Premier League Game Week 4 Review: United, Liverpool & Chelsea lose

0

premier league week 4 manchester city vs watford soccer 2015 imagesManchester City are now the only team in the Premier League with a perfect record in their opening four matches. Pellegrini’s men defeated the newly promoted Watford 2 – 0 at the Etihad, courtesy of goals from Sterling and Fernandinho.

As things stand, the Citizens look the most dominant side in the Premier League. The other teams who finished inside top four last season are yet to grab momentum. The international break would certainly be welcomed by the managers of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United. These three teams along with Arsenal need build momentum to stay in contention for the title and Champions League spots.

Jose Mourinho’s men suffered a humiliating 1 – 2 loss to Crystal Palace at the Stamford Bridge. Alan Pardew’s men were too good for the reigning champions as Sako and Ward’s goals gave Mourinho a lot to ponder about in the break. According to Bet365, Crystal Palace were 6/1 to beat the Blues which is why it was one of the profitable bets of the weekend.

After the loss, Mourinho congratulated the Eagles. He said, “Congratulations to Crystal Palace. It’s a fantastic result for them and was a very good performance from them. I think we didn’t deserve to lose but I think Palace gave us a very difficult game and for me the result should have been a draw which would still be a bad result for us. But I think we did enough not to lose, we’ve had very good opportunities, we had a huge penalty when it was 0-0, but Crystal Palace played very well.”

Liverpool were decimated 3 – 0 at home by Slaven Bilic’s West Ham. Lanzini, Noble and Sakho scored one each for the Hammers which raises more questions to Brendan Rodgers’ future at the Merseyside based club. West Ham were 7/1 to win the game at Anfield according to Bet365, hence it would have reaped huge profit for the bidder favoring a West Ham win.

“You saw Arsenal, who are terrific on the ball, lose 2-0 at home to West Ham,” Brendan Rodgers said in the post match interview. “All teams will be looking at ways to beat that block.

“There will be lots of games like that so we have to find a way on the training field in order to develop that patience, work the ball and exploit it.

“There is a long way to go yet. We will learn from it, we always analyse every game.

“You have to be better and you want to be better in your next game.”

West Ham’s Mark Noble and Liverpool’s Coutinho got sent off by the match referee and they’ll miss their next matches in the Premier League. Coutinho’s absence against Manchester United, twelve days later, can prove costly to the Anfield based club.

Manchester United threw away a 1 – 0 lead against Garry Monk’s Swansea City. Louis van Gaal was criticized for his first loss of the season and his third defeat against Swansea. The Dutch manager has went on a selling spree and he is keen to make up for all the reparations before the transfer window closes.

Arsenal won 1 – 0 against Newcastle United with Coloccini scoring an own goal to the delight of Arsene Wenger. The Gunners are also struggling and they’d need a consistent goal scorer as the season progresses.

Big cleaning house at Manchester United

0

cleaning house at manchester united soccer 2015 imagesManchester United boss Louis van Gaal has gone on a selling spree after their first loss of the season against Garry Monk’s Swansea City.

The Dutch manager had already offloaded a lot of players from the Manchester United line-up which he inherited from David Moyes. LVG has brought in Memphis Depay, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Darmian and Romero to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window. It is believed that the 63-year-old is looking to add in two more players to his squad. Keylor Navas from Real Madrid is set to replace David de Gea, who is going in the opposite direction. Navas is a quality goalkeeper and he could prove to be a decent substitution for the Spaniard. Either of Victor Valdes or Sergio Romero can be given the number 2 spot at Old Trafford.

The French footballer Anthony Martial was quite an unknown figure in world football but in 24 hours time he has become a very popular player. This is what a connection to the most popular brand in football does to you. Martial has been playing trade in Ligue 1 at Monaco. The highly rated 19 year old is set to join the Red Devils and it is believed that a confirmation will soon be made by the club as soon as the medical is complete. The transfer fee is believed to be a whopping 36 million pounds.

Manchester United have sold Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen in order to create space for the Frenchman. Chicharito’s performance against Club Brugge in the Champions League play off is believed to be the main reason for the offloading of the player. Van Gaal sent Hernandez on a loan to Real Madrid to give more chances to the likes of Falcao, Van Persie and Rooney. The Mexican striker can certainly thrive at Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga as it is a comparatively weaker league to the Premier League.

The striker told Bayer Leverkusen’s official website: “I know the English Premier League and the Primera Division in Spain, two of the three major European leagues. Now I want to experience the Bundesliga.

“It’s wonderful that I get to play for a club like Bayer Leverkusen. It’s a great opportunity for me and I want to achieve something here.”

Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director Rudi Voller told their club website: “With ‘Chicharito’, we have more possible variations and we’ll be more unpredictable. He’s a lively, agile and fast striker who is strong, has a good technique and a very good record. I am delighted that he has chosen to join Bayer Leverkusen. The Bundesliga can look forward to seeing a great player.”

Chicharito isn’t the only United player to leave the club for the German league. Adnan Januzaj will be joining the German giants, Borussia Dortmund but the only difference will be that the Belgian will return to England after a one year loan spell. It is also believed that another youngster, Wilson, will be heading to a Premier League on season long role as Van Gaal is looking to bring sign more players on the deadline day.

Chris Borland Doesn’t Trust the NFL & Attacks Football As A Sport

0

chris borland not trusting nfl attacks football 2015You may remember the name Chris Borland from a little early in the year. The former San Francisco 49ers linebacker retired after his rookie season citing fears of brain damage as the primary reason for stepping away from the game.

Well, he’s back (kind of), throwing more dirt on the NFL and the game of football in general in an ESPN interview.

It all started with one of the NFL’s classic “random” drug tests in April. Usually the league sends you a pee cup after a great performance the week before (or in kicker Pat McAfee’s case, after laying out a return man), but Borland had been out of the game for about a month when he received the request.

Apparently the NFL holds the right to test you even after you’ve retired, just in case a player tries to Brett Favre his way out of it every time they attempted to watch him pee.

Well, Borland wasn’t having it. He knew he couldn’t say no and cast a shadow of doubt over his short career, but he also had a legitimate fear that the league would lie about his drug test, probably in an attempt to discredit him moving forward.

“I don’t really trust the NFL,” Borland put it simply and straightforwardly.

Borland was so skeptical of the league’s motives, he actually went out and hired an independent firm to drug test him. Both tests came back negative.

“I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist. I just wanted to be sure.”

Now while I agree that Roger Goodell is probably plotting something, and you can’t trust him as far as Tim Tebow can throw him right handed, Borland went on to rag on the game of football as a whole going as far as to call it “dehumanizing.”

“Dehumanizing sounds so extreme, but when you’re fighting for a football at the bottom of the pile, it is kind of dehumanizing. It’s like a spectacle of violence, for entertainment, and you’re the actors in it. You’re complicit in that: You put on the uniform. And it’s a trivial thing at its core. It’s make-believe, really. That’s the truth about it.”

That’s a little far, Mr. Borland.

Sure, football can be a violent sport. No one is going to deny that. But, at the same time, it’s not boxing. The violence is not the main focus of the sport.

The main issue that I take with Borland’s statements is that it paints all football players as actors, like this is their job. Yes, they get paid to play football, but to the majority of players, it’s is also a lifetime of passion that goes into their play each week. Obvious exceptions include Jay Cutler.

But aside from Cutler and other players that look like they’re just out there for the check, these men are playing the game they love. The only difference between them playing on Sundays now and the kids playing tackle football at the local playground are the thousands of screaming fans.

Football is entertaining. Just like basketball, baseball, and even boxing. We love watching sports just like we love playing them because we love admiring greatness and the product of natural talent and years of hard work and dedication. No one just ends up of a 53-man roster on accident.

So, Mr. Borland, you may have a good point to make, but you aren’t communicating it well. These players are out there for themselves, for fun, and for the spirit of competition just as much as they are out there for entertainment purposes.

I’m sure you can relate to what I’m saying. Well, at least you could have at one point.

Fashion Police Kinda Back & Britney Shears Shares Virgin With Kesha

fashion police relaunched nene leakes 2015 gossipAfter a long hiatus, Fashion Police finally returned to the E! Network. Its return followed the controversial exiting of both hosts Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne.

The show has had its fair share of controversy over the past while, after Kelly left following the scandal surrounding Giulianna and her racist remarks about singer Zendaya’s dreadlocks. Kelly was very public about being upset with her former friend Giulianna and her comments. Shortly after, Kelly abruptly quit the show as their friendship deteriorated.

In addition, Kathy Griffin had her fair share of scandal, as she was criticized for her performance on the show. Kathy was the replacement for the late Joan Rivers; however, many didn’t feel she was a good fit for the comedic talk show. Among her critics was Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers, who was upset and felt that Kathy had tarnished her mother’s show’s reputation.

Despite all of the drama, the show returned with Melissa Rivers hosting, joined by Giulianna Rancic and Brad Goreski. Also joining the regular panel, was comedian Margaret Chow and Real Housewife Nene Leakes.

The first show centered in on the recent fashion showcased at the MTV VMAs on Sunday.

