Why You Should Be Watching Women’s FIFA World Cup 2015

0

why should be watching womens fifa cup 2015Women’s soccer hardly gets the attention it is worthy of. The major European leagues concluded last month and if you’re looking forward to some good soccer this month, you can certainly switch on to the Copa America and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 in Canada. The Women’s World Cup has already advanced to the round of 16 and it has been thrilling event so far.

China, Germany, France, Australia and the hosts Canada have already cemented their place in the quarter finals of the tournament. Netherlands, USA and England are the favourites to join them. The reigning World champions, Japan, face Holland in these first knockout stages. On July 5th one team will lift the gold in Canada and it surely will be an intense contest in this road to the final.

Here are a few reasons which may compel you to tune in to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015.

  1. You won’t have to compromise on quality

It is a myth that women’s soccer lacks skills and beautiful goals. Some goals scored in the group stages of the tournament have been simply amazing. The footwork of some of the players is just incredible and highly entertaining. The teams are tactically strong and the thrill in these closely matched games can put one on the edge of his seat.

  1. No lack of aggression

The women’s game play is as competitive as men’s soccer. It is the grandest stage in world football for the ladies and they are certainly putting in everything they’ve got to lay their hands on the golden trophy. The stadiums are jam packed and recently in a match against Switzerland,  Canada’s women team set a new Canadian attendance record for an international soccer match with 53,588 spectators.

womens fifa world cup 20153.  Underdogs can cause upsets

No one really dislikes a good underdog story. Well, there can be a few upsets as we build up to that grand finale. Many of the underdogs have a good chance of reaching the final on July 5th. Australia stunned Brazil on June 21st to advance to the last eight. Not many heavyweights except Brazil have been knocked out so far but the competition is getting fiercer by the day as we’re nearing the end.

  1. First ever FIFA World Cup on artificial turf

For the first time in the history of the tournament, we’re witnessing a change in the surface of the football pitch. Despite many complaints from female coaches and players, the World Cup is being held on an artificial surface. How this experiment affects the game/players will be a superficial factor worth watching out for.

  1. No quality club competitions

Most of the European clubs are trying to strengthen themselves in order to prepare for the next campaign. The players are switching clubs within and even outside their respective leagues. In July, most of the teams will be engaging in pre-season friendlies. The European giants are actively participating in the summer transfer window for next year’s Champions League and domestic competitions.

Hack Can’t Stop Cardinals: National League Week 10

cardinals continue winning despite hack national league 2015The baseball season continues to cruise along in the National League leaving us one question to be answered. That question is can any team in the National League derail the St. Louis Cardinals as the top team? At the moment it doesn’t look like it as the team has managed to win seven of their past ten games to become the first team in Major League Baseball to reach not only 40 wins but 41 wins.

This success is hard for many experts and fans to put their hands on as the team lost top prospect Oscar Taveras this off-season and then Adam Wainwright after a strong start of the season. That being said the team has managed to outscore opponents by 68 runs over their first 62 games.

The more amazing part to the Cardinals success this season is been the teams pitching performance. Overall the Cardinals are the only team not only in the National League but the American League as well that has allowed under 200 runs through the first third of the season.

Now we will take a look at each of the three National League Divisions as well as how each team has played over the past week.

East Division: The National League East is shaking up much like the American League East as no one team has yet to pull away with the division. Currently the New York Mets hold a slight half game lead over the Washington Nationals as teams got play started on Monday evening.

Following the Nationals in the division is the Atlanta Braves at 30-33, the Miami Marlins at 27-37 and the Philadelphia Phillies at 22-41. All five of these clubs have struggled over the past ten games with no team in the division at above the .500 mark with the Phillies winning just one over that stretch.

Last week the Mets opened up the week losing back to back games to the San Francisco Giants before picking up the final game of the three game series. The success continued on Friday with a 5-3 win over the Braves before splitting the next two games. The question many Mets fans and experts are asking is what is wrong with Matt Harvey.

Entering the last week of May, Harvey had composed a record of 5-1 with a 1.98 earned run average. Since that point the Mets ace has seen his record drop to 6-4 after losing three of his last four starts while his earned run average has ballooned to 3.62.

Meanwhile the Nationals managed to play to just a 3-4 record over the past week. The good news for fans has been the play of Max Scherzer on the mound over the past few weeks. This included one of the top starts this season that any starter had made on Saturday.

Scherzer fired a one hit complete game shutout while striking out 16, Milwaukee Brewers hitters. The Nationals ace lowered his earned run average to 1.93 while improving his record to 7-5 after taking a perfect game into the seven inning of Saturdays contest.

Central Division: Can the Pittsburgh Pirates or Chicago Cubs find a way to drop the Cardinals out of the top spot in the Central Division? That being said the division had a chance to make up some ground last week as the Cardinals managed to win just three of their five contests.

Now before we take a look at the rest of the division we wanted to take a deeper look into how well the Cardinals pitching has performed this season. As we look at the rotation Michael Wacha has anchored the ace roll as he currently leads the team in wins and earned run average. Along with Wacha, Carlos Martinez has pitched to a 2.93 earned run average while John Lackey has a 3.74 and Lance Lynn with a 3.07.

The team’s bullpen has been brilliant as well including closer Trevor Rosenthal who has allowed two earned runs over his first 30.1 innings. The teams setup man Kevin Siegrist has been as dominate allowing just five earned runs over 27.2 innings.

Following the Cardinals in the standings are the Pirates who managed to play to a to a 4-2 record last week. That included a three game sweep over the weekend against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Pirates could have picked up wins in all six contests as the team managed to score just one run in two loses while allowing just six runs.

The Cubs sit in third place followed by the Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers.

West Division: The talk going into this week will be regarding the San Diego Padres who elected to let go longtime manager Bud Black on Monday. This comes after a very disappointing start to what looked to be a promising season for the club after the front office rebuilt the team’s entire offense.

Overall the club sat at 32-33 after Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers at home. Now looking at the top of the division the Dodgers have rebuilt a few game lead over the San Francisco Giants after the team managed to lose four straight games including being swept over the weekend by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Meanwhile the Dodgers got a strong piece of their outfield mix back as Yasiel Puig has recently returned to the lineup to provide another key bat to team up with rookie Joc Pederson. Rounding out the division is the Diamondbacks in fourth and Colorado Rockies in last place despite the recent success of Troy Tulowitzki.

