09/26/2016 UPDATE:

Calypso has found a wonderful new home already. We’re so happy that we’ve helped another great rescue pet find a new home. Don’t forget to check below as there are five more great rescue pets ready to be adopted.

It’s that time of week again! We have yet another adorable little kitty anxiously waiting to find its forever home. For over a year, we have been featuring an adoptable pet – cat or dog – every week on our site. Through our teaming up with the reputable North Shore Animal League America, Movie TV Tech Geeks has been able to help find loving families for numerous deserving animals. Check out all of our featured pets if you’re more of a dog person.

North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. For over 70 years, North Shore has been rescuing animals and advocating their proper care. Since opening in 1944, the organization has saved the lives of over 1,000,000 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies.

Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we are working even harder this year to get even more pets adopted than last year.

The shelter is located in Port Washington, New York, where it facilitates animal rescue and adoptions, as well as plays a lead role in the no-kill movement. North Shore Animal League America continues to innovate better and more sustainable ways to care for pets, in order to create a brighter future for animals everywhere.

With their vision, “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate, permanent homes.” North Shore Animal League America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless animals.

This week we are pleased to introduce…Calypso, a beautiful cat with lots of love to give!

Calypso is a striking, grey-toned domestic tabby cat with short soft hair. At about 5 years of age, she has a wonderful temperament and is very attentive. She has gorgeous icy blue-green eyes that beautifully contrast the greyish-brown color of her markings. Fortunately, North Shore Animal League America was able to rescue Calypso from the Tristate area, and they are now looking to find her a family she can call her own.

With her sweet personality, Calypso is an ideal friend for people of almost any age. She can help mature children learn responsibility, value for life, socialization and help build their self-esteem. Meanwhile, she can also provide ample companionship to adults and seniors and improve their feelings of self-worth. Taking care of her can also help provide a sense of purpose for her owners.

It has been said that pet owners smile more, laugh more and form special friendships with other animal owners and lovers. Undoubtedly, Calypso will bring these improvements to her new owners’ lives and help them lead a more joyful life.

Cats are extremely versatile and adaptable animals, making them the perfect pet option for almost every household. As mainly independent animals, cats are often low maintenance and are perfect for those who live an active and busy lifestyle who may not be able to take on the responsibility that is associated with owning a dog.

Rosie Tombolo, the Kennel Manager of North Shore Animal League America notes, “[Calypso] is very attentive, always want to talk by your side and chirp to say hello. Calypso has moments of high energy spurts when she’s playing with long, bouncy, feather toys, but also loves some down time, sprawled out on a soft blanket.”

While Calypso can appreciate her leisure time – like many cats – she also has an infectious, playful side to her. She has lots of energy that she enjoys working out by pouncing and playing around.

The staff at North Shore believes that Calypso would do best in a home with children who are over the age of 8. In addition, they also note that she is very friendly and gets along with her fellow felines. Therefore, she would likely be able to adapt to a home environment that already has a cat roaming around.

Moreover, Calypso is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She has an affectionate personality and will undoubtedly form a bond with her family that will last a lifetime.