“Well honestly, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t personally see something and think, ‘What would my mom say about this?’” Melissa Rivers said, before introducing the show’s new segment “What Would Joan Say.” She then pulled up a picture of Justin Bieber, prompting NeNe Leakes, Giuliana Rancic, Margaret Cho and Brad Goreski to weigh in on his now-flowing locks with quips obviously penned by staff writers.

The show was not afraid to address the drama head on, as it opened with Melissa cleaning up “old messes,” as she held up violet and red pieces of hair (notably the colors of Kelly and Kathy’s tresses).

“Tweet us with the hashtag #WWJS and we might just use your joke next week,” Melissa said at the end of the What Would Joan Say segment, adding, “And you know what, this is so exciting, even celebrities are getting in on it.” The camera then cut to Frankie Grande screaming unintelligibly, in an unintended but true moment of hilarity.

britney spearks kesha on jane the virgin show 2015 gossipCW’s Jane the Virgin is gearing up for a big season.

Kesha tweeted her excitement for the guest spot, saying:

Kesha, Twitter post:

La Liga Game Week 2 Review: Roberto Soldado enjoying return

0

la liga soccer week 2 roberto soldado return 2015 imagesThe second match week of La Liga kicked off at the Madrigal where Villarreal hosted Catalan outfit Espanyol. The Yellow Submarine have acquired Roberto Soldado after his two forgettable seasons at Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League, but the forward is enjoying his return to the Spanish league and it was reflected in his performance when he scored his team’s first goal in the 67th minute. By the final whistle, Soldado had added two assists to his name as well to help Villarreal run away 3-1 winners.

After a scoreless draw against Sporting Gijon, Real Madrid came all guns blazing in their second match and ran away 5-0 winners over Real Betis. Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez scored a brace each, while Karim Benzema scored his team’s other goal.

At the top end of the table, Barcelona registered their second successive 1-0 win as a strike from Thomas Vermaelen settled the affair in the Catalan team’s favour. The match remained scoreless at half time and with Malaga goalkeeper Carlos Kameni in stellar form, it appeared as if the hosts would drop their first points of the campaign at the Camp Nou, but their perseverance paid off as Vermaelen found the back of the net in the second half.

One of the surprising things about the early season is the fact that neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal so far.

Atletico Madrid also registered their second successive win as they headed into the international break. Los Rojiblancos put up a stellar display against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan against Unai Emery’s men and a goal each from Koke, Gabi and close season arrival Jackson Martinez was enough for Diego Simeone’s side to collect all three points.

David Moyes’ Real Sociedad were held to a scoreless draw by newly-promoted Sporting Gijon, who had frustrated Real Madrid in their opening league fixture. Other La Liga new boys Las Palmas also played out a scoreless draw against Levante on Sunday.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s Valencia, who have recently made their way to the group stage of the Champions League after defeating Monaco in the playoffs, were held by Deportivo La Coruna to a 1-1 draw, whereas Granda handed a 2-1 defeat to Getafe.

In what has been the story of the early season, Eibar, who were relegated last season only to be reinstated due to Elche’s financial troubles, defeated their illustrious Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao and stand second in the league standings heading into the international break.

Celta Vigo are the early league leaders after they followed up their 2-1 win over Levante in the opening weekend with a 3-0 win over Madrid outfit Rayo Vallecano. With a +4 goal difference, the Galicians are the early La Liga leaders and have been greatly helped by scintillating form of former Barcelona player Nolito, who has continued his heroics from the past season and has netted twice as well as registered one assist so far.

Bundesliga Game Week 3 Review: A Noticeably Absent Kevin de Bruyne

0

bundesliga week 3 kevin de bruyne absent soccer 2015Wolfsburg fielded a team sans Kevin de Bruyne against Schalke amidst speculation surrounding his future. The absence of their talismanic midfielder, who ultimately sealed his move to Premier League giants Manchester City, didn’t make much difference to their fortunes as they defeated the Royal Blues 3-0. Bas Dost, Ricardo Rodriguez and Timm Klose were on the scoresheet for the hosts as they collected all three points.

Bayern Munich continued their winning run and defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0. Thomas Muller scored a brace while Arjen Robben grabbed the third from the penalty spot to hand Bayern Munich all three points at the Allianz Arena. If early impressions are anything to go by, Pep Guardiola’s side will be hard to stop in their bid for a fourth successive league title and with the addition of Douglas Costa in their ranks they look all the more threatening.

Eintracht Frankfurt put four past a hapless VfB Stuttgart and ran way 4-1 winners at the Commerzbank Arena to register their first win of the season and climb to eighth spot in the league standings as a consequence, whereas Stuttgart are second from bottom. Hoffenheim were held to a scoreless draw by newly promoted Darmstadt, who registered their third consecutive draw.

