Horror Fans Truly Gasp Over CRIMSON PEAK Trailer

The Crimson Peak trailer debut last week at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas and left horror fans gasping….and drooling for more. By the end of the trailer I was doing the exact same thing. Crimson Peak is already being hailed as Guillermo del Toro’s masterpiece. That’s saying a lot considering everything he does is pretty brilliant already.

The film’s plot revolve around actors Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain who play two spooky siblings who live in an equally spooky house. Mia Wasikowska plays Hiddleson’t new bride who moves into the scary new house and discovers that her lord husband is nothing like she originally thought. As the bride digs deeper and deeper in to her husband’s affairs, she discovers that his secret is extremely bloody and unpleasant.

One of the most impressive things about the upcoming horror film is that the film’s center set piece, a 19th century massive mansion, was built entirely by the crew. Del Toro said he wanted the house to look as natural as possible and did not rely on using a lot of forced CGI and special effects.

“I wanted to make the film mostly practical, with no green screen,” said the always visually stunning director.

If you’re wondering why del Toro is glowing so much about his most recent film it’s because he says the film is a Gothic romance, the type of stories he’s loved since he was a child. He said the soon to be released film is “sick and twisted” and that’s why he likes the move so much. He further refers to it as an “operatic spectacle”

According to the Boston Herald, the audience at CinemaCon literally gasped during the trailer! It’s not hard to see why at all.

If that doesn’t make you want to see it badly enough, maybe an endorsement from the king of literary horror himself will convince you. Stephen King said that the soon to be released film is “gorgeous and just f-king terrifying.”

His son appears to agree. “Remember that list I tweeted the other day, the 13 most beautiful horror films?” Kings son Joe Hill tweeted. “Crimson Peak is the most beautiful of all.

Man, I sure hope this film lives up the hype!

This film will be released in theaters at the very “peak” of Halloween season on October 16th.

With the seeming increase of police violence this past year, Taser recently announced that its police cameras have been sold to and are being used in 16 major cities. It will be interesting to see if this helps bring down all of the unnecessary shootings and deaths that have been quite the scourge of police officers all over the country. Each instance has had more and more people stating that there needs to be more police cameras on the street, and cities are slowly coming around to realize that taking a portion of their budget can save them a lot of headaches and possible destruction in the long run. Just look at Baltimore and if there had been these cameras there, things might have turned out much differently.

Taser said a total of 16 major U.S. cities, including Miami, Los Angeles and San Diego, have purchased its wearable cameras for their officers. The list doesn’t include Baltimore.

Freddie Gray’s death in police custody in Baltimore is sparking debate about the transparency of those in uniform. Some critics say that if the Baltimore police had been wearing cameras, the events leading up to Gray’s death would have been clearer.

Baltimore’s City Council proposed a bill last year to put cameras on officers. But mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake vetoed it, citing budget and implementation issues. The mayor has since been working on a police camera proposal of her own.

The problem is that Taser’s AXOM cameras are expensive, especially for cities strapped with tight budgets. One AXOM body camera is $399.

But a growing number of large cities — New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas — are deciding that the cost of cameras is worth it.

Many of them are betting that it could possibly help prevent the violent reactions seen in Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore.

It’s been a boon for Taser. It’s stock is up 84% in the past year and is edging closer towards its all-time high Thursday. The majority of Taser’s sales are still stun guns. The company’s overall sales rose 23% in the first quarter.

We’ve known for some time that Windows was basically killing off its search engine Internet Explorer, and now it’s Spartan placeholder name has officially become Microsoft Edge.  It fits right in with Chrome and Firefox now. Edge will now be the primary default browser built into Windows 10, and I’m sure European countries will be ready to go to court again if it’s similar to IE was with earlier versions of Windows.

One of the newest updates to the renamed browser is a new page layout for new tabs, which creates what looks and feels like a customized home page complete with links and thumbnails of the websites you visit frequently, Web-based apps you use and personalized information pulled from Cortana.

Popular extensions for the Chrome and Firefox browsers will also turn up on Edge, as these can now be re-purposed for Edge with what Microsoft says are “just a few changes.”

Currently, if you want to try the browser formerly known by the code-name Spartan, you need to be running the latest build of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, where its prerelease state is still a work in progress. In our hands-on preview of Project Spartan, we said, “a new rendering engine powering all of Spartan’s features, and it feels appreciably zippy,” but at the same time, “you’ll click a link, and nothing will happen. So you’ll click it again, and again, and moments later, when you’ve just about given up hope, several identical tabs spring to life.”

In a nutshell, here’s the basics of what to expect with Microsoft Edge:

  • It has built-in Cortana support.
  • It has built-in reader, note-taking and sharing features.
  • The design focuses on simplicity and minimalism.
  • The rendering engine is called EdgeHTML.

