one bites the dust. One of my favorite green-eyed men is in a bit of a dilemma. Terrence Howard, star of the hit Fox show Empire, claims his ex wife Michelle, extorted him by threatening to release naked pictures of him unless he gave her what she wanted.

The marriage only lasted a year but this chick got five years worth of spousal support because of her threats. He has now filled legal documents that claim he recorded her saying how much she can make by revealing his package for the whole world to see.

In the docs filed by his attorney Brian Kramer, Terrence says he secretly recorded her saying, “I can make a good $2 million right now … you want to see your little **** out there in front of TV?”

Terrence says he has her on tape saying she will tell every woman in the world he gave her an STD.

He says she’s also caught on tape saying, “Trust me, you’re f****** with the wrong person. You f***** with me way too much. I will f****** bury you deep in the ground.”

Well damn, what the hell did he do to get on her bad side? He wants a judge to throw out the settlement, which makes sense because he is set to get a shit load of money from the second season of Empire. Of course I hope he wins, (for a whole other reason I will not go into right now).

Rafael Nadal Defeats Steve Johnson: 2015 Madrid Open

rafael nadal beats steve johnson 2015 madrid open

Rafael Nadal is proving that sometimes going back to your old ways can be a great way to get out of a big tennis slump, and the Spaniard proved himself right after defeating Steve Johnson in two sets 6-4, 6-3 at the 2015 Madrid Open Wednesday. Some say that Johnson was an easy win for Rafi, but when you’re in a slump, any win can be a boost of confidence. The absence of Novak Djokovic is also making his job of moving closer to the final much easier, while many of us are eagerly anticipating him hitting the court with old time rival Roger Federer.

The four-time Mutua Madrid Openchampion struck 14 winners and lost just 10 of his service points in a 6-4, 6-3 win over Steve Johnson.

“I went out there to do a simple game with no complications,” said Nadal. “I tried to play easily. I know how things work out when you come from losing a couple of matches. I know that you’re a little bit nervous whenever you finish a game, as I finished the other day with [Fabio] Fognini in Barcelona.

“I tried to start from the bottom and just go up. I think, especially the last three games, I finished pretty well. I managed to do a couple more things with my backhand.”

He will now play Simone Bolelli in the third round at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament, where he has a 36-8 match record.

“I know things are going to work out,” said Nadal. “I haven’t lost my game. I just need to build my confidence and it’ll work out. I know that either sooner or later it will come back. That’s what I want to think. I’m convinced about it. It’s matter of time. Let’s see when it happens.”

Nadal, who is 12-3 on clay in 2015, has won at least one European ATP World Tour clay-court title leading into Roland Garros for the past 11 years.

In February, Nadal won the 46th clay court title of his career in Buenos Aires (d. Monaco) and is now just three short of Guillermo Vilas’ record clay court title haul of 49.

Bolelli earned a spot in his first third round of an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event in six years (2009 Monte-Carlo), defeating fellow Italian Luca Vanni 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

David Ferrer Moves To Third Round: 2015 Madrid Open

david ferrer returns to win at 2015 madrid open

David Ferrer, the number eight ranked tennis player in the world swung his way into the 2015 Madrid Open third round in two sets after defeating fellow Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-4, 6-0.

Seventh seed Ferrer, who has reached the quarter-finals or better on home soil in each of the past five years, fired 22 winners and converted on five of 13 break points chances to move on after just 79 minutes. The Spaniard is a mere five clay-court match wins from joining Rafael Nadal as the only active players to reach 300 victories on the surface in their careers. Ferrer owns a 295-114 win-loss record on clay. He will face another compatriot – Fernando Verdasco – in the third round.

“He’s a really good player, especially on clay courts,” Ferrer said of his countryman. “I knew there were going to be some long rallies. He started playing really well. Then I started playing a little bit shorter and he didn’t know how to take his advantage. In the second set he had a little bit of physical problems and that’s all.”