Bundesliga new boys Ingolstadt secured a narrow 1-0 win over Augsburg to climb to seventh in the league standings, whereas Mainz collected all three points for a second successive weekend as they defeated Hannover 3-0 to occupy fifth spot.

Philipp Hosiner’s and Anthony Modeste’s second half strikes gave 1. FC Koln a 2-1 win over Hamburg, who maintained their top flight status only after surviving a playoff battle last term. The win sees the Billy Goats move to fourth in the table with two wins and a solitary draw from their first two games. Meanwhile, Hamburger are 13th in the standings with two losses and a draw against their name.

Champions League entrants Borussia Monchengladbach are enduring a difficult start to their campaign as they have lost all three of their Bundesliga outings and are lying rock-bottom in the league table. They suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss at the hands of Borussia Dortmund on the opening weekend and followed it up with a 2-1 loss to Mainz. Last weekend they suffered another 2-1 loss, this time against Werder Bremen and remain rooted to the bottom of the table. They will look to revive their season once it resumes post the international break.

A case can be made that Borussia Monchengladbach are going through the same kind of form that inflicted Borussia Dortmund last term – at least in the first half of the season. However, under Thomas Tuchel’s management, the Black and Yellows’ fortunes have completely changed and they are absolutely flying off the blocks. Dortmund have registered three league wins out of three and not just the wins, but the manner in which they have been achieved has shown that they can be legitimate challengers for the league title. They won 3-1 against Hertha Berlin at the weekend.

Serie A Game Week 2 Review: Difficult start for Juventus

0

serie a week 2 juventus milan vs empoli soccer 2015AC Milan registered their first win under Sinisa Mihajlovic’s management as they followed up a 2-0 opening weekend loss to Fiorentina with a 2-1 win over Empoli and moved to 12th spot in the standings. Their performance wasn’t entirely convincing, but they will be buoyed by the fact that their close season signings Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano were both on the scoresheet.

Sassuolo are one of the five teams in Serie A this season that have won their first two fixtures. After defeating Napoli in their first league game of the season, the Neroverdi registered a narrow 1-0 win against Bologna. After the high of beating Juventus in their opening game, Udinese were brought to the ground with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Palermo.

A goal each from Daniele Baselli, Fabio Quagliarella and Emiliano Moretti gave Torino a 3-1 win over Fiorentina which moved them to second spot in the league standings, whereas La Viola are now tenth in the table after a win and a loss each.

Napoli were beaten 2-1 by Sassuolo in their opening league fixture and after drawing 2-2 against Sampdoria, they are left looking for their first three points of the season.

Chieveo Verona thrashed Lazio 4-0 to become the surprise league leaders early in the season. They were 3-1 winners over Empoli in their opening game. Chievo’s neighbours Hellas Verona were defeated 2-0 by Genoa and have been left looking for the first win of the 2015/15 league campaign.

Following his return to Serie A, albeit on a loan deal from Manchester City, Stevan Jovetic has enjoyed resurgence in form and he put Inter Milan ahead in the 31st minute against newly-promoted Carpi. The minnows mounted a comeback and were rewarded with an 81st minute goal, but their failure to defend appropriately saw them concede a late penalty which was duly put away by Jovetic to secure all three points for the Nerazzurri.

Inter have brought in a number of players this summer and on the transfer deadline day they added Felipe Melo, Alex Telles and Adem Ljajic to their ranks to further bolster their squad. They will surely be looking for a spot in the Champions League come the season’s end.

A goal each from Alejandro Gomez and Guglielmo Stendardo gave Atalanta a 2-0 win over Serie A new boys Frosinone on Sunday in Bergamo and as a consequence of two consecutive losses Forisnone are second from bottom in the league standings. They will need to raise their game considerably if they are to prolong their stay in the top flight of the Italian football.

Juventus have endured a difficult start to their league campaign and after suffering an unexpected 1-0 defeat to Udinese on the opening weekend, they were handed a 2-1 defeat by title rivals Roma. The Old Lady are still looking for their first point of the 2015/16 campaign and after two successive losses they are lying just above the relegation zone in 17th.

A guide to PC and Laptop hard drive performance

0

guide to pc laptop hard drive tech images 2015There are many different types of hard drives available on the market today and the type of drive that you have inside of your computer or laptop can have a very noticeable effect on its performance.

The aim of this article is to provide an overview of the different types of hard drive available on the market today, what to look out for and also a guide to changing the hard drive inside your PC or laptop.

Different types of hard drive

This guide will be focusing only on the common types of hard drive and specifically on retail hard drives, ignoring enterprise options.

The first thing to keep in mind is that hard drives tend to come in two physical sizes – 2.5” drives are designed for use in laptops and 3.5” drives are designed for use with desktop computers.

