Los Blancos have now secured five wins and three draws from their first eight games and are ahead of Celta Vigo and Barcelona on goal difference to be clear of the two sides in the table. Marcelo, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese Rodriguez were the goalscorers for the Madrid giants. Ronaldo’s solitary goal moved him one past Raul Gonzalez and made him the highest goalscorer for the Madrid outfit.

The Basque outfit are now seventh while Sevilla slipped to 12th in the league standings.

Neymar bagged four goals that included two spot kicks to help Barcelona trounce Rayo Vallecano 5-2 at the Camp Nou. The Catalan giants were without their talisman Lionel Messi, but in his absence Neymar and Luis Suarez turned in good performances to ensure all three points for the hosts. The first two goals came from penalties, and Neymar made no mistake in slamming his strikes past the hapless Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper to help his side complete a come from behind win.

Valencia finally turned on the style against Malaga to register an emphatic 3-0 win at the Mestalla. Andre Gomes and Daniel Parejo, as well as an own goal from Charles, helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s side earn a comfortable win over the Andalusian outfit. Valencia are now eighth while Malaga lie 17th.

Espanyol registered a comprehensive 3-1 win against newly promoted Real Betis.

Nolito continued his goalscoring heroics for Celta Vigo as he struck the winner against Villarreal to help his side earn all three points that will see them equal on points alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona in the league standings. Meanwhile, Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side are now fifth.

Antoine Griezmann scored a wonder goal in the ninth minute, and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco secured all three points with a stoppage time goal against Real Sociedad. The defeat has increased the pressure on former Manchester United manager David Moyes as he fights to remain at the helm of La Real. The win moved Los Rojiblancos up to fourth with a tally of 16 points as they attempt to remain hot on the heels of Real Madrid and Barcelona in their quest for the league title. La Real are now flirting with the relegation zone in 16th.