Verdasco was two points from defeat in his second round battle against ninth seed Marin Cilic, trailing by a set and 5-2 in the second set tie-break, but the Madrid native’s resiliency won out in the end, battling back to edge the big-hitting Croat 6-7(5), 7-6(5), 6-3 after two hours and 26 minutes.

The Spaniard converted on five of seven break opportunities to set a 20th meeting in his FedEx ATP Head2Head rivalry with Ferrer. He trails 7-12 and will look to stop an eight-match losing skid and move into the quarter-finals in his home town for the third time.

John Isner To Face Roger Federer Or Nick Kyrigios Next: 2015 Madrid Open

john isner beats thomaz bellucci 2015 madrid open

American tennis player John Isner is moving on to the third round of the 2015 Madrid Open after defeating Brazil’s Thomaz Bellucci 7-6(5), 6-7(11), 6-1 on Wednesday and will be facing either Roger Federer or rising Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios. Isner is proving himself to also be a rising star coming back from some low times, but he’s not obviously got his eye on moving as far as he can in this Open, but facing Roger Federer isn’t an easy task.

The top American led 6-4 in the second set tie-break and had a third match point at 8-7, but was unable to put away Bellucci in straights, who converted on his fifth set point to force a decider. Isner would settle down in the third set, however, racing out to a 5-0 lead before clinching the win after two hours and 12 minutes.

“I’m actually glad I lost that second set, because it allowed me to play fantastic in the third set,” Isner admitted. “I had match points in the second set tie-break and one on my serve. Usually I’m good in that situation. Not this time, but I put it behind me. I played one of the best third sets I’ve played all year.”

thomaz bellucci loses to john isner 2015 madrid open

The 30 year old, who fired 23 aces and denied the lone break point faced, has equaled his best result in the Spanish capital. He advanced to the third round on two previous occasions in 2010 (l. to Nadal) and ’14 (l. to Ferrer).

Sixth seed Tomas Berdych and No. 12 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will meet for the eighth time on the ATP World Tour after both securing their spots in the Madrid third round on Wednesday.

“The key was to stay focused,” said Tsonga. “I was playing well in the beginning and then he came back in the match. I fought and tried to continue to be consistent.

“It’s always difficult to come back (from injury). It’s not easy every day  but I continued to fight and I’m sure it’s going to be better and better.”

Berdych denied last week’s Millennium Estoril Open champion Richard Gasquet 7-6(3), 7-5 in one hour and 37 minutes, while Tsonga handed Jack Sock his first defeat on clay this year, prevailing 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(4). Berdych, a finalist in Madrid in 2012, will look to reach a tour-leading eighth quarter-final this year.

WHAT HAPPENED, MISS SIMONE? A Perfect Tribute To Nina Simone Trailer

nina simone documentary what happened images 2015

Nina Simone is that rare singer who could envelope herself deep inside of every song she sang giving you an entirely different interpretation no matter how many times you might have heard it before from another artist. One great example is Mr. Bojangles, which has been sung by many artists, including Sammy Davis, Jr, but Simone’s version (you can listen to it below) is guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye the way her voice creeps deep into your being and soul and just won’t let go until long after that song has ended.

There have been documentaries made of the incredible singer before, but What Happened, Miss Simone seems to be the one that gives you the real look at a complicated artist who’s life offstage was hard to distinguish from the drama she brought to her music onstage.

Netflix is continuing to make themselves known for being the best in creating and streaming original content. They recently released their mesmerizing new trailer for the upcoming documentary What Happened, Miss Simone which will be released on June 26th 2015. If I’m being honest, I’ve heard songs of Simone here and there and though I appreciate the deepness of her music, never became a big fan of it. However, this documentary is must watch for me as it tells the complex story of a strong African-American woman who no doubt left an amazing mark on the world.

The in-depth as well as honest documentary is being directed by the Academy Award nominated director Liz Garbus. It’s shaping up to be a must-see for fans and non-fans alike. The documentary features never before heard audio tapes collected from three decades of interviews and would-be biographers. The material comes from over 10 hours of these recording. Rare concert footage is also used which should excite music fans as her performances were often full of passion and straight from the soul.

