Sony X950G 65-inch 4K
TV
Street price: $1,570; deal price: $1,398
The former upgrade pick and newly announced top pick from our guide to the best LCD/LED TV,
the Sony X950G (65-inch), is on sale now for $1,398, the lowest price we’ve
posted so far for the 65-inch version.
Vizio
M658-G1 65-Inch 4K TV
Street price: $750; deal price: $649.99
The 65-inch version of a model we like in our guide to the best LCD/LED TVs, the Vizio M658-G1, is down to $650.
Vizio recently improved the M-Series Quantum by adding more local dimming
zones, which results in better black-level performance and contrast.
Samsung RU8000 55-inch + Sony BLU-RAY Disc Player
Street price: $760; deal price: $559
Available for $565 when you use promo code 19PREBF7, this is a great chance to
save on a bundle that includes a 55″ variant of our top gaming TV pick and
a Sony BLU-RAY Disc Player. The Samsung RU8000 offers low input lag, HDMI 2.1
support, and good picture quality. If you’ve been looking to upgrade your TV
for gaming, this is a nice deal.
Sony X900F 75-Inch LED TV
Street price: $2400; deal price: $1,798
Down to $1798, this is a great deal on an older model if screen real estate is
your primary concern. The Sony X900F 75-Inch LED TV a larger variant of our
former upgrade LCD/LED TV pick. Normally priced around $2400, this is a great
opportunity to save if you’re in the market for a 75-inch television.
TCL Roku TV (32-inch)
Street price: $130; deal price: $112.88
If you’re looking for a smaller television that hits all the baseline marks in
terms of price and performance, this is a solid discount for the option we
recommend. Available for $113, this is the lowest price we’ve seen for the
newest version of our top 32-inch TV pick,
the TCL Roku TV (32S325). Equipped with integrated Roku, three HDMI ports, and
decent picture quality straight out of the box, you can’t do much better for
just over $100.
Cyber Monday Discounts on Soundbars and Accessories
Polk Audio Command Soundbar
Street price: $250; deal price: $199
This drop matches the lowest recurring price we’ve seen for this former smart
soundbar pick, which we still praise in our guide to the best soundbar.
The Polk Audio Command Soundbar might no longer be a pick, but we still like
its performance and features, including its Alexa capabilities.
VIZIO
SB3651-E6 Soundbar
Street price: $200; deal price: $149.99 You can also get a good
deal on Amazon
here.
Down to $150 from a street price around $200, this is another solid deal that
matches the previous best price we’ve seen for this recommended soundbar new.
The Vizio SB3651-E6 is our budget pick soundbar, and we like it for offering a
complete surround sound experience for a reasonable price.
Sony UBP-X700 4K Blu-ray Player
Street price: $180; deal price: $128
Available for $128 from $180, this matches the lowest price we’ve seen on our
top 4K Blu-ray player pick. The Sony UBP-X700 offers the best image quality and
streaming options from other tested Blu-ray players. Every year, this model
tends to dip and see a protracted drop around the holidays, something we’ll
continue to expect as this still-great option gets further from its release
date.
What TV deals should I expect on Cyber Monday?
Jaw-dropping doorbuster TV deals are the cornerstone of Black Friday, but they are also now part of Cyber Monday deals. They’re a holiday tradition for brick-and-mortar retailers (with online retailers following suit in recent years), and Black Friday news coverage usually consists of exhausted but triumphant shoppers exiting stores at 1 a.m. as they struggle to carry giant TVs they scored for just a few hundred bucks. Cyber Monday will often see continuations of the same sales.
But the truth is, blowout Black Friday and Cyber Monday TV deals are almost never worth the hype because—as with most things with too-good-to-be-true pricing—you usually get what you pay for. The super-discounted TVs so common on Black Friday and Cyber Monday are almost never the best TVs with the best performance and the best features. In fact, doorbuster specials are often models that are available exclusively during the holiday season—you usually see deals only on bargain brands or stripped-down models from popular makers. Some may even look like the TVs you want but are lacking in key features that make their better-specs siblings worth your money. To help you wade through this influx of TV deals on Cyber Monday and determine what’s truly a good find, our deals team will be hunting for the best discounts.
Our team of intense testers put all of the TVs they review through a series of tests using precise measurement equipment that gauges, among other things, how accurate the colors are, how bright a TV gets, how dark blacks are, and how fast a TV displays an image.
We also compare them with other models and explore features such as the HDR performance, the TV’s speakers, and its streaming media capabilities. If you’re planning to have a TV as part of your home for years to come, you don’t want to be duped into buying something that disappoints. During the holiday shopping season, our Deals team looks for great prices only on the TVs that Movie TV Tech Geeks already recommends. That way, when we post a deal, you know it’s for a thoroughly reviewed model, not an obscure version that pops up only in November and December.
Who has the best Cyber Monday TV deals?
We can expect some of the brands we recommend, such as Vizio and TCL, to continue to see some decent discounts this Cyber Monday. “We’re likely to see deals on the TCL 5-Series, both the old and the new,” sources say. “The old version could drop to $325 or less, and the new version could hit $370 or less.” They also note that a competition pick we like when it’s on sale, the Vizio M558-G1, will probably drop back to $500 or less. We also expect to see deals on our high-end OLED picks from LG, too. They say it’s likely that we’ll see discounts on the 55-inch LG C9, a smart 4K TV.
Unfortunately, for Samsung and Sony fans, don’t expect exceptional discounts on Movie TV Tech Geeks picks from those brands—historically, Samsung and Sony deals have been relatively conservative during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. However, Black Friday sales are any indication, we may see some better Cyber Monday discounts than usual on Samsung TVs this year, and some older Sony models still worth your time could also see sales. Even though the discounts won’t be the knock-your-socks-off variety, the latest Samsung and Sony TVs will still see standard deal pricing (or potentially slightly better in Samsung’s case), so you’ll be able to save a little on some of our top picks.
Here are a variety of TV hot deals going on now through the holiday season that are worth checking out:
- Get the Toshiba 55LF711U20 from Amazon for $299 (Save $150)—This is a crazy price for a 55-inch TV. While Toshiba’s Fire TVs haven’t always been our top-rated models in terms of picture quality, getting a 55-inch smart 4K TV for this price is still a huge steal.
- Get the TCL 50S425 from Amazon for $239.99 (Save $240)—TCL’s 4 Series hit the market in 2019, delivering a bunch of really solid TVs that were already cheap. Saving almost $250 on the 50-inch TCL 4 Series is a totally rad deal.
- Get the TCL 49S325 from Amazon for $249.99 (Save $395.81)
- Get the Samsung UN50RU7100 from Amazon for $347.99 (Save $152)
- Get the Samsung UN75RU8000 from Amazon for $1,297.99 (Save $902)—This is a very big TV (75 inches), so saving almost $1,000 is pretty awesome. This isn’t one of Samsung’s “QLED” models, but it’s still one of the company’s better 4K/HDR models for 2019.
- Get the Sony XBR-49X900F from Amazon for $798 (Save $201.99)
- Get the Sony XBR-65X800G from Amazon for $698 (Save $301.99)—This is one of Sony’s best 2019 TVs, and it’s pretty big at 65 inches.
