Nicki Minaj’s Silent Shade On Jennifer Lopez & Kylie Jenner Single Again

nicki minja silent shade for jennifer lopez 2015 gossipThe big event for the stars Sunday night was the 2015 American Music Awards. Unfortunately, the award show turned into yet another opportunity for Nicki Minaj to get herself into somewhat of a feud with a fellow artist.

On Sunday night, Jennifer Lopez opened the show with an intricate, lengthy dance routine. During her performance, J.Lo danced along to numerous hits including Minaj’s “Anaconda.”

While the majority of viewers praised Jennifer’s hard work and talent, Nicki was caught giving major side eye to Lopez as she danced along to her hit song. Unfortunately, the camera caught Nicki seemingly throwing shade at Jen and soon after the Internet erupted as people called Minaj out on the whole situation.

Numerous people took to Twitter to call out the “Starships” singer for being sassy towards Lopez.

However not too long after, Nicki attempted to clear the air and responded back to a fan saying, “lol says what all? I’m looking at my own face on the screen when I’m looking to the right, I turn bak & look @ her.”

Nonetheless, viewers couldn’t help but speculate some hate from Nicki towards Jen, as she isn’t one to stray away from expressing her true feelings (i.e. Miley Cyrus at the VMAs).

kylie jenner tyga still off 2015 gossipWhile Kylie Jenner and Tyga were doing everything they could to look like a couple after the American Music Awards, sources close to the couple are adamant that the two split last week.

After the awards show, Kylie and Tyga were seen heading over to Justin Bieber’s after-party. In addition, Kylie purposely clung on to Tyga as they left the party later in the night.

A source tells E! News, “This is not the first time or the last that Kylie and Tyga will breakup to makeup. Kylie and Tyga’s age difference does add a bit of pressure to the relationship. Tyga is a father and has more relationship experience than Kylie; she’s still growing up.”

Another source tells E! that Tyga had to go to some great lengths to mend things with Kylie. They reveal, “Tyga was sending her flowers and telling her she means everything to him, and he would not take no as an answer. They do argue a lot and are dramatic but for now they are back together…”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like fans will get too much more insight into the slight blip in the two stars’ relationship, as they are already back on track.

In addition, it seems as though Kylie was feeling extra forgiving on Sunday, as she was also photographed with her arm wrapped around singer Nicki Minaj. Earlier in the year, Nicki was seen in her music video wearing a shirt that said “Pervert 17” on the front, which was speculated to be referring to Tyga’s relationship with Kylie, who was just 17 at the time.

Jon Jones’ New Body & Better UFC Fights: MMA Weekly Recap

0

jon jones new body better ufc fights 2015 mma imagesWeekly MMA Breakdown: Interesting Announcements, Better Fights

This week contained a bunch of news—and fights—that MMA fans certainly enjoyed. Let’s take a look at the announcements and bouts of the MMA world this week (11-15—11-22)!

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones excited quite a few of his fans—and detractors—with an Instagram post that showed his evidently improved physique, as well as a potential return date to the Octagon: April 23rd.

Although many fans are scoffing at the rematch now, Cormier vs. Jones 2 is actually a very solid fight and one that will undeniably be a difficult task for both men.

It’ll be good to see Bones competing again soon—let’s just hope he stays out of trouble and legally compliant outside of the cage, as the next straw will likely be the one that breaks the camel’s back.

Bellator Makes Exciting Announcements

As was mentioned last week, Bellator unveiled plans to hold a show in London next year, and it turns out the promotion has even more territorial expansion planned. In addition to the London card, Bellator announced that it would hold bouts in Italy and Israel in 2016.

This is an exciting development for Bellator and its fighters, as well as the fans in the listed locations. Moreover, the move is strategically beneficial, as the UFC has yet to bring cards to either Italy or Israel.

The promotion also announced several intriguing bouts.

Instead of fighting each other, veterans Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley will battle different opponents in the main and co-main events of Bellator 148 on January 29th.

Koscheck will battle Matt Secor while Daley will lock horns with Andy Uhrich. The promotion’s intentions are clear, in setting up the rematch between Koscheck and Daley, but neither man is a lock to win their fight. Uhrich may be able to give Daley a hard time, but Secor—who is currently riding a three-fight win streak—may very well secure the victory.

It appears to be an unnecessarily risky move by Bellator to further promote the Daley-Koscheck 2 fight.

The promotion also announced even more exciting fights, including:

The explosive Brian Rogers battling the durable and exciting Virgil Zwicker at Bellator 147 (on the main card). Also on the Bellator 147 main card, undefeated lightweight Adam Piccolotti will compete against the dangerous Team Alpha Male product, Mario Soto.

Finally, Bellator 147 was completed by the announcement of its main event, Pitbull vs. Anderson 2. During his three-fight-skid a few years back, Patricky Pitbull lost an upset decision to the then-undefeated Derek Anderson. Now better-than-ever, the two will lock horns yet again, in a surprisingly well-made bout.

