potentionals sleeps for fantasy football week 1 images nfl 2015The first Sunday of NFL football is literally today. I think I may cry. I thought it was gone forever.

It’s still hard to say who the surprise players are going to be this week having seen nothing legitimate from the majority of them, but I’ll do my best. Here are a few more potential sleepers for Week 1 to consider starting in your league or maybe picking up for a cheap price on FanDuel or DraftKings:

Melvin Gordon: This one may be a stretch, be he could still be a solid flex option. The Detroit Lions defense just won’t be nearly the same without Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. Haloti Ngata will definitely have his hands full. After all, Gordon still has to prove himself to his mom.

Kirk Cousins: Lol, just kidding, please don’t do that.

Calvin Johnson: Okay, well not exactly a sleeper I guess, but don’t forget about the big man. With all the hype around Odell Beckham Jr., Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, etc, etc, etc, and then the injury issues people seem to have given Megatron a backseat. It’ll take one week for him to be back on top of the ESPN Top 10.

Let’s remember two things: Johnson is 6’5. That’s pretty tall. And two, the San Diego Chargers defense is very lackluster. More importantly, their two starting cornerbacks are Brandon Flowers and Jason Verrett. Verrett, the taller of the two, is only 5’9.

Don’t worry, I already did the math for you: Calvin Johnson is taller.

After returning from injury last year, he still managed to average over 90 yards and a touchdown per game. So all I’m saying is I hope you didn’t forget about Johnson after Beckham’s crazy catch, because he’s still head-hunting secondary’s on the weekly.
