CIERA ADOPTED from north shore animal league movie tv tech geeks

UPDATE: 10/24/2016

Ciera had a great surprise for her Thanksgiving as she’s been adopted after less than a week after being featured on Movie TV Tech Geeks! This has been our best year yet teaming with North Shore Animal League America as nearly 99 percent of the pets featured on our site each week have been adopted!

There’s still a few amazing pets available from our site here, so help make their holiday season great.

While there aren’t very many days in 2016 left, there are still plenty of deserving animals waiting to be adopted. As many of our loyal readers know, we here at Movie TV Tech Geeks have been teaming up with North Shore Animal League America for over a year. With their help, we have been raising awareness for pet adoption. Every week we feature an adoptable petcat or dog – that is anxiously waiting to be welcomed into their forever home. We also feature great pet tips and help articles in conjunction with North Shore Animal League America so you’re getting accurate information. The internet is full of so much advice; some which may not always be accurate so we make sure that our articles are on the mark for you and your pet.

Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we are working even harder this year to get even more pets adopted than last year.

North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.

The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.

With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.

Now…time to meet the star of the week…Ciera!

Ciera is a four-year-old, adorable little Chihuahua mix. Ciera has a primarily white coat of fur, but also has patches of a beautiful light brown color on her two perky ears and a few other places on her small frame. Fortunately, North Shore was able to rescue Ciera from an unsuitable living situation in the Midwest. Although Ciera is notably shy and timid at first, she completely opens up once she has established trust with those around her. Her loving heart and loyalty makes Ciera the perfect companion.

Chihuahuas are known for being full of personality and fun. Even though they may come in a tiny package, they are enthusiastic and loving. They often like to create strong bonds with their owners and stay by their side as much as possible. This particular breed is also known for being intelligent and adaptive. They can be very curious and adventurous dogs; therefore, you must keep a good eye on them when away from home, as they can maneuver themselves through even the smallest of escape routes. Nonetheless, they are incredibly loyal pets who enjoy showing their affection and care for their family.

Rosie Tombolo, the Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “During Ciera’s time here at North Shore Animal League America, our medical and behavioral staff have worked with her to teach her to be housebroken and walk on a leash.”

Since being at North Shore’s campus, Ciera has already made some of her favorite activities well known to staff members. She loves receiving plenty of treats and can often be found rolling around in the grass. The staff at North Shore believes that Ciera would do best in a home with children over the age of 12. In addition, Ciera would also be okay with a family that already has a four-legged canine in their family

Moreover, while Ciera may not be the biggest dog around, she certainly has a big heart. She is a smart, playful and kind-hearted pup and is ready to start building an everlasting bond with the family that welcomes her into their home.