The film includes archival interviews with the singer, along with intimate diary entries and letters. Although the documentary is built more around Simone’s own words, the film does include interviews from her daughter Lisa Simone Kelley, her friends and collaborators. There’s also exclusive material included in the film that no one has ever seen before. The film is being described as “the most authentic, personal, and unflinching telling of the extraordinary life of one of the 20th Century’s greatest recording artist.”

Synopsis: What Happened, Miss Simone? by Academy Award®-nominated director Liz Garbus, uses never-before-heard audio tapes, recorded over the course of three decades, of Nina telling her life story to various interviewers and would-be biographers. From over 100 hours of these recordings, WHAT HAPPENED, MISS SIMONE? weaves together Nina’s narrative, told largely in her own words. Rare concert footage and archival interviews, along with diaries, letters, interviews with Nina’s daughter, Lisa Simone Kelly, friends and collaborators, along with other exclusive materials, make this the most authentic, personal, and unflinching telling of the extraordinary life of one of the 20th Century’s greatest recording artists.

The documentary starts off in more a melancholy manner as it talks about the amazing artist she was and the mark she left on the world. The entire mood of the trailer changes when Simone’s daughter Lisa says that her mother’s biggest problem was the fact that she was “the artist Nina Simone” all the time. The trailer then goes on to have a darker tone as people describe the constant anger and hot temper Simone carried around when she wasn’t on stage. Like many performers it appears that she was most comfortable when she was sharing her music. The documentary does not appear to be trying to demonize Simone, but better yet be honest about her amazing life and the story behind her history changing music.

For better or for worse, this documentary definitely has my attention.

Dot Com 2.0 Coming Soon?

dot com bubble burst 2.0

Big business begins with a great idea, such as the ability to send messages that delete themselves after a few seconds or the ability to call a freelance driver through a mobile app to take you anywhere. That idea is refined, then presented, feasibility-checked and then capitalized. Then it needs to grow, presented some more or advertised, acquire public interest, become popular and more investors come in. The company grows, becomes public, declares an IPO and later becomes a bigger business. That’s the ideal life cycle for big businesses. Nowadays, the technology business is booming. Some follow the formula, others don’t. Left and right we hear of technological startups which either grow or get snapped up by bigger businesses. The list keeps growing and people don’t seem to run out of ideas but are further motivated to think up more. There’s no time like today to think up something revolutionary for our mobile devices to do and strike it rich. However, according to nature, what comes up must come down and many say that the tech industry is at its peak and will soon blow up in our faces. Is that time drawing near or are we there already?

Silicon Valley is again at its peak. It has been the center of attention since the growth of personal computing, the dotcom boom and now, cloud central. There’s now even a TV show of the same name describing in detail how startups are born out of revolutionary ideas such as a super compression algorithm. Startups are rising all over the place and there’s just a lot of money rolling around. Here are some of the hottest startups the past few years. We have Uber, one of the fastest rising companies with a whopping 40 billion dollar valuation. It started with an app that took advantage of idle drivers to help people having trouble getting a cab. Snapchat has a valuation of 10-20 billion dollars, also from an app that allows people to share pictures, videos and text they want to keep private for up to 10 seconds. Airbnb is another app-borne business with an up to 20 billion dollar valuation where users can provide or get short-term bed and breakfast accommodations. Travelers can for example temporarily bunk n someone’s living room in case no hotels are available. These apps supplied the world with three important necessities: transportation, shelter and privacy. More apps and devices continue to catch the public eye, some important, others crazy and investors continue to pony up and cash in.