The most notable features previously announced for Spartan/Edge are the inclusion of Cortana, Microsoft’s virtual assistant (and like the name Spartan, a reference to the Microsoft-made Halo games), and on-screen notation via Web Note, for drawing annotations directly on Web pages and sharing them. It seemed like Microsoft was moving at a snail’s pace with their Windows 10 preview releases, but they’ve amped everything up with their third version in a months time. This was is build 10074 and fixes that annoying Start menu glitch from the last update. If you didn’t notice, it made you have to pin the app to the taskbar so you could launch the Windows destop apps. You couldn’t just do it immediately from the Start menu, but this is what happens when you test out preview modes and it’s how Microsoft learns what’s right and what’s wrong.

Yesterday was the release of 10074 and here’s what you can expect. One subtle change in build 10074 is a change in the description watermarked on the Windows desktop. Instead of being labeled a Technical Preview, the new build is now an Insider Preview. That’s no doubt a reflection of the rapidly approaching release date, which is now roughly 90 days away.

This release marks the surprising return of Aero Glass, the transparent effect behind some user interface elements that debuted in Windows Vista, was refined in Windows 7, and disappeared with the launch of the flat Windows 8 user interface. In this build, Microsoft is conducting an A-B test, with half of Windows 10 installations getting the transparency effect behind the Start menu and taskbar and the other half getting a blur, “frosted glass” effect.

General UX improvements: We made a bunch of UX improvements with the last build and you’ll see even more in this build. For example, you’ll notice a new Live Tile animation for Start in addition to in addition to some performance and stability improvements for Live Tiles.

We’ve done work to better support high DPI displays. And we know many Windows Insiders are running multi-mon setups – often with 2 monitors with different DPI. You will start to see some work we’re doing to make sure core UX components in Windows scale correctly on both your monitors so things look nice regardless of DPI.

We’ve also heard loud in clear that many Windows Insiders want to see Aero Glass from Windows 7 make a comeback. We’ve been working out how to satisfy this request, and are trying some things out with this build to see how you like them. We’re running a little A/B test with this build. 50% of you will normal transparency on the Start menu and taskbar while the other 50% will see a blur effect on the Start menu and taskbar (like frosted glass). If Windows Insiders really like the blur effect, we will add it to more areas and even consider making it the default instead of standard transparency. Which one did you get? Even more improvements to Continuum: We’re continuing to make Continuum better and invest in a simplified taskbar. Additionally when you close an application in Tablet mode, we take you back to the Start screen instead of the desktop as you would expect when using a tablet. You will see general polish on snapping, and the shared divider between two snapped windows now let’s you adjust the size.

Multi-tasking improvements: We’re continuing to refine and complete our mulit-tasking experience with Windows 10. Check out Alt-Tab, Task-View, and Snap Assist. Snap Assist also now supports the ability to close a window during Snap Assist.

New default Windows sounds: We’ve heard a lot of feedback from people that they want some fresh system sounds for Windows 10. Check them out and let us know what you think.

Visual refresh for Cortana: You will see a visual refresh for Cortana in this build that makes the experience feel more ingrained into the overall Windows experience. Start and Cortana are now more tightly integrated. As you start to search for an app from within Start, Cortana can seamlessly take over and bring back the right result. The new Windows split view control has been added to Cortana’s left rail, offering quick access to key Cortana functionality like the Notebook, Reminders or Feedback on how Cortana’s doing. This split view control helps anchor Cortana to the rest of the Windows UI and provides navigation consistent with many other Windows first party applications.

New experiences in Cortana: We are making available some new and updated experiences in Cortana powered by Bing Instant Answers. Cortana will aim to answer your question while you’re still typing. Here are a few questions you can try:

  • Finance – “MSFT stock”
  • Dictionary – “define astounding”
  • Calculator – “48*92”
  • Flight Status – “UA 238”

Updates for the Music and Video Preview apps: We’ve also shipped updates to these apps. The Music Preview app (3.6.999.0) has some UX improvements including a more immersive Now Playing experience with a true full screen mode. With the Video Preview app (3.6.999.0) – you can download movies, TV shows, and TV seasons and check progress, pause, resume, cancel the download. You can also download, delete, and even re-download videos as many times as you want on up to three devices (we’re planning to increase the number of devices you can download content too!). Closed captioning for purchased content now appears. You will see a list of new features when you first launch these app after each update!

