While family members rally around her at North Fulton Hospital, Bobbi Kristina Brown is barely holding on while still unconscious, unresponsive and very little brain activity. Nothing has changed sources have said, but the family is continuing to pray for her.
Singer/actress Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s entire family is at her bedside in North Fulton Hospital reports CNN today. The young woman is still alive, but she has not regained consciousness since being found in her home facedown in a bathtub full of water. She is on a respirator but is showing very little brain activity.
CNN has also reported that if Bobbi were to pull through this, doctors claim it would be a “miracle”. “Everyone is holding hands, praying, hoping for the best,” the source adds. “Everyone knows where things are at.” The source also said that doctors had told the family that the longer Brown stays in a coma the more unlikely it will be for her to regain consciousness. Possible funeral arrangements have quietly been discussed also.
Father Bobby Brown released a statement through his lawyer after arriving at the hospital.
“The report that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been taken to the hospital in Atlanta, Georgia is accurate,” read a statement from Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen, the legal counsel for the R&B artist. “No additional information will be forthcoming. Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend found the 21-year-old Saturday face down and unresponsive in a bathtub at her Atlanta-area townhouse.
It has been reported that Lifetime’s unauthorized biopic, “Whitney” added to the stress and pain she was feeling leading up to the three year anniversary. The film claims Whitney was the one who got Bobby hooked on crack. The loss of her mother, the estrangement of her father, the weight of the whole world is a lot to deal with for anyone, but living under the spotlight only makes it even more painful. Rumor has it too that she was wanted to play the part of Whitney in the movie but executive producer and director Angela Bassett turned her down. There has also been a lot of drama with her family because they did not approve of the movie and have spoken out against it without apology. Her aunt and the executor of Whitney’s estate, Pat Houston, released a statement blasting the movie and claimed that she, Cissy Houston (Whitney’s mother) nor Bobbi Kristina where consulted.
Bobbi Kristina made headlines recently for her relationship with Nick Gordon, who was a close family friend and said that Whitney Houston was like a mother to him. That caused a few raised eyebrows for those who were critical of the relationship since the two were raised as siblings. Shortly after her mother’s death, she starred in a Lifetime reality show in 2012 called “The Houston: On Our Own” which also featured Cissy Houston and Gordon.
No drugs were found following a preliminary investigation at Bobbi Kristina’s home, police had said. “We are interviewing all the family members and friends that were at the house at the time,” a police spokesperson told reporters, according to Fox News. “We don’t know that if it was an accident or what this could be.”
Police spokesperson Lisa Holland noted that police had been to the residence recently. Somebody reported a fight there January 23, but nobody answered the door and officers found no evidence of an altercation. Holland did mention that “Her mother died in the very same manner.
Three years ago, Houston was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton on February 11, hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammys bash.
Houston’s autopsy later showed that she had drowned facedown in “extremely hot water” about one foot deep. The Los Angeles County coroner ruled it an accidental drowning with the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” as contributing factors.
Family member YF Kennedy claims that drugs had nothing to do with Bobbi Kristina’s incident, and so far, police have found nothing like that in the home either or any signs of foul play.
