The round of thirty-two in the 2015 March Madness NCAA basketball tournament began on Saturday as the event continued at various sites throughout the USA. The day’s action was not without a major upset as a No. 1 seed in the tournament fell. All of the scores from Saturday are below with action scheduled for Sunday as well.

One, perhaps below the radar team, that remains alive following Saturday’s results is the University of Utah. The Utes, fifth seeded in the East, have a seven foot senior in Dallin Bachynski. With nine points and eight rebounds in his team’s win on Saturday, Bachynski played well above his season averages of 3.8 ppg and 2.25 rpg. The Utes, who await the winner of Duke/San Diego State, do have a chance to make the Final Four although they will be considered underdogs should they face the Blue Devils in the Sweet 16, the match-up that would be considered mostly likely at this point.

The UCLA Bruins, close to Utah in the draw, are another team presently commanding respect.

Seeded 11th in the South Region, the Bruins are into the Sweet 16 following much talk from last weekend that they were not even tournament worthy. Interestingly enough, they have a draw to the Final Four that would probably go through Gonzaga, a team that has underachieved in a lot of recent NCAA tournaments. Furthermore UCLA share the South Region with the Duke Blue Devils, a school that hasn’t lived up to its billing in most of the March Madness tournaments following their most recent championship.

In other regions, besides the elimination of Villanova, the complexion of the NCAA tournament did not change much on Saturday. The Kentucky Wildcats, following a double-digit win over Cincinnati, remain the tournament favorite. In fact, Paddy Power, a betting firm, have the Wildcats at EVEN odds against the entire field. With so much talent and with so many players with tournament experience, the Wildcats are clearly the toughest out. They look good to improve on their runner-up finish from one year ago.

March Madness playdowns will continue on Sunday, with eight more games scheduled. Wisconsin and Duke, two teams that will play, are the other remaining No. 1 seeds. They will each be in action on Sunday as they look to book their spots in the round of sixteen.

RHOA Ep 17 Season 7: NeNe Leakes’ Frankenhair & Therapy Breakdown

We are back this week and it is an explosive one on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now, if you remember from last week, NeNe is in town and she wants to do a therapy session with the girls. So she sets up an appointment with Dr. Jeff. The details of their meeting comes later, so let me tell you what happens first.
Phaedra meets with Porsha at her house in “Timbuktu,” and she tells her about the meeting she had with Cynthia. Of course Porsha doesn’t has stuff to say about her. “The new Cynthia is petty, messy and mean.” Phaedra says that she doesn’t know why Cynthia is acting the way she is toward her because she always supported her.
“My mother orders from the plus size magazine she models for.”
Porsha then tells her about Dr. Jeff and Phaedra says that she doesn’t thinks he can handle being in a room “with all these hyenas.” They eat the dinner Porsha has prepared and share a laugh.
Later, NeNe visits Phaedra and her hair is something out of Frankenstein. Like, it is to the point where the hair people on the show need to be fired. It is not a good look. Anyway, she visits her to talk about her attending the therapy session. Phaedra really appreciates her coming (even though she is clear on not going to the therapy) because she has a super busy schedule and drove over an hour. She feels that she is really a friend.
Then there is Kandi and Todd. She calls him into the room to talk about how she wants to build a legacy like her family did. She says that they are good on the money front, but they need to work on the family aspect. Kandi then brings up the therapy session and says that they need to do the homework that was assigned to them which is to write down the pros and cons of their relationship. Todd says that he doesn’t think they need to do all of that, “we just need to go in a room and have sex.” That’s a way to deal with it Todd. Kandi wants to do whatever it takes to save her marriage.
Claudia talks to one of her gay male friends about how she feels like she is not being able to really get out there and be funny on the Ricky Smiley show the way she wants. He tells her to leave it alone because that is Ricky’s place to be funny. She is there to reel it all in and kind of play the sensible thinking part. Claudia hears him but still wants to try to make a place for herself. She later meets with comedienne Lanell to get some pointers to see if she can help her. Claudia tells her that she is about to try her hand at comedy. OK Claudia… do you boo.
Kandi and Phaedra meet at her office. They do a short catch up and Kandi tells her that NeNe said that they in particular need counseling. Phaedra mentions the fact that Kandi didn’t come out to check on her with the whole Apollo situation. Kandi breaks down crying and tells her that she understands where she’s coming from but she has her own problems too. Phaedra listens to her and says that I love you and that we are cool in the end. Kandi also brings up the fact that NeNe was once her enemy so how the hell is she her friend now to which Phaedra says that “I believe that people can change.”

The time finally comes for the girls to meet with Dr. Jeff. Team Kenya comes in together while the other girls, save Phaedra, comes in on their own. Dr. Jeff opens the floor and that’s when it all begins. NeNe starts with the fact that the ladies always talk about being grown women but there is no “womanness” about any of them. Kenya then brings up the fact that she was not invited to the previous dinner and that’s the problem she has with Leaks. NeNe then goes off and says this is not about blaming people but about helping each other for this session. When Dr. Jeff tries to intervene and take up for everyone, NeNe then tells him “ I didn’t invite you here to represent me and… I don’t know you like that.” Well damn!
Kenya brings up the fact that she believed that they were working on being friends in Puerto Rico but NeNe still threw shade afterward. NeNe tells her that they will never be friends and that she said they would find a way to “coexist.” Well obviously not.
Claudia then tells her how she feels and then mentions how she seems to have a “bi-polar experience” to which NeNe went ALL THE WAY off. “This aint no come at NeNe day.” Then there is a time for Cynthia to express how she feels and things just go down hill. NeNe is obviously the problem here. She totally takes over the situation and is hostile the entire time with each person. She calls Cynthia a mean girl and asks her if she has found her voice yet… whatever that means. Then Kandi speaks and brings up their situation and how she feels that NeNe is the source of the problem.

