Many people were hoping that Bobbi Kristina Brown’s incident in the bathtub wouldn’t be a case of deja vu, but TMZ is reporting that family members are now saying that drugs were found at her home after a second, more thorough police search.
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family have not left her bedside at North Fulton Hospital since Sunday, but gospel singer and friend Kim Burrell told Access Hollywood that there was a slight sign of hope yesterday. The family friend spoke of how Brown was put into a medically induced coma to keep her brain from swelling along with limiting potential brain damage. She mentioned that there was slight eye movement along with the amount of oxygen getting to her brain increasing significantly.
“We’re still not out of the woods,” Burrell said. ” Her eyes did move a little bit last night. We’re hoping that it’s just not a reflex. We’re hoping that it’s a conscious choice.”
“It’s really about protecting the organs and making sure oxygen is delivered to both the brain and the heart,” Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, a cardiologist and director of the Women’s Heart Health of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, told ET when explaining why someone in Bobbi Kirstina’s condition would be placed on a ventilator.
As of yesterday, no drugs had been found on the premises following a preliminary investigation, and family memberYF Kennedy claimed yesterday that drugs had nothing to do with Bobbi Kristina’s incident. That has quickly changed as TMZ reported that police have found drugs in her home according to family members. Unnamed family members have confirmed that over the weekend, the police went back to search the home more thoroughly, and unlike the first time, they found and seized several items.
The police will not confirm this, but the family members are saying otherwise. Unnamed law enforcement officials have also confirmed to TMZ that they believed from the beginning that drugs were the only explanation for Bobbi Kristina ending up facedown in a bathtub full of water similar to her mother, actress/singerWhitney Houston nearly three years ago. The police source stated that they didn’t find anything in their preliminary investigation because they were only looking for things “out in the open”. The second time was much more thorough.
To complicate things even further, the Daily Mail has reported that records have also revealed Maxwell Byron Lomas, who was with Bobbi Kristina on the day she was found unconscious in the bath tub, had been arrested just a month before for drug distribution.
He was taken into custody on Jan. 14 and later released on $15,000 bond, according to Fulton County Jail records.
Lomas and Bobby Kristina’s husband, Nick Gordon have been friends for the past two years. His 18-year-old girlfriend Danyela Bradley had also become a close friend of Bobbi Kristina.
Lomas was at the couple’s Roswell, Georgia home on Saturday morning when Gordon found his wife unconscious in the bath tub and called 911.
Bobbi Kristina’s family released a statement shortly after father Bobby Brown did yesterday.
Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.
This sad incident comes less two weeks away before the third anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death on Feb. 11, at the Beverly Hilton just hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammys bash.