Xbox app April 2015 update: The Xbox app for Windows 10 has been updated (your version number should be 4.4.9014.0 or higher) with new features like Game DVR for PC games, screenshots, a Live Tile, user profiles, and real-name sharing. Oh and the drivers for Xbox controllers are now included with Windows 10, so you no longer have to download and install controller drivers on Windows 10. Windows Store Beta improvements: We’re excited about delivering a single unified Store experience in Windows 10 which we’re talking more about this week at Build. We’ve made some improvements to the Store Beta which is now a blue tile instead of grey. Xbox Live games should be working and so are in-app purchases. Apps you purchased on a PC running Windows 8.1 will now show up in the Store Beta on Windows 10 as owned (and vice-versa). We’re also expanding the Store Beta from 41 markets with the addition of these new markets: Afghanistan, Åland Islands, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Aruba, Azerbaijan, The Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bahrain, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bonaire, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bouvet Island, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Iceland, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Malta, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Venezuela.

Here are some things we fixed

  • You can now launch Win32 (desktop) apps from the Start menu again. Sorry about this bug!
  • You should be able to download music in the Xbox Music and Music Preview apps.
  • When you minimize an app playing audio, it should continue playing in the background.

Here are some known issues

  • Developers cannot enable Developer Mode in the Settings app for installing and testing apps on this build. We’ll enable this in an upcoming build. In the meantime, you will need enable your device for development using the Group Policy Editor.
  • There is an issue in this build preventing some games from playing in full screen mode. We’re working to get a fix out via WU as soon as possible.
  • The People app continues to crash. We’re planning to release an update for the People app through the Store Beta that fixes this.

Anyone with Windows 10 installed will get the new build delivered via Windows Update. It is also available as an ISO for clean installs and for use in virtual machines.

An Internet router is something that many people simply take for granted – it’s just a little box that sits by your phone point, or in a cupboard and makes your Internet work.

In fact, most of the times your Internet Company will even provide your router to you as part of the service contract and will even have the router pre-configured so that it is ready to go when it arrives – simply requiring that you unpack it and plug it in.

This is great because it means that getting connected to the Internet is very simple, however it does meant that the majority of consumers don’t really understand routers at all and if the need to purchase and install one every arises then it causes serious problems.

The aim of this article is to demystify the Internet router – explain its job, the differences there are between different types of routers and how to choose the most appropriate one.

What is a router anyway?

A router is like a connection between two networks – the computer or computers within your household make up what is known as a local area network and this needs to be connected to other networks (which are what the Internet is really made up of) via a router.

To the average Internet user, a router is really just a device that allows your computers to connect to the Internet and therefor the most important considerations are normally the type of Internet router that is required, how many devices it can connect to the Internet and the speed at which it can connect and these are the types of considerations we will be addressing in this article.

Why would I need to buy my own router?

As mentioned previously, Internet providers will often supply the router but there are also situations where it is required for a router to be purchased elsewhere. Some of the most common reasons for this would be as follows:

  • The router has suffered non-accidental damage and is not covered by the service provider
  • The router offers standard speeds and something more powerful is required
  • The router quality is not sufficient
  • The Internet line is out of contract and the provider is going to charge a fee for replacing the router

Internet Line Types

The first consideration when purchasing a router is the type of line that you have installed – this is important because there are different types of routers for different Internet lines.

ADSL

ADSL Internet typically comes in via a standard phone line or socket and will require an ADSL router.

DSL

DSL Internet typically comes in via a co-axle cable (similar to traditional TV cable links) and will require a DSL router.

Wireless capabilities

Probably the next most common consideration to make when purchasing a router is the wireless capabilities – if any – of the router.

Despite popular belief not all routers come equipped to provide wireless connectivity. Some people don’t have any need for wireless connectivity and in these cases a hard wire only router may be the best potion. Routers without wireless capabilities are typically much cheaper than those with wireless capability so if this option is not required it makes sense to do without it.

For those of us that do require the availability of a wireless connection the choices increase massively. As soon as you look at wireless enabled routers you will see that there are many different options and large range in prices.

The standard for wireless communications concerning Internet connectivity is known as IEEE 802.11 and is then further classified into several different types based on various factors.

The first classification was introduced in 1999 and whilst the speed was fast for its time at around 54 Mbit/s the range was very short.

IEEE 802.11b

This classification has a much greater range but slower speeds at around only 11Mbit/s.

IEEE 802.11g

When this classification was introduced it had the best of both worlds with a 54Mbit/s speed rating as well as a range similar to 802.11b.

IEEE 802.11n

The n classification is currently the fastest available to the retail market with speeds of up to 74Mbit/s and a range of around 230 feet.

When choosing the type of wireless capabilities that you want there are several considerations. Firstly each increase in speed and range will have an associated price increase and secondly you should confirm that the devices you are planning to use with the wireless router are compatible with the classification that the router adheres to. For example, some older devices will not work with the newest wireless classifications.