Now that we have taken a look at each of the divisions around Major League Baseball we can take a look at a few individuals. Here is our list of top individual performers over the past week around Major League Baseball.

joey votto hot reds bottom boy national league 2015Joey Votto, Cincinnati Reds: Votto put together a strong week after really big performance to start the week against the Phillies. In that contest, Votto homered three teams while driving in four runs. The Reds first baseman would add two doubles and a fourth home run over the weekend.

Giancarlo Stanton, Miami Marlins: The Marlins outfielder has probably been the hottest hitter in all of baseball over the past week. In seven games, Stanton managed to pick up four doubles, five home runs and 12 runs batted in.

American League Week 10: Blue Jays Continue Flying High

blue jays continue flying high 2015 imagesThe American League action continues to be an up and down roller coaster, as June is nearly half gone. This past week yielded us some strong play in the American League East as the Toronto Blue Jays continue to ride a Major League best eleven game in streak.

Meanwhile in the other two divisions in the American League neither of the top two teams could manage to build on their league lead. The Houston Astros who was one of the hotter teams in Major League Baseball is now one of the coldest teams losing eight of their past ten games.

Over in the Central Division the Minnesota Twins took a step back into second place as the Kansas City Royals managed to move back into first place. The Royals played to a 5-5 record over their last ten games while the Twins have won just three games over their last ten.

The strong play by the Royals has been noticed around the country and fans have flocked to the All-Star voting ballots. The Royals currently have eight of the ten starters with their third member of their outfield fighting for the ninth spot. While this has many fans scratching their heads for now the votes continue to come in for the Royals.

Now we will take a look at each of the three American League Divisions as well as how each team has played over the past week.

East Division: The American League East division continues to provide us with some fire works over the first two months of the season. The latest has come from the Toronto Blue Jays who picked up wins in all six of their games this past week extending their win streak to 11 games.

In the six game stretch the Blue Jays picked up three game sweeps over the Miami Marlins before taking three in a row at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox. The Blue Jays have been able to do this with both their bats and pitching scoring double digits in three of the six games. Meanwhile their pitching allowed four or fewer runs in four of the six games.
Following up the Blue Jays was the Baltimore Orioles who opened the week sweeping the Red Sox. The Orioles followed up the hot start taking two of three over the weekend from the New York Yankees. Much of the team’s hot success could be related to the teams activation of Matt Wieters from the disabled list as well as the call up of Nolan Reimold.

Rounding out the rest of the American League East was the Tampa Bay Rays who played to a 4-2 record, the Yankees who finished at 2-3 and the Red Sox who failed to pick up a win in six games. That being said the Yankees and Rays still hold the top spot in the division.

Central Division: In the Central Division the race between the top three teams have heated up as the Royals and Twins both entered Monday with 34 wins followed by the Detroit Tigers who had 33. That being said the Royals managed to move atop the division after the Twins managed to win just one of heir six games last week.

That included losing three in a row at home against the Royals. In the series the Royals pitching held the Twins offense in line allowing just three runs over the three game series. The team’s offense struggled again on Friday managing just two runs against the Texas Rangers before putting seven runs on the board on Saturday.

The Tigers who had struggled the past few weeks posted a 3-2 record behind some big hitting from the games top power hitter Miguel Cabrera. In the five games, Cabrera managed to pick up ten hits including one double, two home runs, five runs scored and seven runs knocked in.

Rounding out the rest of the division is the Cleveland Indians who sit in fourth place at 29-33 followed by the Chicago White Sox at 28-33.

West Division: The final division we will take a look at is the American League West division. While we have seen the Houston Astros struggle of late picking up just two wins over their last ten games. The team still sits in first place by 2.5 games over the Rangers despite the Rangers winning six of their past ten games.

Much of the Astros concerns have been with their offense leading the club to call up their top prospect Carlos Correa late in the week. The club opened up the week losing three straight games to the Chicago White Sox. In the series the Astros managed just four runs while the teams pitching allowed just 11 total runs.

The team followed the performance up with a strong two wins over the weekend outscoring the struggling Seattle Mariners 23-0 in those contest. The Astros would drop the middle game of the three game series 8-1 as the offense failed to show up on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Rangers continue to be one of the hotter teams in baseball going 3-3 to make up some ground on the Astros. The other team to watch in the division is the Los Angeles Angels who picked up series wins against both the Rays and Oakland A’s.

Now that we have taken a look at each of the divisions around Major League Baseball we can take a look at a few individuals. Here is our list of top individual performers over the past week around Major League Baseball.

joey gallo replaced adrian beltre rangers 2015 american leagueJoey Gallo, Texas Rangers: The Rangers top prospect continues to play well after being called up for the injured Adrian Beltre. Gallo picked up five hits last week including two home runs.

Russell Martin, Toronto Blue Jays: Martin picked up at least one hit in all five games last week including three multi hit performances. In all the Blue Jays catcher had nine hits with one double, one triple and two home runs while driving in eight runs.

It’s “Okay” Being Commercially Exploited by the Internet

0

online commerical shopping 2015Captain America: The Winter Soldier is one of my favorite movies to date. Not just because I’m a fan of Marvel Studios’ films but because, it’s a genuinely intense, action packed and well-written movie. It very much reflects the issues we have with privacy and security. How the government and various companies harvest the people’s information without their knowledge or consent for monitoring and other uses. The film’s antagonists planned to use the harvested information to find all individuals who currently or will someday pose a threat to their organization by means of extrapolation. Much like what the NSA has been doing. The nature of the screenplay might be a coincidence since domestic surveillance by the NSA was then a very hot topic.

But it’s not just the government. Major corporations have been harvesting consumer data ever since credit cards were invented, maybe even before. Who bought what, what was bought when, is it bought every day by whom? There was no internet back then, hardly any privacy concerns, but we get hints of data storage and monitoring in the movies when the authorities want to catch someone still on the grid. Now we have the internet and data flows in torrents (literally) to government agencies and private corporations. Many stores now have membership/discount cards that give customers rewards points for every purchase but can actually be used by stores to monitor the movement of goods and customer buying habits. Retail companies collectively earn millions through proper decision making but dole out just a few dollars in exchange. These rewards, come in the form of discounts, cash equivalents or special privileges and consumers just keep coming to subscribe unknowingly letting marketers know their weekly Maalox intake or their obsession with Twinkies.

Online, it’s no different. All purchases, transactions and transmissions can be traced through the ubiquitous e-mail address used to subscribe to most, if not all internet-based services. Memberships to email, social media and other services are mostly free, and many of us know at the back of our heads that these email addresses and personal info such as first name, last name, current address and age which we use to gain access to these services will be used for something instead of just some electronic equivalent of membership form. It seems okay and the government and these corporations suggest it is, but it’s really not.