In the end, while Dr. Jeff is speaking, NeNe calmly gets up, gathers her things and walks out. Like, rude, no warning and just leaves. She says’ “I am not staying her for attach NeNe day.” Dr. Jeff follows her and tries to get her to come back and she just keeps walking.
In the previews for next week, NeNe is shown telling the doctor that he needs to be worried about losing his license. This chick is off the chain. She’s showing her ass more and more sadly now as she seems to be spiraling out of control. She used to be my favorite on the show when it first started, but something happened when she got that first taste of celebrity, and she truly became what we call the ‘ugly American’ now.

LOVE & HIP HOP NEW YORK: No Dollaz & No Sense

This week on Love and Hip Hop New York, there is so much going on and you know it is full of drama and craziness… cough… Diamond Strawberry.

It opens up with Mendeecees and Yandy talking about her firing Remy. He tells her that she had no business firing her without his permission. She tells him that she is too disrespectful and he wasn’t handling it so she did. She also tells him how she was acting and what she said when they last met and he looked surprised. He eventually shakes it off and they move on to talk about the baby shower.

They have a family photo shoot and it is totally adorable. During the shoot, Yandy gets a phone call about her dad that he is having emergency surgery due to a blood clot that may cause him to have his leg amputated. Mendeecees comes in like superman and says that he will do whatever he needs even if that means going “down there” to get him.

Next is Cyn and Cisco. They meet in the studio to hear her new single about her brother. She loves it and can’t believe she sang the whole song. She also takes the time to bring up the fact about Diamond is crazy and she and Rich have a thing going on. Cisco says that he forgives Rich but won’t forget. Here too he tries to express to Cyn how he is starting to feel about her but she cuts him off and gets back to the music. Maybe she is playing hard to get.

Speaking of Rich, he and Diamond meet at her request and it is awkward. She orders a drink and he tells her that she shouldn’t be drinking. This bitch says, “Drinking has nothing to do with how I act.” Oh so you’re just crazy because that’s your nature. He brings up her behavior at the club with Jhonni Blaze and he goes off on her telling her that her disposition is wrong. She breaks down crying, saying she is just going through a lot and that she really isn’t a bitch but it’s just everything going on (coming to NY to be with a man she thought she was going to marry). Rich hears her but says that they can’t be friends then shakes her hand and walks out, leaving her at the bar alone. Finally, someone on this damn show is making smart choices.

Next we see Chink at home in the DMV visiting his family. He first goes to the grave of his mom who died when he was very young. He specially speaks bout Chrissy and her crazy ways (stopping birth control, her porn spread and more). He then visits his father, Stan, who is apparently sick. Stan hears his son and tells him that he is good at what he does and needs to let all the bull shit fall away; do whatever makes him happy to which Chink says, “For me, that’s Chrissy.” He asks his father how he would feel about meeting Chrissy. He says that blood runs strong meaning that he will never turn his back on Chink’s baby momma but is willing to meet Chrissy, his “other little girl he has outside here.” This is a big deal and says a lot about his father.

So Chink sends a car to pick up Chrissy (from NY) and she’s has no idea what’s going on. He goes straight into how he didn’t like the way she didn’t tell him about the birth control, magazine, etc. He says that it’s not about the fact that she did it but that she didn’t tell him which I totally understand. They get past their little argument and he tells her he brought her to DC to meet his father. She gets excited and they go inside. By the way, I am pretty sure he’s super high.

In the house she talks to Stan and tells him how much Chink changed her life. Chrissy breaks down crying about how much she loves him. His father hears her and says that the whole marriage thing, “You have to fight the world to be together.” His dad drops some truth and this is a very tender and real moment on the show.

This week too, Cyn’s event finally comes and she performs her song. Precious comes to visit and drops the bomb that Jhonni (the girl who Precious got into a fight with) has a sex tape out. They joke and say who is the guy on the tape, suggesting it’s Rich. He denies it. Cisco also takes this time to flirt and express some romantic feelings with Cyn. “I don’t want to hide it anymore from you… I would really like to see if we could be together one day.” Cyn… Cyn… I know he sounds like a good guy but don’t trust it! Look at the track record boo, boo. It’s not going to be any different with you.

Anyway, she performs her song and does a good job. Cisco watches from the crowd in “awe” of her and you can see that he is totally feeling her. She actually doesn’t sound bad, but then again, everyone sounds good with auto tunes right?