The UFC Announces Two Solid Fights

Although the fight announcements made by the UFC (during this week) weren’t quite as plentiful as those made by Bellator, the contests that the promotion did reveal certainly are awesome.

First, Dennis Bermudez and Maximo Blanco were announced to compete on January 17th, at UFC Fight Night: Cruz vs. Dillashaw in Boston. Both explosive and exciting—and in Blanco’s case, entirely unpredictable—athletes, the two should put on an interesting fight.

Also, UFC 195 (headlined by Carlos Condit and Robbie Lawler) was complemented with the addition of the talented Brian Ortega battling the TUF 14-winner, Diego Brandao. It may not get the press that it deserves, but this is an extremely interesting match.

Bellator 146 Delivers Excitement, Brutal Finishes

An exciting and explosive overall card, Bellator 146 delivered for the fans attending live in Oklahoma, as well as those watching on television.

The main event featured the always-dangerous Melvin Manhoef slugging it out with fearless fellow-striker, Hisaki Kato.

Kato chose to remain on the feet against Mahoef, despite the fact that “No Mercy” has sent quite a few opponents out of the cage on stretchers as a result of his devastating power. Kato achieved some impressive success on the feet, and for a while, it appeared as though his strategy was a good one.

Until Manhoef, who appeared to be hurt, landed a vicious left hook—ending the fight, as well as his two-fight losing streak.

Amidst talks of retirement from the fans, Manhoef proved that he’s still a dangerous and able competitor. Moreover, both he and Kato bring it every time they step into the cage, and it really will be a pleasure to watch them compete in the future.

In the co-main event, Brandon Girtz devastated Derek Campos early into their fight, securing the victory via knockout. It was quick and explosive, and in avenging his earlier loss to Campos—especially when his previous win over Melvin Guillard is considered—Girtz has successfully demonstrated that he really is a new-and-improved fighter who fans will need to keep an eye on.

WSOF’s Eight-Man, One-Night Lightweight Tournament Excites

In terms of MMA fight results and injuries, the tournament could have gone smoother for WSOF, but nevertheless, it sure was fun to watch.

As Mike Ricci and Islam Mamedov (a Tristar athlete and TUF runner-up, and training partner of Khabib Nurmagomedov, respectively) secured wins in the first round of the tournament but were injured while doing so, they withdrew from the remainder of the night’s fights.

Accordingly, two men who lost their opening bouts—Brian Foster via submission, and Jorge Patino via decision (yes, the same Patino who competed against Pat Miletich in 1999!)—were able to re-enter the tournament. Thankfully for the fans, as well as the WSOF, the Arizona Athletic Commission was more-than-lenient in its medical suspensions and limitations for the fighters.

The excitement reached its peak in the tournament finals when Brian Foster—who impressively defeated Luis Palomino in his tournament re-entry—squared off with the man who submitted him initially, Joao Zeferino. This time, however, the American remained calm and explosive, avoiding the heel hook and securing the knockout win.

Certainly, all of the tournament competitors deserve the fans’ respect, especially those who re-entered the tournament after losing decisively in the same night!

It’s hard to say if we’ll get to see another one-night tournament like this, but it can be generally agreed that it was fun to watch this time around.

UFC Mexico Crowns TUF Winners, Has Exciting Main Event

Complementing the weekend’s exciting action, UFC Mexico was a solid all-around card.

In the first TUF final there wasn’t any question of the winner, as Enrique Barzola convincingly dominated Horacio Gutierrez. Barzola’s superior wrestling and ground skills allowed him to nab the victory—and the TUF Lightweight Title—without much danger.

The other TUF final bout between Erick Montano and Enrique Marin wasn’t quite so clear-cut. The two welterweights—who are also close friends—battled to a close split-decision verdict, with Montano securing two of the judges’ approval, as well as the TUF title.

The co-main and main event really picked the card up in terms of excitement and overall energy.

In his featherweight debut, longtime competitor and TUF 1-winner Diego Sanchez excited fans and demonstrated his warrior spirit yet again, but was unable to achieve any sizable success against the elite Ricardo Lamas. Lamas’ well-mixed arsenal of strikes and takedowns, along with his ability to remain disciplined and keep some distance between himself and Sanchez, allowed him to grab the unanimous-decision victory.

The co-main event was an ultra-close and very exciting bout between the TUF 17-winner Kelvin Gastelum and the last-minute replacement (and ever-improving fighter) Neil Magny.

Magny secured a good deal of early success in the grappling department, and just when it appeared as though he was on his way to cruising to a decision victory, Gastelum landed some cracking shots on the feet.

Magny was dropped with strikes twice in the fourth round, entering into survival mode (successfully). He then went on to likely lose the fifth and final round, allowing the fight’s decision to depend entirely upon the scoring of the third round (10-9 or 10-8).

In the end, Magny secured the split decision, demonstrating through his performance that he’s an outstanding and ever-improving athlete. The fight was close, but will do well to remind fans of just how far Magny has come in terms of skills and abilities. That and that Kelvin Gastelum can never be counted out of a fight!