In both of these physical sizes you tend to get two types of hard drives – SATA and SSD. There are other older types of drive such as IDE and there also many different options when it comes to enterprise grade drives, but we will ignore those for simplicity.

SATA Drives

Sata drives are probably the most common type of hard drive on the retail market today and you will find them inside most modern computers. SATA drives typically run at 3-6GBPS depending whether they are SATA2 or SATA3 and in addition there are several spindle speeds (5400RPM and 7200RPM) that will also affect performance.

When looking for a SATA drive you should try to go for SATA 3 and also 7200 RPM drives for optimum performance. Good brands when it comes to SATA drives include Samsung, Seagate and Western Digital.

SSD Drives

SSD or Solid State Drives are built using solid components and have no spindle like SATA drives. This makes data access much faster because the computer does not have to wait for the spindle to be rotated into position before retrieving a particular piece of data.

SSD drives are typically around 10 times as fast as SATA drives in terms of data access speeds and will make a considerable difference to both the boot time and overall performance of a PC when fitted.

When choosing an SSD drive it is important to look out for the read and write speeds which can vary between products and range from 300-600MBPS.

Good brands when it comes to SSD drives include Samsung, Kingston and HP amongst others.

Replacing your hard drive

Upgrading the hard drive inside of your PC or laptop tends to be one of the best ways to improve performance – especially when moving from SATA to SSD drive. There are some considerations to make before thinking about replacing your hard drive though.

First and foremost, replacing the hard drive on a PC or laptop is a complex task in many ways and should not be undertaken unless you are confirmable working with computer hardware and software. If you are not comfortable working in this type of scenario then it is advisable to contact your local IT professional. The labour charge for replacing a hard drive will typically be around the same amount as the cost of the drive itself.

Firstly you need physical access to the drive in order to replace it. In a PC the drive is normally easy to access by removing the sides of the case and is normally held in by 4 screws – two either side.

Locating the hard drive in a laptop is more difficult as it can be situated underneath the laptop in a compartment or sometimes underneath the keyboard. Before attempting open a laptop it is advisable to search for the technicians manual or a video guide on YouTube and mistakes can result in damage to the laptop.

The next step in replacing the hard drive is moving the data between old and new drive. There are two options here – you can use a drive cloning software such as Acronis True Image which will replicate everything from one drive to another or you can load a new operating system onto the new drive and then transfer the data manually from old to new with a docking station, USB dongle or similar method.

Both of these options require some effort and also a good understanding of how PCs work. Cloning the drives is the fastest and most comprehensive option but will typically cost more money because you will need a licence for the cloning software.

Proving how trashy and low class she has become, Miley Cyrus recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live with heart shaped pasties covering her nipples, which she flashed to the audience during the interview. Wrapping up this week’s celebrity gossip mill, when Jimmy Kimmel asked Miley what her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, thinks of her flashing her pasties she said that her dad would rather have her bare her breasts and be a nice person than keep them covered up but be a witch. This says a lot about the Cyrus family values, since she went from being Disney’s golden child to being one of the biggest train wrecks ever seen.

LOVE & HIP HOP ATLANTA REUNION 2: Threesomes & Shesomes

Okay we are back for part two of the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta reunion and you best believed it picked right back up where it started. And this episode was all the way live.

Joseline reveals that she, Stevie J and Mimi indeed had a threesome. While Mimi stays mum, Joseline gets serious and explains that she has respect for Mimi but the way that she acts towards her makes her unable to show it. Then Mimi actually admits that they had the threesome in that Joseline ate her… well you know, to which the Puerto Rican princess said “all night.”  And then Joseline actually becomes the bigger woman and apologizes to Mimi for everything and she accepts it.

They move on and review Mimi’s management storyline that includes Jessica Dime and Tiffany Foxx. Dawn, her one time business partner, then expresses how she felt about Mimi not telling her about working with Jessica Dime, who we all know is not talented. Of course Dime is all kinds of ratchet and classless. She continues to speak over everyone else telling them to “not come for me.”

Then a chick in the audience says something out loud about Jessica Dime having rhinestones on and she directly tells the audience member/fan to not come for her. Then security escorts the audience member out of the building as she and Jessica Dime continue to go back and forth. Really glad someone who is not apart of the madness said something.

Next up is the Scrappy, Erica, Bambi, Momma Dee storyline. Nikki speaks to Ernest, Momma Dee’s Husband for the second time, asking him how he can go back to her after she put him in jail. He says with all the stuff he did, it was kind of an even trade. Momma Dee says that all is forgiven on both sides and they are happy.

