When most people hear “Daredevil” they immediately are reminded of that bad period in Ben Affleck’s life when he seemed to be taking on any movie that could buy him a new home or car. Things are much different this time in the Marvel Universe as Netflix is taking it much more serious this time, along with star Charlie Cox, who seems to truly embody the handicapped superhero. He truly makes him handicapable.
Netflix just unleashed a moody action packed teaser trailer for Marvel’s “Daredevil” series which stars Charlie Cox, Variety reported today.
Don’t worry, this is not that sad Ben Affleck “Daredevil”, either. Charlie Cox portrays the superhero this time, who is a blind lawyer relying on his extraordinary senses. He fights injustice during the day as a lawyer and then at night he becomes a Hell’s Kitchen vigilante. After seeing the trailer, you can see that this isn’t a “Batman” ripoff either. Cox comes off well as playing the alter ego hero.
This trailer gives you an idea of what’s to come, and it takes place in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen, which is so much nicer now than it was when the “Daredevil” was created back in the 1960’s. Kingpin looks to be the more prominent badguy and Bullseye won’t appear this time around.
The cast includes Vincent D’Onofrio (as Wilson Fisk), Rosario Dawson (as Claire Temple), Deborah Ann Woll (as Karen Page) and Elden Henson (as Foggy Nelson), along with Vondie Curtis Hall, Scott Glenn, Ayelet Zurer, Bob Gunton and Toby Leonard Moore.
“Daredevil” will thankfully be available on Netflix in Ultra HD 4K which is slowly getting into the mainstream. Once you see a movie or series like “Breaking Bad” or even “House of Cards” on it, you just can’t go back to regular HD. The official synopsis is:
“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
The entire series will be available on Netflix beginning, Friday, April 10 at exactly one minute past midnight. “Daredevil is the first of five Marvel based shows coming to Netflix including “AKA Jessica Jones” starring Krysten Ritter, “Luke Cage” starring Mike Colter, and “Iron Fist.” All five heroes will then team for “The Defenders.”