With all these investment opportunities going around, some with ridiculously high valuations, it’s not hard to think that someone might just make some little mistake along the way and turn the valley into a steaming pile just like what happened with the dotcom bubble between 1999 and 2001. Back then, everything was based on investor confidence and little on performance. Analysts are now predicting another burst in the next few years because they see a lot of money going around and not enough results. This year, money is carefully poured into better businesses leaving fledgling startups to burn away their initial capital. This increase in careful investment will result in the increased burn rates for companies that gathered much capital last year and less this year whose products have not yet reached critical mass. And with a storm of ideas flooding the market, investors could pour their money on new startups and tend to neglect or pull out from their previous ventures. If these burning companies are numerous enough, we’re indeed looking at another technology bubble in the making.

dot com tech bubble burst signs 2.0 2015

What other ways could cause the downfall of startups? Mismanagement, poor business model, failure to gain further interest and obsolescence to improved or better ideas and patent conflicts with bigger entities. Some failed startups and companies last year include Hukkster, a sales anticipation app, burned out; Graphicly, an app that allows people to self-publish, burned out; Uppsite, an app that turns websites in apps, burned out; Aereo the company that would have turned mobile phones into mobile TV sets lost to copyright infringement and TwitPic, an app that allowed photo content to be posted to Twitter, outmuscled by Twitter. These are just a few of the many predicted to go down because of technology going too fast and due to short attention spans.

But, as mentioned, business is still booming in the valley and other parts of the world as technology continues to improve. Failed startups and burned out established companies continue to be replaced by new ones. People scramble to turn their ideas into businesses. Thankfully, unlike the dotcom era, many are more careful about their investments and people test the waters first to see what floats through crowd funding sites such as KickStarter and Indiegogo. Still, what goes up must come down. Somewhere along the way, something could happen that will make most mundane apps irrelevant, someone will get careless, some new law could affect the tech industry or some overlooked legality could bring many tech companies come crashing down.

Hopefully that doesn’t happen as the search for the killer app and gadget continues. Giant companies continue to open doors such as Apple having released the new Apple Watch, which opens up new opportunities for mini-apps. Microsoft will be launching Windows 10 and its universal apps which works for both desktop and mobile again opening the world to new hardware and software opportunities. The bubble might not come as soon as pundits think.

The Future Of Cloud Computing Is Cloudy

cloud computing 2015

Every minute of every day there are new applications being launched that provide services to us via the cloud. From photograph storage and printing to social media to managing and performing transactions almost everything we do today on our computers is managed, stored and run from within this ever growing cloud that we all know so well but understand so little about.

In reality the cloud is just a new name for what we have been used to for years – the Internet. The term cloud really defines the ways in which the Internet has changed, grown and to explain the way in which it has started to move away from being a physically defined infrastructure to software defined one.

There are many misconceptions when it comes to the cloud and from these misconceptions spawn many fears – especially when it comes to data security and safety.

Setting the cloud aside, the Internet is simply a network of computers that we are able to take advantage of when it comes to storing, accessing and managing our data. In simple terms we can use other more powerful computers that are connected to the network that is the Internet to perform tasks that our own personal computers could not perform.

This is how the Internet works for us and it makes complete sense – it means that as consumers or end users we can have very basic low cost computers and we can still store infinite amounts of emails, files, photos and many other types of digital content by utilizing more powerful computers connected to our network. Thanks to the speed of modern Internet we can then access this information over a secure connection as if it were on our local computer.

Good examples of how this system works in our everyday lives are email services such as Microsoft office 365, Hotmail and Yahoo as well as file storage services such as Dropbox and Live drive.

future of cloud computing is cloudy 2015

So where does the cloud come in?

The cloud is simply the user friendly term that is used to personify the way in which this network has evolved from being a very static and tangible network into something far more autonomous and malleable thanks to modern technologies, namely software defined computing.

These technologies have enabled the Internet – or more specifically the services and architecture that make it up – to remove the constraints of each physical computer that it runs on and instead have seen the Internet slowly turning into a singular structure that has no boundaries.

To put the cloud into simple terms, it’s like having so many photos on your PC that you completely run out of space. The first thought would be to get another PC to start storing the next wave of photographs on – but what happens when that computer fills up? And what happens if one of those two computers breaks – then you would lose half of your photos. The concept of cloud computing enables those two computers, and many more, to act like a single computer. Software automatically distributes all of the photos across the two computers so that the entire combined storage capabilities and computing power is used in the most efficient way. In fact the software makes the files and applications that run on the computers oblivious to the individual computers themselves and allows them only to see a single giant computer. This means that more and more computers can be added to the pool as needed making the amount of photos that can be stored infinite.