Now when it comes to Scrappy and Erica, boy do sparks fly. Erica doesn’t hold back and neither does Scrappy. Nikki P asks Scrappy how he fell behind in child support and that’s when it goes south. Bambi and Erica go back and forth in a screaming match. He then says that he doubts that Erica is a good mother. Scrappy stands up and breaks it down for all the baby mommas in the audience and watching. He points out how he brought Erica on the show, enabled her to make a living for herself and she still acts like he ain’t shit. Then proceeded to say, “Fuck you.” I have to say, aside from saying she’ a bum mom, he read the hell out of her.

They then review Kalenna, Tony and Rasheeda’s storyline. One of the centerpieces of Kalenna’s storyline is what happened with Deb and how Kalenna pretty much insulted the work she has done. They get their shit out on the table and they hug it out on the stage.

From the audience, Joseline calls out Rasheeda and Kirk. Kirk dismisses her and they move on to talk about all the messy things Rasheeda was involved in this season. Nikki asks Bambi if she felt a certain way about Rasheeda telling Scrappy about being in another guy’s video and she said, ”not really, but that’s way happens when you hang around messy people” referring to Erica.

At the end of the show, when Nikki announces Stevie J and Joseline performing, Margo goes all the way off. She screams at them about how awful their music is and that no one wants to hear them. She ends up leaving the stage as she is clearly upset and Nikko follows after her. Stevie J and her Joseline cheer her off the stage.

We see Nikko and Margo and she is totally over it all. She is through with the whole show and can’t stand Stevie and Joseline. I mean the veins in her forehead and neck just throb. She slumps into a chair and tells Nikko, “Baby let’s go home.” Wait I thought you guys weren’t together anymore.

As for Stevie and his wife, they announce that they are doing a spin off some time this year. Big surprise there.  It is also clear that they are not really together or they are just for money purposes. When Nikki asks him about giving his special sauce to Joseline she says that she doesn’t even allow it in her anymore. Um okay. That’s your husband, so I don’t get it. But I guess that’s how it goes in the world of reality TV.

They go on to do their performance and it is subpar; nothing really to say here, still mediocre. The big shocker is when Mimi comes on stage and shocks everyone by thanking Joseline for coming in between her and Stevie because it was a prayer answered and she was able to have her best friend back.  The two enemies actually hug it out and Stevie J is ecstatic, jumping all over the stage. All three embrace each other and for some reason, everyone in the building cries.

Anyway, it’s the end of LHHATL, but don’t worry. LHHHollywood starts next week and you know I’m going to have the juicy drama for you.

BACHELOR IN PARADISE 210: Ashley I Uses Virginity To Score Jared

ashley i using virginity to score jared bachelor in paradise recap 2015 imagesThe second part of this week’s Bachelor in Paradise throws audiences into the madness right away – as Juelia gets Tenley to pee on her foot, which was stung by a jellyfish.

Right off the bat, it is clear that the rest of the crew are still not over the fact that Samantha saved Dan and sent Joe packing at the rose ceremony last night.

At first it seems Carly’s plan to get Samantha out is working, as Chelsie is seen talking with Dan. However, shortly afterwards Chelsie ends up asking Nick on her date and allows for the Dan-Samantha relationship to potentially flourish.

Everyone else is nervous that Ashley S. is going to go crazy when she finds out Nick is going on a date with Chelsie. Therefore, Nick goes to Ashley’s room and tries to smooth things over with her.  He begins by asking her if she is okay and tells her she “smells like a brewery,” which was probably not the best way for him to approach the situation. After Nick tells her that he didn’t feel a connection with her, she tells him she feels the same way, but to the one-on-one camera she confesses she feels “let down.”

Shortly after, McKenzie from Chris Soules’ season arrives in Paradise. Right away, Ashley I. embraces McKenzie (they were friends from Chris’ season) and gives her the lowdown on what’s been going on. Ashley makes a point to tell McKenzie that she is “obsessed” with Jared and pretty much marks him off limits. Ashley suggests that McKenzie ask out Justin on her date, as not only is he single but he also has a kid like McKenzie.

McKenzie ends up asking Justin, which seems like a good fit as they two bond right away over their children. They go on a romantic date together, where they end up in some kind of spiritual ritual conducted in Spanish. They end up covering each other in mud and being told they were now “married.”

Although the two seemed to enjoy themselves, Justin mildly freaks out as he tells the camera, “Something tells me [McKenzie] actually thinks we got married.” Back at camp, Justin makes it very clear he isn’t all too interested in the relationship as he confesses he will be looking for someone to “divorce” him from her right away.

Also on a date this episode was Chelsie and Nick, who end up on a private yacht. The two engage in good conversation but Nick notes that he didn’t necessarily feel a “romantic connection and spark” with her.