Later, Jhonni Blaze does a radio interview (um I thought those were reserved for ACTUAL famous people) and the sex tape is brought up. Tara is There too so that she can give her some pointers on how to act. Jhonni says that she didn’t expect for the “private tape” to be leaked (um yea right) and that she is totally embarrassed. Also, Tara confronts her about what happened at the party. Blaze apologizes and says that she gets a certain way about Rich. Tara then asks that and the singer(?) says that she is in love with him. Tara looks at her like, “okay.”

In the end, Rich and Jhonni meet and things go down. He shows up at her stripper job and it is clear that Rich is in over his head with these girls because he keeps screwing them and screwing them over. He tells her that he is not in love with her and Blaze tells him to “stop fucking with me then.” Rich gets up (for the second time this episode) and walks away.

Whew…Not too long now before it’s all over.

Novak Djokovic vs Roger Federer For Indian Wells Finals 2015

The semifinals at Indian Wells 2015 have been completed and Sunday’s championship final is set. That match will feature the World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, against the World No. 2, Roger Federer, in what promises to be a competitive contest.

Djokovic, perhaps playing with a mild edge, enters the final very well rested following the last two rounds of play. In the quarters he benefited from a walkover while in the semis, Djokovic had no apparent trouble with Andy Murray. Following his 6-2, 6-3 victory over the Scot, Djokovic had the following comments:

“I thought that (Murray) didn’t play close to his highest level. He made a lot of unforced errors, especially from the forehand side,” Djokovic claimed. “Low percentage of first serves in. That allowed me to obviously step in and be aggressive.”

While Djokovic did not think that Murray played well, the Serbinator was seemingly impressed with his own play:

“I thought I played solid, with the right intensity from the beginning. Good first-serve percentage. Got some free points there in the important moments.”

Federer, who played after Djokovic, also advanced to the final with a straight-sets victory in the semis. He defeated Milos Raonic, a player who is still improving on tour although one that has not really gotten into either Djokovic or Federer much to date. The line score in the Raonic/Federer semifinal was 7-5, 6-4.

After the match, Raonic, who could challenge for the World No. 3 position in the months ahead, suggested that the contest hinged on a few key points:

“I thought a few points here and there made a difference. I tried to put everything out there that I could, and the outcome was as is.”

Djokovic and Federer have a lengthy history against one another, a history that has shown a fair amount of parity. Heading into Sunday’s final it is the Swiss Maestro that owns a 20-17 heads-up record against Djokovic. That series includes a very recent win from the ATP Dubai final a few weeks ago.

Both players, who combine for 133 tour titles, are also former champions in Indian Wells.

Champions League Round 16 Review: Real Madrid & Barcenlona Move To Quarters

The first knockout round of the Champions League has concluded and all the remaining English teams have crashed out of the competition. As expected, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have made it to the quarter finals yet again this year.

The reigning European champions didn’t qualify for the quarter-finals with ease. The Bundesliga club, Schalke gave a real scare to Carlo Ancelotti’s men. It would have been the biggest upset of this round, if Schalke would have managed to score another goal at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg. Real Madrid faithful weren’t overjoyed after the clash and they booed their team after the loss at home. Los Blancos weren’t the only side to disappoint their fans. Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea FC gave in against the classy display of Paris Saint Germain at Stamford Bridge. After being reduced to ten men, the Parisians didn’t lose hope and showed their character and determination. Chelsea were expected to reach the later stages of the tournament and by eliminating them, PSG have earned the reputation of being genuine contenders.

Arsenal won 2 – 0 in Monaco, but they fell short and were knocked out on away goals rule. Atletico Madrid were the runners-up in last season’s tournament. But this time around, Diego Simeone’s men were saved by a whisker. The Spanish club defeated the Germans 3 – 2 on penalties. Porto earned an easy victory over Basel, while the German giants Bayern Munich punished Shakhtar Donetsk in the second leg. Juventus knocked out Borussia Dortmund, who’ve had a season to forget. Apparently Jurgen Klopp’s men would not feature in Europe next season as they are struggling to even make it in the top half of the table in German Bundesliga.

The next round’s fixtures were drawn yesterday and we’ve some crunch ties to look forward to. Paris Saint Germain and Luis Enrique’s Barcelona will go head to head and the winner will reach the semi-finals. Also the winner of this clash can go all the way. Last year’s finalists will compete in the quarter final round this year. Atletico have had an impressive record against Real in the past few games and this clash never ceases to entertain us.

The Portuguese club, FC Porto would have to battle against the German champions. Pep Guardiola’s side are the favorites to win it over the two legs, but no one can decipher where the upsets could come from in any round. Juventus haven’t done well in the European competition in recent past. The Italian giants face Monaco and they are only two matches far from becoming the semi-finalists.

It is for the first time since 2009/10 season that two Ligue 1 teams have made it to the Quarter Finals.

2015 Indian Wells Review: Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer & Andy Murray To Semifinals

The 2015 edition of Indian Wells, a Masters Series 1000 event on the ATP Tour, is down to semifinalists in California. The last two days of tennis featured the four quarterfinal matches with some blockbuster action scheduled for this weekend.

The first quarterfinal, which was played on Thursday, saw Andy Murray defeat Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-4. Murray, who has had some poor losses on tour recently, has so far lived up to his billing in Indian Wells. However in the next round the Scot has drawn Novak Djokovic, a player who received some draw luck in the quarters.