Brand

Of course the next key thing to consider when purchasing a router is the brand that you chose. There are many different brands of routers available on the market and depending on the scenario that the router is being deployed into the best one will differ.

If you are purchasing a router for an office environment then Draytek and Billion are both very good makes. These manufacturers are known for producing very robust and feature rich routers but do come at a much higher price than other makes.

For the average home user Netgear and TP-Link are both reliable makes that are priced mid-way in the market.

There are also other brands that sit at the lower end of the market and will provide similar hardware at a much cheaper price.

Features

The last thing to look for when purchasing an Internet router is the additional features and capabilities of the router. This will not be a necessary consideration for most users but depending on the use case it can sometimes be important.

Some of the features that will not always come as standard with a router include gigabit connectivity which is the fastest hard wired connection speed that is available on the retail market and will be very useful for users planning to play online games – where fast speeds and low latency are key.

Ever since Edward Snowden opened up the door on data privacy and the fact that the NSA were strong-arming technology companies into providing them with access to users data there has been an ongoing debate on both the legality and the morality of data privacy and the abuse of that privacy.

More recently the head of the NSA, Admiral Michael S. Rogers has stated up front that the NSA are advocates for a new method of controlled access to users private data labelled as front door access.

The system that is being proposed by the NSA would see some form of shared “key” being given to multiple parties – namely the companies that own the data and the security agencies. These keys would only provide access to confidential data when used in conjunction with each other. The idea behind this plan is that data could only be accessed in just circumstances, for example where national security was at stake, and with the agreement of all parties.

There are several implementations of this type of security system, the method mentioned above is known as split keys because all of the keys must be used together to gain access to the data while the users or data owners are the only ones that have exclusive access. Another popular method known as key escrow simply involves a third party being given a copy of the key and therefor having dual access along with the user.

Regardless of the system that is ultimately used, the idea is the same – the NSA want access to our private and confidential data but rather than doing it behind closed doors like they once did they want everyone to be aware that they have access to that data in the hope that we trust their legitimate and responsible access to it.

What do the NSA need access to our data?

The NSA does have a very sound argument that backs their requirement for being able to access our private data. They make this request in the interest of national security – they are not planning to use this access to foil common crimes or to snoop on the average person but rather as a method of surveillance in cases of national security. If there are communication methods that are totally unbreakable then it will always leave doors open for terrorists to operate without any fear of interception and this is something that the NSA feel can easily be avoided with such as system in place.

So what is the problem with front door access?

The problem with any type of access to confidential data by the NSA has always been the same – the average person feels like their privacy is being abused if someone potentially has access to all of their confidential data. Many people consider this a breach of their human rights.

Aside from the average person’s opinion on the matter there are also new security risks that come with allowing this level of data access to certain organisations. The fact is that if this data is accessible by some parties then it opens up the possibility that other less legitimate parties may also gain access to the data.

Furthermore the problem with front door access to private data is that criminal organisations and other hacker organisations will know that those parties have access to confidential information and they will become a target to those organisations. From a hacker’s point of view this simply means a wider area that can be targeted when trying to gain information – after all it is well know that a hacker’s best method of compromising any system is to go after the key holders rather than trying to break down the front door as it were.

Does the NSA have good intentions in all of this? They probably do. Is it morally right? You decide.

Is traditional and cable TV doomed with services such as HBO Now and Netflix rising up? From the looks of things, the answer is yes. That is one brave assumption but I’m confident that in a few years everyone, at least in the First World would have cut the cord. It’s been true for me for several years now. I could easily survive on the internet and ripped DVD packages for my TV fix. I only keep my cable for my wife and kids who watch their cartoons and dramas, and the only thing I watch on TV these days are the news and a few shows like The Walking Dead, Agents of SHIELD, The Big Bang Theory and Supernatural. Unfortunately, cable TV schedules are so flexible that I miss those at times.

As it stands, at least in my area, traditional TV signals are almost unwatchable and except for the news, the programs hardly interest me. I connect to cable TV just for the clearer signal, and channels like Discovery, The History Channel, CNN, HBO, Fox and Animax. My earlier statement seems contradictory given the number of channels I mentioned. But those channels I could easily give up for Twit podcasts on YouTube, Vevo and other sites such as Cinemassacre and WatchMojo. I can always read my way through the news or simply go to CNN.com. Now, like I said, cable for me is just to get clearer signals to watch the local news which are mostly depressing anyway. Right now, cable TV is just another bill to worry about aside from my monthly broadband connection which I use for my work and entertainment. If anyone were given a choice on what to give up between cable TV and broadband internet, most would probably choose cable TV unless there weren’t any other options to watch updated episodes of Game of Thrones, Empire, and The Flash. My kids are also gradually discovering the joys of Youtube and spend hours watching Minecraft videos and My Little Pony episodes and might soon lose interest in mainstream TV. My busy wife would be the last hang-on to our cable TV subscription but point her to some good sites and the benefits of a couple hundred dollars of savings a year and we’re good to go.