According to three academics from the University of Pennsylvania, contrary to popular belief, people online don’t like having their privacy invaded as a tradeoff for safety and personal freedom. They published a report called: Tradeoff Fallacy: How Marketers are Misinterpreting American Consumers and Opening Them Up for Exploitation. The title says it all but it’s still best to elaborate.

internet commercial exploitationWhat the paper says, is that marketers are spreading information that many consumers are content to the sharing and use of some of their personal data short of their social security numbers, in exchange for free memberships and usage of various internet services as well as discounts and other privileges from retail companies. But according to the surveys used to prepare the report, most consumers aren’t really comfortable their data is shared to unknown parties or used for an entity’s self-serving purposes. That they aren’t okay that their data will be used in exchange for the free services, discounts and other privileges including targeted ads.

Some respondents however are resigned to the fact that there’s no such thing as a free lunch. That whatever they enter in the fields of online membership forms will be used for something as payment for free use of services such as email, FTP file transfer and downloads, use of social media like Facebook (which has been accused of several privacy violations). Most of the other respondents who are aware, are resigned to the fact as well but don’t like the idea and are powerless to do anything about it. It’s like saying, ‘do what you want but it doesn’t mean I’ll like it.’ Another analogy would be submitting one’s self to a public utility such as electricity and be at the mercy of the provider when it comes to prices. The internet today has reached that level of necessity that it’s basically as important as electricity or a landline phone. The net neutrality law is based on that premise.

arnim zola winter soldier internet privacy statement 2015As Arnim Zola said: “Humanity has to give up its freedom willingly…” The internet has evolved into something of such importance that users are willing to share some personal data not knowing the extent of how such data could be used. That data also includes searches and Google is about to capitalize on that too by including a ‘buy’ button on product-related search results.

trying to have internet privacy inventions 2015And speaking of search results, it’s indeed disconcerting knowing that someone’s over your shoulder watching your internet activity. One instance, though it may be coincidental was when yours truly searched for a product on Google, and minutes later, saw an ad on Facebook related to that product. That was fast unless Google already pre-sold my search to Facebook and vice-versa.

So basically, there’s no real internet privacy at least for people who use a smartphone, have an email address or has subscribed to anything on the internet. That data will be mined and monitored for statistics, marketing, political and security purposes. The only real way to use the internet is to browse, not sign up for anything, including an email address and make use of rental PCs at different internet shops to avoid having a consistent IP. It’s “okay” to be commercially exploited by the internet, if you really want to use it.

System Mechanic : A Must Have for Computer Defense

System Mechanic is a fantastic software that is produced by Iolo and available for use with Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

The tool works alongside your existing antivirus programs and provides some additional services including performance management, system clean-up and also works to tighten the overall security of your system making it much harder for viruses to get in to start with.

The installation of system mechanic takes just a couple of minutes and unless you are an advanced user there is nothing to think about – it’s just a case of following an install wizard and accepting all of the default settings.

Once system mechanic is installed you are presented with the system mechanic dashboard which gives you a few pieces of information about the program including the expiry period.

system mechanic pro review images 2015Most importantly on this dashboard you will see a notification that system analysis is required – this is basically the program asking to do an initial scan of your system where it will assess the overall state of your computer and will highlight any performance or security issues that are currently present in the system as well as providing recommended resolutions for each issue that is found.

Clicking on analyse now will start this process at the end of which you get an easy to understand list of the issues found. Once you are presented with any issues you have the option of looking at the issues one at a time and decided whether to go ahead with the suggested resolution or simply accepted all of the recommendations and letting system mechanic do its job – we chose the later.

system mechanic pro download speed images 2015When we tested the software this initial clean-up consisted of 8 stages and performed actions such as clearing out all temporary files on the system and implementing some advanced security measures to make the system less vulnerable to attacks.

One of the most useful tools that will be presented to you as part of this initial clean-up is the windows start-up optimization wizard. This wizard looks at all of the programs that are configured to start up when you turn on your computer and presents you with some very easy to understand information about each one. The best part is that next to each start up program you will see two ratings from the community of system mechanic users showing how many users elected to keep each program installed and how many chose to remove each program. This makes it very easy to see programs that are generally considered to be bad for your computer.

Ongoing maintenance

Once the initial clean-up has completed system mechanic will then continue to run in the background performing regular checks on your computer in terms of performance and security and will flag any issues that arise along the way.

The dashboard will also alert you to any potential issues or actions that need to be taken – such as memory defragmentation and also any new programs that need to be assessed for safety.

During testing we added some spoof entries to the computer’s internal DNS table – a common way in which viruses and Trojans force users to unwittingly visit fraudulent or malicious websites – and were very impressed to see that system mechanic picked up this activity and instantly removed these entries from the system.

The main advantage of system mechanic is that it keeps your system clean, removes unwanted programs and also monitors activity for any vulnerabilities that wouldn’t normally be picked up by your antivirus protection but there are also some other cool features including LiveBoost which is a proprietary feature of system mechanic and works with your PC to optimise CPU, memory and disk activity in order to ensure the best performance is always being leveraged by your machine.

Overall the program is a very effective tool that can work in conjunction with your antivirus and other security programs that will increase the performance and the security of your computer. The program manages to carry out all of these tasks with as little interaction from the user as possible whilst also providing enough information to enable you to understand and threats that do arise and what has been done to secure those threats.

As a plus, one of you lucky readers can get your hands on a free copy of System Mechanic by just Tweeting about it to us @movietvtechgeek with hashtag #SystemMechanic & #MovieTVTechGeeks. That’s it and we’ll select a winner by July 20, 2015.

Generation One Megatron Dilemma: Putting Orange Tips On 3D Guns

0

orange tips for 3d printed guns megatron dilemma fix 2015We all know Megatron from Michael Bay’s Transformers movies. He’s been an alien jet, a tank, a rundown truck and recently a Freightliner Argosy Truck. But older fans know him best in the first Transformers cartoon as transforming into a Walther P-38 handgun. No other alternate mode comes off as menacing despite transforming into something small. Few fans enjoy him in such a mode due to a United States ban on plastic gun replicas unless these replicas have orange barrel tips (ugly for sure). But that unfortunately still doesn’t stop some cops from shooting boys that carry orange-tipped guns. The Generation One or G1 Megatron gun mode looked real enough to be mistaken for the real thing, so that toy was banned unless it also had orange tips. So Megatron underwent several changes that enable him to transform into anything else but an earth pistol. If Americans got so worked up over a plastic toy gun, imagine the situation now with real, lethal 3D-printed “plastic” guns that can get past security.

