We’ve been on a roll as the last two featured pets have been adopted literally after they were published, so we thank all you great readers for continuing to support North Shore Animal League America. We here at Movie TV Tech Geeks are hoping to raise awareness for animal rescue and adoption. Every week, we feature an adoptable pet – both cats and dogs – that is looking for the loving family it deserves. Thanks to our loyal readers, we have been able to find homes for countless animals, and we are eager to continue doing so!
Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we are working even harder this year to get even more pets adopted than last year.
North Shore Animal League America, which is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. Since 1944, the organization has strived towards achieving its ultimate vision: “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate permanent homes.”
To date, North Shore has helped find homes for over 1,000,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. With their main headquarters in Port Washington, New York, North Shore provides crucial resources such as a pet adoption center, a pet health center that offers affordable veterinary care and much more.
Now…without further ado…meet Nala!
Nala is a small, 7-year-old Lab mix. She was fortunate enough to be rescued from Georgia, where she was previously living in unsuitable conditions. Being an adult dog, Nala has already been trained to walk on a leash. In addition, she is also housebroken, which means she knows to do her business outside.
Stemming from her various roots, it is not surprising that Nala is a well-behaved, big-hearted dog. Labs, in particular, are known for being one of the best four-legged companions that us two-legged folks could ask for. In line with Nala’s behavior, Labs are commonly very easy to train. They often show a strong desire to please their owners and will listen to commands if it means they will earn some love and affection (and maybe even a few treats).
Rachel Rudman, a Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Nala loves to receive hugs and kisses from the staff and volunteers here at North Shore Animal League America. She would make an excellent addition for an adopter looking for a docile, four-legged companion.”
The staff at North Shore suggests that Nala go to a home that has children over the age of 12. In addition, it is recommended that her new owners have some previous experience with caring for a dog. Based on her calm demeanor and gentle personality, Nala would thrive in a home that is relatively quiet and relaxed. While she will make an excellent companion for a walk in the park, she is also the ideal pal to have around when you feel like spending the day cuddled up on the couch.
Moreover, Nala is a healthy dog that is anxiously waiting to find her forever home. She is ready to start the next chapter of her life with the loving family she deserves.