The great thing about switching to online programming is that we get to watch what we want to watch, when we want to watch. We also get to watch the extinct shows that networks won’t show any more like McGuyver, The A Team, Star Trek, the original Battlestar Galactica (the new one’s camera shakes and pans give me headaches), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Perfect Strangers and even Who’s the Boss?. Also where in cable or traditional TV can you watch cute cat videos except on Animal Planet? You’d have to find out the schedule which changes week after week. Online, you’d just log into YouTube or your favorite cat video site and you’re all set.

Remember the channels I mentioned which are the reasons I still have cable? They’re the only ones I’m interested in, not to mention the ones I’d have to pay premium to be included. What I have are those channels and a few dozen other channels I don’t give a rodent’s behind about. I pay for those too. If I can opt out of several shopping channels, sports channels, foreign language channels and cooking channels and take them out of the bill, then by all means I’d keep my cable.

But despite my opinions, cable TV is in for rough seas ahead because of all the competition. HBO itself is its own enemy with HBO Now and HBO Go. There’s also Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and tons of other video sites on the internet. Many of us also enjoy watching our favorite series on our DVD boxed sets in disc or ripped form providing countless hours of enjoyment. There are also tons of inexpensive devices out there that enable us to smarten up our TVs and liven up our own programming. There’s a ton of media players out there such as Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox and a variety of PCs on a stick.

It all sounds well and good but cable TV still has a few things going for it. There’s the NBA championships, the occasional pay-per-view fights, Superbowl, Days of Our Lives, Jeopardy and maybe a few other popular things I don’t know about. Like I said, I hardly watch real TV anymore. There’s also the abhorrent data caps of broadband companies that could put a serious damper on the online TV experience. Cable has no such limits. Data caps are one good reason why many can’t cut the cord yet. Also not all areas have internet but by now, the only ones who don’t have cable are those that live in their cabins in the woods. For those who can ditch cable TV, some of the amount saved could offset the data caps by getting better internet packages.

For me, the era of cable TV has already passed and for others folks, that time will be soon. Not sure how the cable TV and traditional TV will adapt. They’re only mediums of distribution for the various studios that can easily use the internet for their content. What’s happening now could be the reason why in some shows and movies set in the future, the word television seemed archaic.

Finally on May 2nd boxing will be laid to rest as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao face each other in a fight that should have happened four years ago. It’s 2015 and these two should be in their third battle by now. But this is how boxing works or doesn’t, thus the funeral.

Make no mistake, this fight is going to produce an aircraft carrier full of money. It will be the highest grossing boxing match in history. The numbers will show it to be a success and many may predict a revival for the sport of boxing. That is a nice dream, however delusional.

No matter how much I would love to see boxing resurrected, I have to live in the real world. Nothing in the past ten years makes me believe the sport can get off the mat. The worms have half eaten the body of the sport by now. The corpse of the sport has a chalk outline drawn by the likes of Don King and other slimy folk. Lower level leeches have sucked whatever blood was left in the body after the real damage was done.

Anything can happen in sports. That’s why there is a glimmer of hope with this super fight. It could be a great battle that is followed by a rematch within a few months. That is the best case scenario. But even if that happens, it just prolongs the inevitable, kinda like putting the shock paddles on a guy that’s been in a frozen river for six hours and mangled by a grizzly bear.

Here’s what I think happens in the Mayweather and Pacquiao matchup. Gobs of people scrape together money they don’t have and pool it with friends they barely hang out with in order to afford the $99 PPV. Floyd Mayweather fights his usual brilliant, yet boring defensive style fight and wins a decision over Pacquiao. Those gobs of people are pissed at their own stupidity for spending $99 on the fight to begin with. Floyd gets richer and even more arrogant.

People have all kinds of reasons why boxing has declined so much. Many point to not having a heavyweight champion from the USA. That is part of the issue, but the main problem is the lack of big fights and too many championship belts. If everyone is a champion then no one is a champion. If the big names only talk shit about each other but never fight each other, then we can get that with politics.

People are pointing to this super fight as something boxing can build on for the future. I want that to be true. Alas it’s too little too late. These fighters, while still great, are not in their prime anymore. This will be the last super fight ever since most sports fans can’t name two other boxers besides the ones in this match up. The UFC is fighting now. Boxing is a side note in the fight game. I wish it were not so. I grew up with boxing in the forefront and I hate to see the casket close on one of the purest forms of competition.

