In the all-out battle between PlayStation and Xbox, each side had its own signature game, unique to that console only. For Xbox, this game was obviously Halo. For PlayStation, however, Uncharted quickly became a worthy rival to the Halo Franchise. You can pre-order Uncharterted 4: A Thief’s End here for the killer collector’s edition.
First launching on the PS3 in 2007, it very quickly became the make or break game for Sony. It was developed by Naughty Dog, who also developed Jak and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot, and Last of Us, all which only launched on PS3.
Naughty Dog has so far been the PlayStation equivalent of Bungie, who developed Halo for Microsoft. The plot follows Nathan Drake, an adventurer and explorer in search of treasure. You’re supposedly the descendant of the real life explorer, Sir Francis Drake, and in search of the ancient treasure of El Dorado – the city made of gold. The gameplay is fairly easy to grasp.
It’s a third person shooter and platformer, meaning that instead of looking through the eyes of a camera, you’re like an imaginary camera following behind the main character. You leap from platform to platform and explore in order to find the treasures you seek, much like Lara Croft.
In fact, Nathan Drake can easily be compared as the male version of Lara Croft. After the first three games, Nathan retired from his explorer lifestyle. Now, however, he is forced to get back in action and take on a world of thieves.
There aren’t many details out about the plot yet, but it has been stated that the stakes are now much more personal than ever before. Nathan will likely be forced to endure harsh conditions and be driven close to death to save the ones he loves.
If you preorder from Amazon, you’ll get the unique Amazon preorder snow camouflage skins. You’ll be able to use this skin on all of your weapons in the Uncharted 4 multiplayer.
This might just give you the upper hand in stealth. Of course, you’ll also get the golden weapon skins. If stealth isn’t your deal, you can always be absurdly flashy about your guns.
You’ll also get two unique outfits to use in cooperative and competitive play. Finally, you get Naughty Dog Points, which is in-game money that you can use in multiplayer. You can choose to buy any of three editions of the game: Standard, Special, and Collector’s.
