To help us celebrate the impending New Year, we have an extra special furry friend this week! For well over a year, we have been featuring adoptable pets on our “Adopt Me” page. With the help of our partners at North Shore Animal League America, we’ve been able to find loving homes for nearly all of the pets – both cats and dogs – that have been highlighted here on MovieTVTechGeeks. Seeing the success that this initiative has had thus far, we are incredibly excited to continue raising awareness for pet adoption throughout 2017!

North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.

Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we continue to strive to find homes for all of the pets we feature on our site.

The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.

With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.

Now…help us give a warm welcome to…Pompi!

Still a relatively young pup, Pompi is a one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix. Weighing about 20 pounds, this perky little fellow was fortunately rescued by North Shore from Tennessee. Pompi tends to be fairly shy at first, however, he is quick to warm up to those around him that earn his trust. Once his guard is down, Pompi loves to roll around and receive belly rubs. He also enjoys jumping up on his two-legged friends’ laps for a nice, loving embrace. Although Pompi is only a year old, he already knows his basic commands. In addition, he is also already housebroken, which means he knows to do his business outside.

Chihuahuas are known for being full of personality and fun. Even though they may come in a small package, they are enthusiastic and loving – both qualities which Pompi exudes. They often like to create strong bonds with their owners and stay by their side as much as possible. This particular breed is also known for being intelligent and adaptive. They can be very curious and adventurous dogs; therefore, you must keep a good eye on them when away from home, as they can maneuver themselves through even the smallest of escape routes. Nonetheless, they are incredibly loyal pets who enjoy showing their affection and care for their family.

Rosie Tombolo, the Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Pompi is an adorable pup who is looking for a patient family that will give him guidance and teach him how to be a family pet.”

The staff at North Shore believes that Pompi would do best with a family that already has prior experience with a dog. In addition, it would be ideal for Pompi to live in a home with children (if any) over the age of 16.

Given his energetic personality, Pompi would be an excellent companion for a family that leads a relatively active lifestyle. He loves to play fetch and is not one to pass up the opportunity to join his two-legged family members on a jog around the block or a long walk in the park.

Moreover, Pompi is a young dog with plenty of joy-filled years ahead of him. With his playful personality and loving demeanor, he makes the perfect addition to any suitable family. Undoubtedly, Pompi will bring his infectious spirit and vibrant light to his future forever home.