Not only does this technology mean that the pooled computers can hold an unlimited number of photos but because the software distributes the photos across the computers and manages everything independently of the hardware, even if one or more of the computers were to fail, the software can continue to run without any issue by moving the data onto the remaining computers. Similar to the way in which RAID systems work, the software also maintains a redundancy across all systems so that when a number of machines fail no data is lost.

Whilst many people are often wary of the cloud it is actually a far more robust way of storing data and managing computer resources.

In addition to being safer and more robust the other benefit of cloud computing technologies is the fact that they can be expanded indefinitely. Unlike the single computer setup that stores a limited amount of photos until it becomes full, the cloud computing model allows for an infinite number of computers to be added to the network whilst still appearing as a single computer to the applications that run on it. Because of this the cloud brings the possibility of infinite expansion and therefore cannot ever become full.

The cloud has really given a way for digital technology to break through its physical boundaries which is quite an amazing feat in itself. For example, even if a cloud computing pool were to fill an entire data centre that wouldn’t mean it had reached its size limit; with cloud technologies computers or servers located in another data centre could be added to that pool and still appear as a single computing resource to the applications and data that it contained.

It has been estimated that by 2020 the digital universe will have grown to around 44 trillion gigabytes which involves it more than doubling in size every two years. These figures are probably conservative estimates and may well jump up dramatically as the Internet of Things really begins to blossom. Will this growth cloud the digital landscape? Probably not – in fact it’s more likely that someone will be reading this article in a few years and thinking to themselves – how ridiculous that 44 trillion gigabytes used to be considered a large amount of data!

Josh McCown Pushes Ahead Of Johnny Manziel For Browns Starting QB

josh mccown pushing out johnny manziel for starting browns 2015

While many in the media were wondering if the Cleveland Browns had placed full faith and credit into Johnny Manziel after the 2015 NFL Draft, head coach Mike Pettine brought everything into reality. He has basically appointed Josh McCown as the frontrunner to win the starting quarterback job over Manziel, Thad Lewis and Connor Shaw.

“I think that’s fair to say,” Pettine said on 92.3 The Fan on Monday.

That’s a little stronger than what Pettine said nine days before the draft.

“We’re a ways away from just kind of worrying about how the depth part of it shakes out,” Pettine said on April 21.  “They’re all in that room, and they’re all trying to learn it. Josh, obviously, has an advantage having been in this system where there’s a lot of carryover because he worked with (offensive coordinator John DeFilippo) Flip before. I know a lot of those similar roots are in there, but we don’t really kind of get into depth charts and where guys are.”

josh mccown lead for browns starting quarterback over johnny manziel 2015

Manziel was released in April from a rehab facility, which specialized in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, after more than 10 weeks. In a released statement, he said he took “full responsibility for my actions” and added that he intends to “work very hard to regain everyone’s trust and respect.”

Manziel, who was taken with the 22nd overall pick by the Browns in 2014, completed only 51 percent of his attempts for 175 yards and two interceptions before suffering a season-ending hamstring injury.

Josh McCown, who worked with DeFilippo with the Raiders in 2007, threw for 2,206 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who finished tied for the worst record last year with the Tennessee Titans.

Blake Griffin Comes Alive Bringing LA Clippers To NBA Finals Contention

blake grffin comes alive for la clippers 2015

Chris Paul sat out Game 1 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Houston Rockets with a hamstring injury, but that didn’t stop the Los Angeles Clippers from pulling out a 117-101 victory over the 2nd seed.

Blake Griffin has received a lot of criticism over the course of his career because of his inability to show up when the team needs him most, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth on Monday. Griffin put up CP3-esque numbers, finishing with 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists—his third triple-double of the playoffs.

