We all know that on any reality show, even Rupaul’s Drag Race, the contestants are often acting to the camera and giving us only a glimpse of their real personality, but it takes having a camera following you around all summer while touring that really shows audiences what some of these contestants are really like, in and out of their makeup. Filmmaker Mark Kenneth Woods followed some of the known Rupaul’s Drag Race winner and contestants around this summer during World Pride in Toronto (granted, only for four days), but in that time, he was able to get some great indepth interviews with the queens we’ve all come to know and love.

We get to see Bianca Del Rio, Adore Delano, Courtney Act, Darienne Lake, Alyssa Edwards and the one that’s my least favorite Shangela. As it’s only cut down to a one-hour documentary film, don’t expect too much depth as their isn’t a whole lot of time to go deep with these queens as they flit from one show and emotion to the next one.

There’s not a whole lot about this film out there, but check out the new trailer below to get yourself ready for this one that hits only in Canada right now early this year. I’m sure if it paints a continued great light on Rupaul’s Drag Race, Logo will be swooping it up shortly after.

Here’s what the filmmaker has described it as in his own words…brief as they are.

This summer I had the opportunity to follow some of the world’s most renowned drag queens for 4 days as they schlep from one gig to another during World Pride in Toronto. What resulted is an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at performance, glamor, fame, family, love and sacrifice. You did not see this side of anybody on a certain show :) Starring Bianca Del Rio, Adore Delano, Courtney Act, Darienne Lake, Alyssa Edwards, Shangela. The full 1 hour documentary will air on OUTtvin Canada in early 2015 and likely LogoTV in the US shortly after (though this has yet to be confirmed). I’ll post details as soon as I know. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
