What better a way to celebrate the upcoming long weekend than to shine a light on an incredibly cute cat, who is anxiously waiting to find a loving forever home?! For nearly two years, we here at Movie TV Tech Geeks have been teaming up with North Shore Animal League America to raise awareness for animal rescue and adoption. By featuring an adoptable pet on our site – both cats and dogs – every week, we have been able to help find homes for countless deserving animals.

North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.

The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.

Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we hope to continue to find loving, suitable homes for even more pets.

With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.

Now, it’s time to introduce the true star of the week…Ms. Lucille!

Ms. Lucille is a beautiful 7-year-old Tabby, Domestic Shorthaired cat. She was fortunate to be rescued by the wonderful staff over at North Shore from her previous unsuitable living conditions in the New York Tri-State area. Ms. Lucille’s soft fur coat features some of the common colors and markings of a traditional tabby cat, which beautifully frame her striking green eyes. While at North Shore, Ms. Lucille has demonstrated her notably friendly disposition, as well as her inherent penchant for independence.

It has been said that pet owners smile more, laugh more and form special friendships with other animal owners and lovers. Ms. Lucille will surely bring these improvements to his new owners’ lives and help them lead a more joyful life.

Cats are extremely versatile and adaptable animals, making them the perfect pet option for almost every household. As mainly independent animals, cats are often low maintenance and are perfect for those who live an active and busy lifestyle who may not be able to take on the responsibility that is associated with owning a dog.

Jennifer Workman, a Feline Behaviorist at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Ms. Lucile is a calm cat who loves to sit quietly with her two-legged friends in the back office at North Shore Animal League America. She spends her free time napping and lounging on her favorite quilt-covered chair.

Seeing that Ms. Lucille is so laid back, the staff at North Shore recommends that she go to a family with children (if any) who are over the age of 10. In addition, she would likely do best in a home without any other cats or dogs.

Moreover, Ms. Lucille has a big, kind heart, that is filled with the love she is hoping to share with her forever family for years to come. She is the perfect companion for any household that is looking for a calm, yet infectious, spirit to welcome to their family.