Djokovic was supposed to face Bernard Tomic in the round of eight however the young Aussie did not contest the quarterfinal. Accordingly, Djokovic advanced to the semis without having to labour on court on Thursday. That should give him a bit of an edge over Murray as Djokovic enters the final four on several day’s rest.

In other quarterfinal play, Roger Federer continued his hot streak. The Swiss had drawn Tomas Berdych in the round of eight, a player that has given the Swiss Maestro some trouble at times. However Federer had no trouble with the Czech No. 1 on Friday, defeating Berdych 6-4, 6-0 to move into the semifinals.

Next up for Federer is a match-up against an improving Milos Raonic. The Canadian, the only surprise semifinalist in Indian Wells this year, shared a draw to the semifinals with Rafael Nadal. Due to that, most would have picked the Spaniard to survive to the final four however Raonic, in earning his first win over Rafa, saved a trio of match points before coming back to defeat Nadal 4-6, 7-6(10), 7-5 in another quarterfinal on Friday.

After the match Raonic spoke of how he handled the match-saving scenarios:

“At the moments when I was playing those match points, it didn’t really feel like match points,” Raonic claimed. “It was just like another point that I was trying to get through.”

Raonic, who will not have much time to savour his victory, has not done well against Federer in their previous meetings. Saturday will mark their tenth encounter on tour with the Swiss winning every one of those encounters except for one. However fans of the Canadian’s will ground some optimism in the fact that Raonic’s lone victory over Fededrer did come in a recent match.

Although Murray and Raonic are capable of beating the top players on tour, with Djokovic entering the semifinals well rested and with Federer owning a sharply one-sided record against Raonic heads-up, the 2015 BNP Paribas Open may very well feature a World No. 1 vs. World No. 2 final on Sunday.

We all know in life that there are those people who just get on your nerves for no other reason than just their being. I mean, it’s the way that they act, the things they say, hell, even the way that they look that sometimes just gets under your skin.

There is probably no greater annoying person on this earth than a celebrity who doesn’t get that they are indeed, so damn irritating that majority of people just wish that they would go away. Because we all have those famous names that make us cringe when we hear them, here is a list of the 10 most annoying celebrities.

Kim Kardashian

There is just no getting away from this self-consumed, overrated woman. I mean the very fact that her claim to fame is a sex tape should automatically cross her off the list of credible people to look to, but you know us. We get played by the media time and time again and allow them to make someone who has no talent at all, into the envy of all our dreams. And that is the most annoying thing about her, she has no talent so why the fuck do we care about this attention whore.

Bruce Jenner

I literally could name each and every Kardashian/Jenner on this list but then that wouldn’t be as fun as calling out the top two and why. The truth is, no one cares that Bruce Jenner is turning into a fucking woman. This just means that you could not make it as a man because of whatever reason, and now are trying to see how it will go as a woman. I wish he and the rest of them would just leave us all alone with their antics and crazy shit. Yes… THEY need to leave us alone.

Floyd Mayweather

I am not sure that they come more arrogant than this dude. Like I get it, you are a bad ass boxer, undefeated… blah, blah, blah, but do you really have to be so damn cocky? I mean come on, he gives Pisces a bad name with how full of himself he is and if truth be told, I am so going for Pacquiao in the fight on May 2^nd. This guy needs a big dose of “shut the fuck up” and I hope Pacquiao is the one to do it.

Chris Brown

From his beating on Rihanna, to cheating to his weird hairstyle choices and rapping (seriously Breezy just stick to singing) I am so over hearing, seeing and caring about what he does. He’s one of those guys that don’t get how what they are doing is in direct contrast to what they say that they are. I just want him to go back to the singing and to stop all the controversial behaviors and pleas for public forgiveness.

Kanye West

This list would not be complete without Yeezus on it. I think the thing that annoys me the most about him is his pretentious self-awareness. Look, we all know that you are talented. We all think that you are musical genius, but you can’t just be happy with that huh Kanye? You have to throw it in our faces every chance you get and tell us constantly how no one is better than you and you are the Picasso, Michael Jackson, Wilma Rudolph and Elvis of hip hop. Just bring it down a few hundred notches, will you please?

Azalea Banks

This chick is the equivalent of the female Kanye only she is nowhere as talented has he is. She is someone who wants to be known so badly that she will do ANYTHING to get that attention, including causing beefs with well established artists (Eryka Badu) and posing in playboy and shit. Go sit the fuck down Azalea Banks, you are irrelevant. Period.

Yes! The whole entire cast makes this list because they are so fake and boogie that I just can’t pick one. I mean, NeNe is totally unaware of her ability to bring out the pettiness in everyone, Kenya is totally delusional to think that she can actually act and Porsha is so silly to the point that she feels she runs all of ATL. The sad part and what irritates me the most is that there are women who strive to be like these chicks.

Peter Gunz

I mean, I wouldn’t really call him a celebrity but people do know his name and he has a reputation in the music industry so that constitutes him being on this list. This man is unbelievably hypocritical and I don’t understand how and why women keep falling for him. He never takes responsibility for the way he acts and has this uncanny ability to blame his cheating, lying ways on the women that they affect. I wish he would just go away and never come back.