The week was solid for MMA fight announcements but even better for actual fights. Hopefully, next week will provide just as much exciting action!

Premier League Soccer Transfer Rumors for January 2016

0

premier league soccer transfer rumors 2015 andriy yarmolenko bulge imagesThe January transfer window is just about a month away, and several players have been linked with a move to the major Premier League outfits. The traditional powerhouses Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United are doing well in the league but are still eyeing reinforcements in the winter window. Whereas, reigning English champions Chelsea are inexplicably struggling to find their rhythm this term and find themselves closer to the relegation zone than the Premier League top four. Despite the appointment of Jurgen Klopp at the helm, there has been no sudden change in the fortunes of Liverpool as they sit in the middle of the league table.

Chelsea saw the arrival of Baba Rahman and Pedro Rodriguez in the summer transfer window, but the former Barcelona forward has failed to sparkle in his brief spell so far, whereas Baba is still looking to get a series of games. Jose Mourinho is looking to add to his side’s strengths, and the Blues have been linked with Ukraine attacker Andriy Yarmolenko. Mourinho was spotted during a recent friendly between Ukraine and Spain presumably to scout the player. Meanwhile, he might also struggle to keep hold of Eden Hazard, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Thomas Muller in the summer, but couldn’t get the Bayern Munich stalwart. Muller later acknowledged that the Premier League salaries are a big attraction, and it remains to be seen if the Red Devils remain keen on rekindling their interest in the attacker. Their estranged goalkeeper Victor Valdes, who has been frozen out of the first-team action, has been linked with a slew of clubs in Spain as well as in Turkey, and he may as well be on his way out of Old Trafford after a bitter one-year spell.

Manchester City looks to be the strongest contenders for the league title as they sit atop the standings. They acquired the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Otamendi in the summer and with a plethora of resources in their ranks, they do not need to do much business in the summer; however, with their deep pockets nothing can be ruled out.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is not a big fan of the winter transfer window and has historically shown restraint in not bringing in new faces into his dressing room at the start of a new year. The Gunners do need to add a defensive midfielder in case Francis Coquelin suffers any injury, and they are left short of a viable replacement. They have also been linked with a move for Karim Benzema and may target the Frenchman in the winter window.

Klopp inherited a Brendan Rodgers’ side and, having spent some time with them, he may be interested in adding some new players to his squad. Lazar Markovic has been linked with a return from his loan spell and long-term injuries to Danny Ings and Joe Gomez may force the German to bring in some reinforcements.

La Liga Soccer Transfer Rumors for January 2016

0

la liga transfer rumors 2015 soccer imagesBarcelona are sitting atop the league table, but their league standings belie the thinness of their squad as they struggle with injuries to several of their first team regulars. Their inability to register players in their squad in the summer, owing to a FIFA-imposed ban due to transfer infractions has severely handicapped them. However, the sanction will be lifted in January, and the Catalan giants may use the opportunity to shore up their injury-depleted squad.

Celta Vigo forward Nolito has been linked with the club for a long time and may finally sign on the dotted line for his former side and take up the place vacated by the transfer of Pedro Rodriguez. Everton youngster John Stones, who was targeted by Chelsea in the summer, has also been on the radar of Luis Enrique’s side. They have also been linked with another Chelsea target, the Ukraine international, Andriy Yarmolenko.

Real Madrid are just three points shy of Barcelona and have also endured injury issues like their hated rivals. They have also been beset by the off-field infractions of Karim Benzema as the forward has been questioned by the French police. If rumours are to be believed, the France international will be sold if found guilty. His departure may see the club sign a high-profile forward to fill in the void left by the Frenchman.

A return for Alvaro Morata has been mooted while Sergio Aguero has also been reported to be on the radar of the Spanish giants. Robert Lewandowski’s agent has denied being contacted by Real Madrid for his client, but Rafael Benitez’s side have been reported to be interested in the forward for a long time. Their summer target, David de Gea subsequently signed a long-term contract with Manchester United and is unlikely to make a move to his hometown. Meanwhile, Real Madrid youngster Raphael Varane is being eyed by the Red Devils.

Atletico Madrid did extensive business in the summer window and brought in the likes of Luciano Vietto, Jackson Martinez and Filipe Luis to the Vicente Calderon. However, their star man, Antoine Griezmann has been reported to be on the radar of Chelsea, and they may part company with the France international if the Blues make a serious offer for the forward. Diego Costa has failed to replicate his form of last season at Stamford Bridge and has been linked with a move back to Diego Simeone’s side, although his transfer looks difficult to go through, owing to his woeful form.

Valencia star Sofiane Feghouli has earned admiration from several Premier League teams and may make his way to Old Trafford in the winter, whereas Aymen Abdennour has also been reported to be on the radar of Chelsea.

Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has long been linked with a move to Arsenal. However, he recently inked a long-term deal with Unai Emery’s side, and the Gunners will require shelling out a substantial amount of money to prise him away. Ever Banega has also been reported to have attracted the attention of Manchester City.

