This week we are featuring a furry, adaptable member of ‘royalty’ in our “Adopt Me” section. As we continue to kick off 2017, we here at Movie TV Tech Geeks are so excited to continue our teaming up with our friends over at North Shore Animal League America. Through our collaboration with North Shore, we have been able to help house countless pets. Every week, we post a different adoptable animal – cat or dog – in hopes of finding them the loving family they deserve.
Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still contact North Shore Animal League, and they can guide you to the closest no-kill rescue shelter in your area for a similar dog or even arrange travel arrangements. If you have a friend you think would be interested, pass these articles on as we continue to strive to find homes for all of the pets we feature on our site.
North Shore Animal League America, which is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. Since 1944, the organization has strived towards achieving its ultimate vision: “To put an end to animal cruelty and euthanasia and to create a world in which all companion animals find compassionate permanent homes.”
To date, North Shore has helped find homes for over 1,000,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. With their main headquarters in Port Washington, New York, North Shore provides crucial resources such as a pet adoption center, a pet health center that offers affordable veterinary care and much more.
Now…help us give a warm welcome to this week’s pup…King!
At 5 years of age, King is a handsome and lovable, medium-sized Pointer/Terrier mix. Fortunately, North Shore was able to rescue him from down in Tennessee and subsequently, give him the opportunity to find the forever home he deserves.
Not only is King an adorable-looking pup, he also has an infectious personality. He is a rather playful fellow, who thoroughly enjoys playing fetch and going for runs/jogs with his two-legged friends. King is notably well mannered, as he is both house broken (meaning he knows to do his business outside) and crate trained.
Pointers tend to be very interactive with their family members. These dogs love to play with their loved ones and also prove their loyalty. In some cases, Pointers have been known to be good watchdogs, as they have are inherently alert, which allows them to sense unusual occurrences in their surroundings.
Both of King’s breeds (Pointer and Terrier) are known for being energetic, which is clearly present in his upbeat personality and inherent spark. Dogs of his breeds love to let out their energy and try out all kinds of different energy-expending activities. Inevitably, this makes them the perfect companion for owners who lead an active lifestyle and could use some company on their daily walk/run/bike ride.
Rachael Rudman, the Kennel Manager at North Shore Animal League America notes, “King enjoys the company of his two-legged friends, especially when they give him tons of hugs and kisses.”
The staff at North Shore believes that King would do best with a family that has kids (if any) at least 6 years of age. He is a fun, young-adult dog, which would truly thrive in a home that embodies a similar youthful, light-hearted spirit. It is recommended that any suitable animal lovers, who are interested in adopting King, come visit him at North Shore before welcoming him into their home. In addition, if potential owners already have any canine pals running around at home, it is recommended that they bring them in to meet King beforehand as well.
Moreover, with his sweet little snout, perky tail and little white fur mittens, King will undoubtedly bring smiles to his forever family’s faces for years to come. He has a fun, playful spirit and incredibly loving demeanor, making him the perfect addition to any suitable home.