With all of her recent claims of being blackballed by Hollywood, she is becoming more and more annoying with each interview. I get that she feels wronged and perhaps used that as a way to get back into the spotlight, but it is over kill now. And her recent claim that HBO paid her more than she has been paid her whole career I’m like damn, what have you been doing this whole time, working for free.

Taylor Swift

Swizzle ends this list because come on, she is annoying. Her songs are cool and all but no one is a nice and wholesome as they make her out to be. I mean, she helps her fans pay off student loans? She takes selfies with people on the fly and sings the sound tracks to our relationship lives? She’s almost too perfect and that… that is annoying.

You know there’s so many more but who has the rest of their lives to commit to caring about bull shit.

Copa del Rey Final: Barca & Bilbao want final at Bernabeu

There is no set venue for this year’s Copa del Rey final. But both the participating clubs want the Santiago Bernabeu to hold the match. The reason being cited is the capacity of Real Madrid’s stadium, which would allow them to have the maximum number of tickets available.

“Since both clubs wish to play the final at the Bernabeu, we made a formal request to Real Madrid and will be waiting for an official response,” Barca director Albert Soler said.

“The Spanish Federation had received requests from some cities to host the cup, but not from Madrid.”

In the semi-final’s second leg, the Brazilian skipper, Neymar netted twice and the Uruguyan forward, Luis Suarez also got on the score sheet as Barca reached their 4^th Copa del Rey final in the last 5 attempts. The Catalonian giants won 3 – 1 at Villarreal in the second leg, thereby registering a 6-2 aggregate win.

Villarreal lost 3 – 1 in the first round and they needed to overturn the first-leg defeat at Barcelona’s home ground. Their attempts to reach their first Copa del Rey final were futile and Neymar’s goal just three minutes from the start dashed their hopes. Despite being 4 – 1 down to the Spanish giants, the hosts didn’t give up and equalized the goal in the 39^th minute. Villarreal’s Jonathon dos Santos struck from Jaume Costa’ cross and gave some hope to the home fans.

Barcelona are in the form of the season and are currently enjoying success in all the competitions. Real Madrid’s form has taken a plunge and hence Barcelona have become the favorites to clinch La Liga. They have a tough tie against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League, but if Messi and co. stay focused, then can definitely see off the Parisians.

It seems quite likely that Barcelona would have a silverware this season. Their Copa del Rey opponents aren’t enjoying a great run in the league. They are currently eighth on the league table, 29 points behind the league leaders. It would be really shocking if the European giants lose to Bilbao on May 30.

The end is nigh, says the generic, religious homeless person with a sandwich board. PCs are out! Convert to mobile! Let us go to the cloud! Are PCs doomed to death soon? Should he be believed? There are tons of articles on the internet that suggest that personal computers, PCs are on their way out. That PCs will be gone in the next ten years or so, as we move to the cloud and turn mobile devices instead. PCs are losing the popularity they had, compared to how it was during the massive technological boom of the 90s and early 2000s and the advent of the internet. But PCs have hardly worn out their welcome. Notions that PCs will be gone very soon are nothing short of delusional. What could be gone is the PC as we know it but not the PC itself.

The prevalence of smaller devices like PDAs, smartphones, tablets and Phablets could lead many to suggest that the PC is on its way out. Casual users, if they owned a desktop or laptop these days, would use their computers mostly to browse the internet, read the news, to play games, send email and to catch up on social media. The emergence of smartphones and tablets changed all that, perfect for such uses and they’re much more portable to boot. Apart from the fact that PC sales have been slumping ever since these smaller computers, especially tablets, started hitting the market.

The term, personal computer, taken literally, means a small computer meant to be used personally or can be used by a person at any time for whatever means. In the olden days, these computers include the Apple II, the Commodore 64, the Vic 20, the Amiga, not just the IBM Personal Computer. When IBM did release the PC with the Intel 8088 processor along with Microsoft’s PC-DOS, the definition for the PC acronym changed. The term PC meant the old IBM PC and any other computer compatible with it. Later on, the term PC has come to mean any computer which uses the Intel x86 processor architecture or any compatible processor that runs Windows as an operating system. These computers are still as personal in the office as they are at home, used by one person at a time. These days, if the term personal computer is again taken literally, PDAs, smartphones, tablets and phablets fall into that category. So instead of being gone, the personal computer actually became much more personal.

But if we were to follow the line of thinking of many personal computer pundits who refer to the Intel/Windows or Wintel architecture, market share has indeed significantly fallen as more and more people choose mobile devices over heavier laptops and chunky desktops. Which is quite true. The PC would be dead only for these people who have no need of a Wintel desktop or laptop just to be online to watch cat videos or suffer Facebook envy. Any Android or iOS powered mobile device, a Wi-Fi router and a broadband connection would suffice for surfing and communicating on the internet.