The invention of 3D printers has opened up a Pandora’s Box in the US. 3D printers can print almost anything and that includes fully functional plastic guns. Fully functional, meaning that even though these guns aren’t made of metal, they can be just as harmful and deadly. 3D printers are a boon for gun enthusiasts and other people who want to own fully functional highly personalized guns from designs of any make and model. Imagine a gun that looks like a TOS Star Trek phaser but can still shoot real bullets or a steampunk pistol with the innards of a Glock 45 (not giving any ideas here), but the 3D printing situation is a nightmare for security and law enforcement. These guns aren’t detectable using metal detectors, wands, airport scanners and x-ray machines unless it has metal components. Orange tips can’t help since these guns are the deadly kind meaning that 3D printed guns render traditional gun control laws useless. The only way these guns can really be detected is by a thorough tap and baggage search which nullifies the convenience of modern metal detectors in public places. Imagine long lines of people going into the mall, schools or the airport as if Apple was having a free iPhone day.

3d guns megatron dilemma 2015So Democrat Representatives are proposing a ban on the production of entirely plastic guns called the Undetectable Firearms Modernization Act headed by Representative Steve Israel (D-N.Y.). Banning 3D printed guns is a sensitive issue as voiced in some forums that any act to keep American citizens from accessing firearms is unconstitutional and that the act attempts to suppress the adoption of 3D printers in gunsmithing. The act doesn’t necessarily mean that people with 3D printers can’t print non-metallic guns. The act imposes on people who want to print their own guns to include an important gun component that must be made of metal (This could start a boom on the firearms parts industry). It’s not specified which part but according to the older Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988 signed by former president Ronald Reagan, the component must be at least 3.7 ounces in weight.

The new Undetectable Firearms Modernization Act is an extension of the aforementioned act which was made since the advent of non-metallic guns like the Glock 17. The law has been extended several times and the new act is more of a renewal that covers 3D printed guns. The act has been inevitable ever since the first 3D gun was printed. This was further enforced when the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) had a series of failures to detect non-metallic weapons smuggled by undercover federal agents through airport security. There was a nine-five percent failure rate in which many of the busiest airports in the US failed the tests. Representative Israel argues that if metallic weapons can sometimes be smuggled through airport security, what of non-metallic guns, explosives and other weapons? Heads rolled at the TSA because of this failure and addressing the issue of printed handguns became more important.

3D printed pistols are considered legal in the US for personal use only, even though they’re not subject to registration procedures like conventional handguns. However, since their materials cannot be detected by metal detectors, they’re illegal under the Undetectable Firearms Act. 3D gunsmiths can get past the second problem by including detachable metal strips. These strips however won’t prevent criminals and psychos from removing them and getting past security. The new act is intended to close this loophole and prevent deviants who can afford 3D printing materials and equipment from creating security proof firearms. Closing the metal strip loophole however raises the firearms accessibility issue in the United States as the metal parts needed to complete the gun may need to be regulated, or at worst, 3D printing equipment themselves need to be regulated since determined misfits can still print those parts.

To sum it all up, the Undetectable Firearms Modernization Act is the proverbial orange plastic tip for 3D printed plastic handguns, except it acts just the opposite. It can’t completely stop criminals from printing an entirely plastic gun but at least there’s something that says a 3D printed gun is not a toy. Again, a sore sight on what is otherwise an engineering masterpiece. Since the new act is a Democrat bill, let’s see what the Republicans have to improve on it.

Top 10 Best Scary Father’s Day Movies For Dad

best twisted fathers day movies 2015 imagesIf you’re a horror lover right along with your dad, it might be a great idea to sit down with him this Father’s Day and watch a classic creepy father oriented movie. Here are 10 horror films that are great for celebrating even the evilest of Dads!

The Shining: This movie is a classic horror film and one of the best “father goes crazy” films of all time. A man moves his family to a large, empty hotel for a harsh winter as a caretaker and to give him peace to complete his next book. Slowly, the isolation drives the father mad (along with some particularly evil spirits from the hotel) and causes him to try and murder his entire family. Although the film is a butchered representation of the original Stephen King story it was supposed to be based on, it’s still a horror movie to be respected in its own right.

Dylann Roof’s Explanation Manifesto of Hatred & Photos

Dylann Roof's Explanation Manifesto of Hatred 2015 imagesUnlike many mass shooters of the past decade, Dylann Roof, wanted to fully explain himself on why he chose to murder nine churchgoers at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. He left a website (now taken down) full of photos of himself in different locations along with a lengthy manifesto which targeted blacks, Hispanics and Jews, obviously attempting to rationalize his actions.

His actions feel like someone looking for attention and hoping to draw many sympathizers to his cause as his final words of the manifesto state, “someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me.” You can read the full unedited manifesto version below and see that this sounds like someone hoping that others will adopt it much like happened with the Turner Diaries.

dylann roof confederate flag truck 2015It’s not a surprise that his actions were fully thought out as he registers the web site on February 9 and made updates to it on Wednesday, just hours before killing the church group.

Roof was arrested Thursday about 250 miles north of Charleston, in Shelby, N.C., and is being held on $1 million bond. He has been charged with nine counts of murder and one count of possessing a firearm while committing a violent crime. He is in solitary confinement in the Charleston County jail and, according to county police, is on a suicide watch.

dylann roof sitting outside 2015Roof’s manifesto makes a point to state the what truly wok him up was the Trayvon Martin case, where George Zimmermann shot an unarmed black high school student, claiming self-defense. He was found not guilty, and somehow this inspired Roof to attend a Bible study class for a lengthy period of time and then shoot unarmed church members.

For a ninth grade drop-out, Roof uses some rather sophisticated language and reveals an extremely deep rage towards minorities, especially blacks along with proclaiming a strong belief in racist stereotypes that many American have claimed have long been forgotten. This is truly a wake up call for those that continue trying to say that racism is over in America as this just isn’t one person’s beliefs. Roof’s beliefs are shared by a shockingly large number of American citizens, and this is who the young man is hoping to gather in his crusade. Don’t be surprised if he tries to continue his beliefs behind bars where certain groups will quickly welcome him with open arms.

dylann roof outside night 2015Authorities and people who have spoken to survivors of the massacre have said that Roof spent an hour with the Bible study group in the landmark Charleston church before methodically executing nine of its members with a handgun. He stopped to reload five times and spared one woman so she could tell the story of what he had done, according to some. Two people, a woman and a 5-year-old girl, escaped.

