NEFERTITI got adopted

UPDATE: 11/14/2016

Nefertiti found a great home over the weekend. Fall is a great time to find wonderful rescue animals who’ve been fortunate to be taken out of the cold weather by North Shore Animal League America.

If you are looking for the perfect furry partner to cuddle up with this winter season – look no further! We are back with our weekly “Adopt Me” feature, thanks to our friends at North Shore Animal League America. As many of our loyal readers know, we have been teamed up with North Shore Animal League America for over a year. With North Shore Animal League America’s support, we have been able to help find homes for countless animals throughout the duration of our partnership.

North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.

The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.

Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we are working even harder this year to get even more pets adopted than last year.

With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.

Now…help us give a warm welcome to Nefertiti!

At 4 years of age, Nefertiti is a beautiful Snow Shoe/Siamese mix cat. She has a mixture of brown and orange markings, as well as prominent white/cream patches. Nefertiti has perky ears, beautiful blue eyes and an adorable pink little nose. Fortunately, the staff at North Shore was able to rescue Nefertiti from a municipal shelter in Virginia. Since being at North Shore, Nefertiti has shown to be an extremely affectionate feline, who absolutely loves curling up on the lap of her two-legged friends.

Like most of her cat counterparts, Nefertiti can undoubtedly help children learn responsibility, value for life, socialization and help build their self-esteem. She can also provide ample companionship to adults and seniors and improve their feelings of self-worth. Taking care of her can also help provide a sense of purpose for her owners.

It has been said that pet owners smile more, laugh more and form special friendships with other animal owners and lovers. Nefertiti will surely bring these improvements to her new owners’ lives and help them lead a more joyful life.

Cats are extremely versatile and adaptable animals, making them the perfect pet option for almost every household. As mainly independent animals, cats are often low maintenance and are perfect for those who live an active and busy lifestyle who may not be able to take on the responsibility that is associated with owning a dog.

Vanessa Marin, the Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Nefertiti is a well-rounded cat who enjoys spending time sitting on the windowsill watching the birds as well as playing and running around with her toys.”

Based on her easy-going demeanor and friendly personality, Nefertiti will thrive in almost any home environment. In fact, she would even do well in a home that already has a four-legged feline friend wandering around.

Moreover, Nefertiti is an adorable, loving cat who is ready to start the next chapter of her life. She will surely bring joy and light to any family that is gracious enough to open their home, and their hearts, to her.