Few tears will be shed as the funeral begins. Most of us have come to grips with boxing being dead long ago. The truly sad thing about boxing’s funeral is that it didn’t just die off naturally with some dignity. The very people who benefited the most from it slowly killed it over the course of decades.

Ray Lewis’ Emotional YouTube Video Does Nothing For Baltimore Situation

Let me say off the bat that I am not a Ray Lewis fan. Yes I live in Baltimore. No, I am not a Ravens follower. With that said, my criticism of this screaming video he posted on YouTube that is supposed to, IDK, stop people from expressing their anger about what’s going on is a reflection of his inaction thus far and not totally cynical.

The former football player made a video where he is sitting in his dark living room in a chair getting hyped about how people need to stop destroying the city that “we built.” He goes on saying how people put their blood sweat and tears into what they have and that those out in the streets need to “just go home.”

Now here is my issue with him and his whole persona. Baltimoreans (I am not a native but have lived here for three years) make this guy out to be their savior, I mean his presence in the city is like the coming of Christ. There is a messianic air to Ray Lewis that goes to far in my opinion and I would think that with the love he has for Charm City, he would do more than “preach” and raise his voice in a video.

He says that he is skipping the draft to stay in Baltimore and that is fine and all, but if his video is his contribution to the situation going on in the poorest parts of the city, he might as well have gone. And that’s all I have to say about that.

Khloe Kardashian bashed for Baltimore Support

As she said on her Instagram post, “Damned if I do. Damned if I don’t.” The 30 year old Kardashian sister took to the social media network to express her support of the situation in Baltimore by posting a picture with the caption “Pray for Baltimore.”

Not too long after, people began criticizing her post with some saying that the Nepal earthquake is more important than people getting murder by police. Others felt like she can keep her support because it’s not genuine.

Her response what right on as she asked in a follow up post, “So now it’s wrong to pray? What is wrong with some of you guys?”

People are so crazy. Because she is famous AND because is a member of one of the most famous or infamous (depending on how you look at it) her actions will always be judged. Well, at least she can enjoy a nice Cosmo poolside in her Calabasas house as she is getting her nails and feet done to get over the stupidity of haters.

Remember Uncle Jesse from the TV show Full House?  Well he, or rather John Stamos the actor that played him, recently too issue with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s claim that they had no idea about the Netflix reboot of the hit 90’s show which is titled Fuller House (cleaver).

Not too long after, fellow Full House alum Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner) and Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) also had something to say about the Olsen twins telling fashion publication Women’s Wear Daily

“I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening,”

Bure was especially verbal about her thoughts on the girls willingness to be apart of the reboot.

“It would be great if one of them came back…but I’m not holding my breath.”

It is always so interesting to me to see and hear how former co-stars feel about one another years after a show has ended. It is clear that the cast consensus on the Olsen twins is that they think way more highly of themselves that others do. I guess the question then is can you blame them?

Sherri Shepherd Positive that Custody Battle Will Work Out in Her Favor

The woman who doesn’t want to take responsibility of being a mother to a child that she and her husband had via a surrogate has finally broken her silence on the situation. What kills me about this woman is she just jumps up and down with her beloved Bible and would castigate someone who was doing what she is right now. The fact that she wants to abandon a child is sad, and I really hope Hollywood and other people let this piece of human waste just fade away. She keeps talking about her integrity speaking for itself….well it certainly has and we’ve all learned girl that she ain’t got none whatsoever!

TV personality Sherri Shepherd has been in a custody/court battle with her ex-husband Lamar Sally over the child born to them last summer. Her argument is that she was tricked into have a baby so that Sally could collect child support.

She told Entertainment Tonight, “Life is difficult… People who know me, my character, my integrity – I feel it speaks for itself… I’m a big believer that everything always works out in the end.”

This whole situation is really screwed up because first of all, there is no way a man can talk you into have a baby, especially if you are not carrying it. And then, to entering into the agreement and then try to back out of it even after the baby is born, that’s some messed up shit.

I don’t feel sorry for Shepherd, no one is going to throw her a pity party. She knew the kind of man that she was married to and if there was a doubt in her mind that he paly her, then she should have said no to the baby.

At this point, the best thing is for her to get custody of the baby if paying child support to Sally is her issue. She got herself into this situation and now a child’s life is involved, she needs to not be so damn selfish. Once again, is this how Christianity works in Sherri Shepherd’s world or is she just another freaking hypocrite who dusts off her Bible when it’s necessary.

American League MLB Week 3 Recap: Detroit Tigers Roaring At the Top

The third full week of the 2015 Major League Baseball season is in the bags as the Detroit Tigers sit atop the American League. The Tigers currently sit with the best record in the AL despite going just 3-4 over the past week. Good news for them the second best team in the AL the Kansas City Royals only posted a 3-3 record after losing both of a double header on Sunday.