“I have to do it,” the shooter told his victims, according to Sylvia Johnson, cousin of a pastor who died in the attack, who spoke to a survivor. “You rape our women, and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go.”

dylann roof on plantation 2015According to a state lawmaker who had been briefed by police, Roof told authorities that he “almost didn’t go through with it because they were so nice to him.”

Joey Meek Jr., a friend of Roof’s, has said that when Roof was drunk he spoke of “wanting to hurt a whole bunch of people.” But Meek said he shrugged it off because Roof was drinking.

dylann roof gravesideRoof has acknowledged to authorities that he was responsible for Wednesday night’s rampage and that he wants his actions known, according to law enforcement officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation was continuing.

Roof lived on and off with several friends in a trailer in Red Bank, S.C., before the shooting. Court records indicate that he had a fractured family life and that his father divorced twice. Detailed records of the second divorce case, obtained by Britain’s Daily Mail, showed a volatile and abusive relationship between Roof’s father, Franklin Roof, and his stepmother, Paige Mann. Their divorce was finalized about the time that Roof dropped out of high school.

dylann roof african ancestors burialFranklin Roof answered the door to his home Saturday and told a reporter to leave. Mann could not be reached for comment. A close relative of Mann’s, who declined to give his name because of safety concerns, said the family situation was a “mess.”

“But did anybody see this coming?” he said. “Doubtful.”

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x454Pat Hines, the South Carolina state chairman of the League of the South, an organization that wants Southern states to secede from the United States, said Roof did not appear to belong to any white supremacist groups and could have been indoctrinated on the Internet.

“I think [his view] was probably heavily influenced by what he read online,” Hines said. “He’s not in any of our rolls or directories, nor are his parents.”

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x475-001The League of the South, which calls for a white-led society, is one of 19 organizations in South Carolina classified as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

“I cannot ever see the League of the South encouraging anybody to do anything so bizarre,” Hines said. “It only accomplishes the heartache of these families. It doesn’t advance the standing of the Southern people. We’re sorry it happened in South Carolina.”

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x424Among neo-Confederate and white nationalist groups, Zimmerman’s shooting of Martin was a major event. In its aftermath, a Web site operated by the Council of Conservative Citizens, another alleged hate group, received more than 170,000 page views in a day.

Here is the full unedited test of Dylann Roof’s manifesto:

I was not raised in a racist home or environment. Living in the South, almost every White person has a small amount of racial awareness, simply beause [sic] of the numbers of negroes in this part of the country.

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x475-005But it is a superficial awareness. Growing up, in school, the White and black kids would make racial jokes toward each other, but all they were were jokes.

Me and White friends would sometimes would watch things that would make us think that ‘blacks were the real racists’ and other elementary thoughts like this, but there was no real understanding behind it.

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x475-006The event that truly awakened me was the Trayvon Martin case. I kept hearing and seeing his name, and eventually I decided to look him up.

I read the Wikipedia article and right away I was unable to understand what the big deal was. It was obvious that Zimmerman was in the right.

But more importantly this prompted me to type in the words ‘black on White crime’ into Google, and I have never been the same since that day.

dylann storm south africaThe first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White murders. I was in disbelief.

At this moment I realized that something was very wrong. How could the news be blowing up the Trayvon Martin case while hundreds of these black on White murders got ignored?

From this point I researched deeper and found out what was happening in Europe. I saw that the same things were happening in England and France, and in all the other Western European countries.

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x475Again I found myself in disbelief. As an American we are taught to accept living in the melting pot, and black and other minorities have just as much right to be here as we do, since we are all immigrants.

But Europe is the homeland of White people, and in many ways the situation is even worse there. From here I found out about the Jewish problem and other issues facing our race, and I can say today that I am completely racially aware.

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x535vBlacks

I think it is is fitting to start off with the group I have the most real life experience with, and the group that is the biggest problem for Americans.

N****rs are stupid and violent. At the same time they have the capacity to be very slick. Black people view everything through a racial lense [sic].

Thats [sic] what racial awareness is, its viewing everything that happens through a racial lense [sic].

They are always thinking about the fact that they are black. This is part of the reason they get offended so easily, and think that some thing [sic] are intended to be racist towards them, even when a White person wouldnt [sic] be thinking about race. The other reason is the Jewish agitation of the black race.

Black people are racially aware almost from birth, but White people on average dont [sic] think about race in their daily lives. And this is our problem. We need to and have to.

Say you were to witness a dog being beat by a man. You are almost surely going to feel very sorry for that dog. But then say you were to witness a dog biting a man. You will most likely not feel the same pity you felt for the dog for the man. Why? Because dogs are lower than men.

This same analogy applies to black and White relations. Even today, blacks are subconsciously viewed by White people are [sic] lower beings. They are held to a lower standard in general. This is why they are able to get away with things like obnoxious behavior in public. Because it is expected of them.

Modern history classes instill a subconscious White superiority complex in Whites and an inferiority complex in blacks. This White superiority complex that comes from learning of how we dominated other peoples is also part of the problem I have just mentioned. But of course I dont [sic] deny that we are in fact superior.

I wish with a passion that n****rs were treated terribly throughout history by Whites, that every White person had an ancestor who owned slaves, that segregation was an evil an [sic] oppressive institution, and so on.

Because if it was all it true, it would make it so much easier for me to accept our current situation.

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x475-003But it isnt true. None of it is. We are told to accept what is happening to us because of ancestors wrong doing [sic], but it is all based on historical lies, exaggerations and myths. I have tried endlessly to think of reasons we deserve this, and I have only came back more irritated because there are no reasons.

Only a fourth to a third of people in the South owned even one slave. Yet every White person is treated as if they had a slave owning ancestor. This applies to in the states where slavery never existed, as well as people whose families immigrated after slavery was abolished.

I have read hundreds of slaves narratives from my state. And almost all of them were positive.

One sticks out in my mind where an old ex-slave recounted how the day his mistress died was one of the saddest days of his life. And in many of these narratives the slaves told of how their masters didnt [sic] even allowing whipping on his plantation.

Segregation was not a bad thing. It was a defensive measure. Segregation did not exist to hold back negroes. It existed to protect us from them. And I mean that in multiple ways.

Not only did it protect us from having to interact with them, and from being physically harmed by them, but it protected us from being brought down to their level. Integration has done nothing but bring Whites down to level of brute animals. The best example of this is obviously our school system.