What PC doomsayers fail to account for are students and professionals who need real computers for study and do creative work. Not everything can be done on a mobile device such as a tablet. Desktop publishing, graphics editing, video editing, long documents such as books and contracts, spreadsheets, databases and app development require more power, a bigger screen, a mouse and a large physical keyboard preferably with a dedicated numerical keypad. These applications are difficult if not impossible to do on small screens with digital keyboards that take up screen real-estate when summoned to type something; so whoever says that the PC will be dead very soon is in a state of delusion. Students need a laptop or a desktop to effectively type a long report, thesis or term paper. Office workers need either a laptop or a desktop to work on their own reports, spreadsheets and to enter invoices, receipts and payroll to the company database. In fact, mobile devices are very much dependent on PCs for their apps to be created since developers need plenty of computing power to create them.

When it comes to the Wintel/PC synonym, a desktop or laptop by any other operating system is still a PC. Windows may have lost some market share due to the Windows Vista and Windows 8 fiascos which paved the way for Linux and Macs but Windows is still the leading operating system in the PC world. Many still hold onto their old Windows 7s and Windows XPs on their old work PCs waiting for the smoke to clear on Windows 8 and for Windows 10 to reveal itself. Sales may be down but PCs running Windows are still very much in use in small to large enterprises. Many, in the publishing and advertising industries are running Macs, which are popular for such applications. Security professionals, hobbyists and free software advocates and companies saving up on software choose to run various distros of Linux and open source software. Some students and others who are always online and think the cloud is the way to go choose Chromebooks. All these applications and operating systems run on Intel-based machines since the old Motorola-based Mac architecture has run its course. The mobile ARM architecture however is gradually gaining some traction and invading the desktop realm.

We do however need to say goodbye to the familiar large beige, gray and black boxes many of us have become familiar with, except maybe for desktop-based gamers. A good laptop, whatever the operating system can easily replace the desktop while desktop form factors have also become smaller. Low-cost, low-power, silent NUCs (New Unit of Computing) are slowly getting popular as well as hobbyist bare boards such as the Raspberry Pi have become a success. Boxless all-in-ones are great for managers, the MacPro looks like a blender and Alienware came up with something that looks like a starfish. Nothing can be more personal than these previous examples. Windows-powered tablets and hybrids carry on the PC tradition over to mobile and these are also gradually getting popular because they prove more useful than consumer tablets since they can natively run important Office apps. Desktop and laptop sales are expected to boom when Windows 10 comes out and if it proves to be much better than Windows 8, enterprises holding on to Windows XP are finally expected to move on.

The PC isn’t dead yet nor is it on life support. It’s gradually coming back because they have more purpose. It’s more like in a cocoon waiting to transform into something better.

Premier League Top 4 Soccer Predictions

We can see the finishing line and the race between the contenders at the top is a very close one in the Premier League. With 9 games to go, not even Chelsea are safe as of now, but they certainly are the favorites to lift the trophy at the end of the season.

Chelsea are five points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand and their performances since the start of the season have convinced us of their intentions this season. After the shock elimination from the FA Cup and Champions League, Jose Mourinho would certainly want to add the league title to the cabinet along with the Capital One Cup. Moreover, with Manchester City struggling with form, there are no real challengers to stand up against the Blues. Here’s my prediction of the top half of the table:

Liverpool
Manchester City
Arsenal

It might be a little controversial to put Liverpool above Manchester City, but considering their recent forms, it is most likely to happen. Liverpool’s first major hurdle in attaining the top four spot will be LVG’s Manchester United. Sunday’s clash between the two sides can potentially be a knockout blow to either one’s hopes of playing in the Champions League next season. United’s game play against Spurs at home have lifted the spirits of supporters but Liverpool are the team to beat, if they want to finish in top four. Not just Liverpool’s form, but United’s tough fixtures ahead could force them to drop points. Although, we can’t be hundred percent sure as the Red Devils have a habit of surprising us.

Manchester City could slip up to the third if they keep dropping points. Pellegrini’s team are just a point ahead of Arsenal. Pellegrini’s men crashed out of the Champions League in the midweek second leg clash against Barcelona. They would look to bounce back from it and if they don’t they might find it hard to feature in next year’s version. Last but not the least, Arsenal are enjoying a great run in the league. Arsene Wenger was criticized a lot in the first half of the season but the legendary Frenchman has redeemed himself. Although, I can’t see the Gunners finish above Liverpool or Man City.

Although Spurs and Southampton have a genuine chance of finishing in top four, it is hard to believe that they would replace the English giants at the pinnacle of the table. Both these sides can definitely challenge for the Europa league spot.

It is hard to imagine another Champions League season without the 20-time English champions. But the Manchester giants seem to be on the right track under the Dutch manager and we might see some radical changes at Old Trafford after the summer transfer window.

It is going on two months since Bobbi Kristina Brown was found face down in a tub in her Roswell, GA home and her condition has not improved. She has recently been moved to a rehabilitation center in Atlanta, but it has not been disclosed when or where. We were last updated on her condition in late February that she had been taken out of the medically induced coma but was put right back down due to reportedly having seizures. BK turned 22 on March 4^th.

It is obvious that the family does not want to let go and I don’t blame them. If I were them and had the money, I would do the same thing because miracles happen everyday. I can only imagine what money TMZ is laying out to get a shot of her in a coma though, and the longer this happens, the more they’ll keep trying to get a shot of this sad situation.