Griffin regressed in his overall points per game, rebounds, blocks, steals, and field goal percentage this season; and you know he’s had to hear about it all year. The Clippers have received much the same doubt during the regular season, and no one gave them much of a chance in their 1st round matchup against the San Antonio Spurs.

Well Griffin (and the Clips) put those haters to rest this postseason. After taking down the defending champs in Game 7, the Clippers have stolen home-field from the Rockets in commanding fashion, led by Griffin.

blake griffin leads la clippers to nba finals 2015

Griffin has really stepped up as a floor manager so far this postseason. Clippers fans hardly noticed that Paul was missing, as Griffin dished out 13 assists, continuously finding the open shooter.

“Ooh, man. He’s the best player on the court every night,” said Matt Barnes on the emerging superstar. “I think he had so much so fast [earlier in his career] that the world expected [too much] and it’s been a learning process.”

Barnes then went on to describe Griffin’s new-found maturity and how big it has been for the team recently.

The Clippers will need big performances from Blake at least three more games in this series if they want to get past the Rockets. After that it would be off to the Western Conference Finals against either the Golden State Warriors or Memphis Grizzlies. Both of these teams match up well against the size and power of Griffin; so at the end of the day, a NBA Finals run will hinge on his massive shoulders.

Andy Murray Adjusting Quickly To Madrid After Munich Open 2015

andy murray wins munic open 2015

You’d never know that Andy Murray had just gotten married after quickly jumping into the 2015 Munich Open and taking that title. Now after only one day, he’s already in Madrid having to quickly adjust to things like high altitude, a whole different style of clay…and well still adjusting to being married.

Andy Murray has been working to make a one-day turnaround from slow, heavy conditions in Munich to the high-altitude, faster-bouncing clay of the Spanish capital in order to be ready for an opening challenge at the Madrid Masters.

The third-ranked Scot arrived after winning his first clay title in Munich in a rain delayed final on Monday, but was facing a race against time to adjust to the totally different courts of Madrid’s Caja Magica.

“(Winning on Munich clay) is obviously a positive for me, it was a goal that I had for this year,” said Murray, who can boast of only a trio of quarter-final placings since Madrid changed from hard-court to clay in 2009.

Murray beat German Philipp Kohlschreiber in an epic three-hour final on Monday and could run into his opponent in the second round on Wednesday should Kohlschreiber defeat qualifier Alejandro Falla in the first round.

andy murray adjusting quickly to madrid after munich open 2015

“It was an extremely tough match and a dramatic finish. That always makes it a little bit nicer,” Murray said of his success. “This gives me a little bit more confidence obviously with the French Open just a few weeks to go.

“It’s nice to win events at any level. I hope I can have a good run at one of the next two events, either here or Rome, and get myself ready for the French.

Murray’s Munich win also marked a standout first week with new coach Jonas Bjorkman, with the experienced Swede coming aboard to pick up the team slack due to the pregnancy of groundbreaking female coach Amelie Mauresmo.

“There were a lot of rain delays, but the positives were that we also got to spend quite a lot of time at the site getting to know each other and him getting to know the team well too,” Murray said of his opening week with Bjorkman.

“Obviously the outcome of the tournament was a good, positive start and hopefully I can continue that this week.”

Murray was heading quickly to the practice courts for an acclimatising hit-out on the Madrid clay.

“Conditions last week were very different to what they are here. Obviously I think a little bit more altitude here. But it’s been very warm. Last week it was very cold a lot of the days and raining.

“It’s going to be a tricky turnaround. I practice this afternoon, and will just make the best of the time that I’ve got before my match tomorrow (Wednesday).”

2015 Madrid Open: Milos Raonic Knocks Out Juan Monaco For Third Round

milos raonic beats juan monaco for madrid open 2015

Canadian fifth seed Milos Raonic came out literally swinging hard making a very strong start at the 2015 Madrid Open knocking Juan Monaco out as he moves into the third round.

Canada’s Milos Raonic advanced to the third round of the Madrid Open Tuesday with a convincing 6-3, 6-4 win over Argentine Juan Monaco.