Adele’s ’25’ Already Breaking Record Set By ‘NSYNC: Has Top Selling 2015 Album In Three Days

adeles 25 already breaking records 2015 gossipTaylor Swift’s blockbuster ‘1989’ album has sold 5.4 million copies in about a year’s time, but Adele has sold nearly half that many in just three days already making her ’25’ the best-selling album of 2015. What a holiday treat for her, but her legions of fans have had the biggest treat as nearly every song is virtually perfect. That’s saying a lot as many artists still focus on popping out hit singles quickly, but Adele took her time with her third album making sure it was the best it could be. The record industry knew her third album would be a whopper, but ’25’ has surpassed everyone’s wildest dreams

Adele’s new album “25” has sold more than 2.3 million copies in the United States alone during its first three days on the market, a stunning number for a music industry that has seen sales steadily fall in the digital era.

To put that into perspective, only Taylor Swift’s “1989,” (released late last year) Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” (released in April) and Ed Sheeran‘s “x” (in June 2014) have sold as much as one million copies all year so far. Adele’s disc went on sale Friday.

Nielsen Music said Monday that Adele will almost certainly break the one-week record for album sales, set by ‘NSYNC in 2000 with 2.4 million for “No Strings Attached.”

“There isn’t anybody that I’ve talked to in the music business who hasn’t been astonished by these numbers,” said Dave Bakula, senior vice president for industry insights at Nielsen.

Adele’s previous album, 2011’s “21,” has sold 11.24 million copies in the United States; it’s likely many of the people who sought out the new one this weekend haven’t bought an album since. Adele also did not allow streaming services like Spotify to make “25” available, so people anxious to hear it had to buy it.

She performed the first single “Hello” on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend. That track alone has sold 2.5 million copies in the four weeks it has been on the market.

The initial sales are a boost for an industry that has drastically changed over the past decade. In contrast to the four albums that have topped one million in sales this year, there were 88 such discs in 2000, the year ‘N Sync had its big opening, Nielsen said (Sales records date to 1991, when then-SoundScan started keeping track of first-week sales).

Adele is also leaving Swift in the dust. Her “1989” sold 1.3 million its first week on sale last year, the fastest seller in some time, and Bakula said Adele’s disc is likely to finish the week with more than twice that number sold.

The British singer taped a concert special at New York’s Radio City Music Hall last week that is scheduled to air on Dec. 14 at 10 p.m. ET.

Before she performed on “Saturday Night Live,” a skit on the show spoke to her wide-ranging popularity. In the skit, a family was squabbling over politics at a Thanksgiving Day dinner, but when a girl put “Hello” on the stereo, everyone stopped arguing to sing along.

Khloe Kardashian Still Fighting Her Staff & Diddy’s Birthday Blowout

Khloe Kardashian continues to fight off a staph infection, which was most likely contracted while visiting Lamar Odom at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Although the staff at Cedars-Sinai state that their incidence with staph infections is lower than the national average, they do acknowledge that Khloe could have very well gotten the condition while visiting Lamar.

Unfortunately, the illness forced the star to cancel a few appearances she was scheduled to be making to promote her new book, Strong Looks Better Naked. The star has spoken out about her condition, explaining that it is even more serious in her case because of the stress she has been under. Khloe explained that the infection was “exuberated by stress.”

On Sunday morning, the reality star was heading to the doctors, but, unfortunately, had some issues with the paparazzi. On Twitter, Khloe revealed that some of the paparazzi were driving extremely dangerously around her, just to snap some pictures.

Khloe tweeted, “What scum paps are!!! I am on my way to an infectious disease doctor, and they cut me off while driving, run red lights, tailing me for pictures. They make it even more difficult for me to drive when I’m already as weak as it is. How f***ing disgusting.”

sean diddy combs birthday party 2015 gossip

This weekend, the big party that had countless stars turn up was Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 46th birthday. The event was held in Beverly Hills and was presented by Ciroc Vodka, which happens to be partially owned by Diddy.

Not only did Diddy celebrate his birthday, but he also used the celebration to promote Ciroc’s latest product, Apple Vodka. Sources at the party claim that the rapper told a story about his mother baking apple pies for him when he was younger and how that resonates with the fact that Apple is his favorite flavor of the vodka. In addition, it has been reported that Diddy was presented with a 29-inch apple pie as his “birthday cake.”

Some of the biggest stars came out to Diddy’s soiree, including Jay-Z and Beyonce. There were also some more awkward combinations of attendees, including supermodel Gigi Hadid and her ex Joe Jonas, who came separately.

In addition, much of the Kardashian-Jenner clan attended, including Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kourtney Kardashian. Tyga was also at the event, which made some waves, as it had been recently reported that his girlfriend Kylie Jenner broke up with him. However, earlier Kylie seemingly shot down these claims with a SnapChat showing her and Tyga together. Nonetheless, the couple did not have any telling run-ins at the party, as Kylie opted to stay in and have a pre-Thanksgiving dinner with her friends.