Now White parents are forced to move to the suburbs to send their children to ‘good schools’. But what constitutes a ‘good school’? The fact is that how good a school is considered directly corresponds to how White it is.

I hate with a passion the whole idea of the suburbs. To me it represents nothing but scared White people running. Running because they are too weak, scared, and brainwashed to fight.

Why should we have to flee the cities we created for the security of the suburbs? Why are the suburbs secure in the first place? Because they are White.

The pathetic part is that these White people dont [sic] even admit to themselves why they are moving. They tell themselves it is for better schools or simply to live in a nicer neighborhood. But it is honestly just a way to escape n****rs and other minorities.

But what about the White people that are left behind? What about the White children who, because of school zoning laws, are forced to go to a school that is 90 per cent black?

Do we really think that that White kid will be able to go one day without being picked on for being White, or called a ‘white boy’? And who is fighting for him? Who is fighting for these White people forced by economic circumstances to live among negroes? No one, but someone has to.

Here I would also like to touch on the idea of a Norhtwest [sic] Front. I think this idea is beyond stupid.

Why should I for example, give up the beauty and history of my state to go to the Norhthwest [sic]? To me the whole idea just parralells [sic] the concept of White people running to the suburbs. The whole idea is pathetic and just another way to run from the problem without facing it.

Some people feel as though the South is beyond saving, that we have too many blacks here. To this I say look at history. The South had a higher ratio of blacks when we were holding them as slaves.

Look at South Africa, and how such a small minority held the black in apartheid for years and years. Speaking of South Africa, if anyone thinks that think will eventually just change for the better, consider how in South Africa they have affirmative action for the black population that makes up 80 per cent of the population.

It is far from being too late for America or Europe. I believe that even if we made up only 30 percent of the population we could take it back completely. But by no means should we wait any longer to take drastic action.

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 634x475-004Anyone who thinks that White and black people look as different as we do on the outside, but are somehow magically the same on the inside, is delusional. How could our faces, skin, hair, and body structure all be different, but our brains be exactly the same? This is the nonsense we are led to believe.

Negroes have lower Iqs [sic], lower impulse control, and higher testosterone levels in generals. These three things alone are a recipe for violent behavior.

If a scientist publishes a paper on the differences between the races in Western Europe or Americans, he can expect to lose his job. There are personality traits within human families, and within different breeds of cats or dogs, so why not within the races?

A horse and a donkey can breed and make a mule, but they are still two completely different animals. Just because we can breed with the other races doesnt make us the same.

In a modern history class it is always emphasized that, when talking about ‘bad’ things Whites have done in history, they were White.

dylann storm roof hate crime images 2015 636x358But when we lern [sic] about the numerous, almost countless wonderful things Whites have done, it is never pointed out that these people were White.

Yet when we learn about anything important done by a black person in history, it is always pointed out repeatedly that they were black. For example when we learn about how George Washington carver [sic] was the first n****r smart enough to open a peanut.

On another subject I want to say this. Many White people feel as though they dont [sic] have a unique culture. The reason for this is that White culture is world culture.

I dont [sic] mean that our culture is made up of other cultures, I mean that our culture has been adopted by everyone in the world. This makes us feel as though our culture isnt special or unique.

Say for example that every business man in the world wore a kimono, that every skyscraper was in the shape of a pagoda, that every door was a sliding one, and that everyone ate every meal with chopsticks. This would probably make a Japanese man feel as though he had no unique traditional culture.

I have noticed a great disdain for race mixing White women within the White nationalists community, bordering on insanity it. These women are victims, and they can be saved. Stop.

Dylann Storm Roof charleston sc church shooter 2015Jews

Unlike many White naitonalists [sic], I am of the opinion that the majority of American and European Jews are White.

In my opinion the issues with Jews is not their blood, but their identity. I think that if we could somehow destroy the Jewish identity, then they wouldnt [sic] cause much of a problem.

The problem is that Jews look White, and in many cases are White, yet they see themselves as minorities.

Just like n****rs, most Jews [sic] are always thinking about the fact that they are Jewish. The other issue is that they network. If we could somehow turn every Jew blue for 24 hours, I think there would be a mass awakening, because people would be able to see plainly what is going on.

I dont [sic] pretend to understand why Jews do what they do. They are enigma [sic].

dylann roof charleston church killer 2015 gossipHispanics

Hispanics are obviously a huge problem for Americans. But there are good Hispanics and bad Hispanics.

I remember while watching Hispanic television stations, the shows and even the commercials were more White than our own.

They have respect for White beauty, and a good portion of Hispanics are White. It is a well known fact that White Hispanics make up the elite of most Hispanics [sic] countries. There is good White blood worht [sic] saving in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and even Brasil [sic].

But they are still our enemies.

East Asians

I have great respent for the East Asian races. Even if we were to go extinct they could carry something on.

They are by nature very racist and could be great allies of the White race. I am not opposed at all to allies with the Northeast Asian races.

Patriotism

I hate the sight of the American flag. Modern American patriotism is an absolute joke. People pretending like they have something to be proud [of] while White people are being murdered daily in the streets.

Many veterans believe we owe them something for ‘protecting our way of life’ or ‘protecting our freedom’. But im [sic] not sure what way of life they are talking about. How about we protect the White race and stop fighting for the Jews.

I will say this though, I myself would have rather lived in 1940’s American than Nazi Germany, and no this is not ignorance speaking, it is just my opinion. So I dont [sic] blame the veterans of any wars up until after Vietnam, because at least they had an American [sic] to be proud of and fight for.

An Explanation

To take a saying from a film: ‘I see all this stuff going on, and I dont [sic] see anyone doing anything about it. And it pisses me off’. To take a saying from my favorite film: ‘Even if my life is worth less than a speck of dirt, I want to use it for the good of society.’

I have no choice. I am not in the position to, alone, go into the ghetto and fight.

I chose Charleston because it is most historic city in my state, and at one time had the highest ratio of blacks to Whites in the country.

We have no skinheads, no real KKK, no one doing anything but talking on the internet. Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me.

Unfortunately at the time of writing I am in a great hurry and some of my best thoughts, actually many of them have been to be left out and lost forever. But I believe enough great White minds are out there already.

Please forgive any typos, I didnt [sic] have time to check it.

Dylann Roof’s Father’s Day Filled With Threats

dylann roof father franklin bennett threatsDylann Roof’s father, Franklin Bennett, gets to spend his Father’s Day fielding off death threat calls because of his son’s actions killing nine members of the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. The man, who has been reported as being an extremely abusive husband and father, has contacted authorities saying he is fearing for his life as he’s being harrassed and threatened. In my experience, abusers never take the behavior they have dished out for years very easily.

