Although the year has been rough, the UFC has still managed to make the most out of a plethora of tumultuous situations.
Although the major MMA promotions of today found it too “haunting” to hold an event on Halloween weekend, the week still contained a good deal of news for fans to digest.
Conor McGregor's role as the Flavor Flav of UFC 189 is about complete. The wild Irishman has hyped this pay- per-view up to the absolute max. The guy should get a big percentage of the ppv buys due to his exhaustive efforts to make fans want to plop down the $60 bucks to see this guy in action.
Few underdogs could ever claim they are the baddest man on the planet. Fabricio Werdum is the amazing exception to that rule. The new UFC Heavyweight Champion should not have had to even deal with the underdog label after big wins leading up to his victory over Cain Velasquez.
The release of the 911 call and video aftermath of Jon Jones' hit and run accident has made things a bit worse for the former UFC champion. The video doesn't change what happened of course, but as we saw with the Ray Rice footage it can sure turn up the heat.
Daniel Cormier is better than Jon Jones. Cormier > Jones goes against one of my all-time favorite sports' argument enders....scoreboard. Jon Jones whipped Cormier in the ring when the former champ defended his Light Heavyweight Title, so Jones has to be better right?
UFC 187 lost some luster when Jon Jones got suspended and stripped of his belt. That much is obvious. Still, this event should be well worth the $55 to catch the pay per view.