Later in the day, Jacqueline arrives to paradise and right away the girls note that she has a reputation for being a “tough b**ch.” Immediately, Jacqueline makes it clear she doesn’t care about current relationships in Paradise and expresses interest in Jared.

Seeing that Jacqueline is a potential threat to her relationship with Jared, Ashley I. seeks the help of host Chris Harrison. She asks Chris to give her a date card, as well as an overnight stay in the fantasy suite.

Ashley confesses, “I want an overnight date with Jared because there is just no more time to, like, mess around.”

Chris Harrison complies and wishes her luck.

Ashley I. returns to camp and interrupts Jared and Jacqueline’s conversation, asking Jared if he would join her on a date, followed by an off-camera night in the fantasy suite. To many of the fellow cast members’ surprise, Jared says yes.

Jacqueline is not impressed with being cut off, and tells the one-on-one camera, “No guy this age wants to take somebody’s virginity still.” (Note: Ashley I. has made it public knowledge that she is still a virgin)

However, if things go Ashley’s way, the fantasy suite date with Jared will secure her relationship with him and keep Jacqueline away.

Unfortunately, we will not find out till next week whether Ashley I.’s plan will be successful and whether a fantasy suite is truly the way to Jared’s heart.

Next Week:

In the two-night finale, we get to see what happens during Ashley I.’s impromptu overnight date with Jared. In addition, there seems to be some serious trouble in paradise for power couple Jade and Tanner. And it looks like there is a proposal at the end of this whole charade (most likely Kirk and Carly).

nfl preseason week 3 recap jimmy garoppoloPreseason Week 3 Recap

Ready to blow through week three like Trent Richardson through NFL opportunities? Onto the NFL Preseason Week 3 recaps.

Patriots 17 Panthers 16

Tom Brady got in more play this week, but had a bad pick that was all him. Another was ripped away from the wideout. He did find “the other” tight end, Scott Chandler for a TD. Garoppolo was shaky early in the game, but settled in later and looked solid again.

Cam Newton suffered through more drops than any QB should have to endure. He will be frustrated by week five. No weapons in that utility belt will make up for the lack of receivers. He also took a hard hit that had Carolina fans covering their eyes. Ribs Cam! The ribs!

Lions 22 Jaguars 17

Blake Bortles is going to be an elite quarterback in the NFL if the Jags are able to put decent pieces around the second year man. He is much more comfortable this year than last, when he was already solid for a rookie.

Golden Tate is for real. I am not a Notre Dame guy, but have to admit this guy is on my radar. He had a crazy 62 yard touchdown catch that showed how hard it will be to slow down both he and Megatron.

Titans 10 Chiefs 34

We knew Mariota could run coming into the League. He showed off that skill against the Chiefs and even settled in with some key passes before heading for the sidelines.

Justin Houston tracked him down for a sack, but that is gonna happen with a $101 million dollar defensive stud. If I were Houston I would lose my desire to hit people in the head with my head once I was that rich.

Jeremy Maclin made some big catches for K.C., as did gigantic tight end Travis Kelce. This big man is hard to stop and could be the second best tight end in the NFL depending on how Graham adjusts in Seattle.

Falcons 9 Dolphins 13

All you need to know about this game is that Matt Ryan got roughed up on three sacks. The Dolphins have a very good defensive front. We all know that. They got 70% better the moment Ndamukong Suh signed on the dotted line.

The Phins got another fine game from Ryan Tannehill who threw for 145 yards while playing less than two full quarters. He connected to Jarvis Landry for a big 46 yarder that helped his team to a 13-9 win.

The Falcons are lucky to have a solid kicker like Matt Bryant on the roster. He was the lone scorer for his crew in this game. That won’t be enough once the real season commences. As a fellow bald man, I love Bryant, but I don’t want him dominating the scoring for the Birds each week.

Matt Ryan finished the game 3 of 7 for just 49 yards. There was no help from the run game which was basically nonexistent.

The Falcon’s o-line blocked no better for T.J. Yates. He was batted around also. Third downs were hard to watch.

The Birds defense handled Miami’s run game better from the second quarter on. O’Brien Schofield laid a nasty hit on Miami backup Matt Moore. Hope to see more of the same with Quinn’s scheme this year.

In the third quarter Atlanta had a chance for another touchdown but were completely stuffed on third and goal. They tried for it again on fourth down. The result was even worse, with Miami sacking Yates yet again.

Steelers 19 Bills 43

No this game wasn’t competitive, but Buffalo did figure out their starting QB afterward. Tyrod Taylor got the nod from Rex Ryan after he displayed his well rounded game again. Kid is exciting and has grinded his way to a starting role after being a career backup.