Suge Knight Faints in Court… Again

I know that the whole Suge Knight situation shouldn’t be funny, a man was killed and yet another black man in fighting to keep his freedom, but you can’t help but chuckle at Suge’s behavior during this whole ordeal. If you don’t know what’s going on, let me get you caught up to speed. In February, Suge Knight was arrested for murder because he hit a man with his car who ended up dying. He was sent to jail and charged. Many different things have happened since then, including him being rushed to the hospital on one occasion due to his diabetic condition.

Fast forward to early this week, he passed out for a fourth time and hit his head on a chair on his way down, when he heard that his bail was set at… are you ready for this… $25 million. He was rushed to the hospital, unconscious, and there has been no update on his condition as of yet. All of this has prompted his lawyer, Matthew Fletcher, to appeal to the judge on his client’s behalf, citing that due to his continued medical emergencies during court, he is not getting the treatment that he needs.

“He’s being treated worse than Charles Manson.”

Now that’s a big statement. He goes on further to say that Suge has a blood clot and needs to receive medication, which apparently he has not been given since Thursday.

First of all, how the hell is Justin Bieber only turning 21 years old? Seriously, I feel like he has been around for forever and she be way older. Last weekend while celebrating his birthday in Vegas, he had David Arquette (Dewy from the Scream movie franchises and Courtney Cox’s ex-husband) removed from his private party in his suite at Caesars Palace. After already celebrating at the Omnia Nightclub, he wanted just his close friends to attend the “after party.”

Arquette seemed to be okay about it as he didn’t put up a fuss or fight which is the classy and manly thing to do when you are kicked out of a party you were not invited to.

Remember that accident that Tracy Morgan was in a little over a year ago? Well James McNair died in the crash that severely injured Morgan and now Wal-Mart is paying his family, rightfully so by the way, $10 million, according to court documents.

The driver of the Wal-Mart truck pled not guilty to vehicular homicide. There were a lot of questions around what happened and why the truck smashed into the van taking them home from a show Morgan had just finished. Speculations abound about what happened and Roper is now awaiting trail.

Morgan is working hard on his physical therapy as well as his emotional and mental stability.

Empire Finale: Mixed Reviews

Empire fans sat in front of their TV sets this past Wednesday to see the end of a whirlwind season for the new show. There were a lot of twists and turns and a whole lot of questions answered. The episode also left a lot of questions asked.

Now I know that people will stone me for saying this but I was not that impressed with the season finale. In fact, I was very disappointed. Hear me out!

There was too much going on and things didn’t make sense to me. I mean, (spoiler alerts) Lucious finds out he doesn’t have ALS, he gives the company to Jamal, Cookie tries to kill Lucious, Lucious and Jamal do a song together, then Cookie and Anika partner together with Hakeem and Andre to incite a hostile take over, Rhonda kills Vernon and then Lucious goes to jail in the end vowing to “get them bitches.”

There was so much sprinkled in there that it’s just overwhelming. Things didn’t line up and it was like they just threw stuff in there for drama sake. I almost felt like the show reverted back to the first episode when I was trying to determine if I wanted to keep watching. But that Cookie Anika fight was worth all the frustration though. If any of you remember that 1980’s show Dynasty, you’ll recall the intense catfights between Alexis and Krystle, but with way more hair pulling and gut punching.

I am sure it will get better, well I hope it will, next season. I just think it missed the mark in my humble opinion.

GLEE’s Jenna Ushkowitz Talks Shows Ending Plus What Happened

Glee was that show that provided a true escape for many people of all ages along with being made into a punchline for others. I think for those that watched the television show through the good season, understood the escapism and wanting to live in this perfect bubble world. The best part about this perfect bubble world of Glee, was that life wasn’t always so perfect within it, and that’s what made the show such a cultural touchstone for audiences. I watched the show regularly until they moved to New York and it became a conflux of plots trying to hold together, but as I watched the series finale, I was reminded of what I loved most about the show.

Time have certainly changed since Glee was once the biggest show on television back in 2009, and that has now been replaced by Empire, which is a musical television show in its own right (with a big splash of Dynasty), but with a lot more bite and bitchy one-liners…much like Dynasty.

Jenna Ushkowitz, who played Tina, had a lot to say about her time on the show, it’s ending and still missing Corey Monteith.

As I sat in the choir room, in-between takes of Matthew Morrison singing a song to us as Mr. Schue for the last time, I realized that this moment — with these people, at this very time in our lives — would never happen again. It all came down to this and now here we were. At our request, our fearless director Brad Buecker came in to warn us that this was our very last take so we could soak in all the joy and love one last time.

The whole day felt like a circus. There was literally a carnival that Paramount threw for the cast and crew at lunch to thank us for the six great years we took up real estate on their magical little lot. There were food trucks all day long, coffee trucks in the morning and In-N-Out to fill us for dinner. Posters were being passed around and gifted Glee yearbooks being signed. It felt like the last day of senior year — except with a crew of more than 100 grown adults who had families and other jobs to move on to. Will we stay in touch like we say? Will we ever work together again? These were the questions that were being thrown around in our heads for weeks. I guess that was my biggest fear … not seeing everyone whenever I want; knowing they would be there when I chose to drop in on a random day or have an episode to shoot, where I got to spend a whole eight days together.

