Warner Bros is cranking up the marketing volume for Channing Tatum’s “Magic Mike XXL” with a new poster yesterday, and a first official trailer that just hit today. It’s got everything you want in your beefcake bonanza with a heart plus some. You can check out the full video below along with several hot new images that just hit today too. With the success of the original “Magic Mike” you know the studio will be hyping this one hard, and from the looks of the trailer, it looks like it’ll be worth it.
Channing Tatum and his beefcake crew are back for more “Magic Mike XXL” fun as The Ellen Degeneres Show premiered the first official trailer today, E Online reported. We just reported about the first poster that came out early today so Warner Bros is amping up the marketing machine now.
As you’ll see above, the Cock-Rocking Kings of Tampa are back in action, and it’s exactly what you were hoping for. This is a really great trailer and Gregory Jacobs is lightening the sequel up a little more than the original. Right off when the trailer starts, Tatum is thrusting a thick piece of steel into a grinder that shoots off plenty of sparks with every thrust. You get the picture.. The rest of his crew jump right in and it’s all the beefcake you were hoping for with original movie members Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias returning. Matthew McConaughey won’t be back to play that sexy sleazy strip club owner Dallas.
Tatum had promised that the new film won’t be as dark and somber as the original, and this lighter broader feel trailer proves him correct. Soderbergh had a very deft hand combining the drama with comedy in the original and hopefully Jacobs will be just as good. This trailer is very encouraging, plus it a steamy movie for that steamy time of year.
Newcomers will include Jada Pinkett Smith, Amber Heard, Michael Strahan, Andie McDowell, Michael Strahan and Elizabeth Banks.
The official synopsis of “Magic Mike XXL” is:
“Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.
The highly anticipated movie hits theaters July 1 directed by Gregory Jacobs and original director Steven Soderbergh serves as DP giving the film his classic look.