10 Ways to Improve Your Shot at Millions in Daily Fantasy Football

10 Ways to Improve Your Shot at Millions in Daily Fantasy Football 2015 imagesBad news. You are not likely to win a million dollars on FanDuel or on DraftKings. The sheer odds are stacked against you worse than a Tom Brady, Gronk, Edelman combo against the Jags before #11 went down with a broken wheel.

The major DFS sites love to run TV spots that promote their biggest contests. It’s just better marketing to dangle a million dollar carrot as opposed to promoting contests that you can enter for $1 and win a dollar. I don’t get excited by “Steve” who has won just $349 in 2015 on DraftKings, but seeing “Chad” rake in $1,000,000 definitely gets my attention even though I know it’s a long shot for me to end up on one of those commercials.

Your chances of making money consistently in daily fantasy football don’t lie in big money tourneys with nearly 400,000 opponents. A better strategy is to play head to heads and 50/50 contests.

Doing lots of research, studying the structure of the contests themselves, and feeding off lessons from the industry sharks’ lineups should make you good enough to beat the average Joes that keep signing up to have their money ripped from them.

All that effort seems a bit much for most folks that have real jobs with real families that would like dad to spend time with them. So most daily fantasy players are not going to put in the work to be in the top 85% of users. And people are generally lazy to boot.

Most DFS players just use expert opinions or simply use their gut to pick a lineup each week. They either think it’s that simple or are just playing for the hell of it. Either way, you can benefit by really studying the game of fantasy football.

If you’re not into that kind of effort either, then by all means sign up for the big money contests on DraftKings, FanDuel, or any site with enough of a carrot to draw you in. You can get in contests that pay a million dollars to the top spot for about $20, and you can also get in decent sized pots for under $5.

You may just get lucky with a one-time hit that helps you pay some bills or gives you enough cash to buy some Christmas gifts.

So for you that want to dive into an ocean of opponents to see if you can hit the lottery of fantasy sports, I’m here to help. I am no Jonathan Bales or Drew Dinkmeyer. These guys are pros. I am still learning. That doesn’t mean I don’t know how to think outside the box. That my friend is how you win a big money pot.

You have to separate yourself from the field. If you choose all the normal players that “should” perform well, then you may do OK and even win a few bucks here and there. But to get anywhere near the top prize in a huge field of users, you have to do everything you can to differentiate yourself from every other guy who considers himself a football genius.

Daily Fantasy Football Tips

Here are ten ways to set your fantasy football lineup apart from the masses when it comes to winning huge tournaments up to a million dollars. This is one time you don’t want to fit in with the crowd. If you’re roster sticks out like a sore thumb, then you’re on the right track.

10. Don’t read any expert advice when setting a lineup that is supposed to beat other people reading the same thing. I trust a lot of the DFS industry experts for help with my H2Hs and 50/50 games, but why would I choose players that at least half of my opponents are likely to roster?

9. Analyze past million dollar winners’ lineups. Look for a theme. Look for the hidden gem. Don’t pay attention to the actual players. That won’t matter on a week by week basis. Matchups change, salaries change, and game flow changes. Look for why the structure of the lineup worked.

Did the winner do something off the wall like use a TE at the flex spot or a kicker on the worst team in the NFL? Maybe he picked a QB who was questionable all week until game time, which would make his ownership much lower than normal.

8. Team up with a buddy who’s a whiz with numbers but watches so little football, people question his manhood. This buddy who likely wears cardigan sweaters will be able to see things with the stats that you are blind to because you:

  • have a man crush on Tom Brady.
  • want to steal Gronk’s DNA to make a super baby with your wife.
  • have a map to Pete Carroll‘s home in case he tries that BS slant in another Super Bowl.

Two heads are better than one, especially when your head is full of a lifetime of football info that is half game knowledge and half off the field drama.

7. Set a Bizarro roster. Do a third of your roster in reverse. Set up part of your fantasy team with starters you think will score the fewest points this week. What could it hurt? How many other players are going to do that? Better yet, draft players that are picked by experts to have really bad weeks.

Remember, the point isn’t to score the most points. Trying to that just keeps you at the middle of the pack. The point is to be the outlier that somehow beats 383,000 other guys who are looking to quit their 9-5 jobs too.

6. Read some weird futuristic science articles. See if that opens your mind up to new possibilities with DFS. Maybe seeing the theory of having your consciousness downloaded to a computer after your body wears out will give you a clue about how to find a decent tight end not named Gronkowski.

5. Try setting your lineup when you are about seven beers in. If sober drafting has yielded you middle of the pack finishes in the Millionaire Maker, then what’s the harm in running your fantasy team like Jim Irsay?

4. Take time away from playing fantasy football. It may give you a fresh mind for when you get back to the game. It may sound silly, but spending many hours each week on all this data can really burn you out.

