Uh oh…yet another divorce in Hollywood. Earlier today, actress Halle Berry announced that she would be splitting from her husband, Olivier Martinez. While the announcement doesn’t explain the reason behind their decision to part ways, it does state:
“We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and more importantly, our children’s privacy as we go through a difficult period.”
Halle and Oliver wed back in July 2013 and have one child together, Maceo, 2. However, sources close to the couple say that their relationship has had issues from the very start. A source reveals, “They had an incredibly passionate bond with one another, but with that comes big highs and lows. They fell madly in love with one another, but at times, it did feel like everything was against them. Whether it was Halle’s difficult relationship with [Nahla’s father] Gabriel [Aubrey], which caused a huge amount of upset for the two of them, or geographical issues.” Often Halle and Oliver found themselves working in different places. Additionally, Oliver preferred staying in his home country of France, while Halle was often in States and travelling for her different movie roles
This is the third divorce for Halle, as she was previously married to Eric Benet from 2001 to 2005 and David Justice from 1992 to 1996.
Time magazine released their 2015 list of the Most Influential Teens. This year’s list included 30 highly successful stars under the age of 20. All of which have made a notable impact on the world. In compiling the list, Time takes “accolades across numerous fields, global impact through social media and overall ability to drive news” into consideration.
On the list, Kylie Jenner is captioned as “arguably the most-watched teenager in the world, commanding an audience of 60 million people across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and her best-selling app.” In an interview with Time Kylie not so humbly reveals, “Everything I do, I always start these huge trends.” However she confesses, “I just want to inspire my fans to be whoever they want to be because that’s what I’ve always done.”
Joining Kylie is her older sister Kendall, who Time claims has an “impressive fashion resume,” as well as the most-liked Instagram in history.
On the other end of the spectrum, Malala Yosafzai is also featured on the list. Yousafzai is honored for her endless efforts towards advocating for girls’ education. She continues to be an inspirational voice for women, years after the Taliban shot her for her desire to learn. It should be noted that she was also the youngest person ever to receive a Nobel Peace Prize.
Also included in Times’ 2015 list is Modern Family’s Ariel Winter, singer Shawn Mendes, as well as Jaden Smith.