I am obsessed with the gifted people who spend morning, noon and night trying to make the most beautiful looking and feeling episodes of our show that they possibly could. Our incredibly talented steadicam operator Andrew Mitchell, always our Glee mascot who counted every single musical number so we could keep track of the momentous occasions when we reached 100, 200, 300 … 700 performances. Penny, the awesome dog-loving focus puller who loves to dance around with us during musical numbers while still getting her hard job done. Babs, our amazing script supervisor and continuity magician/Gleedirector … Joey, my fellow Yankees fan who would keep me up to date on the scores while we were on set. These people make it all worthwhile, during those long 14-hour days, knowing that we were all there in camaraderie.

Having Tina Cohen-Chang attend Brown University meant she wasn’t in every episode in the final season. She wasn’t in Lima working with Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) on the daily. So for me, that meant not being at Glee everyday. I got a small taste of what it meant to not be living, breathing and eating Glee for essentially the first time. I got used to it, I knew I would survive and that I could pop in anytime I wanted to get a quick hug and everyone would be there singing and dancing their faces off. There was something very settling knowing that it was always there. I prepared myself and began a new routine … auditioning, finding new projects to develop, creating a foundation, going to the gym, making dinner plans (because I could now!) and executive producing a documentary. Fun times, new adventures; I was ready. Then, I got the call to come back for the final episode, 613 [the first half of Glee‘s two-hour series finale]. I would get eight more days filled with gratitude to have the opportunity to close it out with the people I call family.

We have been through so much together. From the itchy costumes, long days, on-set pranks and freezing cold slushies … to the opportunities where we got to meet our amazingly dedicated fans on mall tours and sold-out stadium/arena concert tours. We’ve spent a thousand plane rides together, got to meet the president and first lady, went on Oprah and experienced hearing her saying our names in that iconic yell, “JennnaaaUshkkkoowitttzzzz!!” (Yeah, checked that off my bucket list!)

And of course, losing an incredible soul and amazing friend [Cory Monteith] along the way. It’s those kinds of things that bind you for life because there’s no one you’d rather be with when you’re going through something like that than those experiencing it, too. Where you feel comfortable enough to feel and act in whatever way that’s necessary to grieve and heal from something so tragic. We never would have gotten through all of it without the support of each other.

So here we are, the last take. See, the whole day we would laugh and then one of us would tear up and it would be like emotional dominoes (an emotionally exhausting day to say the least). I thought that when the cast and crew gathered together in the choir room post our final “CUT! CHECK IT!” and toast to our seven years together that I was ready [to say goodbye]; I thought I would keep it together. I put up such a defensive wall that morning that there was potential I wasn’t going to cry at all … that’s comical because Lea and I both cry a lot. But when you see a grown man like Matt Morrison cry or to see tears come downChord Overstreet‘s face, that’s heartbreaking. Adult men on the crew were losing it left and right throughout the day and it makes me very emotional, even now.

They cleared out the room of everyone except for the core cast and then Matt began to sing his song from across the room as he had been doing all evening. Then, unbeknownst to us he changed the blocking and made his way toward us as he sang and played his ukulele, with Chord accompanying him on guitar. We huddled close into a group hug while Andrew continued to shoot with the steadicam, most of us weeping at this joyous and bittersweet occasion and then bursting into fits of crying laughter, hysteria and pure bliss we spent together. The cast later decided to join together on the stage in the auditorium where we spent most of our time singing, dancing and plotting. There were more tears shed, words shared, jokes made and love all around. We didn’t go out and get crazy like some would expect. That’s not the kind of group we were.

What will I take from all this? Being surrounded by these amazing, talented and loving individuals for the past seven years whom I call my friends has taught me to be a stronger woman, unafraid to think differently, to speak up for what I believe and most of all, to believe in myself. They allow me to take leaps of faith and know that it’s OK to fall. They have shown me how to be kind to everyone and to appreciate the eyes, ears and two legs I get to dance on everyday (or in Kevin McHale’s case, that he can get up out of the wheelchair everyday after shooting as Artie). We were on a speeding train, looking out the window at the beautiful landscape flying by us and now that the train has hit the station, we are able to stop and take it all in. I am forever grateful for the gifts they have given me and I will never forget this incredible journey we started together. I am so lucky.

For those that forgot or stopped watching Glee, here’s how things turned out for the gang of McKinley High (these are spoilers!):

Tina and Artie ended up together, a couple of happy, avant-garde weirdos making films and hitting the festival track.

Sam became the coach of the New Directions—one of the most bittersweet Gleedestinies of all, given that we can safely assume the post would’ve gone to Finn in another life.

Klaine took New York by storm as a prominent husband-and-husband production team.

Rachel married Jesse St. James, won a Tony (of course), and served as a surrogate for Klaine.

Mercedes is the new Beyoncé.

Becky and Sue reunited.

Mr. Schue and Emma lived happily ever with rewarding careers and 2.5 kids.

Everything turned out perfectly—except, of course, for the empty space where Finn Hudson and Cory Monteith would have been. In a series finale so defined by past and present and all the people who came together along the way, it would’ve been impossible for Glee to execute as all-encompassing an ending as the combined “2009” and “Dreams Come True” without acknowledging that space.

And Sue Sylvester is happily ensconced in the White House as the number 2 for Jeb Bush.