“The victim states that individuals claiming to be with the Black Panther Party have called several times and left messages stating, ‘I’m coming to see you real soon, buddy boy,'” records say.

“The victim states that another individual claiming to be from the Nation of Islam called and stated that they wanted to interview him and make sure his whole family was there. The victim states he believes that these phone calls are implied threats.”

On Friday, the same day Franklin Roof told cops he was being threatened, he released a statement to the media expressing “shock, grief and disbelief” over his son’s arrest for the Wednesday massacre at a bible study group at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.

Franklin Roof told police the calls have kept him from using his cellphone.

“The victim states that whenever his phone is turned on, that he is constantly receiving calls from restricted numbers that are making harassing comments with implied threats to harm, with the intent to intimidate him and his family,” police records say.

“He has to keep his cellphone turned off in order to stop the calls from coming in. The victim is concerned for his safety as well as his family safety.”

Police have been sitting in cars outside Franklin Roof’s home since after the shooting.

dylann roof gravesideCourt papers that have come to light are showing that during his 10-year marriage to Dylann Roof’s step mother Paige Mann, he was both physically and verbally abusive as reported by the Mail. She stepped forward on Friday to let it be known that some of the blame for Roof’s actions were to be laid on her ex-husbands shoulders.

“He controlled my whereabouts, the checkbook and everything about my life,” she said in an interview.

He threatened that he was “cutting off the electricity and taking my car,” she added.

“On September 20, 2008 my whole world fell apart when Benn and I got into an argument. Benn violently pushed me to the ground and hit me in the back of my head,” she said.

The two divorced in 2009 — and Dylann, then 15, was left with his indifferent father.

Dylann Roof soon quit school altogether, family said, preferring to drift between video games and drugs.

Top 10 Movies To Watch On Father’s Day With Dad

top fathers day movies images 2015Father’s Day is here, and if you’re looking for an inexpensive way to sit down and spend some time with dear-old-dad, why not pop in one of these heart-warming films to remind you just how precious the father/child relationship is? Or find it on Netflix, Hulu or On Demand. These will all be in one of those places!

life is beautiful fathers day 2015Life is Beautiful: Said to be controversial for mixing comedy with a story line about the Holocaust, Life is Beautiful is an amazing Academy Award winning film. The beauty in this film can be found in how far one father will go to save his son from facing the harsh realities of what’s going on around him. The bulk of a film follows a man named Guido and his son as they tragically becomes victims of Holocaust. He uses his bold personality to make his son believe their playing a game while at one of the death camps. His amazingly brave and innovative idea saves his son from the horrors going on around him. Get ready for a tear-jerker ending for the ages!

the pursuit of happyness fathers day 2015The Pursuit of Happyness: In a role that I still believe should have garnered Will Smith an Oscar, a man goes through hell and back to try and provide for his son while facing a life-changing internship. When the man’s wife walks away from the marriage (and her son) the man takes custody of his son, goes through homelessness and tries to make it past one of the toughest internships ever! The best part of the story is that it’s true! What this father does for his child is amazing. He never stops believing that he can make a better life for him and his son. In one scene (similar to the movie Life is Beautiful), the father makes a game out of having to sleep in a train station bathroom because they’re homeless. It’s a movie that makes you cry happy tears over the limitless love of a father.

to kill a mockingbird fathers day 2015To Kill a Mockingbird: A classic book and an even more of a classic film, this is the perfect movie to watch with your father if he likes watching old features. Even if it sounds corny, it’s the shining example of how a father’s influence directly shapes the views of their children. In the beloved story, successful attorney Atticus Finch defends a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman. Keep in mind, this is during the depression-era in the South. Finch also shows his children the negativity of prejudice in hopes they will be different from those in the town. Besides it being a “great white hope” story, it really does drive home the importance of how a father can positively influence his children. With the book’s sequel soon to come out, it will be interesting to see how Finch’s teachings affected his children for the rest of their life.

jack frost fathers day movies 2015Jack Frost: If you need to watch a Father’s Day movie with a younger sibling and your dad, than this movie is perfect! Jack Frost was one of my favorite films as a child. The story starts off tragic: a father who can’t keep his promises dies in a car accident right before Christmas. The following Christmas season, the man returns to life as a snow man in order to do everything he promised with his son. The movie symbolizes a Father’s never-ending love. I think it’s important to point out that the film also shows that sometimes fathers really are doing the best they can.

the family man fathers day movies 2015The Family Man: This movie is a unique take on keeping the positive in perspective about stressful family life. Nicolas Cage plays an ultra-rich investment broker who wakes up one morning to find that instead of having a sports car and a girlfriend, he has a mini-van and wife. Though completely shocked at how ordinary the other half lives, he realizes that the family life provides more happiness than his money could ever provide. A great comedy for a grown father and child.

boyz n the hood fathers day movies 2015Boyz N The Hood: A great film that puts into perspective all some father’s have to go through to turn boys in to men. It’s gritty and should only be watched with adult children, but it does feature an amazingly positive black man as he fights to raise his son right in a rough neighborhood. It’s a nice break on a tired stereotype.

frequency movie fathers day 2015Frequency: A great movie to watch with a sci-fi loving dad, this film follows a son as he accidentally crosses time through a radio link and connects with his father from 30 years ago. The son then tries to save his father’s life, but ends up stirring up some serious trouble. It’s a great drama that makes for an exciting and intriguing watch on Father’s Day afternoon.

taken fathers day movies 2015Taken: Taken, and not the repetitive sequels, is a prime action movie for action loving dads. A retired CIA agent kills just about everyone in a quest to get his daughter back after she is kidnapped during a trip to Paris. It’s Liam Neeson for goodness sake, every father’s hero so, you can’t go wrong when watching one of his films on Father’s Day.

father of the bride best fathers day movies 2015Father of The Bride: This might be a bitter sweet film for dad and his daughter to watch, but it’s still hilarious! The plot is simple: a father finds it hard to let his baby girl walk down the isle. I know my dad is dreading this day so he might find it sweet and sad at the same time. Father of The Bride II where the father is expecting his granddaughter and daughter at the same time is equally hilarious.

the godfather best fathers day movies 2015The GodFather: The Godfather is a classic in every sense of the word and it’s obvious why this is an ideal Father’s Day choice. The story follows the patriarch of a crime dynasty as he struggles to find who will take over his empire. This movie needs no further introduction. You might want to make this one a movie/Father’s day marathon and sneak in part I and II.