Along with the the Tigers and Royals the two hottest teams over the American League are both big surprises. In the AL central the Houston Astros who many had as the bottom team in the division sits at 11-7 after going 8-2 over their last 10 games with five of those wins coming this past week. This includes a three game sweep of the Oakland A’s a popular pick to win the division.

The other surprise team has been the Tampa Bay Rays who sit tied with the New York Yankees for the best record in the American League East. The Rays are riding a five game winning streak including a sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays and winning the final two games of a three game series against the Boston Red Sox.

Here is a quick overview of each division in the American League.

East Division: Entering the 2015 Major League Baseball season many experts had the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays as the top two teams in the division. While the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles below them followed by the Tampa Bay Rays. After a strong week from the Rays they moved up to a tie with the Yankees while the Orioles fell from first place to last place in the division after losing six of their last ten games including five games this past week.

For the Rays the success this week including their only loss has been in large part due to the team’s success on the mound. The team allowed just 13 runs during six games with only of those contests going above three runs. Two of those six contests belonged to Chris Archer who took the loss in a 1-0 loss to the Red Sox but rebounded with a win in the team’s 5-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Archer has been dominating this year despite a record of a 3-2 after five games. The Rays right hander has not allowed an earned run over his past four outings including his two contests last week. Along with the Rays, the Yankees have been red hot in the division going 8-2 picking up two wins over the weekend against maybe the hottest team in the Majors the New York Mets.

Central Division: Despite a down week for the top two teams in the Central, both hold on to the top spot after the rest of the division struggled as well. Following the Tigers and the Royals is the White Sox in third place at 8-9, the Minnesota Twins at 8-10 and the Cleveland Indians at just 6-11. The same Indians team that many experts had competing for the division crown this year.

The team to beat this past week in the Central was the White Sox who posted a 4-2 record with series wins over the Indians and the Royals. That included taking both games of a double header on Sunday to get the team back to 8-9. Much like the Rays, the White Sox have done it with pitching in that stretch allowing three or fewer runs in five of the teams six contests last week.

West Division: Out West it has been all about the Houston Astros hot start including winning five of their six contests during the past week. This includes taking two of three from the Mariners before sweeping the A’s over the weekend. The team’s success was built around scoring as they scored 36 runs over a six game stretch after scoring just 15 runs last week.

Following the Astros in the standings is the Los Angeles Angels who posted 4-3 record this past week. The big news surrounding the team though has nothing to do with the teams play on the field but with outfielder Josh Hamilton who is on the disable list. The Angels are nearing a deal that would send Hamilton back to his former club the Texas Rangers who are also in the AL West division.

Despite being considered the strongest division in baseball entering the season the concern early has been the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners went just 2-4 over the past week losing two games to the Astros followed by two more losses to the Minnesota Twins. The biggest issue has been the team’s consistency to score runs and pitch. The team allowed six or more runs in three of the four losses while the team allowed just two runs in the two wins but only managed to score a combined five runs.

Now that we have taken a look at each of the divisions around Major League Baseball we can take a look at individuals. Here is our list of top individual performers over the first week of the season.

Mark Teixeria, New York Yankees: The Yankees first baseman might be one of the hottest hitters in baseball in regards to power production. Teixeria picked up six hits over the week with five of them going for home runs. Along with the home runs, Tex added 10 runs batted in and four walks.

Hanley Ramirez, Boston Red Sox: Ramirez put together another solid week for the Red Sox. In seven games last week, the Red Sox outfielder picked up nine hits in 23 at bats including three home runs and five runs batted in.

Chris Archer, Tampa Bay Rays: The Rays were built around pitching and this exactly has been what Archer has done this year. Archer went 1-1 over the week but allowed zero earned runs while striking out 16 hitters.

The English league title is as good as won. Jose Mourinho’s men have spearheaded the league table since day 1 and they deserve all the plaudits for giving consistent performances throughout the year. Eden Hazard was named the PFA Player of the Year and a total of six Chelsea players have been included in the PFA Team of the Year 2014/15.

Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool also played twice this weekend and lost five points. The Merseyside giants are on the brink of losing out on the Champions League berth which is still mathematically under their reach. Arsenal are third in the league following a 0 – 0 draw against the league leaders on Sunday. Wenger’s men have a game in hand are only behind Pellegrini’s City because of the goal difference.

Manchester City won 3 – 2 at the Etihad against Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa on Saturday. The champions will most likely retain the Champions League spot but they’ll have to fight harder till the end for the second or third spot.

