Mr. T has some big love for a new home 2017 images

We are pleased to wrap up the first week of April with an adorable kitty who is anxiously waiting to find their forever home. As our loyal readers know, we have been teaming up with North Shore Animal League America to feature adoptable pets – cats and dogs – every week. Through this partnership, and with the help of our readers, we have been able to help find homes for countless lovable animals, and we are determined to continue doing so!

North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.

The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.

Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we hope to continue to find loving, suitable homes for even more pets.

With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.

Now…please give a warm welcome to the animal of the week…Mr. T!

Just one year old, Mr. T is an adorable black and white, Domestic Short-haired cat. He was fortunate enough to be taken in by the staff at North Shore after previously living in unsuitable conditions in the New York Tri-State area. Being that he is a young cat, Mr. T is still learning and developing his personality. Therefore, he can be rather shy and timid at first. However, North Shore’s staff is confident that, with some time, love, and socialization, he will warm up and embrace his inherent spark.

It has been said that pet owners smile more, laugh more and form special friendships with other animal owners and lovers. Mr T will surely bring these improvements to his new owners’ lives and help them lead a more joyful life.

Cats are extremely versatile and adaptable animals, making them the perfect pet option for almost every household. As mainly independent animals, cats are often low maintenance and are perfect for those who live an active and busy lifestyle who may not be able to take on the responsibility that is associated with owning a dog.

Jennifer Workman, a Feline Behaviourist at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Mr. T loves receiving treats from his friends here at North Shore Animal League America. Once you earn his trust, he will create a bond with you that will last a lifetime.”

The staff at North Shore suggests that Mr. T go to a home with a more quiet atmosphere and preferably one in which all children (if any) are over the age of 10. As previously mentioned, Mr. T is still young and developing his own unique personality and behaviour. Therefore, it is best that he goes to a family that has some previous experience with caring for a cat and is able to help work with Mr. T on his socialization.

With many joyful years ahead of him, it is truly the perfect time to welcome Mr. T into your family.