Clippers & Hornets Swap Crap Contracts for Lance Stephenson & Spencer Hawes

0

clippers hornets swap lance stephenson hawes nba 2015After signing Indiana Pacers role player Lance Stephenson to a three-year, $27 million contract last offseason, the Charlotte Hornets have traded the struggling guard to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes.

Stephenson was a starter on the Pacers team with Paul George that won 56 games and made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2014, averaging 13.8 points, over seven rebounds and nearly five assists per game on his way to becoming a star. Well, the Bobcats (now Hornets) in all their wisdom decided to pay him like a star before actually testing him out with a different supporting cast.

“Sometimes when you make a trade or free agent signing it just doesn’t work out for whatever reason,” said Hornets’ general manager Rich Cho when asked about his expensive experiment. “He never fit in great. He is very capable of playing a lot better than he did last year but for whatever reason it wasn’t a good fit. Sometimes you don’t know that until a player actually comes to your team. For whatever reason, he didn’t gel.”

Maybe he just didn’t want to play for the Bobcats. Yeah, they changed the name; but it didn’t make them any better.

Saying the Stephenson didn’t gel is an understatement. By the end of the season, he was an expensive seat warmer who wasn’t even in the rotation. Oh, and his 17 percent shooting from beyond the arc is the worst in NBA history.

We’ll have to wait and see if Stephenson does any better in L.A., but either way the Clippers lucked out—trading away Hawes saves the team from paying the rest of his four-year, $23 million contract. Hawes played in about half of the Clippers games this season, and he just may have the best agent in all of professional sports.

Despite averaging 5.8 points and 3.5 rebounds this past season, Cho seems to think Hawes will fit in well with the Hornets.

“He has the ability to space the floor on offense as an outside shoot, and he’s a great passer with a high basketball IQ.”

Cho’s last big investment worked out well, so why not try again, right?

National League MLB Award Winner Predictions 2015

national league 2015 award winners imagesThe National League continues to produce some fire power a no one team in any of the divisions has really ran away in first place. That being said it should be a pretty fun stretch in the second half as the Mid-Summer classic is slowly approaching.  This also gives us a chance to take a look at the National League Award winners up to this date.

Honestly, the National League might have the best race to watch as we continue to see which rookie will run away with the Rookie of The Year award. Currently we have it as a two man race between the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson and the Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant. Could this race add a few names? You better believe it, as a player like Addison Russell could heat up to put his name into the mix.

bud black fired 2015 movie tv tech geeksAs far as the Manager of the Year award, the early front runner for many is Bud Black who is now on the open market as the San Diego Padres elected to let him go after the team expected big things from this bunch of ball guys. Now one manager that has really put his name into the mix is New York Mets manager Terry Collins. Collins has helped the Mets to the top of the National League East division in a division many had the Washington Nationals in.

Here is our list of award winners in the American League.

terry collins mets manager of year 2015National League Manager of The Year:

Terry Collins, New York Mets: We elected to give the award to the Mets manager over Mike Matheny of the St. Louis Cardinals. While Matheny has helped guide the Cardinals to the best record in the National League many experts had them as a favorite for the Central Division crown. Not many experts had the Mets doing much in the East with a possibility to finish in the middle pack of the teams.

That being said the Mets have done great this year playing to a 36-31 record after starting off as one of the hottest teams in all of baseball. After opening up the season at 2-3, the Mets ran off an 11 game winning streak with series wins over three National League East opponents which is never an easy task to complete.

Outside of these two teams many of the other teams have not lived up to their hype to warrant their manager for consideration.

gerrit cole national leauge cy young award winner 2015National League Cy Young:

Gerrit Cole, Pittsburgh Pirates: This is another race that is very close with two Pittsburgh Pirates fighting for the award. One of those starters is Gerrit Cole and the other is the veteran A.J. Burnett. Before you say anything yes it is the same A.J. Burnett that struggled last year and even mulled retirement before joining the Pirates.

That being said, Cole has been brilliant all season going 10-2 with a 1.71 earned run average over his first 13 starts. This type of success on the mound has helped the Pirates get back into consideration in the Central division as well as within striking distance of the Cardinals for first place just five games back after a slow start.

While Cole is our choice, Burnett has been brilliant as well going 6-2 with a 1.89 earned run average over his first 13 starts as well. Other candidates include Max Scherzer who is 7-5 with a 1.93 earned run average, Zach Greinke with a 5-2 record and 1.95 earned run average and Shelby Miller with a 2.02 earned run average to go with a 5-2 record.

paul goldschmidt national league mvp diamondbacks 2015National League MVP:

Paul Goldschmidt, Arizona Diamondbacks: Before anyone rips me for taking him over Bryce Harper we recommend looking at their numbers as they both stack up and I would be up for a Co-MVP award for these two with Giancarlo Stanton coming in just behind them. This might be one of the better MVP races we have seen and we can only imagine how this race could shape up over the rest of the season.

The Diamondbacks first baseman currently leads all of Major League Baseball with a .363 batting average to go with 15 doubles, 19 home runs, 54 runs batted in and 10 stolen bases. Flip over to Harper, the Nationals outfielder has 14 doubles, 22 home runs, 52 runs batted in and a league high 54 walks with 19 fewer at bats than Goldschmidt.

Then you have Stanton who leads all of Major League Baseball with 24 home runs and 62 runs batted in. Only thing holding the Marlins outfielder out of making this a Tri-MVP award is his batting average that currently sits at .261 for the season.

Outside of these three the only other player really in the mix for the award is Todd Frazier for the Cincinnati Reds. Frazier is hitting .294 with 22 home runs and 46 runs batted in for the season to go with 19 doubles and 48 runs scored.

Kris Bryant national league rookie of the year 2015 movie tv tech geeksNational League Rookie of The Year:

Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs: We are giving the nod to the Cubs third baseman right over Pederson for the Dodgers. Bryant is hitting .295 with eight home runs and 39 runs batted in after appearing in 55 games after waiting for his name to be called up.

While Bryant has taking home the award, Pederson is putting together an unbelievable season as well with no one really calling it before the season. The Dodgers outfielder is currently fifth in the National League with 17 home runs only trailing four players who could be fighting for the MVP award. Pederson has also hit .252 to go with nine doubles, one triple and 33 runs batted in.

One other name to monitor would be Pederson’ s teammate Alex Guerrero who is hitting .287 with 10 home runs and 29 runs batted in.
