UPDATE: What great news to start the week with as Lilu found a home already. She was just featured on Movie TV Tech Geeks Adopt Me Feature on Friday and found a home very quickly.

This week we have an adorable little pup that is ready to find her forever home! As many of you know, we here at Movie TV Tech Geeks have been teaming up with the reputable North Shore Animal League America to raise awareness for pet adoption. By featuring an adoptable cat or dog every week, we have been able to help find homes for countless animals and shine a light on the many animals that are in need.

Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we are working even harder this year to get even more pets adopted than last year.

North Shore Animal League America, which is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. Since 1944, the organization has strived towards achieving its ultimate vision: “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate permanent homes.”

To date, North Shore has helped find homes for over 1,000,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. With their main headquarters in Port Washington, New York, North Shore provides crucial resources such as a pet adoption center, a pet health center that offers affordable veterinary care and much more.

Now to introduce the star of the week…Lilu!

Just 1-year-old, Lilu is a spunky Rottweiler/Hound mix from Tennessee. She has mainly black and brown fur, with a bit of white on her chest and belly. While Lilu can be fairly shy at first, given time she does warm up and subsequently show off her incredibly loving personality. Being the young dog that she is, Lilu is plenty curious and really enjoys exploring new spaces.

Originating in Germany, the Rottweiler was initially tasked with herding cattle and pulling carts for its owners. It’s strength, stamina and muscular build made for it to be the perfect breed for executing manually intensive tasks. In addition to it’s physical abilities, the Rottweiler is also known for being a very attentive and intelligent dog. This is why the breed was later adopted into numerous authoritative outlets, including law enforcement, military efforts and security/customs.

When it comes to it’s family, the Rottweiler is generally very loving, loyal and protective. While their natural instinct is to defend their family, through training and early socialization this can be harnessed into a more mellow demonstration of love. This breed strives when under leadership and is known for being very respectful and obedient when it comes to following commands.

Rosie Tombolo, the Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “Lilu actively seeks attention and gives tons of kisses once she knows you. She can play fetch for hours or jog alongside when you go on a long run.”

The staff at North Shore note that Lilu is looking to go to an active household with owners who have past experience with dogs. She is seeking some playmates that are able to keep up with both her size and her infectious spirit. This makes her an ideal match for a family that has children over the age of 10. In addition to playing with her human friends, Lilu also gets along with other friendly canines. It is best that she meets any canines that may be her future housemate prior to being welcomed into their family. Interested pet-owners are suggested to bring in their current four-legged friends (if they have any) to North Shore so that the dogs can have a meet-and-greet before Lilu is brought home.

Moreover, Lilu is an adorable, affectionate and caring dog. She has plenty of years ahead of her and is more-than-ready to find a forever home in which she can spend these joyous years with the ones she loves.