Among the teams at the bottom of the table, Leicester City registered as massive win. Leicester grabbed a win over Burnley, pushing them to the foot of the table. The 1 – 0 win at Burnley has seen Leicester climb out of the relegation pit, although, they aren’t very far from the danger zone yet. Hull City’s two enormous wins have allowed them to climb up to the 15th spot. They have another big test against Arsenal at the weekend and with three more points they can get closer to safety from going down. Presently QPR and Sunderland, along with Burnley are struggling at the foot of the table, but out of those three Sunderland have a one game advantage over the others. It is very tight at the bottom of the table and things can become more competitive as we can almost see the finish line.

The 2015 NFL draft is here as we sit less than 24 hours from the announcement of the first overall pick from Roger Goodell. While some may still wonder who that pick will be it sounds more and more likely that player will be Jameis Winston out of Florida State.

Now before we get into a real quick first day draft preview as well as a few draft sleepers from this years draft we wanted to run down our opinion on the top two quarterbacks in this year’s draft. At this point everyone has an opinion on whether Winston or Marcus Mariota should be the first quarterback off the board.

When we look at these two quarterbacks they both have shown the ability to win and win on a consistent basis. The advantage for us is Winston who not only shown in the National Title game he can put his team in position to win the game but also capitalize. Flash back two years when he led the Seminoles down the field against the Auburn Tigers finding Kelvin Benjamin for the go ahead touchdown with less than a minute remaining.

Mariota on the other hand helped guide the Ducks to a terrific regular season record but couldn’t find a win to propel them into the National Title game. That being said each of these quarterbacks are a gamble with a selection in the top 10. This could be a draft that we find another Russell Wilson in one of the later rounds.

Since we got that out of the way lets break down what we expect to happen on the first day of the 2015 NFL Draft starting with Winston being taking with the number one overall pick. While the rumors continue to pop up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will trade the pick we still don’t see a team in the NFL giving up multiple first round picks for a quarterback that won’t become Andrew Luck.

Following Winston we expect the Tennessee Titans to keep their mouths quiet all day till finding a trading partner minutes before their pick. This is move that allows them to move back a few picks, pick up a few extra picks and potentially land a proven NFL ready quarterback. One of those teams we could see moving up is the Cleveland Browns who currently have two first round picks in this year’s draft.

After these two picks are off the board this is where the first day of the NFL Draft could get real crazy starting with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars currently hold on to the third overall pick a move that should see Leonard Williams or Dante Fowler in Jacksonville next year. One potential move here that no one has been talking about is the Miami Dolphins moving up to jump the Oakland Raiders for Amari Cooper.

Keeping up with the wide receiver position we expect not only Cooper to go in the top ten but Kevin White and Devante Parker to also land within those same picks. This wide receiver class might not be the class of last year but from what we see a few years from now we might have more top tier talent from this class than last year. Yes we know the names of Odell Beckham, Mike Evans and Sammy Watkins but this years class is very deep. Overall we expect anywhere from seven to ten wide receivers going in the first round.

Sticking with the offensive side of the ball other key first round selections include running backs Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon. The rumors of late have Gurley as the top running back in this draft with some experts pointing Gurley as a top 10 pick. While we love Gurley this seems crazy to us after multiple years without a running back going in the first round then we have one coming off a major injury going in the middle of the first round?

Now on the defensive side of the ball this might be one of the weaker draft classes for the secondary position with Trae Waynes set to be the first cornerback to come off the board. Outside of Waynes, Kevin Johnson and Marcus Peters should both hear their name on the first day but we aren’t sure any other name should come off the board.

For us we honestly don’t get to excited about many of the first round defensive players or any lineman. That’s just us and before you say anything we know they are very key players but with Shane Ray in some trouble along with Randy Gregory the one other name that really stands out for us is Vic Beasley. So we decided to turn this into more of a draft about the offense.

Here are a few of our sleepers that will get overlooked at in this draft that we could see being a key contributor as soon as next season.

Darren Waller, Georgia Tech: You won’t hear us compare him to Calvin Johnson or Demaryius Thomas as well as draft bust Stephen Hill. Waller possesses great size at six foot six inches along with terrific speed at 4.46. While many experts have been quiet on Waller we like him a lot and understand his offensive numbers are skewed based on the type of system he played in.

Garrett Grayson, Colorado State: While all the talk has been about Winston and Mariota as well as Brett Hundley. Grayson could be the sleeper quarterback that could become the next Russell Wilson. Only downside is his lack of height and weight that many have concerns about playing at the NFL level.

David Johnson, Northern Iowa: All eyes have been on Gurley and Gordon this draft but a name to keep on file is David Johnson out of Northern Iowa. Johnson has good size at six foot one inches and 224 pounds as well as the strength to be an everyday running back. Johnson is a physical style running back but also will make plays out of the backfield with his soft hands.