Raonic, of Thornhill, Ont., will now face either Leonardo Mayer or Feliciano Lopez in the next round.

Raonic, seeded fifth in the tournament, served nine aces and broke Monaco’s serve twice.

The Canadian is hoping to continue a streak that’s seen him reach the quarter-finals or better of an ATP Masters 1000 event in nine of his last 12 tournaments.

Also, 10th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria advanced after Donald Young of the United States had to retire from the match because of injury.

The 25-year-old Young received treatment for back pain while trailing 6-4, 3-0 and was unable to resume play.

Sharapova advances on women’s side

On the women’s side, Maria Sharapova moved on by beating Mariana Duque-Marino of Colombia 6-1, 6-2.

The third-seeded Russian and defending champion broke Duque-Marino’s serve four times while saving three break points on her own serve.

“She is someone who, if you give her time, creates angles, slices and usually drop-shots a lot more than she did in this match because she has the hands and the ability to do so,” Sharapova said.

Sharapova’s next opponent will be Caroline Garcia of France, who beat the 14th-seeded Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

John Isner Raising His Game & Rising In the Ranks: 2015 Madrid Open

john isner raising his game 2015

Every tennis player has had to go through the grueling process of rising through the ranks year after year, and John Isner is no different. He’s worked for years on his game, had his share of ups and downs, but the American tennis player is proving his mettle this season at the 2015 Madrid Open.

Like every tennis player, American John Isnerhas lost his fair share of matches, 161 throughout his career to be precise, but few have resonated with him more than a 15-13 fifth-set defeat to World No. 111 James Wardon Davis Cup duty in early March.

But it proved to be the catalyst the 30 year old needed to jump start his season and arrive at the Mutua Madrid Open with a quiet confidence on the European clay.

“I hit rock bottom after that Davis Cup,” Isner told ATPWorldTour.com. “[It was] one of the lowest points of my career and definitely of my year. I’m going to lose matches, but when you lose matches like that in Davis Cup, and you’re playing for your country, I just didn’t do it.

“At that point there was nowhere to go but up. I had a very long car ride from LAX to Indian Wells with Justin [Gimelstob – coach], when I landed from London. We talked about a few things and really turned around.”

The Davis Cup defeat compounded what had been a distinctly average start to the season for Isner, who started working with Gimelstob at the turn of the year. The right-hander suffered a third-round loss to the resurgent Gilles Muller at the Australian Open, and won just one match in his following two tournaments in Memphis and Delray Beach.

But things picked up swiftly for Isner when he returned home. He put up a strong challenge against World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the BNP Paribas Openfourth round and two weeks later knocked out Grigor Dimitrov, Milos Raonicand Kei Nishikori to reach the semi-finals in Miami, where he again succumbed to Djokovic.

“You’re never going to get instant results with a new coach, but I never doubted that Justin was my guy,” said Isner. “I have a great team around me. It’s not just Justin; he’s not here right now. My coach in Tampa, Rene Muller, I work with him as much as I do with Justin and together we’re a very good team. I never doubted and I knew that if I just kept working hard, things would turn around and that’s what happened.”

A false start on the clay in Houston was quickly forgotten at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, where Isner pushed Rafael Nadal in a tight three-set contest. On Monday, he began his Mutua Madrid Open campaign with victory overAdrian Mannarino.

In the Spanish capital, he is one of five Americans in the main draw, marking the first time so many Americans have competed at an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament on clay since Rome 2004. Joining Isner are recent Houston champion, Jack Sock, Steve Johnson, Sam Querrey and Donald Young.

“It takes a few matches to really get acclimated to the surface,” said Isner. “Once I get a few matches under my belt, on any surface but especially clay, I feel better and I feel more comfortable moving. This tournament and these courts are very good for me. It’s quick, it helps my serve out so much, so it’s really good conditions for me, I think.

“I think last year I was the only American here and now we have five. Three of the guys are under 25 years old, Donald, Steve and Jack, and I’m the older guy – just turned 30! – and myself and Sam. We’re doing pretty well.”
