Can you believe we are half way through summer? While time may be passing at record speed, this doesn’t mean you can’t find the time to open up your home to a lovable furry who is anxiously waiting to be adopted. I can assure you, you will not regret it! Once again, we are back with our weekly “Adopt Me” pet feature.
All thanks to our friends over at North Shore Animal League America, we are able to shine a light on a special kitty this week; one who is waiting to find the loving, forever home he deserves. By featuring an adoptable pet on our site – both cats and dogs – every week, we have been able to help find homes for countless deserving animals and we are so excited to be continuing to do so this week!
North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies.
The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal
League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.
Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we hope to continue to find loving, suitable homes for even more pets.
With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal
League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.
Now…time to introduce the star of this week’s show…Jim Bob!
Jim Bob is a young, 1-year-old male shorthaired, domestic cat. He was fortunate enough to be rescued by the admirable staff at North Shore from previously unsuitable living conditions in West Virginia. Jim Bob has a mainly white, soft coat of fur, with unique brown and black markings scattered around his back and tail. Being the young kitty he is, he has plenty of energy and joy, which makes him the perfect addition to any active family.
It has been said that pet owners smile more, laugh more and form special friendships with other animal owners and lovers. Jim Bob will surely bring these improvements to his new owners’ lives and help them lead a more joyful life.
Cats are extremely versatile and adaptable animals, making them the perfect pet option for almost every household. As mainly independent animals, cats are often low maintenance and are perfect for those who live an active and busy lifestyle who may not be able to take on the responsibility that is associated with owning a dog.
Jessica Uster, a Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Jim Bob gets along very well with other cats and currently resides in our Purina® Cat Habitat. He loves to spend his days playing with other cats as well as encouraging his two legged friends to dangle wand toys for him.”
Moreover, Jim Bob is a young kitty with many years full of joy, play and love ahead of him. If you are looking for a companion for yourself and/or a feline you already have, Jim Bob is the perfect pet for you. Little Jim Bob will do great in a household with kids, especially if they are willing to feed him daily, play with him and offer him love and treats on a regular basis. While he may come in a small package, Jim Bob has a big heart and will keep his new family smiling for years to come.
