18-year-old Kylie Jenner decided to launch a campaign against bullying, in hopes of combatting the issue that many people her age face. On Instagram, Kylie announced her excitement in launching an Instagram-based campaign called #IAmMoreThan.
Along with a picture saying #IAmMoreThan, the young reality star shared a caption saying:
“I am so excited to launch my new @Instagram campaign #IAmMoreThan. For the next six days, I will be sharing stories of 6 incredible people who have become heroes in their own way by taking #bullying and turning it into something positive. I’ve gotten to talk and bond with all of these people whose stories you will see on my page. I think you will all fall in love with them just like I did. I want to encourage you, my fans, to share something positive about yourselves. I’ll be reading as much as I can so that some of you can be apart of this as well! Let’s do this…#IAmMoreThan #StopBullying”
Kylie Jenner, Instagram Post:
Kylie has had a tough year of criticism herself, following her confession where she admitted she had gotten temporary lip fillers. In addition, she has also received ample backlash for her mature appearance and her relationship with 25-year-old rapper Tyga.
The 18-year-old opened up to her fans in June, admitting she has been bullied since she was 9 (when she began appearing on Keeping Up with the Kardashians). In a series of SnapChat Videos, the star talked about her experiences with bullying and stated, “The only opinion that really matters is yours.”
The October issue of Cosmopolitan features former The Hills and Laguna Beach star Lauren Conrad.
In the spread, Lauren opens up about her experience on the MTV reality shows saying, “when I did television, scandal was always around me and I think one of the best things [about that] for me is that your life becomes more big-picture. You have to develop a thick skin really quickly. It toughened me up, which is good.”
Lauren was part of the infamous feud with Hills co-star Heidi Montag. This feud begun when Lauren believed that Heidi’s boyfriend at the time (now her husband), Spencer Pratt started a rumor that Lauren had a sex-tape with her ex-boyfriend Jason. In addition, Lauren felt that Heidi was aware of Spencer’s malicious actions. However, both Spencer and Heidi denied their involvement in the rumor, but eventually this caused the deterioration of Lauren’s friendship with Heidi (and subsequently Spencer).
Although both stars have moved on from the fall out in their friendship, it was all brought back up in 2013 when Heidi was featured on WE’s Marriage Boot Camp. During the show, Heidi engaged in a role-playing exercise where she reflected on her friendship with Lauren saying, “I was the best friend you’ve ever had. Lauren, I forgive you for being so insecure in your life and so frustrated for everything that you went through that you felt like you had to blame it on me because that was easier, I forgive you for trying to ruin my life.”
However, Lauren decides to take the high road in her Cosmo spread and declined commenting on Heidi’s stint on Marriage Boot Camp. Lauren added, “I’m not really involved in that anymore. I don’t think it has anything to do with me. You just have to focus on the good people in your life. Focusing on what you lose is only going to make you sad.”
Later in the spread, Lauren admits that being a TV star was “sort of an accident,” and she felt no passion for it. However, she now is much more satisfied with her career in the fashion business and hopes to continue on her current path.