Yes Mike Vick looked like one of the best backups in the NFL. He may be, but you can’t depend on that on a weekly basis. He can go from electric to mediocre in just a couple series.

Vikings 28 Cowboys 14

Count me as a Teddy Bridgewater fan. He has been on point all preseason long and made a perfect sideline deep throw that only elite guys make.

Dez Bryant is scaring me with all his TD celebrations in his street clothes. Settle down big man. Great to be happy for your teammates, but watch those freak injuries.

This game highlighted the fact that Dallas’s offensive line can make due with any running back available. Look for big rushing numbers all season from the Boys.

Cordarrelle Patterson is a speed demon and he burned the Cowboys for a 107 yard TD return of a kickoff. Nice to have that type of  weapon to change the score in about ten seconds.

Jets 28 Giants 18

Is Eli still looking to be the highest paid QB in the world?  He sure isn’t playing like it.

Ryan Fitzpatrick looked like the better passer. Yes I know it’s preseason ball, but he had a nice game. Eric Decker caught a touchdown from Fitz and had 52 yards receiving on the night.

Rams odd man out, Zac Stacy, may be great fit for the Jets. He had a highlight reel run and 60 yards on the game. Leonard Williams left the game with a knee strain, but should be ready week one of the real stuff.

Browns 31 Bucs 7

6 of 15 and four sacks. That was Jameis Winston’s night. Rookie struggles are to be expected. He best learn to throw the ball away or he’ll be doing more limping just like in this contest.

Cleveland had no trouble with the Bucs except on the play that Josh McCown was nearly killed by Bucs linebacker Kwon Alexander.

Redskins 31 Ravens 13

No RGIII. He has been demoted though. Cousins is going to be the starter week one. Cousins wasn’t Joe Montana in this game, but he wasn’t RGIII running for his life either. He went 20-27 for a buck 90.

The game wasn’t close but there was some coach on coach crime to add drama. Steve Smith got ejected and finished the game watching from the stands with his kid. That is a first as far as I know. Probably got kicked out on purpose, but not before toasting the Ravens’ young bucks for 63 yards and the score.

Bears 10 Bengals 21

Bears fans best get used to ugly games from Jay Cutler like this one. He has few weapons to choose from so the offense is going to be mediocre at best.

Andy Dalton did his job for the Bengals, going 6 for 6 before leaving with a sore neck. That may be code for “I’ve had enough for this meaningless game coach.”

Eagles 39 Packers 26

No Aaron Rodgers and that’s smart. No need in getting another star hurt….well that didn’t work. Randall Cobb went down with a shoulder sprain. However it looks like he may start in week one.

Sam Bradford had about as good a game as a QB can have. 10 for 10 and three touchdowns. Kid was on. Marc Sanchez had similar numbers in relief.  Tebow, not so much. The so called two point specialist was 0 for 2 on two point attempts.

DeMarco Murray had 28 yards on six carries.

Seahawks 16 Chargers 15

It’s hard to watch Seattle’s offense each week. Do they even have an offensive coordinator? Wilson is going to be worn out from all the scrambling he is doing.

At least the punt return team showed promise. Tyler Lockett sprinted his way to a 67 yard touchdown that gave the Hawks the lead for good.

Melvin Gordon had 34 yards for S.D.

Colts 24 Rams 14

Odd seeing Andre Johnson catch a pass from Luck, but that combo could stretch the former Texans receiver’s career a few more years.

Nick Foles had a 44 yard TD throw on his way to a 10 of 11 game and 128 yards.

The Rams are going to be a different team when Todd Gurley gets on the field. Hide and watch.

49ers 12 Broncos 19

We know. Peyton can’t feel his fingers. Me either sometimes. It sux. He still hit on 14 of 21 attempts so he is fine.

Colin Kaepernick was pressured much of the time he was under center. He did manage a 19 yard run and another one of 34 yards. He’ll need those runs all year long just to keep his team close.

NaVorro Bowman had another good game for San Fran, sacking Manning twice.

Texans 27 Saints 13

The Texans are doing OK without Andre Johnson. They have DeAndre Hopkins who is coming into his own and should fill that void left by Johnson.

New Orleans will look to feature Brandin Cooks this year at wideout. He should get plenty of looks with no Jimmy Graham in the Superdome.

Cardinals 30 Raiders 23

I like John Brown a whole lot. This little guy can get open and knows how to hang onto the ball. Even with his QB Carson Palmer playing like he was drunk (8 of 22), Brown had a big 39 yard catch.

Amari Cooper had a couple great catches from Carr. These two are going to stretch the field all season long. Carr threw the ball 34 times in this one for 213 yards. There are some big gains in that mix considering he only connected on less than half those passes.
