Meet sia NSALA’s latest adoptable cat ready for a great home

Sia is making beautiful music in a great loving new home.

Once again we are pleased to present another adorable pet that is up for adopting! Thanks to our loyal readers and the admirable team at North Shore Animal League America, we have been able to help find homes for countless animals over the past year. Every week we here at Movie TV Tech Geeks shine a light on an adoptable pet – cat or dog – that is anxiously waiting to be placed in their forever home.

North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.

The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.

With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.

This week we are excited to introduce…Sia!

At just 5 months old, Sia is an adorable black and white, shorthaired domestic kitty. She is still fairly small and has plenty of growing to do, but she is well on her way in blossoming into a full-grown, social adult cat.

Due to her shy demeanor, Sia is an ideal friend for a family with children who are over the age of 13. With that being said, she can undoubtedly help mature children learn responsibility, value for life, socialization and help build their self-esteem. Meanwhile, she can also provide ample companionship to adults and seniors and improve their feelings of self-worth. Taking care of her can also help provide a sense of purpose for her owners.

It has been said that pet owners smile more, laugh more and form special friendships with other animal owners and lovers. Undoubtedly, Sia will bring these improvements to her new owners’ lives and help them lead a more joyful life.

Cats are extremely versatile and adaptable animals, making them the perfect pet option for almost every household. As mainly independent animals, cats are often low maintenance and are perfect for those who live an active and busy lifestyle who may not be able to take on the responsibility that is associated with owning a dog.

Rosie Tombolo, the Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Sia is a wonderful companion who loves to play with all types of toys and spend time napping quietly on laps. She will make a great feline friend.”

The staff at North Shore Animal League America suggests that Sia go to a home with a family who has had prior experience with cats. This will ensure that she is properly welcomed into her new home and her transition goes smoothly. Although she is still developing her personality, Sia has shown to be a relatively reserved and timid feline. This is why North Shore believes she would feel best in an environment where there are adults and mature children. Sia is also open to having some feline siblings, so families who already have a four-legged friend wandering around are welcome to inquire about Sia.

With plenty of joyous years to come, Sia is more-than-ready to make everlasting bonds with both her future two-legged and four-legged (if applicable) housemates.

If you are interested in Sia, please send an inquiry e-mail to DoritS@animalleague.org.