3. Use the 80 /20 rule to help you weed out the unnecessary when constructing lineups. If 80% of your efforts are similar to the average fantasy player, then up the 20% of your efforts that are possibly going to set you apart.

2. Find articles, movies, and books about outliers. To win a million dollars in daily fantasy sports, it is better to be an expert on the “unusual” than it is to be an expert on Vegas spreads or point projections for QBs with winds over 10 mph.

You have to become the outlier.

1. I hate to go all Phil Jackson on you, my pupils. But finding a quiet time to just sit still and study the scoring rules for your favorite DFS site will be super helpful. It’s easy to gobble up 50,000 words a week from expert articles or watch 12 hours of youtube fantasy shows.

What’s hard is really thinking about how your team will get the points needed to be atop a million dollar contest.

Sit and just look at the matchups for the upcoming games. Ignore the fantasy outlooks. Everyone else will be checking those out. Why should you? You need to separate.

Grab a freaking newspaper to gander at the upcoming games. That way you’re not staring at a schedule on ESPN only to be distracted by “cheerleader pics of the week” (Jags cheerleaders looked perfect on TNF BTW).

Be still and know what the hell is going on as 1 p.m. Sunday approaches.

If this Zen fantasy football technique sounds stupid or useless, I’ll accept that. Just let me know how many millions you’ve won doing what every other jackass is trying.

5 Options for Fixing NFL’s Broken Catch Rule

0

5 Options for Fixing NFL Catch Rule 2015 imagesWhat’s considered a catch in the NFL? That’s not a smart ass joke. It’s a serious question that the League really cannot answer.

We have seen inconsistent calls all season long as slow motion replay has made a catch into something that needs the Supreme Court to weigh in on.

All fans really want is a simple rule. I don’t think most NFL fanatics care what the rule is, as long as it is not subjective and as long as it uses common sense. We’re talking football here, not brain surgery. Let’s figure out a firm rule for what is and what is not a catch.

The main issue I have with the catch rule is that not even an expert on officiating can tell me when a catch is really a catch. I have heard Fox Sports‘ rules guru Mike Pereira sound just as confused as the average Joe when he tries to inform viewers about a catch that’s being challenged.

I have also witnessed the NFL’s VP of officiating Dean Blandino sound like a politician with his explanations of why the refs got a confusing catch ruling right.

The bottom line is that the current catch rules in the NFL are not clear. Not to the casual fan, the diehard football know it alls, or the so called officiating experts.

So how long will the NFL let this catch drama carry on? The NFL is a passer’s league so I would think it vital to start disposing of all this drama involving receptions as soon as possible. There’s no need to let this carry over to next year. If it takes an off season to get a better rule in place, then the wrong leaders are in place.

The passing game is clearly important enough make a change within the next two weeks. We do not need any catch controversies heading into the playoffs. Imagine a Super Bowl decided by one of these terrible rulings. What a disgrace it would be to have an official use a subjective ruling to decide a game between the two best teams in the NFL.

Since I am in the category of the know it all NFL fanatics, I will offer up my suggestions for fixing the NFL catch rule. I have five good options. I may not even agree with the technical aspects of each option. I am more about having a concrete rule in place instead of having the zebras use their own interpretation each week on whether a receiver maintained control or made a football move.

I’ll take any of the options below over getting pissed off every time a ref sounds like a door to door salesman as he tries to convince me that I didn’t just see a great athlete make a legal catch.

5. How about the most strict rule possible. The receiver has to get up with the ball still in his hands. The ball can’t touch the ground at all. If it does before he hands it to the ref, then no catch.

That’s pretty hardcore but at least it would be a rule that can be judged by anyone. Julio or Dez lets the ball get swiped away on the sideline by the defender, no catch. You think ball security would be taken even more seriously?

4. I’m good with requiring the receiver to simply take two steps in the open field after he makes the catch. On the sideline or the edge of the end zone, still two feet in. Full control in real time video review and two steps. Makes total sense and removes any guesswork.

3. No more video reviews on catches. That sounds insane, but what has HD slo-mo gotten us in the catch department? Just confusion. Since video review has only hurt the game when it comes to receptions, just scrap that portion of reviews.

2. I really like the idea of having a timer set on a reviewed catch. Run it in real time and if the receiver holds the ball for one full second before dropping it then it’s a freaking catch.

Defining “control” comes into play here. That’s a big issue. “Does the receiver maintain control for the full second?” Taking slow motion out of the equation makes this less of a concern.

1. Once again, no catch can be reviewed in slow motion. It has to be real time with a group of three officials required to vote within ten seconds of watching the play one time on instant replay. Any longer than ten seconds mixed with slow motion and everything starts to come into question. A catch is something that can’t be dissected for too long or frame by frame.

If two out of three officials say no catch after a quick review and vote, then I’m good with that snap judgement.

These five catch rules are not perfect. They can be held to a specific standard however. From that standpoint any one of them will be a better option than what the NFL currently has in place.

You’re welcome Blandino. I have done your job for you for free. Show some guts and insert a concrete catch rule now.

Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber Get Sexy Again While Adele Works Hunger Games

selena gomez justin bieber get sexy again 2015 gossipWhile young stars Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber ended things over a year ago, you wouldn’t have thought so after the stunt Justin pulled. On Friday night, Justin and Selena were photographed together at the bar in the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel.

While there, Justin performed his hit song “Sorry” which he admitted was written about Selena on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as well as another song. Shortly after, Justin went on to serenade Selena with a rendition of “My Girl.” Fortunately, a witness at the bar was able to capture a video and posted it to Instagram.

The woman who posted the video, Lindsey Cavanaugh, said that she briefly chatted with Justin. She went on to explain, “We asked what he was doing at [the] bar and [Justin] said [he was] meeting up with his ex.”

Justin-Selena, Instagram Video:

Prior to Justin’s impromptu performance, the young pop star was seen sitting on a couch with Selena conversing. Afterwards, the two slow danced in front of the piano, while Lionel Ritchie’s “Easy” was playing.

While witnesses claim that the two looked like they were glowing in love, they also confirmed that Justin and Selena went their separate ways after leaving the hotel bar.

adele works her hunger games with jennifer lawrence 2015 gossipAlthough both Adele and the cast from The Hunger Games are busy promoting their latest projects, they were still able to find time to hang out at New York’s Waverly Inn Restaurant on Friday Night.

Adele was spotted entering the restaurant shortly after trio Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth were seen entering.

Currently, Adele is promoting her already hugely successful album, 25, while Liam, Josh and Jennifer are finishing off their press tour for their final Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay Part II. Coincidentally, both the album and the movie were released on Friday (November 20th).

The stars all have some mutual ties, as Adele filmed promotion for her upcoming SNL stint with host Bradley Cooper, who has starred in several movies with Lawrence. In addition, Adele performed at the Radio City Music Hall on Tuesday, where Jennifer was also seen amongst many other big name celebrities.

In addition, Jennifer has previously confessed to being star struck when encountering the soulful singer at the 2013 Golden Globes. Jennifer told host Jimmy Kimmel, “Adele was at the table, it was the next table over, and I had such a high fever and I felt like I couldn’t move and I saw Adele and there was nobody in the way and she was sitting at the table by herself and I was sitting with my dad. And I just reached my arm out and went ‘Uhh…’ And my dad was like, ‘Jen, what’s the matter?’ ‘It’s Adele. It’s Adele, right there.’”

Hopefully, this encounter went a lot better than the last time Jennifer was in close vicinity of the star. Nevertheless, definitely a star-studded dinner date!

Premier League Week 13 Soccer Review

premier league week 13 soccer review 2015 imagesPremier League resumed after the international break when Manchester United visited Vicarage Road to take on Watford. The Red Devils went ahead courtesy of a Memphis Depay goal in the first half. The hosts pulled one back through a Troy Deeney spot kick, but the Red Devils snatched all three points from the encounter when Deeney scored an own goal in the dying moments of the game. Louis van Gaal’s men have now climbed to second in the table.

Chelsea halted their three-game losing streak when they got the better of Norwich City courtesy of a solitary strike from Diego Costa. Alex Neil’s men were in the game but lacked an imposing forward to take the half chances that came their way. The Blues will look to build upon the win and attempt to resurrect their season. They are now 15th spot in the table, moving one place up with the win.

Everton were irrepressible while Aston Villa were abject as the Merseyside outfit shellacked the Villans 4-0 at Goodison Park. Romelu Lukaku scored a brace, and Ross Barkley grabbed a double of his own to pummel Remi Garde’s men to a tenth defeat of the league season which sees them rock bottom in the league standings.

Jamie Vardy equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in ten successive Premier League games when he put Leicester City ahead near the half time mark against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday. Leonardo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki also got on the scoresheet to complete a 3-0 win for the Foxes as they climbed to the top of the Premier League table.

Former Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic scored the only goal in the game between Stoke City and Southampton at St Mary’s to help the Potters grab all three points from the encounter. The win has sent Mark Hughes’ men to 11th while Ronald Koeman’s charges are now eighth in the league standings.

A goal each from Joshua King and Dan Gosling in the first 26 minutes helped Bournemouth take a decisive advantage against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, but the Welsh outfit fought back with a strike each from Andre Ayew and Jonjo Shelvey to secure a point from the encounter with a 2-2 draw.

Arsenal slipped to a 2-1 loss against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday and with it lost the chance to go atop the league table. The Gunners went into the game on the back of a six-match unbeaten run but lost to Tony Pulis’ resilient side. More worryingly for the north Londoners’, they lost both Francis Coquelin and Mikel Arteta to injuries, leaving them woefully short of defensive midfielders as they prepare for their midweek Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb.

Liverpool were in irrepressible form as they defeated Manchester City 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium. The win moved the Reds to ninth in the table while the Citizens slipped to third.

