UPDATE: Maddie has found a great home just two weeks after we featured her on Movie TV Tech Geeks. Keep checking our Adopt Me section as there’s more wonderful pets looking for a great new home.
With another week come and gone, we are pleased to feature another deserving pet that is anxiously waiting to find her forever home. As many of our loyal readers know, we have been featuring adoptable pets – both cats and dogs – every week in our “Adopt Me” section. Through our teaming up with North Shore Animal League America, we have been able to help find homes for numerous pets, and we are very excited to continue to do so.
North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.
The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.
Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we hope to continue to find loving, suitable homes for even more pets.
With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.
Now…. Time to meet the furry star of this week…Maddie!
Maddie is an adorable, 3-year-old Domestic shorthaired cat. She is a Calico kitty, which is evident based on her mixture of white, black, and brown/orange coat of soft fur. Thanks to North Shore, Maddie was fortunate enough to be rescued from the New York Tri-State Area, giving her the chance to find the loving family she deserves.
It has been said that pet owners smile more, laugh more and form special friendships with other animal owners and lovers. Maddie will surely bring these improvements to her new owners’ lives and help them lead a more joyful life.
Cats are extremely versatile and adaptable animals, making them the perfect pet option for almost every household. As mainly independent animals, cats are often low maintenance and are perfect for those who live an active and busy lifestyle who may not be able to take on the responsibility that is associated with owning a dog.
Being that she is a fairly young cat, Maddie has a lively, spunky personality. She is more than happy to be on the receiving end of treats and loves to spend her time cuddled up next to her favorite two-legged friends. At the North Shore campus, Maddie can often be found lounging around on the laps of members of the shelter’s animal-loving staff. Maddie is an all-around curious little girl, who is always looking to play and have fun.
Rosie Tombolo, the Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Maddie loves to play with toys and climb up high on her cat tree. She is a young, healthy feline waiting for the right family to come and adopt her.”
The staff at North Shore suggests that Maddie go to a home with children over the age of 10. In addition, Maddie would prefer to be the only pet in the home.
Moreover, with plenty of joy-filled years ahead of her, Maddie is the perfect addition to any suitable home. With her infectious energy, kind heart, and companionship, Maddie will undoubtedly forge a lifelong bond with her future family.