In a London derby, West Ham United were thrashed 4-1 by Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

La Liga Week 12 Soccer Review

la liga week 12 soccer review 2015 real sociedad imagesReal Sociedad’s sacking of David Moyes has had an immediate impact on their fortunes as they defeated Sevilla – who went into the game on the back of a 3-2 defeat of Real Madrid at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Imanol Agirretxe and Xabi Prieto scored a goal apiece in the space of four minutes in the second half to help the side achieve only their third league win of the season. The Basques have now moved to 14th in the league table courtesy of the three points from Anoeta – incidentally, it was their first home win of the season.

In the biggest game of the weekend, Barcelona hammered Real Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday. The match promised to be an even encounter with Real Madrid in a position to field their full strength for the first time this season and Lionel Messi not in a position to start the game. However, it turned out to be a nightmare for the Real Madrid faithful as the Catalans ran riot at the Bernabeu and came home with a resounding win. Luis Suarez scored a brace while Neymar and Andres Iniesta grabbed one goal each to heap misery on Los Blancos, who were inexplicably weak on their home turf. The defeat has put the Madrid giants six points behind the reigning Spanish and European champions and put Rafael Benitez under immense pressure as he fights to keep his job only five months after his appointment last summer.

The other Catalan side, Espanyol, also registered a win as they overcame Malaga 2-0 at the Cornella El Prat on Saturday. Hernan Perez scored a brace for the hosts to win them all three points.

Valencia played out a 1-1 draw with newly promoted Las Palmas at the Mestalla. Paco Alcacer put Valencia ahead with an eighth-minute goal, but Las Palmas salvaged a point when Jonathan Viera grabbed an equalising goal in the second half. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are now seventh in the league table.

Deportivo La Coruna got the better of Celta Vigo in the Galician derby at the Estadio Riazor. Lucas and Jonny scored the goals for the hosts to secure a 2-0 win against their high-flying Derby rivals. Celta are in fifth while Deportivo La Coruna are eighth in the table.

Deyverson grabbed a brace and Zouhair Feddal scored once to help Levante to a 3-0 win over Sporting Gijon at the Molinon. The win has moved Levante to 19th in the table while Abelardo’s men are now 15th.

Villarreal and Eibar played out a 1-1 draw at the Madrigal on Sunday. Sergi Enrich scored the goal for the Basques while Jaume Costa grabbed a late equaliser for the hosts.

Granada registered a surprise 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao to move to 12th spot while their vanquished opponents sit ninth.

Atletico Madrid grabbed all three points from their visit to Real Betis courtesy of an early strike from Koke. The win has moved Diego Simeone’s side to second behind Barcelona and two points clear of Real Madrid, who are now third.

NBA Recap: Golden State Warriors Chase History

0

nba recap golden state warriors chase history 2015 steph curry imagesThe Golden State Warriors are all the talk in the NBA right now. Steve Kerr has his team out to an amazing 15-0 start, one that has put the Warriors within easy reach of breaking the record for best start in NBA history. Golden State, who are led by Steph Curry, need only to beat the Los Angeles Lakers, a team that is struggling horribly, in a game from Oakland on Tuesday night in order to break the record for most wins to open a season.

Curry commented on his team’s start:

“It’s a huge accomplishment,” he claimed. “Obviously, coming off a championship and taking care of business 15 straight times to start the season – couldn’t ask for a better start.”

One of the most impressive wins in the streak came in a recent outing against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors, in a game played this past Thursday, weren’t just down by double digits to the Clippers – the Warriors found themselves down by a full 23 points. If they would have coasted to a loss, then no one really would have criticized them following their amazing start. However, GS came all the way back in the game, posting a 7-point win for what amounted to a 30-point turnaround. What the victory shows is that this team has a Michael Jordan-like expectation for perfection – where losing is never acceptable and where the game is 48 minutes long no matter what the score.

At this point, Golden State holds a huge 7-game lead in the Pacific Division, with Phoenix, not the Clippers, currently holding second place. I don’t use the word “lock” in sports, but so long as Curry stays healthy, the Warriors are a near-lock to win their division. The other divisions, do not see such dominance.

For example, in the Northwest Division it was expected that OKC would be a runaway winner. Heading into this week, the Thunder are just 8-6 with every team in the division within a stone’s throw of supplanting them. In the Southwest Division, San Antonio are on a top, but they hold just a one-point lead over Dallas.

The only division leader that could be called a surprise at this point in the season is Miami, the team currently ahead in the Southeast. However, the Heat are barely ahead of the slow-start Atlanta Hawks while Cleveland and Toronto, as expected, lead the Central and Atlantic divisions respectively.

An interesting game coming up this week is, of course, the one between the Lakers and Warriors. With history on the line, the two teams will meet at 10:30 pm ET from Oakland. Cleveland and Toronto, in a battle of division leaders, will meet on Wednesday night in a game that will come from the Air Canada Centre (7:30 pm ET). Late in the week, Golden State will be in Phoenix to take on the Suns in a game where the Warriors will likely be looking to extend their record (9:30 pm ET on Friday).
